Jim sighed as he wiped the sweat from his forehead. He thought that these 20 hour shifts were over, but the generals wanted the flagships of the fleet outfitted with the same torpedo launchers. He knew it would give them a tactical advantage, but he was suffering from sleep exhaustion.

"You ok?"

"Yeah..." Jim sighed out.

"This is the last ship so we'll be able to get some sleep," Zyrashia said.

"Yeah, unless the fleet has to launch off right away."

"They're still battling planning so that might not happen for another three days."

The fleet of Rorgan and Sith ships jumped out of trans-ether, swarmed towards the star and fired several rounds of those red missiles, the warheads stopping the star's ability to convert hydrogen to helium. This cause the star to go nova, destroy the system in question. The enemy fleet had jumped back into trans-ether before the star's explosion

"They are destroying star system after star system!" the Ctarl general ranted.

"Have we projected their course?" the human general asked.

"Yes. If they keep on their current path of destruction, they'll will end up..." Valeria began and everyone froze, seeing the system that was in the path of destruction of the fleet.

"No way..." Gene whispered.

"Earth..." the human general said.

"How long until the flagships are outfitted?" the Ctarl general asked.

"another three hours," Valeria reported.

"Once the weapons are installed, we launch and intercept before they get to Earth," the human general said.

"Done," Jim breathed out.

"Jim Zyrashia, you there?" Gene asked over the com-link.

"Yeah," Jim sighed out.

"Get to the Outlaw Star, the fleet's launching," Gene said.

"What..you've got to be kidding me!" Jim shouted.

"Yeah, well, those bastards are heading straight for Earth," Gene reported.

Jim turned white, "I'm on my way."

"We are secure in trans-ether," Melfina reported.

"Good. Where are we heading?" Gene asked.

"A star system about three days from Earth. It'll take us five hours to get there," Melfina reported.

"Jim, go get some rest, you two Zyrashia," Gene said.

"Yeah..." Jim yawned, "we'll need it."

"they worked him too hard," gene said after the two left the bridge.

"Damn fucking Sith!" Aisha railed.

"What are you going to do? You beat your father and it looks like the Ctarl brass might want you back in the chain of command," Susuka said.

"Forget it. I'm mated with Jim and I'm not going to have him live on a planet that still is somewhat cold towards humans," Aisha growled.

Gene sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. With his relationship with two women, and his partner's mating of two Ctarls, it was going to be hard to stay on Heifong with the upcoming expenses of possible families.

'Plus, can Mel even have a baby?
I know she can have sex...lots of sex, but can she give birth?' Gene thought and shook his head to clear it of those thoughts.

The defensive detection system of the Terran solar system was on yellow alert. The solar defensive system was ready for any attack from the Sith Rorgans, but everyone was hoping that the alliance fleet would stop the Sith and Rorgans.

"They certainly want to get to the star!" gene shouted.

"Glad those torpedo's are working!" Jim shouted.

"Uh..they're jumping," Zyrashia reported.

"Course?" Gene questioned.

"Straight for Earth," Jim said.

"All ships, set for Earth!" the human general ordered.

"Trans-ether jump in 5...4...3...2...1..." Melfina called out and the fleet jumped into trans-ether.

"What's wrong mate?"

"I've received word that the Sith and Rorgans are heading straight for Earth. They don't wish to try and destroy our system first," the Ctarl Emperor said.

"They will end this war."

"Yes, but what happens after the war? Do we go back and start fighting each other or do we stand together as the only two powers left in this galaxy?"

His mate wrapped her arms around him and the Emperor sighed contentedly.

"We can't evacuate over 20 billion people. That just won't be possible," on general said.

"Yes, but if the fleet can't stop them then it's over for us" a second general said.

"Then the final battle will take place here...the fate of our race is in the fleet's hands," the new president of the Earth Federation said.

"Ok Jim, what is it?"

"Look, we both know that this will end the war. We both also know that I'll probably be stationed at the new joint base to supervise the rest of the construction. The two of us have two women and are up to our ears in debt."

"why do you think I haven't spent all of my wages," Gene said.

"Listen, I found that one of those abandoned pirate bases is near an asteroid field. I want to turn that into our new headquarters."

"What?"

"Listen, you and I both know that we can't keep living on Heifong and Sentinel 3 is out of the question if we are going to start families. We fine the hell out of those asteroids, pay off Fred and make our own way."

"The Outlaw Star isn't a mining ship."

"No, but there might just be a few ships that can mine and parts for them at that base. We mine enough to get out of debt, make sure the Outlaw star stays up to specs and make this business a family business."

"You've been thinking about this haven't you?"

"I've got to since Ctarl females are more likely to have multiple births than human women."

"You sure about this? I didn't want to become a minor."

"Neither did I but that will be just until we get out of debt. we'll still solve problems that are beyond the ability of the police or whatever military force will be out here. Plus, we've got the trans-ether drive and radio...we can't take jobs anywhere from Sentinel 3 to Earth."

"You think we can make this a family business?"

"Five years ago I would have said no, but now, I say we've got a good shot at it."

"Alright, sounds good to me," Gene grinned and Jim smirked. Now, they just had to take care of the Sith and Rorgans.
