Threats
Seras stared down at the book in front of her trying to ignore the burning gaze of Integral. She had at one time looked up to the woman. Now she tired to stay as far away as possible. Since the night they had watched the moon rise Seras had seen very little of Alucard and she wondered if he regretted his words to her. He had come every night to feed her then he was gone, leaving her body burning for him. He said very little if anything and left as silently as he came.
“Do you like working with Hellsing?”
Seras looked up warily and nodded
“It’s a job that needs to be done.”
Integral smirked at her.
“You know when he tires of you, you’ll have nothing. The only reason your in Hellsing is because he asked it of me.”
Seras clutched the edge of the book till her knuckles turned white and it began to crumble under her hands.
“Hum, I wonder how long that will take? Not long I should suspect. Then what will you do? You’ll no longer be protected or fed. That means you’ll have to feed off humans. That means we’d have to kill you. Maybe I’ll have Alucard do it. That would be Ironic don’t you think?”
Seras got to her feet with all the dignity she could manage and walked out. She refused to let the tears fall until she was in the underground passages. They slipped silently down her face. She had vowed to do what she could to help humans. However the choice was going to be taken out of her hands. Shoulders slumped she pushed open the door to her room to find Alucard waiting for her. She ignored him and lay down on the bed rolling onto her side her back to him. She felt the mattress shift as his weight lowered to it and felt a gentle hand trying to turn her over but she shrugged it off.
“Come Seras. Do not turn from me.”
She choked back a sob.
“What is wrong?”
She shook her head wordlessly and let him turn her onto her back. His hand bare of his gloves whipped away her tears and gently held her chin.
“What has upset you so my fierce lioness?”
She locked her red gaze with his wondering if she should tell him.
You should tell me Seras. Never wonder. Secrets are not something that will be between us unless there is reason for it.
She shook her head.
“And if I have a reason?”
He regarded her calmly.
“Tell me the reason then.”
She shook her head.
“Even that may anger you. Please Alucard. Leave me be.”
He searched her face carefully then lowered his face to hers his lips brushing hers.
“You do not wish me to feed you?”
She shook her head.
“Or kiss you?”
She stared up into his eyes. They held and intensity to them that made her burn.
“Yes”
Alucard would not leave it there. He knew something had upset her. He wished to know, but for now, he would let it go. He would find out soon enough. Instead he lowered his mouth to press more firmly against hers and ran his tongue along the seam of her lips.
“Then let me in Seras. Kiss me.”
Her mouth opened under his welcoming him into the warm depths. His kiss was first soothing but he could no more hold back then he could not be here with her. He drew her like nothing else had. His kiss grew passionate and his body slid over hers. This night was different. He had deliberately held himself back the last few nights, only feeding her trying to make her burn as he did. She had burned. She had wanted. He felt her shift underneath him and found himself on his back with Seras kissing him instead of the other way around. Her kiss had a desperate edge to it and he answered the sirens call.
