Chapter 5: What in the world should the young man do?
Ciel closed the book of demon lore and gazed around the library, hoping for some solution to pop out at him. His head hurt. He'd managed to concentrate on his company's paperwork for two hours that morning, but had eventually come down here to research the thing which had been nagging at his memory. he needed a moment to think this through. He pushed the books to the side and rubbed his temple.
The earl knew what he stood to lose now. The demon must not know his weakness - not under any circumstances. Acting aloof would only work for so long. Sebastian would be thinking about it too, and unless led to a different conclusion, he would eventually discover the truth.
It had been a week, but the strange atmosphere between them had not changed. Ciel had been careful, but his butler was only too aware of how careful he was being. Something needed to happen to ease the tension, to explain his actions...
So why would he have kissed Sebastian back that night? Why else, other than…
Curiosity might do it, yes. Infatuation would mean weakness, but curiosity was another matter.
But that would mean he would have to keep showing his interest. Of all the damned stupid situations to get himself into…
He would just have to do it in a way that allowed him to take control. He must remain the master at all costs.

"My lord?"
"Take care of this."
"I hardly think it appropriate for a butler to touch his master in such a familiar way."
The young master sat quite brazenly in his easy chair, his trousers undone and his rampant erection shamelessly exposed.
"Who said anything about familiarity? You touch me there every day when you wash me. I don't see how this is any different. Besides, you already broke your precious butler aesthetic quite soundly at the Savoy last week."
The young lord's first acknowledgement of that night was like a slap in the face. The master shunned any affection and expected his butler to pleasure him on command, like a prostitute.
