Chapter 6
Jill watched Leon working his way through the paperwork. It was about a week since she had seen Leon so much as smile. He hadn\'t said what had happened but from what she could figure, it wasn\'t going to be easy to play Cupid to these two. Getting her coat she called to him. \"Leon, I\'m going out for a while, want anything?\" A mournful refusal came from behind the paperwork.
Opening the pet shop door, she saw the Count. He raised he head sadly. \"Oh hello Miss Jill.\" His voice sounded tired. \"Hey Count, what happened?\"
\"Regarding?\" D looked at her with red rimmed eyes.
\"You and Leon, what did you say? He\'s hardly moved or said a word since last week and to be honest you look as bad as he is!\"
\"I simply told him what happened and why.\"
\"And in the process you almost lost the man you love!\" D\'s eyes widened.
\"You know?\"
\"Yeah, he told me about Mrs Andover\'s and when you asked him to stay when you were ill, well that told me that you loved him.\" Jill put her hands on her hips. \"Why can\'t you just tell him so?\" D hung his head.
\"My Grandfather does not approve Miss Jill. I do love Leon but...\"
\"But nothing Count, so your Grandfather doesn\'t approve, if you really love him you will either make him approve or get a spine and go against his opinion!\"
D looked up at her surprised. \"Miss Jill, I do love Leon enough to go against my Grandfather, please could you help me? I suspect that Leon will not wish to speak with me at this time.\"
\"Alright, what can I do?\"
Leon jumped when his phone rang, picking it up he heard Jill\'s voice on the other end. \"Hey Leon, I need you to go to this address.\" He grabbed some paper and wrote the address down as she related it, the thought passed though his mind that it was not far from D\'s shop, he quickly dismissed the thought. \"Ok got it, do I need to speak to anyone in particular?\"
\"Yeah, ask for room 12, you will find the person you need to talk with in there.\"
\"Ok Jill, I\'ll get on to it.\"
Jill put the phone down. \"He\'s on his way, now it\'s up to you!\" D nodded and hoped it would work.
The Noble Dragon Hotel was not a top class place but a cut above where he\'d met squealers before. \"I\'m looking for room 12\" he asked the receptionist.
\"Ah yes sir, I believe you are expected. Your keys to the bridal suite and a message.\" The desk clerk handed over a folded piece of paper. Opening it he saw Jill\'s handwriting, \'Sorry Leon, I hope you forgive me for this. Jill\' folding it back up he placed it in his pocket.
Leon stood outside the door of the bridal suite listening for a moment, then knocked. Jill opened the door. \"Come in.\" The room was large with two high backed chairs facing an open fireplace, a half open door revealed the bedroom. \"Sit down and meet my guest.\" Said Jill. Leon sat and looked over at the other chair. \"What is that doing here Jill?\"
