The Calm
Chapter 37: Someone~*~*~*~*~*~
*And if you could make up
For every single time you lied, I’d probably whisper this*
Faye was at the door when they arrived. There was a wild look in the emerald depths of her eyes. She examined each one of them, checking for the source of the blood that stained their clothes, only to be stopped by Spike.
“It’s not our blood,” he said softly.
*Hello, goodbye*
James was there in an instant, but, unlike Faye, his eyes held calm, a calm that only years of death and blood could create. Both Spike and Sith could feel the sadness that he was carrying within, could see it in those serenely cerulean orbs as he pried Faye from her death grip on Spike’s arms. Spike seemed to have not noticed, even as she clawed him, tearing his skin slightly.
*And so it begins again*
“She’s alive?” James asked the question that seemed to hang in the air like stagnant smoke.
Spike nodded. “She’s alive,” he choked out.
James let out a breath that he didn’t know he was holding. “Thank God.”
“She’s in bad shape, James,” Sith stated, her voice seemed worn, as though she was spread thin, her usually strong voice, on the verge of breaking.
*Harder each and every time
I start to reminisce
I never get to seem to ever find*
“How bad?” Faye asked.
Before either could speak, James held up a palm. “Wait. Go clean up, eat something, and get your strength ‘fore you tell us. I can hardly manage Faye ‘ere, don’t need you two passing out on me.”
Sith gave James a grateful look; something that could not be there, were she not so tired and heavy with emotion. Spike nodded and headed for the room he and Faye shared, Faye following him. The siblings just stared at one another for a moment. Both looked nothing alike, save the eerie calm in their eyes. James then smiled and nodded to the younger woman, the woman that had once been is little sister.
*Some one I can trust
Someone I believe
Someone who will never try
To bring me to my knees
Someday I will find again
Someone just like me
Someone who will take the time
In understanding me*
Sith seemed to collapse then, all the strength she had used up to keep a level head in the eye of this wicked storm. She fell into his arms, allowing herself, for the first time in a long time, to let someone else be strong. She wept then, as he carried her to the room she and Vicious shared. The man himself, still staring blankly at the ceiling. He sat her down on the toilet of her bathroom, turning away from her to run a bath. She watched him with unreadable and sorrowful eyes as he went through the motions of caring for her. She kept her eyes trained on him as he peeled her sullied clothes from her body and tossed them aside, before lifting her again and placing her in the comforting warmth of the bat
*
*And if you could make up
For every single tear I’ve cried, I’d probably never miss
Your hand in mine*
Gently, he unbraided her hair, let it soak into the water as he washed her pale, stained skin with a black cloth. He stayed silent throughout, as did she, her body incapable of words. No one had ever done anything like this for her without an ulterior motive. Even the woman that she loved so dearly, the woman that lay in a coma where she left her, had never done anything like this before. But James did.
*I never could understand
Mistakes I repeat again
I’ve been through this so many times
I never seem to ever find*
“Why?” she asked finally. Unable to stop her mouth.
James locked his eyes with hers. “Your my lil’ sis.”
“That doesn’t make any sense.”
James smiled. “You don’t ‘ave to be strong for me. I don’ expect that.”
*Some one I can trust
Someone I believe
Someone who will never try
To bring me to my knees
Someday I will find again
Someone just like me
Someone who will take the time
In understanding me*
“You’re still not makiny sny sense to me.”
*I’ve stopped searching
To take my time and completely clear my mind
I believe it was meant to be
And I feel it’s time to go*
James paused. “I know…. You saved ‘er. You saw what they did to her, the results of what they did to ‘er. You carried ‘er, I know you enough, I know Spike enough, you were the level ‘eaded one. You ‘ad to be strfor for ‘im. Am I right so far?”
*Some one I can trust
Someone I believe
Someone who will never try
To bring me to my knees
Someday I will find again
Someone just like me
Someone who will take the time
In understanding me*
Sith nodded.
James sighed. “Well, lil’ sis, now I’m being strong for you,” he stated as he returned to his previous job of cleaning the dried blood from her body.
*And never leave*
Sith just stared at him, her eyes still unreadable, and shimmering with unshed tears. James locked his eyes with hers again and just smiled softly.
*And never scream*
“It’s my fault,” she whispered.
*Some one who believes*
James shook his head. “No… It’s Julia’s fault. And she’s going to reap the consequences.”
*Never lies to me*
Sith’s eyes flashed violet at the sound of Julia’s name. “Yes,” she said in Miana’s voice, “she is.”
*And would die for me*

Levii: Yo my ppls! god, that sounded sad. Anyways! Here be a (Natakamani approved) moment between Sith and James. I thought I needed to elaborate a bit on what they're relationship is and what I hope it to be. The song took a bit to find, but I think it fits perfectly with the chapter. Oh, and don' worry, Julia will be getting her comuppance, I'm just going to tweak my idea a bit to make it perfect. I hate that bitch so I'm going to make sure she gets what's coming to her. Muahahaha! (rubs hands together evilly)
Anyways, I actually found it a necessary moment. I mean, Sith it taking on a shit load here. Vicious, for one, is catatonic and that can't be easy to deal with when one of the ppl you lean on takes a trip to 'happy fun land' at the worst time. Not to mention that when they found Amaya and brought her to the hospital, Spike needed her to be strong. And she complied and never broke down (yay Sith!). Now that she's back at the apartment, she's gonna have to deal with an emotional Faye(never a fun job), the kids (stressful enough without the other shit), Spike (well that's just self explanitory) and a still catatonic Vicious. I figured that, seeing as how I've neglected James as of late, and he's her older brother. He feels its necessary that he help Sith bear her burdon. (being an older sibling, I understand that urge) Not to mention, out of the lot of this group, he seems the least mentally screwed up (hopefully).
Ah, well, REVIEW and tell me your thoughts guys! REVIEEEEEW! Much love and a really really big cookie to all!
