Dream/flashback
“It truly is beautiful isn’t it?” Kallen was taken by surprise at the question and almost fell into the ocean “Le…ZERO!” she yelled as she had managed to compose herself. “What is it that you need?” asked Kallen as Zero walked up from behind her. “I was looking for you to discuss tomorrow’s offensive against the Chinese federation, but the meeting is over” he responded, Kallen blushed at the embarrassment of forgetting to sit in on the meeting. “Who knew I’d find you up on the Ikaruga looking up at the stars…here come sit down” said Lelouch as he took off his cape and made a make shift seat for the two of them. Kallen did as she was told and went back to her sitting position with her knees in front and her arms circled around her knees, while Lelouch just laid on his back looking up at the sky “It truly is beautiful isn’t it?” asked Lelouch again as he turned towards Kallen, “What is?” she replied as she stared off into space “The world” answered Lelouch as he saw Kallen slightly shivering from the cold. “Here” he said as he took off his jacket and wrapped it around his ace pilot “thank you, Le..Zero” she said again “no for now just call me Lelouch” he replied as he lay back down “You know sometimes when its peaceful times like this, war seems so far away and unjustly. I almost forget that tomorrow we’re going to go to battle with one of the biggest remaining super powers in the world” Kallen just turned her head to Lelouch “Lelouch…” she whispered “But then I remember” he interrupted “Why I am doing this, so the world can one day too be just as peaceful as it is now permanently” He then procceded to take off his mask and lay it next to him “Lelouch what is someone sees you?” said a shocked Kallen as she stood up and looked around to see if anyone was in sight “Relax, Kallen” he said as he grabbed her hand gently and pulled her back down “I geassed the engineers to now allow anyone onto the top of this ship” Kallen laughed “Always so precautious, huh?” Lelouch smiled “yes about the things I care about” Kallen then blushed and turned away slightly “Lelouch about before…” she said trying to recall the memory at the dock and when she fell onto him and was rudely interrupted by CC “I mean it, I want to return to Ashford with you” he said causing her to turn completely around to avoid showing her embarrassment “I don’t need that” she replied sternly “Kallen” he said as he walked up behind her again “You don’t always have to be so tough. You and I both know each other’s secrets so why can’t we be a little more open about it all?” he asked gently “Lelouch I meant it, I have everything here; friends, purpose and meaning” Lelouch chucked to himself “What its true!” she exclaimed as she turned around to face him “Eventually this war will end and what will you do then if we win?” he questioned, Kallen then quickly replied “Take my mother far away from area 11” Lelouch smiled “Maybe one day we both can take our loved ones away from it all” and then turned to her. The two then sat back down and stared at the stars and admired the silence before the invasion of the Chinese.
End dream/ flashback
“Kallen its time for school” shouted her mother as Kallen did her normal preparations and smiled at the pictures on her wall as she ran off to school “Lelouch, would I have been one of those precious people you would have taken away?” she thought as she ran faster and faster to get to school.
Sometime later in the day
“Is this really okay?” Said Lelouch to CC as they both walked down the streets of Tokyo “It should be fine with these synthetic faces and voice changers no one will notice us” smiled CC as she ran around find pizza “not only do you never age, but so doesn’t your love for cheese-kun” he said as she bought up cheese-kun’s face to the pizza hut window. “We don’t take this kind of money anymore” said the store dealer to the couple as he saw the once used Britannian dollars “What do you mean?” asked Lelouch “This money is useless, its better used as toilet paper, the new currency is UFN dollars” said the owner as he stared at the two “What have you two been living under a rock or something?” he questioned as he saw CC’s face sadden a little “You know” said Lelouch as he noticed his partner’s face become saddened and he began to reach for his contacts “stop” said CC as she realized what Lelouch was about to do “Oh leave them alone” said a voice from behind them “I’ll pay for it” the owner then smiled and replied “damn kids never got money anymore” The girl walked in between the two and Lelouch became awe struck as he saw a red streak go past him “Kallen!” he said as she turned around and faced him in her Ashford academy uniform “do I know you mister?” she asked as she slapped down the UFN currency to pay for both their pizzas “I..” he said as he tried to formulate a correct response to her inquisition “know you from the television” said CC stepping up to the plate “your that Ace Pilot that was to be executed by Emperor Lelouch vi Britannia ” Kallen then looked at the couple “Yeah” she replied with a little bit of sadness in her voice “Your pizza is ready” said the owner as he gave the trio their respective pizzas “here’s also your free Cheese-kun with a flight suit” added the owner who then pulled out a stuffed cheese-kun with a flight suit “Yes…” whispered CC as she grabbed and began to bear hug both her Cheese-kuns “you remind me of someone” said Kallen as she noticed the familiar looking Cheese-kun and affection “Who?” asked Lelouch turning the question around “Someone I use to work with” she said softly as she turned to leave “I hope we meet again” Lelouch nodded “I think we will” as he saw CC just hug her cheese-kuns. “You know you almost blew it” he said to her as her mind was currently elsewhere “who cares, I got what I wanted” she said as she smiled and walked out of the store “women” he sighed as he grabbed the pizza and went back to their private apartment.
Kallen’s home:
“Mother I’m home!” said Kallen as she put the pizza down on the table and went upstairs to do her homework “You have a letter” replied her mother as Kallen stopped by the mail pile and picked one up addressed to her “Hmm whose this?” she asked herself as she noticed no postage stamp on it and no return address “Must be a college” letter she thought as she took it upstairs to read. She threw her bag onto her bed and the letter onto her desk and took a nap
Dream
“Hey Zero” asked Kallen “Yes, Kallen” replied her faceless leader “Do you think we can win against Britannia?” Zero chuckled “Of course we can, we have justice on our side and I am a man who can make miracles happen. Why Kallen do you not believe in me?” he questioned “Of course I believe in you!” replied Kallen as she jumped back at the sudden turn of the question “Good, learn this well Kallen” he said as she leaned towards him to hear what he had to say “Always believe in me and we will always win” Kallen then smiled and left Zero alone
End dream
“Lelouch…” she whispered as she went to do her homework on her desk “Damn these Integrals!” she shouted as she tried to solve the 10 step equations “ARG” she said as she leaned back into her chair. Her gaze then turned to the letter that sat near her desk light “hmm maybe this might take my mind off of work” she said as she began to open it. “hmm what does it read” she thought as she read down the letter “Come to the playground alone at 11PM Q-1” Kallen stood up as her chair fell down “ZERO!?” she shouted as she then realized “Suzaku is with Nunnally in the meeting in China right now, this must be some sick joke” she said as she then got her cellphone “I have to call Ohgi and….wait…if it is some sick prank I’ll play along and just beat the crap out of whoever is doing this” she said as she saw the clock “HOLY CRAP its already 10:54, and I’m 10 minutes away from the playground” she said as she got up and ran as fast as her legs could take her
Playground at 10:59
“You think she’ll come?” asked CC in the dark “of course, she’ll think it is someone pulling her leg and she’ll come here to kick his ass” laughed Lelouch “and what if she brings Ohgi and the others?” questioned CC “I doubt it, she isn’t that desperate for help” he said as he turned in the darkness to see the entrance of the playground “and 11” he said on the dot as his clock switched digits. “No sign” he said as he got up to leave “HA made it!” shouted Kallen as she grabbed the light pole and gasped for air “So you came” said a voice from the shrouded figure on the bench “Yes now who are you?” asked Kallen as she was shocked at the booming voice “I’ve wanted to talk with you for a while now” he said “Look if you are one of those stalkers from school I’ll kick your ass ” she replied quickly “Always with the violent responses Q-1” he said as she got even more pissed off “No one calls me that except for..” “Zero” replied the voice “You’re not Zero” she snapped “Your right” responded the voice “Zero is a symbol and I am just a man” Kallen was getting fed up with all of the crap he was saying to her “Tell me who you are!” she demanded pulling out a pistol from her pocket pointing it nervously at the figure “Or else I’ll shoot you and tell the police you tried to assault me” The figure remained still despite the threat “I never answered your question” he calmly replied “What question was that?” she said as her mind was running a 1000 thoughts trying to piece together this mysterious figure "Shit I really wish I was good at distinguishing voices" she thought “That time at the club house, when you kissed me” responded him. “No it can’t be” she said as her hands began shacking even more “The time you asked me “Who am I to you?” “ Kallen began to have a nervous breakdown as her emotions began to flood out as the only answer became clearer "The man you came to admire and the man you loved" Kallen began to stutter uncontrollably now “Your dead, it can’t be..I saw you die when Suzaku stabbed you with the sword..I was at your funeral” The figure laughed “So, I’ve returned from the grave before Kallen” “ I don't believe you this is some sick joke, why won’t you show me your face you impostor!” screamed Kallen as she came slightly closer and closer to pulling the trigger "I'll shoot you I swear!" she declared "I am moving on with my life, living for the both of us, for the future you gave us" as tears slowly began to develop on her face "Sometimes living isn't enough, don't you know that my queen?” asked Lelouch “DON’T CALL ME THAT!” screamed Kallen as she unloaded a clip in the figure and watch him fall to the ground. “Lelouch?” said Kallen as she noticed no more sound came out of the figure “LELOUCH!” she screamed as she ran over to him as her sanity came back and she threw her gun down “LELOUCH! PLEASE DON'T DIE I'M SORRY!” she screamed as she knelt next to the figure to see that it was just a manikin “what the?” she asked before she saw the world go black “You didn’t need to shoot her with the dart” said Lelouch as he emerged from the bushes with a walkie-talkie towards the unconscious Kallen and picked her up “She might of shot you” said CC as she walked up next to him “CC….” responded Lelouch as he finally grabbed around Kallen in a more stable position to hold her “What now?” questioned CC “We take her with us, so I can finally talk to her alone” replied Lelouch “your okay with that right?” he quickly added “You know as long as you stay with me it is okay, but if you run off with her….you’re a dead man” said CC chuckling, Lelouch then began to laugh “No, seriously if you run off with her your dead, but I don’t mind sharing” she said with a strict tone then a more playful one as Lelouch's face dropped “I always thought she was kinda cute” said CC brushing Kallen's face
