That afternoon after school Kyo and Tohru walked home together. At first they were silent, but then Tohru spoke up and said. “Do you think…we could…you know, have a relationship?
“W what do you mean?” Kyo replied as his face began to redden.
Tohru stopped and began to bow down and apologize. “I’m sorry for making you uncomfortable.”
“N no, its not that, I just meant, why… couldn’t we have a relationship?”
“Well with the curse and all, we could never hug.”
“Well, we could still…” Kyo’s face got redder.
They both stopped in their tracks and stared into each other’s eyes. Kyo leaned in slowly waiting for Tohru’s reaction. Tohru also moved in and their lips gently touched as Tohru’s cheeks flushed. They moved in all the way kissing more intensely as their eyes closed enjoying the kiss.
Right behind them came Hatsuharu and Momiji. Hatsuharu stood there for a moment looking at Tohru and Kyo with his mouth wide open. Momiji just kept happily hopping around.
“Momiji, look.”
“I know. They almost kissed this morning to before school.”
Hatsuharu looked at Momiji then back a Tohru and Kyo.
Tohru opened her eyes a bit and saw Hatsuharu staring. She quickly pulled away. “Oh, Hatsuharu, I…I didn’t see you there.”
Hatsuharu glared at Kyo “Wha are you up to cat?”
“It’s none of your business!” Kyo screamed while pointing at Hatsuharu.
Hatsuharu put his hands in his pockets and walked between Tohru and Kyo. “Come on Momiji.”
Momiji happily followed flinging around a red lollipop.
“Maybe we should go home now, we don’t need to keep Shigure worried.”
Kyo nodded and began walking beside Tohru. During the walk, their hands brushed and they looked at each other. Tohru lightly giggled and put her head down. Kyo slowly grabbed her hand and Tohru looked up, shocked. Kyo roughly smiled at her and then they held each other’s hand all the way home.
When they arrived in front of the house, Shigure slid open the door and looked at Tohru and Kyo holding hands. He paused a moment then began laughing. Kyo looked at him oddly.
“Well aren’t you to just adorable.”
“Shut up Shigure.” Kyo calmly replied.
Tohru followed Kyo into the house and put her things upstairs in her room.
Kyo sat down in the living room and began watching TV.
“Does Yuki know?” Shigure asked, as he passed by Kyo.
“Know what?”
“About you and Tohru.”
“Well, no. Why would that stupid rat care?”
“You haven’t noticed that Yuki cares about Tohru.”
“Well of course I’ve noticed, I’m not stupid. But Tohru said she liked me. She actually likes me! And that stupid rat isn’t going to ruin this for me!”
“Just be careful Kyo.” Shigure walked off into the kitchen.
Tohru walked downstairs and into the living room. She sat next to Kyo, careful not to embrace him. Tohru wanted to badly snuggle with him, but I was just not possible. I wonder if I could rest my head on his shoulder without him changing into a cat. While Kyo stared at the TV watching a Japanese cooking show, Tohru rested her head slowly on his shoulder. Nothing happened! As long as I don’t wrap my arms around him, It should be okay. Kyo looked down at Tohru oddly for a moment, then smiled. Soon after, Yuki came in through the door, “I’m home.”
Tohru shot up quickly, “Welcome home Yuki.”
Yuki smiled and put up his schoolbooks.
Tohru walked towards the kitchen. “I think I will make dinner now.”
Shigure heard her, and got all happy.
“Kyo, do you want to help me cook dinner?”
“I guess so.”
Yuki glared at Kyo as he passed by him. Yuki walked into the living room and started watching TV. He was distracted from his show, when he heard laughing in the kitchen next door.
“Kyo, stop drinking all the milk!”
“There’s plenty left, come on, one more sip.”
“Gimme that.”
And it when on and on until dinner was finished cooking. Kyo also helped Tohru set the table.
“Dinner’s ready!” Tohru yelled throughout the house.
Shigure happily ran to the table and Yuki followed sitting next to Tohru who was giggling and talking with Kyo. Yuki was quiet the whole evening, trying to ignore Kyo and Tohru. Later that night, he ended up going to his secret place again, and didn’t get back until late that night. Kyo and Tohru fell asleep watching TV.
When Tohru woke up that morning, she was holding Kyo in his cat form. I must have gotten to close to him. I should wake him up before he… But it was too late. * Poof *
Tohru quickly looked away a Kyo laid there naked. She blushed for a moment then covered him with a blanket.
Attempting to wake him up, she shook his shoulder. “Kyo. Kyo wake up”
He slowly opened his eyes and looked up and Tohru and smiled. He stood up and the blanket slid of. Tohru looked away again and Kyo looked down and ran to his room covering himself as he was freaking out. Shigure walked down stairs rubbing his eyes. “What’s all the racket down here?”
“Well…” Tohru’s cheeks got red. “Last night we fell asleep together, and when I woke up he was a cat… and he changed back.”
Shigure laughed a bit. “So did you see it?”
“What?”
In came Kyo screaming. “You pervert!”
“I just asked her an innocent question.”
“Innocent!?”
Tohru stood up, embarrassed. “I’m going to get ready for school.”
“Miss Honda, we don’t have school today.” Yuki replied as he walked downstairs.
“Oh, I almost forgot.” She lightly giggled.
Kyo walked into the kitchen and was in there for quite a while. No one bothered to ask what he was up to until he walked out with plates of breakfast food.
“Wow Kyo, you cooked breakfast!” Tohru cheerfully replied as she gazed at the delicious platter of foods.
Kyo set down the food at the table and everyone seated around. Yuki picked through his food, ashamed that he actually enjoyed it. He sat up quickly and walked away. “I’m not hungry.”
Everyone stared at him for a moment then Shigure and Kyo continued eating. Tohru watched him walk up the stairs until he disappeared into the second story. After everyone finished, she gathered the dishes and began cleaning them.
“Tohru, I’m going to the store for some more milk, I’ll be back in about in a little while.”
“Ok, be careful though Kyo.”
“I will.”
Kyo walked out the door as Tohru finished up the dishes. She wiped her hands then walked upstairs. On her way to her room, she heard crying in Yuki’s room. Is Yuki hurt? She opened the door slowly resvealing Yuki sitting on his bed with a tear on his cheek.
“YUKI!” Tohru quickly rushed to Yuki. “Are you okay? Why are you crying?
“Miss Honda!”
Tohru sat on his bed next to him and wiped off his tears off his cheek. “Yuki are you alright?”
“Yes, it’s nothing” Yuki gazed into her eyes
“You can tell me what’s wrong Yuki, I will understand.”
“Really, I’m fine.” He looked out the window far into the woods. “it’s beautiful outside today isn’t it?”
“Yes, yes it is.”
That sat there a moment enjoying the scenery.
“Yuki…”
“Yes Miss Honda?”
“I…”
Yuki leaned in and kissed Tohru thinking she was going to express her feelings for him. Tohru’s eyes shot open. Outside stood Kyo looking into the window as he saw Yuki kiss Tohru.
He ran into the house and upstairs as fast as he could. That son of a bitch is NOT going to take Tohru away from me! Tohru pulled away “Yuki…” But Yuki leaned in again and forced a kiss upon her lips. Kyo broke through the door and punched Yuki into the wall. “How dare you!”
Yuki rubbed his face where he was punched. “Kyo don’t hurt him!” Tohru screamed. Kyo threw another punch at him with all his might, hitting him once more. Tohru shut her eyes with her hands over her face.
“Why did you kiss her!”
“She loves me!”
Tohru mumbled something, and everything became quiet. “Yuki, I’m sorry. I love you yes, but only as a friend. My heart belongs to Kyo. That’s what I tried to say…before you kissed me.
Yuki looked down in shame and embarrassment. He ran out the door pushing Kyo down and ran outside. Tohru began crying and rested her face into her hands. Kyo wanted to hug her so badly. But he would change. Kyo ran towards her and hugged her tightly. * Poof * Tohru held Kyo in her arms as she cuddled with him for what seemed hours. Yuki never returned that night or even that morning.
