"Because Ryuzaki told us to," Yagami answered.

"So if he told us to jump off a bridge..."

"No, of course not. We'd question him first. Then we'd jump." He laughed when Matsuda finally got it and punched him on the arm.

"Let's go back in." Yagami agreed, so they left the office building, walked across the street, and rode the elevator to the top of the hotel.

When Yagami saw his son, Raito, it was on the video screen locked up in a jail cell. "What's going on?" he demanded.

"He wanted to be locked up because he thinks he's Kira." Ryuzaki answered without looking away from the screens.

There was a pause long enough for Yagami to think, and for what Ryuzaki said to sink in. "Lock me up, too," he finally said.

"Wh-What?" Matsuda studdered.

"Yagami-san, I understand. But are you sure?"

"Yes," Yagami ssaid confidently.

"Very well. Matsuda, take care of him." Matsuda nodded, then brought Yagami down to a cell nowhere near his son.
