// Gentle Emotions and Undying Loneliness // ~Part Two~

Summary: Life is good for Hayate and Himeno. Their troubles are over and life had never been sweeter. Two years together, probably going to be married soon, in love... What could go wrong, right?... A love unspoken and one impulsive action on it, causing a chain of events that could possibly wake the Princess of Disaster once more is what.

Disclaimer: Not mine, never were, never will be. This plot is mine, and all made up characters which may or may not be seen are mine. Nothing else is mine. Nothing. Because I have nothing at all... Poor, poor me.

A/N: Sorry the update took so long, lot of stuff happening. Short chapter now, but a longer chapter next. And smut, did I mention there will be smut in the next chapter? Yush, there will be, but the story is far from over. Thanks for being patient with me. I will have the next chapter up by tomorrow.

Chapter 4:
// Gentle Emotions and Undying Loneliness // ~Part Two~

Please, Hayate, don\'t push me away. Please, kiss me back, please, don\'t hate me... Please... I\'m so broken you can\'t hurt me anymore... Just please... Don\'t leave, or there won\'t be any pieces left of me for the hope I can be whole again. I need you, Hayate, to help me feel. The world is cold and gray and it kills me...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hayate\'s eyes went wide, and his first reaction was to push him away. His wide eyes looked down into the one\'s below his, watching as tears clouded those honest blue eyes that begged... Begged for something he couldn\'t give. \"No... No, Sasame.\" He did push him away, back and he fell heavily upon the bed as the dark-haired man\'s body shimmered away.
He appeared outside, in the garden, on the small river near the bells... Where they would meet with Himeno, where his memories were strongest of Sasame. The river where he watched on as Sasame and Himeno would prêt and practice. Where she blew away most of the walls for the small river, he watched as the blue water lapped at the newly constructed walls, standing on the bridge.
The way Sasame would smile gently, pain simmering just beneath his eyes, behind that perfectly constructed smile. Had he been wrong now in his thoughts? Had he been the one to pain his friend so? Was he the cause of those gentle smiles? And that kiss... That kiss.
That kiss that sent his heart racing despite himself, emotions surging within him stronger than he had ever felt. What was this? Why did he want to cry? Why was Himeno\'s face oddly absent from his mind? He couldn\'t seem to recall her, unless she was with Sasame. The more he tried to recall her voice, her smile, her kiss... The more his mind replaced this with images of Sasame.
The way he would look into the distance for hours, the way he would leave himself and Kei for days at a time and worry him to death. The swirl of his cloths around him as he turned, the faint smell of soap and flowers that seemed to cling to him, the way he could laugh when he was truly happy, the shining look in his eyes when they would be alone and Sasame would just look at him... Had Sasame really been that easy to read back then? Had it really been so easy to tell the man loved him?... And he had ignored it.
He suddenly felt responsible for this, for everything that had happened and he wanted to die. He sat on the bridge, legs off the edge as he watched the smooth water. Just like Sasame, smooth and unbreakable on the surface... But underneath, flowing and liquid, not as tangible as the surface appeared to be. He watched as a drop of water hit the surface, breaking it and making it ripple. It was just that easy, wasn\'t it? To get under the glassy surface... And he continued to watch as more and more water hit the surface, splintering and cracking his reflection in the water... Rain falling like tears he wanted to cry, down his cheeks to break the water\'s surface and to mingle with the water underneath.
A/N: There, short. Sets things up for coming chapter. Still read and review so I know your still with me, ok? I promise, things will get less sad in chapters to come.
WARNING: If you are anyone besides \'LOTRfan\', you need not read this. I love my few faithful reviewers, but I have a bone to pick with her.
Rants: Sorry, I just had to rant. I just read my reviews and one that pissed me off. LOTRfan, excuse my french but, FUCK OFF. Just because you probably can\'t write any better and have no love for fluffy-ness and depression and such doesn\'t mean that you can flame other people, ok? I don\'t really mean to get angry, but it pisses me off. To say YOU did not like it, maybe even give \'make betters\', as I call them, on how I can improve, is good. NEVER tell a writer to stop writeing. There are too few of us who can string coherent paragraphs together, we need all the people we can get. Help people get better, don\'t flame or you will hear fuck off from more than one person in your life, and more than a few will be in real life, I\'m sure. If you have nothing better to do then to pick apart my story lines, maybe you should actually look into this thing called \'real life\'. You can take your flames and burn, ok? And in the meantime, leave innocent creative people ALONE. Bitch.
