“Hey Yuusuke, are you going to the opening ceremony for the first years?” Kaoru was lying on the bed and looking at the older boy changing.

“Yeah I have to. I’m the Student Council president, remember?” explained the blonde as he continued putting on his school uniform. It was a black military style uniform with thin white stripes bordering the outline of the blazer and a dark navy shirt with a white tie.

Kaoru frowned. The older boy was always busy with the Student Council; it was taking up more of their time nowadays since they were both seniors in the school. Their relationship was developing but it was slow. The only thing they did was having sex in the last few days of summer, they didn’t go out or anything as the relationship between the two had to be kept a secret. “I’ll see you in school then, ok?” Yuusuke walked over to the boy’s bed and leaned in for a gentle kiss on the lips before leaving the room and closing the door.

As soon as the blonde left, Kaoru got himself dressed and left for the canteen. He ordered an English breakfast and then headed straight for school.

Walking to school was long since the school buildings and the dormitories were separate but Kaoru practically strolled to school since he had plenty of time left. The school was made up of three buildings, the first one was for the boys, the third for the girls and the second building was for the practical work like sports and other activities that can’t be done in a normal classroom. Although the school is mixed, the lessons are always separate so the only time you can socialise with the opposite sex was through extra-curricular and outside school.

Kaoru entered the first building and walked though corridors and stairs to his classroom, the building was pretty empty since it was still early. Just as he was about to enter, the wooden door suddenly slid open and before he knew it, Kaoru was already on the hard floor and was seeing stars.

“Yeh, I’m an exchange student from France. Just call Kai.” Even the voice was similar to Yuusuke’s; Kaoru took a mental note of that.

Kaoru blinked at the response, the blonde’s English was perfect despite him being an exchange from France. “My name is Kaoru Tadashi. Umm…do you-”

The boy didn’t manage to finish his sentence because a hand suddenly grabbed his arm firmly and pulled him away from the other boy. The other boy simply smirked at his look-alike while leaning against the door with his hands in his trouser pockets, “Why are you being so cold for? You should be happy; we haven’t seen each other for years and we are, after all…brothers.” He particularly emphasized his tone on the last word.

Upon hearing the words, Yuusuke flinched slightly and tightened his grip on Kaoru. Kaoru just stared at the other blonde in wonder. He suspected that there was a connection in between the two boys; they were similar in both looks and voice, even their auras matched. It wasn’t surprising that they were actually brothers.

“Or…to be more specific,” continued the brother, “…twins.” Once again emphasizing on the last words. “And since we’re twins, we share the same mind, like the same things, want the same people and that, of course, includes him.” The twin was eyeing the brunette in front of him playfully as he ended the sentence. He already guessed that the two were lovers by now, judging from the way Yuusuke was holding the brunette. Kaoru noticed the attention he’d been receiving and blushed softly but also thinking, he can’t possibly be gay as well, can he?

Yuusuke noticed the eyeing and snarled at Kai, “Don’t think that just because you are older than me it means that you can take everything from me. You can’t.”

Kai smirked again, obviously unaffected by Yuusuke’s words. “Well, that’s it. See you then.” He lifted himself off the doorframe and walked down the deserted corridor, probably heading to the staff room.

As soon as Kai disappeared, Yuusuke loosened his hold around the slender and frail body and walked into the empty classroom with Kaoru behind him.

The two boys sat at the far end of the classroom together where the windows were.

He turned to face Kaoru and gently put his hands on his shoulders. “Look, Kaoru. If you ever see Kai again, don’t talk to him, don’t even look at him, just ignore him. Okay?” Yuusuke was looking at Kaoru eye to eye; they were fixed on his own eyes, serious yet with a hint of worry.

The rest of the day went by quickly, Kaoru and Yuusuke didn’t see Kai after the incident in the morning, and he wasn’t in their class, which the two were glad about. The blonde insisted on being by Kaoru’s side all the time, Kaoru thought that maybe something was happening but he soon dismissed the thought and replaced it with Yuusuke being too overprotective of him.
