The stillness of the early evening was perfect. Ran lay tangled in Ken's arms watching the sunset cast brilliant colors across the land. Deep crimson and gold flirtatiously caressed soft violet and a few stars could be seen just sparking into life as the moons full face smiled down on him and his precious love. The gentle breeze made the curtains dance lazily as the sweet smell of flowers filled the room mixing with the musky smell of love and making it something new and wonderful. A low rumble of thunder sounded in the distance and dark clouds danced along the dusky violet of the sky as the stars trembled in their twinkling light.

Ran sighed happily remembering the first night he met Ken. The night was warm and sexual and caressed him like an aphrodisiac. He and Ken had made love countless times and most blended together and had no special meaning to him other than showing his love to Ken. There were a few nights that stood out in his mind that he could never forget no matter how long he lived. One night was the first night he met Ken and when they made love for the very first time. He remembered every word he whispered into the soft ear that night and every word whispered back to him. It wasn't the sex that stood out in his mind but the moments after it of Ken promising to love him once he got to know him and the moments before with the beautiful body bathed in soft candlelight and that wonderful boy giving the sweetness of his soul to him. His and Ken's first anniversary also stood out in his mind because they relived that first night except Ken no longer promised to fall in love with him but love him forever and the soft sensual whispers were fallowed by soft chuckles and some odd remarks. The night shortly after Ken was raped by Kase haunted him in a good way because that night he learned no matter what happened Ken was his and he was truly in love. Now tonight would haunt him just as much as the others because he now knew Ken was his world and his tie to this life and the joys in it. Then there was the day not to long ago where he and Ken made love like never before because he felt his love pulling away.

Ken stirred and grumbled softly about the oranges from outer space trying to take over the world by eating all the tomatoes. He smacked his lips and blinked at the dark night sky illuminated by flashes of lightning. He looked to his lover who was staring at the blank white ceiling clearly lost in thought. "Ran what are you thinking about?" He asked softly knowing it wasn't right to break the near blissful silence. "Us and the moments we've shared that I will most remember." Ran whispered back to him softly and looked down smiling. A cool hand cupped his face and gentle kisses were placed on his lips. "I love you Ken." He smiled and kissed back loving every moment. "I love you too Ran." He snuggled closer inhaling the warm scent of Ran's warm creamy skin. Ran always smelled faintly of roses, chocolate, and something sweetly spicy. "I was remembering all the times we've ever made love and going thought the times I remember most. Ken what times do you remember most?" He smiled at the soft question and thought for a while then smiled. "The first night we met, our anniversary, the time after Kase raped me, the night you bit me, and the night you first told me you loved me and promised to worship my body which you did." His love smiled and kissed him tenderly snuggling into him. "I still do Ken. I worship every part of you body and soul." He smiled brightly.

Blue eyes like a raging storm looked at the on coming storm with an impassiveness that was unsurprising. Rain pelted his little lot of land just as pain pelted his heart almost continuously. He wanted nothing more than to be in the arms of his red haired lover being kissed by those rose petal lips and touched by pale cream hands. A heavy sigh escaped dusk purple lips and eyes closed reaching for his love trying to find that sweet bond only to have it ripped away from him before he even got the slightest glimmer of hope. He snarled and spun on his heal glaring into his crimson and cream painted room draped in the lovely colors that held his heart. He sat and stroked the crimson satin fondly watching the world drift by thinking of hair that silky soft but warmer. He sighed deeply and shut the glass doors and watched the rain batter the land as his loneliness battered his heart. He had had the link and he felt the others attached to it if only for a second but it could be enough if he found Shion.

Kai looked at the man with long dark hair and sighed deeply. She really hoped this was the guy her friend had set her up with. A hand grabbed her arm and she turned to the smirking man wearing the promised out fit. "Baby you look hot lets skip dinner and go right on to dessert at my house." She was going to kill her friend once she murdered this ass and got rid of his body. "Get off me pervert." The man smirked and gripped into her arm more tightly eyes flashing in lust. "No way babe." She snarled and another hand grabbed the man's wrist. "The lady told you to let her go." The man snarled and turned to the man with long dark hair. "Fuck off buddy she is mine." There was the sound of bones snapping and the man let go and quickly ran off. "Thanks." The man nodded and took her hand gently and kissed it. "I'm Shion." She bit her lip thinking of that name. "Oh fuck you are Ran's master. Ken told me you were a real jerk."

Shion looked at the lovely girl and smiled chuckling warmly. He looked into lovely blue eyes and smiled. "I was. I was angry at Ken for hurting Ran and now that I've gotten to know Ken I must say he is a very kind person and I like him." The girl nodded and sighed deeply and he looked at her for a while. "I'm Yagami Kai." He nodded and smiled taking her hand. "A pleasure dear. You are Ken's friend the mortal with a brother that is dating Schuldich." She nodded and he sat looking at the ample flesh before him and the soft wisps of blond hair that hung down around a pretty face. Kai blinked at him and blushed looking away. He lifted a soft hand and kissed it tenderly. This girl was lovely and he wanted to show her she was. "I'd like to take you out for dinner and we could talk." The girl nodded and he stood helping her up and taking her hand.

Ken glared at the phone as it rang glad ran grabbed it before he could hit it with the meat mallet in his hand. "Kai slow down you are talking to fast." He rolled his eyes and went back to hammering the meat making it tender or just flat of which he wasn't sure yet. "So your blind date was an ass and you went out with Shion...how does that work?" He chuckled softly giving up on the hunk of meat and looking at his boyfriend. Ran hung up shaking his head and he snuggled into warm arms. "So Kai went out with Shion? She does know he is gay right?" His lover rose a quizzical eyebrow and looked at him for a long time. "Shion just loves beautiful people. It doesn't matter to him if they are male or female and Ken I hate to tell you Kai is beautiful and she has one of those personalities that makes her stunning." He nodded and looked at the horrid hunk of meat and sighed. "Ran the meat won't get tender no matter how much I pound on it. I say we call it quits and order take out." Ran nodded smiling at him slightly. "I say we throw the meat over the back fence for the poor starved dog back there." He nodded happily and picked up the raw hunk of meat and walked out the door chucking it over the fence then hopping up just to be sure it was in the dogs reach and smiled as the animal happily started to lick it slowly enjoying the fresh meal. Ran shook his head and pulled his lover off the fence and held him close sighing deeply. Ken leaned against him and he smiled nibbling the tender ear. "So what to get for dinner?" His love smiled up at him a little evilly. "That yummy Italian place down the street delivers." He rolled his eyes and went back into the house ordering the food.

After dinner Ken lat his back to the couch and his head on Ran's chest listening to the study heart beat that had been beating for five hundred years. Cool finger ran though his hair as they watched some odd movie. He was dozing pleasantly when the front door banged open and he jolted as Aya came skipping in beaming. He grumbled and snuggled back into Ran who had yet to stop petting him. "Ran! Ken! Yuushi and I just got engaged!" He peeked over the couch and grinned. "Congrats Aya not let me go back to snoozing on your bother." He grumbled as Ran stood and hugged his sister who showed off her ring. He got up and looked at the flashy diamond and smiled hugging the girl, and then shooing her out of the house telling her to inform Kai or the other girl would never forgive her.

Ran looked at his lover and smiled pulling Ken close once his sister left and kissing him tenderly. He gently stroked his lover's face and smiled petting soft hair. "Ken I love you with all my heart. Lets go to bed koi you look tired." Ken nodded and snuggled into him as he lifted him up and tenderly kissed his head. It was late and both of them were full and had a full day so he did not blame his sweet lover for being tired. He set his love on soft sheets and helped him strip then stripped himself and curled up next to the warm body running his fingers through silky chocolate locks. He felt even breaths drift across his chest and smiled as Ken started his nightly ramblings. Some times his koi talked about the strangest things in his sleep. Like the killer marshmallows from mars trying to eat his head or the tornado zombies trying to steal the spoons. He chuckled softly as Ken started talking about a new breed of tornado tomato zombies trying to get the magical fork. He shook his love gently not enough to wake him just enough to silence him and snuggled into warmth and quickly drifted into a sweet deep slumber.
