Chapter 47: Cold Winds of Premonition
She could taste it... her blood, a dark and unforgettable taint in her mouth. She was hanging from a ceiling, but it wasn’t her body. She could see Julia, a bandage on her nose as she toyed with various devices of torture. Red hair spilled before her face, and suddenly she knew who she was. She cried out her name, desperately begging her to answer, only to hear her own voice. She could feel a dark, thick wetness slide down her legs, a familiar feeling that she had hoped to never feel again. Suddenly she screamed out something that she remembered, praying to god that Sith could hear.
“Pride!” she screamed as her vision faded, “Pride and vanity!”

Amaya sat up in bed, her throat sore and her body covered in a sheen of sweat. Distantly, she could hear the sounds of the club beneath her apartment. She glanced about the darkened room, noticing her beloved James sound asleep beside her. She snorted. The man could sleep through the end of the world.
Suddenly, her dream flooded back to her, causing tears to burn in her eyes. Without a thought, she grabbed a robe and headed for the vid phone in her office and dialed a number that she knew too well.
A groggy pair of pale blue eyes blinked at her. “Amaya?”
“Is Sith there?” she asked.
Vicious shook his head. “No, why?”
“How long has she been gone?” she asked hurriedly.
“A day… Amaya, I told her about Lucius, I figuree nee needed time to herself.”
Amaya paled. “Oh god no,” she gasped.
Vicious’ face twisted into that of concern. “What? What’s wrong?”
“I… I had a dream. About Sith. Vicious, I think she’s in trouble.”
Vicious nodded. He wasn’t one to doubt Amaya’s instincts; they always had a tendency to be strangely prophetic. “Alright, what do you want me to do?”
“Send out a search team. I’ll be over there soon. If I’m wrong, and, unfortunately, I rarely am, she’ll spot them and head back. If not… we know who’d kidnap her.”
Vicious’ eyes became like ice as they narrowed. “Julia.”

It was noon, the mail had come to Vicious. Amaya heen een right. An envelope containing a blood stained photo had arrived. Vicious had thrown a fit, throwing things and causing general destruction. The children were spending the day with Faye, under heavy guard. Lucius stood with Spike and James, watching as Amaya attempted to stop Vicious’ angered attack on the room.
“Please, Vicious, we’ll get her back,” Amaya pleaded.
“That bitch has my wife! She has her! Why was I so stupid? Why didn’t I stop her from leaving?!” he shouted as he threw a chair against the wall.
Amaya’s good eye darkened, earning a back step from the three spectators. She then leapt forward and pinned the taller man to the ground. He thrashed about, trying to buck the dark haired woman from his frame, only wincing as her well-manicured nails drew blood. She growled low, causing him to freeze and all eyes to witness that her eye was silver instead of grey. They had all nearly forgotten how scary she could be, especially with that black glass orb in place of her missing eye. Ice blue clashed with silver as the pair stared one another down.
“This isn’t about you, Vicious, it’s about Sith and it’s about Julia. Now get over your god damned guilt trip and focus!” she ordered.
He relaxed his body, turning his eyes from her. Amaya stood slowly, pulling him up with her before turning to the other three that watched her in amazement. “Now, Lucius is going to show us the way to Julia and we’re going to rescue Sith before anything worse happens. Is this understood?”
All heads nodded in agreement, no one quite up to the challenge of questioning her authority.
“Good,” she nodded.
James leered at Amaya. “Would it be inappropriate to tell you that I’m very turned on right now?”
Spike’s jaw dropped and Vicious groaned as Amaya giggled and blushed, her eye changed to a softer silver-grey. “Yes, honey, that it would.”

“What do you mean I’m not going?!” Faye shrieked. “That bitch killed my son! I want to rip off her fucking head!”
Spike winced. “You’re also eight months pregnant. You aren’t going.”
“He’s got a point,” Amaya said.
Faye huffed.
Spike groaned. “Faye, I don’t want to have to worry about you. Just, for once, do what I ask you to do?”
Faye pouted and nodded. “Fine, but if she’s not dead by the end of this, I’ll kill you.”
*It’s alright*
Meanwhile, James and Vicious were having a similar argument with Amaya. “You’re kidding me?” Amaya scoffed. “You’re both ganging up on me?”
“We don’ want you hurt, luv,” James placated.
*It’s alright*
“Sith will need me,” Amaya said. “It’s my fault she’s even in this mess! You are not leaving me behind with Faye!”
*It’s alright*
“You’re not as accurate as you used to be,” Vicious stated.
“Compared to you, Spike, Lucius, Sith, and James, I am. But I’m still a helluva lot faster than Julia and her lackey’s.”
“She’s right,” Lucius agreed.
*It’s alright*
Vicious stared at his son incredulously as James stared at him in shock. “What?” Vicious asked.
*It’s alright*
“I was their only defense against you guys. The others are nothing compared to Mom, even if she is fractionally off.”
*It’s alright*
Amaya beamed. “That’s my boy. See? I’m coming, end of story.”
*It’s alright*
Vicious sighed and James threw up his hands in defeat. “Bollocks!”
*It’s alright*
Lucius’ face then went grim, his face a mix between Amaya and Vicious at their most serious. “Alright, now that everything’s settled. Let’s get going.”
*It’s alright*

Levii: Hey ppls! I decided to touch more on Amaya's strange abilities in this chapter, something about her connection to those she loves. I also wanted to show that after Lucius showed up, she's not living with Vicious and Sith anymore and to touch on her relationship with James some more. I love this song, by the way and really wanted to use it. I think it works to show that maybe Amaya isn't as weakened as previously thought and to show Vicious' reaction to Sith's capture. Blood and gore are a-coming ppl and we're going to see James and Lucius in action, seeing as how I haven't really illustrated that. Blood and gore, ppls, Julia's blood and gore. Review!
