Going Dormant

Ryuuzaki had been going over the percentages in his head again about the likelihood of Light wanting to screw him. He was running over the information again and decided that, no matter his original intentions, it was near sixty-four percent likely now. Well, that is, before he got the distinct feeling that Light was avoiding him at all costs. They only spoke about the Kira case and only in front of the others in the team. This was always so because them being verbal about it was to keep the others informed. Otherwise, they usually were on the same wavelength. Yet Light seemed even more distant than usual and L could guess why. He knew it had to do with the fairly intimate moments they had shared with eachothers lips, however he didn't know if it was because Light was regretting it or embarrassed. His gut assumed regretting it and his mood didn't improve at all because of it. He was no longer stabbing defenseless fruit but he felt like his stomach was in a knot and it wasn't very pleasant. Half of him wondered if it was his fault that Light was having second thoughts. It was completely new to him but at the same time he remembered that Light had been practically fuming when thhey were so rudely interrupted.

L stopped dead in what he was doing but no one noticed as he thought about it from a different view. He's upset because he showed emotion because Kira should have no weaknesses... He had somehow entirely forgotten about Light being Kira for the last few hours. This was bad, he had made out with Kira. Suddenly, he agreed with Light. They should avoid such occurances from happening. It was one thing to imagine, you could pass it off as just that - a fantasy. However, if you actually did something it was a completely different story. It would bring in emotions, obligations... No, it is indeed better to leave it off where it has already stepped out of line. He thought, sort of depressed. Frowning, his percentage of how sure he was that Light was synonymous Kira went up by ten percent. He sighed aloud.

Light had indeed come to that thought but in the back of his head he kept asking himself how to figure out the damned investigator's gender. He didn't care, or at least that's what he told himself. In all actuality, he wished dearly he didn't care. Especially since he had just come up with the best way to figure out the answer. This, of course, was to sleep with L. Now, however, he was barred from doing so by his own reservations. He was angry at himself over this conflict of interests. It was well hidden but it was there. All of it came crashing down upon him painfully as he and Ryuuzaki were once again in the same room alone, the others having left to their homes. He could have left too but he really didn't feel like dealing with a certain model who fauned over him. He did note, relieved, that L had supressed himself and didn't jump on him as soon as Matsuda finally left after talking without reply for fifteen minutes about things that really didn't matter. He found, however, that he had been half hoping he did. He could tell this because in the back of his mind, he screamed at himself Who the fuck were you expecting? L doesn't do that kind of thing... Idiot. As he thought about it, he could tell that L was first and formost reserved. Secondly, L was a liar in actions and words. Thirdly, the man next to him never seemed to initiate things. His job and life revolved around analyzing and setting forth the proper reaction. He had never started the fights, the conversations (unless he actually had to to get anywhere). Whenever it seemed like he had begun something out of nowhere, it turned he was just picking up where others had left off or was defending other's innocence. Thinking he would fly into Light's arms as soon as the door clicked again as if nothing had bothered them in the first place was ridiculous.

"Your shoulders slant." Light said out of nowhere. He figured if he could figure this out then half his temptation would go away. "You have to be a guy.

"That makes me..."

"Male, women have straighter shoulders."

"Oh." Ryuuzaki smiled slightly. "I also crouch most of the time and sit in a particular way. Your shoulders would slant too if you constantly hunched over."

Damn it! He thinks of everything. He knew that what he was saying was horrible logic but he had to try it anyways. He was considering that he didn't have to sleep with L to figure out his gender. He could just randomly grope him but at the same time that would start the issue of temptation all over again and still he wouldn't put it past Ryuuzaki to get some sort of fake organs and put them in his pants for this particular reason. L was tricky and Light was perfectly aware of this fact, having fallen into his traps many times.

Yagami got up, frustrated. "I'm going home." He lied. He wasn't sure where he was going but he had to get out of here. As long as he was near L he'd only get more tempted and irrational. With that, he left the room. L watched him walk out of the building and away form it through the cameras. Ryuuzaki sighed verbally as he was left alone. He set his forhead on the deaks and closed his eyes. It really was a strange position for him but he felt it necessary. His knees dug painfully into his chest but it was a welcomed pain. He was pained to know something, I'm already attached. Saying he was in love was stupid because there was no proof of that. He knew, however, that something had drastically changed and he just wanted to be with Light. He wanted to touch him, talk to him, do anything with him. Or to him. Whether he was in love or not was irrelevant, it was just as bad if he had a little inkling of any positive feeling for Light. For Kira.

He knew it was impossible. Light was most likely trying to kill him. L looked at the notebooks locked up in bulletproof glass on the other side of the room. He could, he supposed, kill Light if he so chose. 'Yagami Light' would be all he had to write. This proved more than anything that he was attached, he couldn't evetryn are the thought of killing him. So it came down to a few options. He put his head back down upon the desk. "Kira, justice will prevail..." He chanted, trying to believe it.

Light was walking down the usy street. It was near midnight but he wasn't tired. He kept walking, turning randomly into different streets. He was vaguely aware of where he was but it really didn't matter to him. He ended up at some sort of restuarant and sat at the bar, ordering some warm sake. As he trank it, he mulled over his current situation. He had to find L's name fast before he got too attached to kill him. Even now, he didn't like the idea of it. Another sip led him to the conclusion that he could use it to his advantage and get L to fall in love with him, thus trusting him. However, the idea of betraying him was slightly sickening. Yet at the same time, he decided it was for the best. He had to get rid of L in order to save the world. Another sip and he hoped his determination would last the night. After a few decanters and he was thoroughly drunk he headed out the door, slowly making his way home. Misa was there when he was home but he didn't talk to her as she badgered him about where he had been. He went to bed, hoping nothing would wake him up early in the morning. He was dimly thinking that the longer he slept, the more postponed killing L was. Though it would take about the same time to get his name anyways. Tomorrow, he would make his move. He would both estatically and regrettingly make L fall in love with him. He was only afraid he'd fall in love as well.

The night carried on. L sat in the computer room staring blankly in front of him. It was somewhere near three in the morning but he didn't care. The cameras had been turned off for a couple hours now. The lock to the notebook had been successfully gotten rid of and he was staring at it, sitting in a computer chair. He was rapidly going over ideas in his head but they all came back to the same thing. He clicked the send button on the computer without even caring to look at the computer again. He stood up, almost dragging his feet. He reached out for the notebook, frowning.

Fufa's Notes:

Okay, so I know it's been awhile. Job and all that. I also went without internet for a few days because I was out of town unexpectedly. I know, you all are going to hate me because I haven't gotten to the sex. XD Ownt. I've basically decided I'm going to dive into deep alternate endings and stuff. The sex will be there... Eventually... I think. To be honest, I only know the ending - I have no idea how I'm going to get there. The ending will include their first time having sex, however, so it may be awhile. After that, I think I'll write a like five chapter epilogue that's nothing but smut. XD

To the pansexual (because I'm writing this offline so I don't remember your name), I'm pan as well. My original idea was to have L be just plain old bisexual but the fact of the matter is we all know L is more unique than that. And it's a good oppurtunity to make people look up and learn about pansexuality.

Hope you enjoyed this! D:
