O_o OH MY GOD!!! AN UPDATE!! I ACTUALLY GOT OFF MY LAZY ASS AND POSTED AN UPDATE!! Wow.... and it\'s longer too...oh my God!
Sadly, between school and the New Year, I\'ve been rather busy...but hey, at least it got done. *cries* I hate seeing my story on the third page instead of the first.
Disclaimer: Sadly, still not mine, but I still have hope! It\'s just a small glimmer, that\'s all.
Warnings: Umm...same as last time, by now you should know the drill.

Chapter 5: Remembering
“AAAAAHHHH!!!”
Turning, I see the ceiling caving in, burying the kid.
“NO!!!” The screams coming from my comrade is almost deafening as I watch in horror as he runs up to the bloody rubble. Running after him, I grab hold of his arm.
“STOP IT!! We have to get out of here or we’ll be buried too!” Wrenching his arm from my grasp he begins tossing wood and plaster everywhere, searching.
“NO! He’s still alive!! He needs us to help him out!” Knowing him, he probably would have kept searching till he either killed himself or the roof caved in on him just so that he wouldn’t have to admit that he was dead. Grabbing him again I start pulling as hard as I can.
“STOP THIS!! THIS IS STUPID!” Clenching my eyes closed against the tears, I say one of the things I dread the most. “He’s…he’s dead…we can’t do anything for him now…we…we have to get out of here…there’s no point in letting his death be in vain…”
“But…” Shaking my head, I stand up, pulling him up with me.
“Come on.” Both of us start running for the door at the end of the hall. Kicking it open, praying to whatever god existed that the fire behind it had left a path for them.
“DAMN!!” So much for that. Frantically I begin looking for some way out, any way when he collapses.
“There’s no point…we have no way out…” turning to him I start screaming.
“How can you say that!? How can you give up!?”
“Unlike me…you have someone who loves you to go home to…I…I’ve lost the only thing I have worth living for…”
“That’s not true!” I begin kicking down doors all along the hall; all he needed was a window.
“It’s no use…just stop…we can go back, die together…” Kicking down the last door, I find only a few flames in the corner and run to the window. Finding it locked, I grab a chair and hurl it through it. Sweeping the glass off the window sill, I run back and grab his arm and drag him back, all the while he complains and moans and tells me it’s useless. Climbing onto the sill I turn back to him.
“Come on! It’s not a far jump, we can make it! See?” He just looks at me and smiles.
“Gomen Nasi nii-chan…but I can leave him.” My eyes widen as he pushes me off.

“NOOOO!!” Panting, he sat up. Gods…not again…why that dream…
Rolling out of bead he looked at the clock. 3:54am…great…Running a hand through his hair he began looking for a pair of pants. Finding some jeans that had holes and tears all along the legs, he quickly pulled them on and headed for the kitchen, not even bothering with a shirt.
Grabbing his lighter and pack of cigarettes off the counter he opened the only window in his shabby apartment. Lighting one of them he leaned his head against the frame. Images of his dream flashed before his eyes as he looked down at the slums of Tokyo. Shaking his head, he took a long drag and let out a sigh, this was turning into a nightly thing.
Gomen Nasi nii-chan…
“Damn it! This isn’t working!” Letting out a growl of frustration, he ground out his half burnt cigarette and began hunting for his knife.

“May I have this dance?” Looking up in surprise as a soft tune began, my eyes came to rest on Yohji. Letting out a smile I take his offered hand.
“Your such a hopeless romantic.” Nonetheless we made our way to the dance floor. We had decided to go out tonight, and he had taken me to one of my favorites, Ruhiger Himmel, or Peaceful Heaven. I liked it because it had the option of alcohol free drinks, smoking wasn’t allowed (a habit of Yohji’s I’ll never like), and the music they played didn’t make you leave with a headache. Most of what they played was pop, soft rock, and they did requests. Knowing Yohji, he was probably the one who got Nina to play my favorite song.
I noticed we weren’t the only couple slow dancing by now. My smile widening a bit, I rest my head on Yohji’s shoulder, burying my face in his neck. It’s times like this that made me glad he’s such a romantic.
“I love you Aya.” Kissing my hair, he holds me closer.
“Just promise you’ll never leave me, that you’ll never let go.” I whisper back. Opening my eyes, I look up at him. He just smiles back and plants another kiss on my forehead. Leaning my head back against his shoulder, I can’t help but notice the envious looks from all the couples around us. It gives me a warm feeling inside, knowing I have a lover everyone wants, but they can’t have. Knowing that I have Yohji’s center of attention and no one else does, makes me far happier that I thought possible.
When I was little, I had always thought that true love wasn’t real, that it was just some made up thing for little girls to follow, but then again, I had never met Yohji. At first he seems like a shallow prick that just wants to get into people’s pants, but now, now I know better. Now I know just how kind and caring he is, that he doesn’t just toss around love like a plaything. When it came to the ‘I love you’ part, he was extremely picky. He doesn’t choose friends and lovers unless he knows they’ll love him back. His libido however, well, we’ll just blame that on genetics.
As the song came to a close he had to suppress a groan, if only they could stay like that forever. He leads me off the stage as a techno song comes on. Raising my hand to his lips, he kisses it and looks up at me.
“Wanna go home love?”
“Yeah, I guess. It’s been a long day.” Kissing one more time, we grab our coats and head home, Nina waving at us on the way out.

The glare of florescent light against the white padded walls hurt as I slowly opened my eyes. Despite his struggles he had failed; he still ended up in living hell again. On the bright side of things, he remembered more about Yohji, and it was a good memory too.
Don’t worry, everything will be okay. I promise, no one will hurt you, I’m here to protect you...
Yohji…
Tears began streaming down his face as he remembered the whispered promise from their first night together. Curling up in a ball in the corner he cried and whimpered.
“Yohji, help me…please…I need you…”
