A/N: thanks to all my loyal readers and reviewers! just for you, chapter 5! sorry it's so short, but that's because we're coming to the end. one more chapter to go, and it'll be done. but don't worry. i do have a christmas story in the making, though i can't promise it'll be anywhere near done for christmas. without further ado, bring on the angst!

Chapter 5: Too Much

I can’t believe you would do this to us! We love you! God dammit, we love you! Why would you do this? It’s unforgivable!
But I’ll forgive you—we’ll forgive you—if you just open your eyes! Dammit! All these misunderstandings have put us all through pain, but God! You have to wake up to resolve any of it!
You’ve been asleep for two months. The doctors don’t know why you haven’t woken, but some on-call psychiatrist told us that your consciousness is trying to escape from the chaos your breakdown caused. Is that true, Shu? Do you know that you survived and are now trying to escape us?
Yes, Shu, we’re going to be angry! But not because you did this. We’ll be angry because you ever thought that we didn’t love you. Dammit! Even Sakuma-san is killing himself over this, though he has no real attachment to you. He’s your rival, why should he care? But he does, Shu. Even Seguchi-san is terribly upset. These past two months, NG has been in an uproar. But it has also come to a grinding halt. Whoever would have thought that the company would come to an uproarious halt over one punk rocker? Well, me. You can’t help but become the heart of everything you come into contact with, Shu—NG Productions, K, Sakano, Fujisaki, anyone really.
But Yuki-san most of all. Shu, I know you thought you had good reasons, but how stupid can you be? Yuki-san loves you! After all this time, don’t you know that? If he wasn’t in love with you, do you think he could stay with you like this? He’s not the type to stay with someone out of guilt, you know. He fucking loves you! He’d be here by your side, but the stress and exhaustion finally got to him. His ulcer acted up, and he passed out. That’s why he’s not here right now. But he doesn’t blame you, Shu. I don’t think he ever will.
The most surprising thing, though, was how Sakuma-san reacted. I’ve already told you that he really has no reason to act like this, but call me crazy, Shu; I think he likes you. I think he really wants to be your friend. He’s stopped singing. His childlike personality has completely disappeared. I think he’s having a breakdown right along with you, Shu.
God, Shuichi, I don’t know if I can take it anymore. The press has been all over your story for these past two months. Even though Seguchi-san is doing everything to stop them, they still find a way to pry. All this press about you has affected Yuki-san’s career, but he’s stopped caring. His editors are still holding out for him, but I don’t think he’ll ever write again if you don’t wake up.
