Chapter 3

As he pulled the younger man into the alleyway, he searched for an abandoned place to take him. It didn’t seem as if he would be blessed with such a discreet place to hide and so when he saw a small space in the wall opening up to a dead end, he took a turn into it and walked up to the brick wall at the very back and pushed Allen up against it. He brushed his hair aside with one hand and sighed when he saw the Exorcist glare at him from up against the wall. “I’m not going to hurt you.”

“That’s not what you said before, back in London…” Allen retorted, becoming a bit confused. “You said…”

Tyki growled, losing his temper again and he shouted, “The hell with what I said back in London! If I were going to really hold up to what I had said, you would have been dead the moment I realized it was you in the study!” Taking a moment to calm down, he looked away. “If you think you’re the only one who’s struggling with this, you’re not the only one…”

Allen opened his mouth to interrupt, but Tyki stopped him by covering his mouth. “Don’t speak…you can have your say after I have had mine. You and I…we feel something unnatural that shouldn’t be felt between an Exorcist and a Noah. What happened in London was, as it seemed. I was violating you because I thought it would be satisfying, since you have…frustrated me so much in the last few times we have met.” Tyki looked into Allen’s eyes and glared. “Especially after London. As a Noah, I’m not supposed to be as infatuated with an Exorcist as I am with you, but somehow I couldn’t convince myself to be anything but infatuated…” He gripped Allen’s chin, his hand still over the boy’s mouth. “You Exorcists worship that God that you believe in so enthusiastically, you are my natural enemy, our natural enemy. We were designed by some force to hate each other. Whether it is my God, or yours, I don’t know or care, but something created us to hate each other. Yet, no matter how many times I remind myself of the things that I should hate you for, I can’t believe it! I can’t hate you!”

Wrenching the hand from his mouth, Allen took a deep breath and asked, “Do you think I haven’t felt something similar?!”

“At first I did, but then when I heard you say what you did back at the mansion, I realized it was quite the opposite!” The Noah answered immediately and bit his lip, quickly looking away before looming over Allen again and changing his tone to a whisper, talking quickly to him to get out what he could, knowing that it was getting later and later by the minute; it would be dawn soon and he couldn’t let it come without resolving this matter first. “You came, to test whether or not I didn’t kill you because I couldn’t kill you. Am I right?”

Allen didn’t answer, but looked away and Tyki continued. “You asked, what kind of a Noah has mercy on an Exorcist, when he knows it’s wrong, and I still can’t give you an answer. I can’t seem to figure it out completely, but the closest I can get, is that your strength is what draws me in. I don’t have that strength, and maybe…it’s my way of getting close to that force that I can’t attain.” Tyki made Allen look back up at him. “Tell me, Allen, what is your reasoning for what you feel?”

There was no answer for a moment, but Tyki made himself stay calm and wait, despite the fact that he knew there wasn’t much time for it. He kept his eyes on the younger man, not to pressure him, but to watch him. The look on his face was gentle, but with strong features and the ability to still smile. Tyki felt a small shred of envy in him, that he had all the ability of these emotions as a complete human. To love, hate, cry, and to be gentle and kind so easily. Just watching him calculate in his head was calming Tyki, making it easier to keep his temper. Unable to help himself, he leaned forward, slowly and with a bit of hesitation and pressed his lips to Allen’s forehead, his fingers moving to his hair and feeling the soft white tresses that felt so well taken care of at his fingertips. Allen tilted his head up and let Tyki continue to kiss him softly, relaxing as his fingers ran through his hair over and over again. There was a soft sigh from the young Exorcist and Tyki felt arms slowly come up and wrap around his waist, hugging him softly to encourage him a little. “I…I like that side of you that is human. I think that you’re so human, compared to the other Noah, that it draws me in…”

Tyki stopped kissing Allen’s head and pulled back, looking down at him with a pained look. “Are you so sure about that now? I don’t think I’m so human anymore, since you attacked me with that Innocence of yours…”

The young boy shook his head. “You wouldn’t be standing here, speaking with me if that were true. You’re still more human than Rhode or any of the Noah’s could ever be.”

That statement made Tyki feel better somewhat and he couldn’t help but smile down at Allen. For the first time since he had met him, he smiled genuinely and sweetly. It felt strange and out of place on his face so he dropped it immediately, feeling a bit awkward. He heard Allen chuckle and sighed while leaning forward again, pressing his forehead against the other’s. “I guess you’re right…but I can’t help feeling all those urges that make me a Noah. They make me feel less human every day…”

Never before, had Tyki said this to anybody else. Partly because his pride wouldn’t let him admit that he wanted to be human still and connect with humanity in a way that he couldn’t as a Noah battling in this war. Now, though, he wondered if he really liked being a Noah if it caused him so much pain. Allen’s fingers trailed along Tyki’s face up into his hair and he felt a soft pair of lips on his cheek then his chin and he breathed deeply, pulling Allen into him and holding him tightly while he kissed along sensitive areas on his neck. He felt happy, and he felt a caring and gentleness come over him that had never been there before. His Noah seemed to have quieted down for the moment and he didn’t feel those urges to kill and shred the smaller body he held to his body. If I were human…I could feel this way forever…Tyki thought as he turned his face to Allen’s and tilted his head up so he could look into his face. The young Exorcist’s eyes were brightened with passion and desire, and something clicked in Tyki’s mind. Somewhere deep inside of him, Tyki heard something break.

Through those cracks, his love overflowed. Without another moment of consideration, he took Allen’s lips deeply but softly, leaning Allen up against the wall again. The lips that he kissed were eager and replied with enthusiastic kisses of their own and Tyki growled deep in his throat. Warmth was spreading along his lower area and when Allen’s tongue slid in his mouth, creating a deeper and more sensual kiss, that warmth spiked and Tyki moaned into the boy’s mouth. Losing his patience to wait any longer, he picked Allen up by his shoulders and propped him up against the wall, taking his legs and wrapping them around his waist before beginning to work on his clothes. Allen protested a little, taking his lips back and stuttering out something that was inaudible to Tyki as he moved his mouth down to the pale neck and began sucking at Allen’s skin. To keep the teenager from protesting further, Tyki ground his hips up into the smaller ones up against the wall and shuddered with a groan when he found that he was starting to get excited as well.

Quieting down to soft moans, he no longer protested after that, and he let Tyki undo the cloak around his shoulders and then begin to work on his shirt underneath. He was merely wearing a dress shirt and pants with his boots, which was understandable to Tyki seeing as neither of them wanted to be recognized by anyone while meeting each other. Tyki was beginning to have second thoughts about doing this in such an unfavorable place, but they didn’t really have any other place to go. There weren’t many abandoned buildings in this small town and to go to an Inn would mean that his face would be seen with Allen’s. Not good. While unbuttoning Allen’s shirt, he sighed and looked at his face. “I’m sorry we’re doing this in a place like this…”

Allen nodded. “I…don’t like it much either, but we don’t have much choice. I understand…”

Tyki gave a small chuckle and kissed him again, his hand running under the open shirt and pulling it aside until he felt something strange. Allen’s chest didn’t have any blemishes before. This felt like a scar. Quickly pulling back, he looked down at the chest of the young Exorcist, finding a rather large scar running up the length of his torso, from hip to shoulder. “What…?” Tyki reached forward and touched it, a strangely familiar feeling running through him and causing a shiver to race down his spine. Something wasn’t right. For Allen to have a scar this familiar, it wasn’t right. Without thinking, he pulled a hand back and touched his chest, feeling a pulse coming from the scars there. Eyes wide, he looked up at Allen who was staring back with a surprised look. “Where did this come from?”

“I…I don’t want to talk about it.” The teenager replied and looked away.

Tyki growled and pulled Allen’s chin towards him again. “How did you get such a scar?!”

A bit irritated by Tyki’s sudden forcefulness and anger, he shoved the hand aside. “It’s none of your business! Besides, why do you care? Am I not worth fucking now because I’m marred?!”

“Do you not even remember what you did to me?” Tyki asked and set Allen on his two feet and pulled his shirt apart, ripping off buttons but not caring as he exposed his scarred chest to the younger man. Immediately looking away in shame and hurt, Allen made no move to answer him. “Why do they look the same, Allen?”

It may have been the surprise that Tyki had used Allen’s name in such a sincere manner that made him look up at the Noah, but he looked at him and stared a minute at the scars. “I…” He shook his head. “I don’t want to talk about it.”

Sighing in aggravation, Tyki began talking it out, wondering if he could get an answer that way. “There aren’t many weapons that I have seen that can make the kind of scar you’ve given me. How did you get one like that? It couldn’t be your Innocence, because that wouldn’t leave anything behind unless you had something evil in you…something like an akuma or a Noah in you…”Allen twitched when Tyki said this last part and realization surfaced in Tyki’s mind at the reaction. It can’t be…Tyki thought, staring numbly at Allen. “A-Allen?”

“What?” He spat bitterly, looking up at Tyki now. There was resentment and anger in his eyes, but it wasn’t directed at Tyki, it was towards something else.

Tyki swallowed hard and reached down carefully, running his fingers over the scar. “Did this happen…because you have the fourteenth in you?”

That resentment built up in Allen’s eyes until they shone with a deadly anger. Though it wasn’t wise to be speaking to his enemy about such a delicate matter, he was too angry to care and hissed back, “What if it did? What of it, Tyki Mikk?!”

Taken aback by this sudden burst of anger from the normally quiet boy, he didn’t know what to say. Instead, he touched his cheek and was shrugged off immediately. “I…”

Looking away angrily, Allen tried shoving Tyki away from him, but the Noah didn’t move. Heaving a sigh, he leaned against the brickwork and muttered stubbornly, “Let go of me.”

Tyki shook his head. He reached up again and pulled Allen close to him. The fourteenth was a touchy spot for Allen, which made the fact that he was harboring the fourteenth obvious. Feeling another push against his chest, the Noah held tighter, whispering for Allen to calm down. Not moving any more, Allen relaxed against Tyki’s body and began breathing deeply, but Tyki couldn’t relax with him. His mind was working and trying to wrap around the fact that Allen had the fourteenth in him. It had always been possible, but the reality of it happening never surfaced in Tyki’s mind. Running his fingers through Allen’s hair, he thought a moment longer and he wondered if the fourteenth was part of the reason he was so attracted to Allen. It made sense, since the fourteenth was a Noah, and Tyki was a Noah. Perhaps, the Noah inside Allen was also affecting his interests, and gearing him towards Tyki because of it’s own interests. “Allen…do you think that the reason we feel this way…is because of the fourteenth?”

There was a moment of silence as Tyki held Allen who began to stiffen and shake in his arms. “The fourteenth? Is that what you came up with?” Allen glared up at Tyki and shoved him back, breathing heavily and shaking with anger and waiting for an answer. Tyki couldn’t find anything to say. Allen was angrier than he had ever seen him and Tyki was even more surprised when he continued after not receiving an answer. “Why the fourteenth?! Why is it the fourteenth’s fault I feel this way?”

“Well…I wouldn’t say it’s the fault of the fourteenth.” Tyki began calmly and gently, “We’re both Noahs. I thought it was a common ground that attracted us together.”

“So that means that the fourteenth was all you cared about, a-a-and what about me?! How is the fourteenth involving me in all this?!” Allen was yelling now and Tyki came forward to try and quiet him down, but the boy moved away. “No…no, tell me! Why the fourteenth? Can’t I feel how I feel without anybody’s influence?!”

Tyki sighed and ran his fingers through his long hair. “I’m not saying you can’t, Allen.”

Shaking his head, he pointed a finger accusingly at him. “That’s a lie. You’re saying the same thing that everyone else at the Black Order is. They’re all afraid that he’ll take over and I won’t be able to stop him. None of them think I’ll be able to fight against it and it’s like they don’t believe I’m my own person anymore!”

“Calm down, Allen.” He hissed, pressing him against the wall. “It was merely an idea, I never meant anything by it…”

“Yes you did.”

“God damn it will you stop accusing me?!” Tyki growled. Not listening, Allen began to slip by Tyki but he grabbed his arm. “Why are you throwing a tantrum, boy?!”

Yanking on his arm, Allen muttered under his breath, "Don't young boys throw tantrums, Tyki Mikk?"

“Don’t be smart with me, I’m trying to figure this out, I’m trying to be nice and not upset you, and I’m trying…I’m trying to show you…” Tyki trailed off and put his hand to his face. “I’m failing miserably…”
There was a pause but Allen didn’t relax himself. He only looked at Tyki with a look of confusion and a little bit of guilt. “Don’t say things that will confuse me.”

In aggravation, Tyki threw Allen’s arm back at him and glared, fully fed up with Allen’s disbelief in him. “Go back to the Order…” He put his hands in his pockets and turned, stepping on the air and slowly walking up to the rooftop. “I’m tired of this…”

“So you’re tired of me?” Allen’s voice was quick to ask and also held a more accusing tone than ever before. “You’re going to leave me while this is all unresolved.”

“This isn’t all about you!” Tyki turned in the air and towered over Allen, staring down at him from the few extra feet that had been to his advantage. “You never used to be such a whining young man, Allen. What happened?”

With a huff, the Exorcist looked away. “I’m not whining. I just don’t want to be used and tossed aside like this.”

The Noah looked up at the sky and then down at Allen again. “How have I used you?” Walking back down the invisible set of stairs, Tyki waited for his answer. The boy struggled for a long while before finally giving up. He looked at Tyki and the look was helpless and sad. In order to keep from giving in and holding him in his arms, he had to look away. “Do you not have an answer?”

Allen shook his head and Tyki nodded in confirmation. The teenager looked around a minute then whispered, “I don’t want to go back just yet.”

“I don’t care. Go…” Tyki ordered, finding it in him to look back and brave that sad and heart wrenching look that hurt him down in the deepest part of him. “I’m tired of always being accused of hurting you, or abusing you. There’s no way I’ll be able to help you or myself in this matter if I’m just letting myself be accused over and over again. I don’t care if it’s the fourteenth that’s bringing us together. All I want to know is what it is I feel for you. The lust in itself is bad enough between an Exorcist and a Noah, but there’s something else I’m feeling that’s far more dangerous and deadly for me to be carrying around. I thought if I figured out what brought us together, I might be able to figure out what I’m feeling. If I don’t, then I may go insane with it…”

Tyki looked at Allen and was startled when his eyes caught the teenager’s. His eyes were wide and he stared at Tyki as if he had never seen this side of him before. “Tyki Mikk…that’s love.”
