too late?
The words echoed through her mind. She couldn\'t quite process them fully. What did he mean get off? His eyes were so cold and impatient as she stared at him, her vision becoming blurry due to the tears welling up inside of her green orbs. She just didn\'t understand, it had been so long, and she had waited... for him. Hadn\'t he waited for her too?
Again his words reached her ears, but she couldn\'t hear them. The words were too painful to even begin to comprehend, but Amon would have none of that. Roughly he grabbed her shoulders, fingers digging in, and threw her to the ground and from his lap. The impact didn\'t hurt nearly as much as the action itself and swiftly Robin looked up to meet the dark eyes of the one she so desperately loved. What she saw was truely terrifying.
Blackness, devoid of anything remotely kind. He looked like an animal, wild and terrified. His eyes were shining with a crazy insanity she had never witnessed, and it scared her. This wasn\'t the Amon she knew, this was a broken man, a man damaged by the cruelty of the world. Still too stunned to move by what she saw, she merely layed upon the floor as Amon in only a blanket stalked off toward her door.
He seemed to realize that he was without clothes and quickly turned upon her, eyes blazing, burning into her body with their intensity. \"Where are my clothes?!\" he barked, stalking back toward her. Her eyes widened and suddenly her body came to life, quickly she stumbled to her feet, seeking to put distance between the irrate man in front of her. Amon however was far too quick, and was upon her just as she got to her feet.
Robin felt his large hands wrap themselves around her shoulders and she was turned around violently, coming face to face with a very angry Amon. \"Where are THEY!\" he screamed shaking her.
Robin was terrified, she had never seen him like this. The tears came once again, and poured freely down her face as he continued to scream and shake her. Words wouldn\'t come to her, she was too overwhelmed and this only angered him further. He soon tired of her crying and dropped her once again to the ground.
Robin could only sit and cry as she watched him stalk around her home, searching for his clothes. He didn\'t even seem to realize that he had been soaked and of course his clothes would be in possibly a dryer, instead she witnessed his insanity take over him as he began turning things over in his anger. Soon her living room was reduced to a room heaped with overturned furniture and broken glass.
\"Amon... Amon.. please...\" she murmured, picking herself up, carefully walking toward him as he began his assault upon her tiny kitchen. She could hear the breaking of dishes and as she neared she saw the result of the noise. All of her china had been cast upon the floor and the contents of most of her cupboards was laying upon the broken glass. There was more on her floor than just glass... there was blood. Slowly she cast her green gaze to Amon and looked upon his frantic form. His feet were cut along with other gashes upon his body from where the glass had touched him. More tears came to her as she saw this and frantically made her way toward him. He tensed as he felt her hands upon his shoulder and slowly he turned to face her.
He had no idea were he was anymore. This girl that stood in front of him was yet another reminder of what he couldn\'t have in his life. Tears poured down her face, from those flaming green eyes that were so similar to his Robin\'s. Robin... no this couldn\'t be her! It just couldn\'t.
Frantically he tried to get away from her, feeling cornered against the cupboards and countertop. He brushed passed her roughly, nearly knocking her down in his haste to get passed her. Then he heard it, the sound of the dryer going... that must be where his clothes were. Clumsily he stumbled down the stairs, ripping open the door to the dryer, grabbing his clothes out before they even had time to stop tumbling. Hurriedly he rushed to put them on, but his body wouldn\'t cooperate with him, he was shaking so hard from the wear and tear of the evening. At last he managed to get them on somewhat and turned quickly to the sound of soft footsteps coming close to him.
There she stood, her long black dress flowing around her as she stood motionless on the stairs, gazing at him, tears continuing to pour down her face. \"Amon...\" he heard her whisper, \"Amon please... come back upstairs and let me clean you up.\" she murmured, beginning to walk toward him yet again.
NO! he didn\'t want her near, this temptress who taunted him with her sweet words and sweet voice, this was NOT Robin. She was dead and was never coming back! Angrily he growled at her, and marched right past her and into the living room once again. She was close at his heels too, he could feel the heat of her presence at his back. Without even grabbing his shoes he stalked to the door, ripped it open, and proceeded out into the night once again barefoot.
\"Amon... you CANT go outside!\" she yelled, grabbing his arm as he cleared the doorway. Her touch was warm on his arm and it seemed to seep through his entire being. He honestly couldn\'t deal with that. Her so close, reminding him of what he could never have... would never have in his lifetime. Slowly he turned around to face her eyes wild with fury, burning with a fire all their own.
\"Let go of me! Right NOW!\" he yelled, ripping his arm from her grip, sending her toppling against the door frame. STumbling down the stairs of her porch, he could feel the rain once again greet his tired body. The blood from his cuts only poured more as he tried to steady himself, but the earth seemed to move every which way as he tried to walk away from the house he was once in. He needed distance, he couldn\'t be there anymore, he couldn\'t deal with that woman. Her eyes, he could still feel those firey green eyes burning into his body, as if they could look straight into his soul.
A wetness began to form in his own grey orbs, slowly falling at the stress of the night. A woman had come to haunt him, and he couldn\'t deal with it this time... not this time. Angrily he whipped around to face her, and found her stopped on the edge of her porch.
\"WHY! WHY! You look just like her. Am I being punished? I can\'t do this anymore. I can\'t go on this way.\" he screamed, throwing his arms out to the wind, feeling it cut at his already exhausted body.
She merely stood there, gazing at him, her own tears mirroring his as they both wept silently. \"Amon please...\" she murmured for the millionth time that night.
\"Please come inside, don\'t go.\" she whispered, walking out into the rain slowly trying her best not to send him into another panic. Her fellow partner had been through so much. He had thought she died, and she know he blamed himself.
\"It wasn\'t your fault Amon,\" she whispered, stopping as he began to back away from her. \"Amon... I didn\'t die, I got out and I went to Nagira... I went but you were gone!\" she yelled, trying desperately to get the man retreating from her to stop.
Nagira was all it took. His brother, no stranger would know his brother. Stopping suddenly, he turned facing her, eyes wide with realization. It was Robin. He stared carefully at her. She was taller than she once was and much more grown up. Her wet hair clung to her soft face and a gently smile had spread itself upon her lips. Those eyes burned with a gentle fire, warming him as reality at last reached his dazed mind.
His tears stopped, and a smile graced his own face. Time seemed to stop for the two of them as they shared a silent moment of peace that they hadn\'t known for the past few years.

They had found each other, at last. Robin couldn\'t believe it, she had at last gotten to him. Then she heard it, the sound of a car horn. Bright light blurred her vision and she watched horrified as the love of her life turned his dark head quickly, just soon enough to see he was about to be hit. In one instant he was standing completely within her reach and the next he was sent through the air as the car that hit him came to a screeching stop.
She could swear her heart stopped in her very chest as she watched Amon\'s limp body land upon the wet grass of her yard.
