Dueling Fleets

Dueling Fleets

by SSJ04 Mewtwo

888

The Ishkur class ship hid from the sensors of the fleet that was currently stationed at Blue Heaven. The tactical computer was constantly transmitting data to the ship's mother ship. The captain nervously paced the bridge, not like this assignment he had pressed to do.

"Time?" the human captain asked.

"About another fifteen minutes," the tactical officer reported.

"If we are caught before the fleet gets here then we're screwed," the captain said. He sat back in the command chair, trying to get comfortable, but his nervousness wasn't allowing him such a luxury.

888

"Five minutes until we'll jump back into normal space," Melfina reported.

"Our advance scout is still sending data," Jim reported.

"What do you make of it?" Gene asked.

"Normal battle cruisers, but the computer is picking up a bunch of tiny ships buzzing around their fleet. We'll have to get into combat to see what those ships actually are," Jim reported.

"Great," Gene said sarcastically.

888

"What are those things?" the captain asked.

"They seem to be one man craft. If our sensors are working properly, I'd say that they are mobile units," the tactical officer said.

"So, the Corbonites perfected those things. Inform the fleet that they'll have to deal with a bunch of gnats when they get here," the captain ordered.

888

The Nayan commander sat back in his command chair. The Corbonite Mobile suit fleet, along with their impressive number of ships, would force the alliance fleet to go back to Heifong and stay there.

"Sir, trans-ether signal approaching!" the tactical officer shouted. The view screen lit up with the sight of hundreds of ships"

"Impressive. All ships, engage the alliance ships," the Nayan commander ordered.

888

"Damn, those are mobile suits," Jim reported. "They'll be the hardest to take out due to their fire power and size."

"You two ready?" Gene asked.

"Weapons ready," Susuka relayed.

"Let's scrap them," Aisha said with a grin.

"All ships, open fire," the Ctarl general ordered over the com-channel.

"Going to grappler combat mood," Melfina declared.

888

The /Drake battle cruisers and the assaults scouts fired first, ripping apart the ships that were unfortunate not to be able to shield themselves adequately. Then, the mobile suits attacked, their energy canons rocking the alliance ships.

Having seen this, the Ctarl battle cruisers, having had enough of the humans having the fun, fired, destroying the Silgrians ships first.

888

"Four mobile suits approaching," Melfina warned.

"Damn," Gene grunted as the ship was rocked by weapons fire.

"They've got radar scramblers on those units...use manual targeting to hit them," Jim informed. Aisha became more ferrule at that. She preferred to manually target her enemy than to let the computer lock on for her.

888

"The flag ship is engaging us," the tactical officer reported. The Nayan commander, an old war horse, grinned.

"As it should be. Let's just see who is the best at this dance of death," the commander said.

888

"Damn! That was our last missile!" Aisha roared in frustration.

""Alright you two, I'm transferring grappler arm control to you," Gene relayed and Susuka and Aisha took control of the arms.

888

"The Silgrians are completely destroyed, but the Nayan and Corbonite factions of the fleet are still putting up a fight," Valeria reported.

"Yeah, and it looks like the general wanted a piece of their flag ship...keep firing!" the blond shouted.

888

The Drake and assault scouts had the least amount of trouble. None of the mobile suits wanted to get near for fear of being blown to bits. Eventually, the line that was being held by the Corbonites and Nayans started collapsing in on itself.

"Open a channel...I don't want them all dead," the Ctarl general said.

"Sir, trans-ether signature detected on the far side of Blue Heaven!" the tactical officer shouted.

"What now?" the general growled. Then, the tactical display lit up with the tactical view of the Sith and Rorgan fleet.

The new fleet broke into two parts. One attacked the weakened fleet of the Nayans and Corbonites, and the other part...

"Sir! They are attacking the station itself!" the tactical officer shouted.

"Fucking hell!"

888

In a spectacular explosion of fire, the station once known as Blue Heaven was destroyed. The Nayan commander only hesitated for a moment until he made a decision that would forever make the Nayans and Corbonites cowards in the eyes of the Ctarl-Ctarl.

"Tell all ships to jump to sub-ether. We don't need to be destroyed ourselves," he said and as one, what was left of the Nayan and Corbonite fleet jumped into sub-ether.

888

"Cowards!" the Ctarl general roared, slamming his fist into the control arm of his chair.

"The Sith and Rorgan's are retreating back to trans-ether," the tactical officer coldly reported.

"Cowards...destroy the station and leave...tell the fleet to head back for Heifong."

888

The president of the federation sighed to himself. The loss of Blue Heaven was a striking blow. The destruction of 80% of the Nayan and Corbonite military would leave them a non-factor in the war.

"Mr. President..." the general said.

"Get back to your post of commanding the fleet. I don't want something like that happening again."

"Sir, the Ctarl general cannot be blamed for this."

"No, but your experience is needed out on the front line, not here on Earth. I want the fleet to concentrate on finding a better base of operations than Heifong. Heifong is a Commercial planetary system. I'd like that to continue to be so."

"Understood," the human general said and took his leave to rejoin the fleet.

888

Aisha's father growled. He wanted to challenge the Emperor for his throne, but after the destruction of Blue Heaven, he had decided that taking the command from the younger brother would force the Emperor to listen to him. His female would probably go see their outcast daughter, something he didn't like but wouldn't stop so peace could be maintain between the two.

'Kitten, you ain't worthy to command a fleet in such a battle,' the old Ctarl thought. 'I'll command the fleet to victory and then take the throne for myself and then...break this foolish alliance with the humans,'
