Chapter 3- My Loss (continued)
Finally school was over and I was headed home to help Momma make dinner. As I was driving I realized that I hadn’t seen any of my brothers during the day, I hadn’t seen them since that morning. At once that feeling of dread was on me once again. As I got closer and closer to home that feeling grew. I found myself speeding to get come quicker.
I relaxed as I pulled into the drive way of the house, seeing that all of my brothers cars were there and that the lights inside the house were on.
I jumped out of the car, running inside to tell Momma about the strange feeling I’d had. But as I entered the house I realized that something was wrong. It was quiet, too quiet. There were no sounds of Papa watching Tv in the den, or Momma cooking the kitchen, my brothers upstairs in their bedrooms. “Momma, Papa!” I yelled walking slowly into the den then on through to the kitchen but as I walked into the kitchen I held back a scream. There where pots and pans all over the floor, the refrigerator door was open, the stove was on with water boiling over onto the counter. I ran up the back stairs to my brothers rooms. They were all the same, all torn apart, their things thrown all over their rooms, furniture thrown everywhere. I screamed as I walked into Erik’s room seeing that there was blood smeared across the keys of his piano.
I didn’t undertsnad. What had happened, where was my family. I walked up the stairs to the floor where my room was but as I walked into my room I realized that it was fine, everything was in its place, everything exactly where I had left it. All of a sudden everything kicked into place. My family had been kidnapped, my room hadn’t been touched because I wasn’t here. I ran down the stairs and back into the kitchen. I grabbed the phone and dialed 911. I waited nervously as the phone rang, trying to keep myself from panicing. Right as the operator at the police department answered the phone I got searing pain on my wrist, I gasp but ignored it trying to tell the operator that I need help, that my family was gone but before I could say anything I heard a voice behind me.
“You might not want to do that. There is a very very small chance that your family is still alive if you involve the police, involve anyone else, they’ll be dead within a matter of minutes.”
I dropped the phone and turned seeing the most beautiful boy I’d ever seen. He had beautiful green eyes, blonde sun kissed hair that was arranged messily on his head; giving him a “just got out of bed” look. But it was his pale; soft looking skin and his full lips that made him beautiful.
Even standing across the room I could see that he had a very muscular body and that if he wished to hurt me, he would have no problem.
He leaned against the opposite wall his arms folded across his chest with a smile on his lips.
“Who are you, Where’s my family?” I yelled taking a step closer to him; anger over powering my fear now.
He stayed silent as he walked up to me, picking me up and throwing me on his back. The next thing I knew we were outside and then he was running, faster than any human should. I watched as we moved through the forest never hitting any trees, never stopping. But soon my angert turned to fear and panic once more. Where is he taking me, was the last thought I had before everything went black.
