Author's prefiction ramblings

Before I begin, the first task that Lee had to do back in chapter 37 is based on the mini-boss fight at the end of Sandapopolis in Sonic & Knuckles. Although, I modified it...,instead of a pit of quick sand, the golem falls off a cliff after jumping down into it. Also, be warned that I'm using a slightly AU version of Chrono Crusade plus I'm crossing a third Anime into this part. You'll see what I mean. Plus, this will be the last chapter I write for a week. Thanksgiving is coming up and I'm going to take the week off from writing.

Youkai Circle...,Hell...,

"Duffau, why is your stench invading this Sesshomaru's nose?"
"First, Pandaemonium herself wanted me to send her congratulations on you re-taking your father's position as head of the youkai demons."
"This Sesshomaru doesn't care what that head, nor Satan himself has to say. Now, why are you here?"
"It's known widely that you and your brother are the only two demons on Earth or hell that both the sinners Aion and Chrno fear."
"I can see where this is going. Pandaemonium wishes those two brought to her dead. Aion I too wish dead, but his brother is no longer any concern of mine or my brother's."
"What?"
"Tell both Pandaemonium and Satan, if you can get an audience with him, that the 'hornless ones' will no longer be treated as third rate demons. Unlike Naraku, who wished to keep the status quo, this Sesshomaru is ready to move against Pandaemonium and Satan. You horned demons who need astral to survive best get out of the way."
"You may be powerful, but if I remember correctly, it took you and your brother to kill your former leader. You can't make a strike on your own. You've always have to have your younger brother with you. The only time I've ever seen you fight alone is when you know you have absolute victory."
"If you don't have anything important to say, Duffau, then quit wasting this Sesshomaru's time."
"The only reason you wish to rule in hell is to protect your human mate and all of the other humans who are down here because they loved the damned."
"My mate has nothing to do with this. And if you speak of her again then you will feel my Bakusaiga's wrath."
"Then you won't...,"
"This Sesshomaru will take care of Aion on his own terms, not Pandaemonium's or Satan's, or even yours." Duffau quickly leaves Sesshomaru's presents before the youkai lord would have killed him.
"You should've gutted him."
"Violence all the time doesn't solve everything, Inuyasha. Now, I'm going to pay Aion a visit. He needs to know that I haven't forgotten about him."
"Want me to...,"
"no need. I'm not going to fight unless he starts one." Sesshomaru states and vanishes in a ball of white light.

New York...,

A blue light flashes revealing eight people. A car swerves on the nearby road almost running off of it.
"Well?" Meilin asks.
"Apparently, I can't get an exact fix on Sian's signal when we're crossing dimensions. Plus, I'm picking up some sort of unknown interference."
"Can we make an intredimensional jump then?" Sakura asks.
"With all of this interference we wouldn't make it in one jump." Josh explains.
"So, what's interfering then?" Meilin asks.
"I'm not sure at the moment." Josh replies sheepishly.
"There's some sort...,of energy. I don't know what it is, but I can feel it." Icious comments.
"Is it demonic?" Wulf asks.
"Yes, and no. It's feeding demonic spirits, but it's not demonic in nature." Icious explains.
"This dimension's rules must be different from the one we left and the one we come from." Josh adds.
"Uh oh, heads up guys, I'm sensing Sian's dark lover's card." Sakura states.
"And just how do we get to it?" Meilin asks.
"We'll just have to make a jump and hope we go in the right direction." Sakura says and the group vanishes.

Manhattan...,

"Woe, New York City, at least we're on an Earth." Tao states.
"Just how did you come up with that answer anyway? This could be any alley, in any city, in any world!" Meilin shouts.
"This." Tao says picking up a discarded New York Times. Meilin blushes in embarrassment. "1924?
Great, not only do we have to deal with Sian, but we might run into a number of organized crime rings along the way."
"Just how do you know all this?" Lee asks.
"I love history." Tao replies.
"This way. The impression is getting stronger." Sakura states.

He had dealt with monsters and demons, but nothing like this. Thing looked to be nothing but tentacles. As usual, his contractor had tried shooting the thing, but it only made the monster mad. This wasn't a demon, at least not one he'd ever heard of. Now, however, Chrno was trying to calm his rage. Transforming would do him no good. Even if the thing had Rosette rapped up in several of its tentacles, he couldn't get near the thing without having the unquenchable desire to go and fuck something.
"Amazing thing, isn't it?" a figure in a red cloak with a blood red moon eclipsing a sun states. "Your demon nature is detrimental to you in this situation."
"Who are you?" Chrno demands.
"Hmmm, your brother believed that a mere human with lowly magical powers and a card couldn't deal with you."
"Aion sent you?"
"Actually I've partnered myself with him. You see, I'm a stranger to this dimension. So, I needed to find someone who could help. In return for me helping him make a new world for demons, he'll help me destroy those foolish heroes from my dimension. Hmmm, she must be having such a vivid hallucination at the moment." Sian states smirking at Chrno.
"Element...,lightning!"
"Thunder card!"
"Shit!" Sian swears and puts up a barrier to protect himself. Then, sutras and mini-missiles hit the back of the tentacle monster that had been created by the dark lover's card. The damage was significant enough to force the creature back into the card. Chrno quickly gets to Rosette while the others circle Sian.
"Hey flame head, gonna stick around so we can kick your tail in?" Meilin taunts.
"Not tonight!" and Sian disappears in a flash of flames.
"That guy would give Houdini a run for his money." Wulf comments.
"Hey c'mon, snap out of it!" Chrno shouts shaking the still dazed Rosette.
"Her mind is trying to recover from being so over sexed from Sian's card. I still would like to know how he created the thing in the first place." Kero says.
"Will she be ok?" Chrno asks.
"Don't know. She's only the second person that's been attacked by that card." Kero responds.
"Who was that guy?" Chrno asks.
"I doubt we ought to trade stories out here." Lee states.
"Uh, can any of you drive? I need to get her back to the Order." Chrno asks. They all look at each other.
"My father taught me." Josh answers putting away his headband and goggles and putting his normal glasses on.
"You know how to drive?" Madison asks as the group makes their way to the car.
"Yeah. I don't know why he needed to teach me though." Josh replies.
"Uh, she's a nun?" Sakura asks.
"No, not a full one." Chrno replies as he and Meilin carry Rosette.
"Why would a demon be working with a nun?" Icious asks. "We don't work with those of heaven."
"You're a demon too?" Chrno asks.
"Half. You must rely on that strange energy I've been sensing ever since we got here." Icious answers.
"Yes. That would be the Astral line you're sensing." Chrno responds.
"How the hell are all of us going to fit in this car?" Meilin asks.

On the road to the Magdalene Order...,

"Sardines are more comfortable in their can than I am in this car." Meilin complains. She was sitting in the front right up against the passenger door with Icious, Sakura, Madison, and Josh at the wheel.
"I'm not bothered." Madison answers smiling.
"You think you're uncomfortable?" Chrno asks. "Try being in my position!" He was pressed up against the driver's side back door of the car with Rosette half leaning and half sitting on him.
"Why's there all these people in the car?" Rosette asks still somewhat out of it, but she was coming back around.
"They helped in getting rid of that tentacle thing you tried shooting." Chrno responds.
"Did Sister Kate send them?"
"Nope. They...,it's complicated."
"Hope they don't wreck the car...,I'll be scrubbing toilets for the rest of the year." Rosette responds and falls into unconsciousness.
"Her mind is still trying to recover from whatever the card did to her. I'm surprised she knows what's going on around her." Kero states from Sakura's lap.
"She's stubborn." Chrno pipes in.
"Mmmm, sounds familiar, doesn't it?" Sakura says and most turn to look at Meilin.
"What!?" she shouts and everyone starts chuckling except for Chrno who was trying to keep his contractor from crushing him.
"Why are you so heavy?" Chrno whines and Rosette gives him a whap to the back of his head. "And how can you hear me in your sleep!?"

Outside of Aion's hideout...,San Francisco...,

The newly crowned lord of the Youkai Circle of Hell appears just outside of Aion's stronghold. His eyes glow red as he lets his aura completely out. This would temporarily cut off their feed to the astral line. This was the quickest way of getting the demon's attention. All of the sinners come out to see what was going on. Genai and Rizel were half charging until they saw the silver haired demon.
"Sesshomaru, what an...,unexpected visit." Aion states as he steps forward and the rest of the sinners fall back.
"I warn you now, your plan is unacceptable to us youkai. Satan may not do anything do to the fact that your plan defies heaven, but he's not the only ruler in hell now."
"Sesshomaru, you finally knocked Naraku off of his throne." Aion says genuinely interested in his old rival's new found power.
"Duffau paid this Sesshomaru a visit earlier."
"I doubt he'd be foolish enough to ask you for help in finding me and my brother, would he?"
"Yes, he was, but I don't do Pandemonium's bidding. However, I still wish to see your head liberated from your body, and Pandemonium's head completely destroyed. You horned demons will no longer shun us youkai."
"I notice you took my brother's name off that list of people you wish to kill. What's with the change of heart?"
"Your brother is no longer a concern of mine." He says and with a quick movement that was too fast for anyone to see, the youkai lord draws his sword and seemingly attacks Shader. When the light of the attack dissipates, Shader stands there unharmed. The others look on in confusion, but Aion had noticed that Sesshomaru didn't draw Bakusaiga, but Tenseiga.
"No, you didn't." Aion whispers in astonishment.
"I did. She's free from your influence forever. This Sesshomaru would kill you, but your brother has more of a claim to your hide." Sesshomaru states putting away his other sword.
"What...,what did he do?" Rizel asks.
"That sword...," Aion states glaring at the youkai, "has the ability to break bonds of submission that strong demons have over weaker demons. That's how his father almost overthrew Hell." Aion explains.
"I'm free? I'm free!" Shaders shrieks running around.
Why?" Aion asks.
"To tip the balance back in your brother's favor. And don't think of killing her, I'm taking her to your brother myself."
"You'll pay for this." Aion states.
"Payment is usually expensive." Sesshomaru retorts. Aion glares as the two vanish in a flash of light.
"You know she probably took all of her data with her don't you?" Rizel asks.
"Shall I go hunt her down?" Genai eagerly asks.
"No, I'll ask our new ally to help us. He might have a way to bring Shader back under my control. Go check up on Joshua." Aion states and the Sinners leave. 'Chrno in front of me, Sesshomaru behind me, why didn't Pandemonium or Satan eliminate those youkai? I guess it's up to me to rid Hell of youkai as well.'
