Shun got to his feet, turning away from Hasukawa as he
brought his hands up to rest on the sides of his head.  Breathing deep
gulps of air, he turned slightly, casting a glance to the door before composing
the rest of his thoughts.  "I know it's all a mystery to you . . .
after all, it's like we've all been lying to you these last few years.
And Kami, Suka, for that I am so unbelievably
sorry.  I can do nothing more than apologize . . . but, but I've been the
same person and I still am . . . and I do
love you, Suka-chan. . .

"These last few days have forced me to realize what
I was and who I felt what about." He swallowed, a shaky breath coming from
his as he turned to face Suka.  Once his eyes fell upon Kazuya's intent
face he fell apart, dropping down to his knees in an instant.

"Shun!" Suka stepped forward, kneeling down to
grab Shun's shoulders.  He bit back a bitter sob, not allowing himself to
look into he redhead's searching eyes.  "Shun. . . I know that none
of this was your fault; please don't blame yourself. . ."

"I just wish that I could say all this under
different circumstances. . ." Shun whispered.

            "Don't worry. I won't leave you. . . I was out
thinking for a while. . . I've come to realize a few things myself."
Settling down on his knees before his roommate, his relaxed his grip slightly
before continuing.  "All those times we've spent together haven't
changed, I can't fault you or anyone for what happened.  The 'you' back
then is still the 'you' who you are now.  And I still want to be friends
with who that is!" He managed a smile, tipping Shun's face to look up at
him.  Kisaragi, however, still frowned as he swept the hair from his eyes.

"But that's not all," Kisaragi persisted.
"When I said I loved you I meant it. Not including all the great times
we've spent together in the past, this last week has shown me that not only do
I love you for who you are, but that I'm attracted to you, too." He wiped
at his eyes, sniffing a few times.  "Do you see. . . ? Suka-chan. . .
I want to spend the rest of my life with you, I know it!  It hurt every
time you said it to me, too, because I knew it was because you thought I was something
different—"

"No!" Suka suddenly shouted, making Kisaragi
stiffen under his grip.  "That's not true at all!  You weren't
anything different!  If I said anything, it was because of what's inside.
Shun, ever since the summer. . ."

            "Then. . . ?"

Hasukawa's eyes widened, mouth dropping open a bit as he
was overcome by the look of someone walloped with a twenty pound sack.
"Then. . . everything I said I meant. I mean, that morning I woke up after
I banged my head . . . it felt like I was finally thinking straight." He
reddened a little, swallowing back a knot in his throat. "Shun-chan, I've
had such a crush on you. . ." Kazuya smiled again, a gentleness appearing
in his eyes as he shook his head to clear the fuzz from the total mind blow he
had.  "I mean, after all, y'look the same
so I still think you're pretty cute for—"

            "Oh damnit, Suka-chan, say
it!" Shun whined, shutting his eyes tight.

Taking a breath he sat back a little, hands sliding down
to rest on his arms.  "Shun-chan. . . I love you, too. And I guess I
always had. After all, I never once wanted to leave your side since I came to w:st="on">Greenwood.  You're my
best friend; I'm just glad to be around you." Shun's eyes opened, the glow
of tears still streaming as he suddenly found the power to smile.
Grinning, Hasukawa still gripped Shun's arm, the two as relaxed as water.

"My feelings for you haven't changed. I've always
liked you and ever since we came back from the summer we spent at your inn,
I've always felt something weird . . . because you never changed from being who
you are.  All this did to me was make me come to
terms with it.  After all, it made you
realize the truth as well, right?"

            "R-right," Shun tried chuckling, nearly
breaking into a sob again.

"Believe me," he said softly, stroking his
right arm a little, "as far as I can tell, everything I felt during that
time I had felt before to my accident and will always feel." Blushing, he
stopped the motion, sitting back on his feet again.  "class=SpellE>Sh
-shun . . . I. . ." Kisaragi reached up with a
quivering finger, a wide smile on his face, what tears remaining freely falling
as he finally succeed in a laugh.

            "Thank you, Suka-chan . . . I love you, too."
