Chapter 04

Eclipse opened his eyes at the warmth of the sun grazed his back. He lay on his bed his back facing the window; he had managed to undress for bed but had been too tired to bother changing into a nightshirt.
He had been dreaming. It had been so long since he had last dreamed.

His cheeks reddened slightly upon remembering it. It had been so strange and new to him before. The unexplained warmth and wanting to be closer to him. The enjoyment he had just by being near the younger boy. By now, it was undeniable as anything else but what it inevitably was.

At the very least he had a very large crush on Raenef. At the very most, which was considerably more likely given the ‘symptoms’ it wasn’t so simple as a crush…

He frowned slightly in thought as he sat up and brushed his long hair from his face. He still had so many things he needed to do. First off he had to try and still make up his rudeness to Krayon, is best friend, and then… he could continue tutoring Raenef, that’d give him an excuse to see him in any case.

Eclipse sighed, he felt so drained for the moment, but all he had to do was think about him again and nothing else seemed to matter.

`

Nothing else mattered right now.

He was holding Raenef’s hand. Chris tried very hard to keep from letting bright redness sneak up onto his cheeks. Glancing over at the blonde Raenef had a slight pink to his cheeks too, but he was doing a better job of keeping the blushing to a minimum, unlike his friend.

“Hey!”

Chris leaped back, his hand and Ranef’s leaving each other, in case spotted. “Leeche!” Chris growled angrily, blushing freely now, since anyone would think it was anger rather than embarrassment. “Don’t do that! You trying to kill me!”

“I didn’t do, anything, what’s your deal?” Leeche asked somewhat irritated with Chris’ blowing the circumstance out of proportion.

“Good morning Leeche,” Raenef greeted with a smile, the girl returning the smile. Chris sulked slightly before stepping between the two’s eye contact.

“Yeah, well we have to get to class,” Chris said looking over at Leeche somewhat angrily. He had been holding Raenef’s hand for crying out loud! Only for a little while, but it was so cool. Why did she have to interrupt that?

Chris and Raenef so far had managed to semi-started relationship, though so far it was only sort of. Raenef’s friend Eclipse had disappeared from the mall; he had probably got tired of waiting around. Chris was sorry and Raenef forgave him. He didn’t think there was anything the boy couldn’t forgive. Even Leeche for interrupting them it seemed. It was really just holding hands, but still.

Leeche was the one to walk to class talking to Raenef. It wasn’t so out of the ordinary with their daily routine but still.

In most classes they had together they had separate desks, except for science where under the desk they could hold hands without being seen. Raenef’s sweet smiles made Chris blush more than normal and between classes, whenever no one was looking Chris was able to steal quick kisses.

Afterwards he’d usually be blushing more, but that was a petty price for the taste of Raenef. They were also going out together after school, which would give more time for that.

“You’re pretty obvious you know.”

Chris nearly jumped three feet in the air when the person spoke to him. Whirling around he frowned at Leeche. “Yeah right. What’s obvious?”

“You and Raenef,” Leeche said walking past him to her seat. Chris’s frown deepened, silly, she didn’t know anything.

Leeche had to admit, to herself at least, that she was somewhat enjoying this whole, Chris and Raenef deal, one it was making Chris blush way more than usual, which was always cute. That and though she had yet to try this wonderful new technique, she was sure it would be fun.

She got her chance at their next class.

“Hey, Raenef!” Leeche said running over to him, Chris not far behind her. “Hey, Chris?”

The dark-haired boy ignored her as he took his seat and glared straight ahead. Yes, because of her he ahd missed Raenef in the halls and would have to wait till next five minute break between classes before he got to attempt to kiss Raenef again.

Leeche smirked slightly. “Chris, look.” She said as she put her arms around Raenef’s neck and kissed his cheek, somewhat intimately, considering their position.

Chris looked up, blushing both somewhat angry as well as embarrassed and shocked. “Hey! What are you doing!” he cried incredulously at her.

Leeche smiled, her plan had worked. She had to try this more often. “I just wanted to ask you if you two were doing anything this afternoon.”

“Yes we are,” Said Chris getting up and going over to unlatch the girl from Raenef, “Now, if you know about me and Raenef, kindly keep your paws off him.”

“Why? It’s the only way to get your attention now it seems,” Leeche said with a frown and she brushed some of her hair back over her shoulder.

“Whatever, but we do have plans, so whatever,” Chris said somewhat hotly as he took his seat again, somewhat sulking.

“You shouldn’t tease him like that,” Raenef softly chided her. Leeche shrugged and took her seat as the rets of the students filed into class and the teacher appeared to start the lesson.

`

“So, what made you change your mind?”

Krayon looked over the table at Eclipse, enjoying his strawberry dakiri very much, Eclipse had ordered an ice tea but he hadn’t touched it yet.

“I haven’t changed my mind,” Eclipse maintained. “But I can’t help feeling bad about what happened so I’m trying to make it up to you.”

“So I’m a gauge for your guilty conscience,” Krayon asked with a small chuckle. “Come on, you only
yelled at me, and it’s not like I haven’t forgiven you.”

Eclipse only nodded. “Or maybe it’s because you haven’t forgiven yourself,” Krayon mused quietly, “You need to lighten up some. I’ll never understand that whole deal of holding grudges only against yourself, pretty weird.”

“Sorry about that,” Eclipse said, trying to smile somewhat as he looked up at him friend, but somehow his eyes trailed off outside after a certain two people.

“Walk with me,” Eclipse said putting down the money to cover their drinks as he got up and started to head outside.

Krayon was surprised to say the least, he hurried to the counter to ask for his dakiri to be put in a to go cup, and hurried after his friend once it was returned.

“What’s up?” Krayon asked after he caught up with his friend and looked over at the two people he was watching. They were two male high school students, it wasn’t exactly obvious if they were a couple but one of them was blushing so badly it was obvious he liked the other boy.

“The blonde’s hot,” Krayon noted aloud receiving a solid glare from Eclipse. “Sorry, that your boy? My bad.” He recovered in apology.

Eclipse turned back to watching the two, at the moment the spot they’d chosen was pretty much vacant, so… he obviously felt the need to somewhat chaperone the two. That’s right, ‘chaperone’ yeah, that’s the ticket.

Chris was blushing like mad, though Raenef seemed less perturbed by the whole situation, which was obviously a relationship! Eclipse thought somewhat angrily as a vein in his head throbbed as Chris leaned in and lightly pressed his lips to Raenef’s. Like before only more sweet and loving that demanding and possessive. Gods, did he really just think that?

“Sweet…” Krayon whispered watching the two with a slight flush. “Think they’ll do it?”

Eclipse turned his head very slowly to look at his friend with a very fiery glare, as compared to his more icy looks. Krayon however it seemed was ignoring him for the moment. “Ooh… blondie with free porn.”
Eclipse looked back quickly at the couple with wide eyes. Surely they wouldn’t do something so obscene… at their age! And in a public place!

“Got ya,” Krayon grinned. “You have a crush on a high school boy. Naughty, naughty. Kinky. But naughty.”

“You’re one to talk,” Eclipse said frowning. His friend had tricked him, they were still just kissing, and breaking and kissing again… and oh gods he wished it was him over there. With no one watching though of course.

“Well, just so you know,” Krayon said putting a hand on his shoulder, “I fully support you in pursuing said hottie.”

“Excuse me?” Eclipse asked looked back at Krayon. No one was allowed to call Raenef a hottie! Except himself of course.

“I’m a good friend,” Krayon told him with a smile. “Gotta go now though. Have fun spying.”

Eclipse watched after Krayon as he disappeared into the crowds on the street just a ways away from where they had been hiding.

He had had every intention of being with Krayon the entire day and making up for his rudeness to him, but it had somehow turned into a spying gig. Eclipse smiled after him before turning back to watching where the two boys were now whispering to each other, Chris still blushing. “You really are a good friend, Krayon.”

`

“Hey Erutis! Waiting long?”

The redhead looked up at him and grinned shaking her head. “Not really, just got here a second ago,” she said tossing the paper she had been looking over at him. “There’s a few good ones in there, I was thinking either the Kung Fu one or else maybe the Samurai one. I didn’t think you’d like a chick flick.”

“How considerate of you,” Krayon wondered as he looked down at the movie ads. “What about this one? It’s supposed to be a comedy.”

“Only if you want to,” she shrugged looking at the ad.

“Why not? We saw a fighting one last time anyway,” Krayon shrugged. Erutis grinned and they headed over to the ticket booth.

Krayon hadn’t mentioned Erutis to anyone, and he didn’t know if Erutis had mentioned him to anyone, but they had made several agreements to meet. Mostly when they got together they just went out and saw a movie, sometimes went to a dinner or a park to see a new theme or ride on a few occasions.

They were friends so far as anything had gone so far. But in the vibrant young woman Krayon was starting to find his old infatuations dying in her wake as nothing but her took their place.

After the movie they went out to a hibachi place for dinner after wandering around down the streets mostly talking about the movie and other miscellaneous thoughts and topics that came and went.

But at this point he had to do something. He had to decide what he was going to do, making up his mind between his best friend and the redhead.

Eclipse has a crush on another person. But that person is taken at the moment. Eclipse has also shown no interest in him though.

Erutis seems to have some interest in him, if not a whole ton. She’s also a girl, and single. She didn’t have much of a figure but he always enjoyed himself when he was with her, even if they never actually went to a movie or dinner.

Erutis, a person who understood him, and he could have fun with her even when things seem both bad and good. She’s strong and not some sort of emotionally deranged woman who is seeking anyone to fill the place of her vacant boyfriend.

“You gonna answer anytime in the next few millennia?”

“Yes, sorry, just thinking,” Krayon said looking back at her. “What was the question.”

“If you were the ‘girl’ what would you have done differently, if anything at all?” Erutis repeated the question.

“Easy. She was an idiot. I’d either try and salvage whatever she had left of herself or else jump off a cliff,” Krayon answered, “No wait, never kiss the guy and in that one part where he asks her to marry him, these would be my conditions, ‘okay but we never kiss-because you’re ugly. We’re not having kids because my stomach will bloat-and because you’re ugly, and we get separate rooms-because you’re ugly.’.”

“Everyone would think you’re a freak,” Erutis chuckled.

“That, is the point,” Krayon noted to her. “What about you?”

He decided in less than a minute.

Erutis.

`

Chris and Raenef both sat on the couch at the dark-haired boy’s house. The TV featured a very old horror film, no ulterior motive to picking a horror film though, none whatsoever.

The problem was the film wasn’t so much scary as really boring. The perks were there though, after all cuddling on the couch was fine, Chris got to hold the blonde in his arms and stuff anyway. But the movie was boring and even just cuddling was a little too small an activity to keep from falling asleep from the film. Raenef didn’t seem to be bored though, or maybe he was just masking it really well.

Chris shifted slightly so he could better lean into Raenef’s neck where he nuzzled. Raenef chuckled and turned to look at him, Chris looked up at him again and kissed him again, on the lips.

“Chris,” Raenef pushed him off a bit, chuckling slightly at Chris’ actions.

“I’m bored with the movie,” he explained as he leaned into Raenef’s neck again and licked the pale skin there. Raenef shivered lightly under him. “So?”

“Nothing,” Raenef answered as one of his hands came up to tangle in Chris’ hair the other moving to the front of Chris, between the two of them where he stroked his chest lightly. “Nothing at all.”

`

“Raenef?” Erutis called as she heard the door open.

“Yes?” he asked coming into the kitchen where Erutis currently was attempting to cook.

“Nothing, just that dinner is um…” she looked down at the mac and cheese, which she miraculously had managed to both burn and completely make a mess of in the sink.

“That’s okay,” He smiled, “I’m not really hungry right now though, just tired.”

“Okay, then you can go ahead and go to sleep. You got all your homework done?” she asked after him as he started back to his room.

“Yes.” He called back.

“Okay,” she replied as she dumped the ruined meal down the disposal. Oh well she’d have to try cooking another time, maybe get one of her friends to show her how to do it without burning or otherwise ruining anything.

She was about to start off to her room to sleep too when the phone rang. “Hello? Erutis speaking,” she said as she picked up. “Oh! Hi Eclipse, didn’t think we’d be hearing from you again.”

Erutis paused to listen to him, “You’re going to continue tutoring Raenef? Thanks! That means so much to me!”

“Uh-huh,” she said to something else he’d said. “Uh-huh.”

“Okay, see you then,” she smiled, “Bye.”

The phone hung up on both ends and Eclipse wondered if this was truly the best way to go about things after all.
