The chosen children were on their way to Cherbimon’s Castle at the Rose Morning Star in the Dark Continent. On there way they had gained a new power, fusion evolution and a new ally, Koji’s long lost brother Koichi who had gain the power of the true warriors of Darkness: Loewemon and JagerLoewemon. Together the six made their way onward only to stop when they encounter a new roadblock, standing in the middle of their path was four huge houses, one red, one light blue, one white, and one black. There was cliffs on either sides that almost merge at the top preventing flight as an option. As they got closer there stood two digimon, one look like a tiger except it had four heads, a tiger head, falcon head, a shark head, and a dragon head. It two tails one was that of a fox’s tail the other more of a wolf’s tail. It had giant falcon like wings and hind legs. The other digimon look almost human except for it’s dragon like head and tail. It was wearing a ceremonial robe and was carrying a large book that it was furiously reading. The two were arguing when the kids got closer to them.

“I still say that we should destroy these buildings,” the multiheaded beast said. “the longer we wait more of our children get sicker and those foolish to enter them goes insane for weeks and your book of knowledge doesn’t help seeing as you have yet to find anything!!!!”

“I realize the situation is grave,” the human like digimon said “but if you remember we tried that using our most powerful attacks at the same time, fusing them together and at our fullest power and it didn’t put a scratch on it, instead we barely dodge the return of our own attack!”

“Well it better than doing nothing.” the beast digimon said.

“WHY YOU!! I AM DOIN--- Oh my we have company!!!” the human digimon said noticing the children at last. “Hello there, we don’t get many visitors out here in the Dark Continent. I’m WiseDragoonmon one of two leader in our village that lies nearby. My companion here the other leader, please forgive us for arguing in front of you but we have a problem.”

“Yes he is right, I am EmperorChimeramon, please forgive our rudeness we didn’t see you,” EmperorChimeramon said turning to face them and gave them a bow, “I notice that you are humans and digimon in your group.”

“Don’t worry about it, we heard you saying you got problems,” Takuya said walking up to them “I’m Takuya, I’m sort of the leader of our group, so what wrong? Maybe we can help?”

“It’s these buildings they block our path to a source of necessary materials for our village.” WiseDragoonmon said.

“Yes and on top of that it seem to be the source of another problem that appeared when these things showed up so mysteriously, our children suffer from an illness that effects our children, making them weak and sick, many unable to digivolve to their next level,” EmperorChimeramon said “and as you have probably heard we have yet to come up with a solution to the problems attacks are useless they return the attacks.”

“And my book of ancient knowledge is of no use, nothing in my book speak of such a thing before,” WiseDragoonmon stated showing Takuya his book, “and worse anyone foolish enough to go in these buildings come back out stark raving mad and some almost dead. Our only clue to these buildings is a sign that is behind us but it is written in a language that neither of us are able to translate.”

“Mind if we take a look at it?” Bokomon asked, the two leaders nodded and step aside revealing the sign, written on wood it was as tall as Takuya, Bokomon and the others approach it while Takuya stayed by the leaders side. “Oh dear your right this writing is unknown to me it look alien to me.”

“That’s because it is written in human writing,” Tommy said “unfortunately I can’t read it because it isn’t Japanese, what about you guys?”

“Nope,” Koji said and Koichi nodded in agreement.

“Same here,” J.P said.

“I can read Italian words which this isn’t so I’m out too,” Zoey said.

“Let me see,” Takuya said walking up to the sign “Hmm, it reads ‘here lies spirits of ancient warriors bound by duty and magic waiting for one who is not of this world to take their power and knowledge to defeat a great evil that threatens the balance of the realms of living, spirits, and the mystical world of magiscience.’”

“Hey Takuya how is it that you can read that?” Zoey asked.

“Uh, hang on there more,” Takuya stated “it continue to read ‘that to acquire what the spirits have to give, one must not be of the realm these homes lies in, nothing of this realm must be allow to enter or the spirits will lash out at them and drive them insane even to death. But that alone will not be enough for one must enter the appropriate house, for if one is blesses by the spirits of flames, tries to enter the house of frozen water the same result would happens, one must also enter the houses at the same time not individually. One house is blessed by fire, one house is blessed by frozen water, two houses blessed by the twilight of dawn and dusk. Pass the trails inside and make it through the night and the prize is yours.’”

“Now how can you read that when we couldn’t?” Koji asked this time.

“It’s written in English,” Takuya said “I am half American, my mom from the U.S, if I remember correctly San Francisco, plus I’ve have relative who live in the U.S who send me letters all the time. So it‘s nothing to me.”

“So all we have to do is enter the house at the right time, enter the right house make it through the night and everything should be okay.” J.P said “So let’s do it.”

“Not that simple J.P” Takuya said “First of all we would have to leave our D-tectors here since they have the spirits of the legendary warriors in them and they are digimon, nothing from the digital world can enter them or they will go crazy. Second we need to figure out what all four houses represent since it only give out three clues. Then we got to hope we can match them.”

“Well it pretty obvious that you would enter the house blessed by fire and Tommy to enter the house blessed by frozen water, since that what ice is,” Zoey said “but which house? And what do they mean ‘Twilight of the dawn and dusk’ not very helpful if you ask me.”

“Hey maybe it’s refer to these symbols on the doors,” Tommy said pointing to the door which like Tommy stated had symbols carved into them. The red door had a fire symbol, the light blue door had a snow flake on it, both the white and black door both had what appear to be the sun on the horizons, except the black door’s sun had a second, but smaller, half circle carved on it with stars around it. “they might be the clue to which one we go into!”

“Your right and looking at this closely this symbol on the black door is really a moon,” Koichi said.

“Of course! Twilight means when light and darkness are one or beginning to merge,” Koji said “and dawn and dusk means the two point of a day when day and night meet. And the sun and the moon are symbols for day and night which symbols light and darkness which means me and my brother go into these houses.”

“Then let’s do it,” Takuya said handing his D-tector to Zoey and Tommy and the Twins followed suit and the four each stood in front of a door and together enter the four houses.

“May they be successful,” WiseDragoonmon said giving a bow to the four brave boys.

“Yes, good luck to them all.” EmperorChimeramon said also bowing his head.

Tommy enter his house and the first thing he notice was that it was cold. Very cold, so cold Tommy was for certain that he would catch a cold. Tommy looked around in the room which was empty except for a fireplace and a sign. He walked up to the sign and read it words.

“To advance to the next room give to the hearth your protection of warmth, and bring heat to this frozen state.” Tommy read out loud the sign words, which were written in a language he could read. “Hearth I think it refers to this fireplace give it my protection of warmth, hmm, I wonder if it means my clothes.” Tommy looked at himself and frown. “If I remove my clothes I be risking my own health but I really don’t have much of now do I.” Tommy pulled off his hat and grab his white shirt with the green edges and pulled it over his head revealing the orange-color undershirt and toss his shirt to the fireplace. “WHOA!!!” Tommy said falling backward and landing hard on his ass as the fireplace roar to life the minute the shirt landed in it, catching Tommy off guard as he prepared to go pull off his undershirt. “I guess that all I needed to do huh.”

Tommy sat up feeling the warmth of the fire filled the room running his now sore butt, which hurt like hell. Tommy waited for about five minutes when he heard the grinding sound of a wall going along another wall and he turn around and seen the doorway with stairs leading upstairs. Tommy winced as he made his way upstairs and enter the next room. Tommy groan when he saw the room it was the same as the one he was just in except there was two fireplaces, which sat across from each others, and a sign in the middle of the room. Walking up to the sign he once again read the sign.

“Oh seeker of power to quell the icy hearts of the spirits offer to the hearth a pair of protection of warmth at the same time.” The sign read which left Tommy a little confused until he took of his white and green shoes and standing in front of the signs he threw his shoes towards the fireplaces, one to his left the other to his right. Both shoes landed in the fireplaces, almost dead center and bracing himself on the sign the hearths burst into flames like before. Tommy smiled as he hopped around a bit to get his feet warm up as he waited for the new doorway to come forth. Once it was available Tommy made his way upstairs. In the new room he was once again faced with the fireplaces except their was now four of them, two stood on the back wall where he enter from and the other two where on the walls to his left and right. Like the last room the sign stood in the middle of the room centered between the fireplaces.

“Bring the might of the earth’s flames by offering your protection of warmth to the hearths, only then will the disciple of everlasting ice will open the door. Beware the hearths that rest in the sun’s path for they will only except that which works in pairs.” The new sign read and Tommy’s face paled. “Going by what this sign says, I will be nude and totally exposed to the elements not to mention the cold. Also the sign said work in pairs and the only thing I got left that work in pairs are my socks since I already burned my shoes.” Tommy looked at what he had left and remember that he was still wearing his shorts and underwear. “Well these usually work in pairs, wonder if they will work.” taking his chances Tommy pulled his undershirt off then his pants and green boxer briefs followed by his orange socks and last, but really was done first, his hat which was his last protection against the cold. Tommy shivered as walked over to the two fireplaces on the back wall. He tossed his hat into one and shirt into the other one and as he left the two burst into flames warming the room up a bit. Going to the fireplace on the right wall Tommy toss his pant and boxer briefs into the fireplace then he headed to the one that was directly across from it. About halfway there Tommy smiled as he heard the burst of the clothing catching on fire and he toss his socks into the last fireplaces.

When Tommy return to the sign the last fire started and he waited for the room to warm up. Standing there not trying to cover himself up, considering that it was just him, he watch the two fireplaces on the back wall slide apart going away from each other and revealing the hidden doorway. Tommy sighed hating the fact he had to do the remaining part of the trail naked. He made his way to the next room where he was greeted by a room that had multiple rivers going through it, although after closer inspection Tommy notice that the rivers were glowing red or blue.

“You defies the disciple of everlasting ice prove to it that your heart can withstand the might of fire and ice,” Tommy read the sign that he found near a glowing blue river. “The servants of the maiden of the mists shall either burn of freeze you. But the rivers don’t only tell what they show.”

Tommy looked at the room and seen that there were ten rivers, a total of five glowing red and five glowing blue. Tommy that each river was roughly about two feet wide and not very deep. Deciding that going forward was the only option he had left. He dropped down into the first glowing river which was freezing cold, almost making Tommy leap to the other side, but thought that would be cheating, he carefully made his way across the river. He climbed over the guide wall that separated the rivers and he dropped himself into the first glowing red river which was burning hot, but not enough to do permanent damage. He made his way across the rivers and he slowly made his way to the other side of the room. The next two rivers were glowing blue, one which was right after the red one, was cold but the second one was burning hot. Tommy then faced three glowing red ones, the first two were hot but the last one was cold. The last three rivers were a burning blue, a burning red, and then a freezing cold blue one. Finally Tommy climbed out on the other side of the room tired, the heat and cold took it out of him. Tommy sat one the ground to catch his breath and then made his way upstairs to the last room.

When Tommy enter the last room he leap for joy as he saw what he could only guess was a exact copy of his bed. He ran to it and leap into it and fell asleep, ignoring the sign that was waiting for him. Had he read it the sign he would have known what was about to happen for it words said: “At last the power you seek shall be yours but before that but before that you must endure the night as the spirits explore your body in the forms of those that you trust the most.”

Sometime in the night Tommy heard some noises that sounded familiar. He open his eyes to see the very recognizable yellow shirt and red jacket of Takuya. His eyes fully open up and he could also see Koji and Koichi were here. He thought that his friends were here and that means their trails were over. He sat up to greet them only to let out a loud gasp as he realize that what he was staring at was only their clothes which were able to take some kind of solid form, as if someone was wearing them but were see-through. Tommy freaked out and moved to get away from them but was grabbed by Koji’s and Koichi’s clothes, they held him down on his stomach, his ass pointing up. Tommy kicked his legs at Takuya’s clothes aiming for his arms as one of the gloved hands came down to rub his ass. Tommy turn his head and he could see Takuya and Koji outside watching something going on and he could see Koichi still sleeping on a different bed. Tommy tried to sat up thinking that everything that happen was just a dream but the sudden pain in his ass told him otherwise. Deciding that sleep was much better then talking to his friends Tommy closed his eyes and fell back to sleep not aware that tears were creeping out of his eyes, most likely because he was now wondering if the phantoms that raped him were really his friends’ spirits.
