The shadowy figure clinches her fists in the dark office. Two of her officers had been killed. Two of her children were killed as well. Apparently, Korskov's machine had now taken a new form. If Skynet was now back in the game then it was going to be more difficult to do what she wanted to do to those heroes. She would have to watch and wait for the right moment.

"Where am I?" Lee asks himself looking around at his surroundings. It was a rocky, desolate place with a white sky. Visibility wasn't great, but Lee could see enough in front of him. It seemed that this place was blanketed with a permanent dense fog. He starts heading in the direction of a structure made of the same brown stone when he felt the earth under him shake. He runs and manages to escape before the large rock golem explodes to the surface. Lee gets some distance between himself and his attacker. Before he could even think of a way to defend himself, the rock golem leaps into the air. Lee runs again and the golem lands making the rock surge with seismic energy. Lee is knocked off his feet so he rolls away. 'How can I beat this thing? I don't have any of my powers.'

"That's the trouble with secret rouge agencies, they make sure their computer systems can't be hacked into." Skynet muses as he pulls himself from the terminal in the secret lab he'd been in. He had tapped into every governmental computer in an attempt to find out about this 'Section 32', but the only hints he could gather was data about a security agency who answered to no one government. "Well, I guess I've got to get myself to Readington. I've got some old friends to look up." and with that, he powers down the lab and makes his way to the surface.

Lee was cornered and he knew it. He was near the edge of a high cliff with the golem no less than fifty feet away.
'Why doesn't he charge me? All he does is jump into the air and crashes back down...,that's it! He'll jump back into the air in order to crush me. Once I know that he's committed himself I'll wait until the last possible second and run in the direction he jumped from. Hopefully I'll be able to get away and this living lump of rock will fall off the cliff.' Lee thinks and the golem bends its legs readying itself to jump. When it was up in the air, Lee starts running towards where the golem had been before it had jumped. Hearing a roar, Lee turns to see the golem fall off the cliff. He falls to one knee breathing hard. He doesn't notice the brown aura surrounding his body which was quickly turning green.

"Well now, I didn't think the boy had it in him." Spinner notes.
"He'll do anything if it'll help Sakura. The boy is stubborn when Sakura is involved. But, he's still got two tasks left to do." Eli states.

The young mage enters the stone structure cautiously. After the rock golem's attack, Lee was being more careful. He then feels a presence and turns to see a figure clad completely in white with a sword and a shield.
"Who are you? And where am I?" Lee asks. The figure in white stands calmly waiting for something. Lee sighs and tries to head further in, but the figure blocks him.

'Ah, Readington, what a quaint little town.' Skynet thinks disembarking from the gate and heads out of the airport. 'They think I'm just some tourist...,humans are so easily tricked. Now, I must find my 'friends.' Skynet muses and begins to scan for abnormal human readings.

'Why does everything attack me here?' Lee asks once again having his sword strike blocked by the white warrior's shield. Lee gets some distance between himself and his foe and decides to try his magic. "Element...,fire!" but no flames came out. "Ok, element...,lightning!" but like last time nothing happened. 'what am I doing wrong? Why can't I call forth fire or lightning? Wait,' Lee realizes and tries again. "Element, earth!" and this time seismic energy shoots towards Lee's opponent. The white figure lifts his shield up and a dome of light protects the figure.
'Now what?' Lee frantically thinks. 'This thing's all defense. He hasn't attacked me at all. If I can get rid of his shield then I might have a chance.'

'Man, it takes me three hours to find one mage and a vampire in this town. Sian chose a dirty part of town to get an apartment.' Skynet says coming to the building. The android makes his way up to the floor Sian was staying and knocks on the door.

"Who'd be stupid enough to knock on our door?" Sian asks.
"Don't know, but I hope it'll give me a meal out of it." Akurax says and opens the door.
"Good to see you again, Akurax." Skynet says morphing out of his human disguise.
"What the hell!?" Akurax shouts.
"Skynet. I should have known you would return." Sian says coming to stand beside Akurax.
"That was very rude of you to go and get yourselves killed, but I see why you did it. Nice body." Skynet comments.
"What do you want android?" Sian asks.
"A new triumvirate." Skynet states.
"Why should we trust a machine?" Tarsis, who had been watching the conversation from the shadows, asks.
"You got yourself another underling...,I'm impressed." Skynet says grinning with his silver teeth showing.
"You killed your creator. What would stop you from killing us?" Sian asks.
"Face it Sian, we need each other. You may be good with magic, but Karthing's devices along with the magic will overwhelm you."
"Fine, but the moment you think of double crossing us I'll personally put you in the void card." Sian firmly states.

The shield was cracking. Lee's strategy of attacking the shield was working. Then, the shield finally broke into halves. The figure in white fades and white energy engulfs Lee.

"Test two has been completed. Now Lee must face himself." Eli states.
"What about your brother?" Spinner asks.
"Hmmmm, let's see...,uh oh, looks like we've got more trouble. If they attack I'll have to wait until Lee finishes his third task."
"Are you sure he can do it?"
"He's my cute little descendent, he'll pull through."

'My powers are back...,but I'm still here. I know now that this is some sort of testing grounds, but I've past the trials. I've regained my magic...,' Lee's thoughts are interrupted by a strong gust of wind smashing him into a stone wall. He gets to his feet to see himself wearing his ceremonial robes, however the coloration was darker. Everything about this other Lee was darker.
"Look at yourself. Your connections and emotions for the card mistress has made you weak. You're not strong enough to face Sian again, so how are you going to defeat yourself?" the dark Lee asks.
"If you knew anything then you'd know that my strength comes from my love for Sakura." Lee replies readying his sword.
"Do you really think she really loves you? She didn't notice you until just before you were to leave Readington. Face it, she loved Julian first and all you are now is second best."
"Shut up!" Lee shouts and the swords meet with a loud 'clang'.
"You're nothing but a shadow of what you once were when you had the cards. If you'd been smart, you'd have begged Yue to judge Sakura first and watched her fail before facing him yourself.(1) You had a task to complete and you should have done it at any cost, even if it meant the defeat of your precious Sakura."
"I went first because Yue forced the issue with me. My family never prepared me for Yue so no matter what would have happened I still probably would have lost."
"She's your weakness and Sian will expose it." the dark Lee growls and parries Lee's attack.
Element, earth!" Lee calls forth in order to knock his dark copy off his feet. This starts an exchange of elements between the two. Then, Lee was once again knocked against a stone wall. The dark copy approaches and lifts his sword.
"Valiant effort,but it's all for not. You now shall parish here." he says and brings the sword down in a arc that would smash Lee's head in. The sword however finds a new home in the stone wall. The dark copy feels Lee's sword pierce his left side.
"Element, light!" Lee cries and the dark version of himself is engulfed in light. When the dust settles, Lee sees that his darker self had vanished. He let's out a sigh of relief only to feel a teleportation spell snatch him up.

Sian smirks looking at the downed fighters. Their appearance had been a surprise to the foolish heroes, especially when Josh found out that Skynet was still functioning. Now all Sian had to do was choose which one to kill first, Sakura or his brother. Deciding to just wipe out the entire group in one felt swoop, he chants and a large black ball appears at the end of his staff.
"This is something new I've worked on brother. I call it the dome of death. Once you are encased in it, it starts to suck all the magic and life force from its victims. All your powers will be transferred to me and I will have won our war. It's been fun brother, but like all good things...,even you and the legacy of the cards had to end some time." he fires off the spell, but at the last second something happens to turn the tide.
"Element, light, come to their aid!"
"No," Sian says not believing what he just heard. His spell crashes harmlessly against a dome of light.
"Lee," Sakura quietly says.
"What does it take to get rid of you!?" Sian shouts.
"Did you not think I wouldn't be prepared for such a trick, dear brother?" Eli taunts getting back to his feet. "Lee could try only once, but once he succeeded at the three trials, even what you did to him to take away his powers in the first place will no longer work a second time."
"This isn't over! I will see you fall for this!" Sian shouts and he, Akurax, Tarsis, and Skynet disappear in a teleportation spell. Eli smiles seeing Lee holding Sakura with the rest of the group surrounding him.
'They're whole again, but can we all face what's to come next?' Eli ponders.

Author's Ramblings

Yes, I know, this part has been a long time coming. The first one to guess where Lee's very first task comes from will get a cookie in the next part. Hopefully I can get this up on both the GA and aff.net in a timely fashion.
