The Calm
Chapter 6: Dealing Death
*Took from me all that I had
With my soul and spirit dead
Killing everything in me
What is one use to be free*
The rain fell in torrents as he ran; the darkness of the sky was like spilt ink. No stars, no moon, lit his path. The streetlights se to to flicker into darknes he he ran past as well. There was no escape. He turned down a blind alley, slamming into the brick of the dead end. His hands clawed at the cold stone as he frantically searched for an escape from his pursuer. It was in that desperate moment, he heard it, the grating sound of steel against wood, the glint of silver in the near pitch blackness of night. There was a flash of lightning, revealing a cold face, a pair of silver eyes staring with a feral fury from beneath a curtain of black. A scar traveling over the left eye, making the assassin seems even fiercer.
“P-please!” he begged in a whisper, his voice not able to go any louder from the throat tightening fear.
* Now to drive away the pain
I\'ll destroy all I distain
I\'ll become what I despise
Living someone elses life*
The assassin said nothing. The sword moved with an almost demonic speed. He felt the bite of metal into his throat and the warm spill of blood that drenched his chest. He fell heavily to his knees, his hands clutching his bleeding throat in an attempt to stop it. A gurgled cry bubbled from his mouth as more red liquid spilled from his mouth. The assassin watched with a cold uncaring as he fell to her feet, his reddened hands grabbing at her ankles.
*(Don\'t ever back down)*
Amaya turned sharply from her victim on her heel as she sheathed Ookami. Her eyes seemed empty, unfeeling as she melted into the shadows of the rainy night. A mere afterthought as the man bled his life into the cleansing rain.
* Don\'t ever back down
Don\'t ever turn around
My end has come
So now I come for you*

She screamed as she watched her bodyguard fall into a bloody pile of flesh and bone. Her once flawless grey suit now splattered with the blood of the fallen. She drew a gun and pointed it at the cold blooded killer before her. “I’ll shoot you before you touch me, bitch!” she shouted.
* Now obsession rules my mind
This commotion makes me blind
Searching out who ever runs
Or has stolen away my life*
A malicious smile crept across the assassin’s lips. “A challenge, I see,” she mumbled as she readied her sword. “Want to try me?” she asked.
The woman narrowed her dark brown eyes at the grey orbs of her would be killer. She then squeezed the trigger.
* But I’ve already said*
A flash of steel and the deafening sound of a gun being fired shattered the air about the two women. The woman in her business suit gasped as blood poured from her chest. She dropped the gun. “You aren’t human!” she gasped as she fell.
The assassin stretched her neck and felt the twinge of pain as the bullet in her shoulder made itself known. ‘Bitch got me, she was good,’ she commented in her head. She then stared down at the corpse and grinned sadistically. ‘But not good enough,’ she thought as she turned and vanished into the night.
* Don\'t ever back down
Don\'t ever turn around
My end has come
So I come for you*
~*~*~*~
*AHHHH!*
~*~*~*~
*You trip on everything
I\'ll take your tired breath
I can\'t feel anything
I live to see you to your death*
The moon shone down through the passing clouds. Two assassins faced one another in a darkened alley. One stared with eyes of cold fog on a winter morning, the other, with eyes of deep emerald. Black hair shone like an obsidian waterfall over a scar passing over a grey eye and pale, flawless skin. Short, spiky blue hair defied gravity with the assistance of much hair glue as the moonlight glinted over many piercings and a white tiger tattoo over half of a tanned, square face.
“You’re the Wolf?” the male asked.
Amaya grinned. “You’ve heard of me?”
The man snorted. “You’re a boogeyman to all syndicates that rival the Red Dragons. Many have said that you’re a ghost that cannot be killed.”
*A new heart with me
As might be just as quick
Through your tortured expends
Cuz I\'ll never back down*
Amaya shrugged. “That might be true,” she said.
“I’m here to prove that,” he said as he pulled out a pair of long bladed knives from wrist sheathes under his silver coat.
Amaya shrugged again. “If you say so,” she sighed as she stood into a defensive position, her left hand on the hilt of Ookami, ready to strike.
* Don\'t ever back down
Don\'t ever turn around
My end has come
So now I come for you*
The man leapt forwards and slashed out with his blades. One cut into her shoulder, a blossom of blood appearing on a black garbed sleeve. Amaya winced and then drew her sword, slashing the other assassin across the gut, sending him backwards into an opposing wall.
*(Don’t Back down)*
He gasped for lost breath as blood spilled from his lips in a trickle. He grinned as he stood and wiped the crimson liquid from his skin. “A challenge, I like that,” he said as he attacked again.
Amaya grinned ferally. “So do I,” she said as she moved with her almost unnatural speed and cut into his body again, taking out a leg and slashing into his chest, sending him spinning to the ground.
The man coughed up blood and stared with wild green eyes at her. “What the fuck?!”
Amaya grinned and sheathed the katana in her hand after shaking his blood from her blade. “I’ve been around a lot longer than you, boy. I could never be defeated by a rookie with a few good kills.”
The man growled and narrowed his green eyes at Amaya. “Bitch!” he shouted as she leapt to his feet and charged.
*I\'ll drive you down
I\'ll beat you to the ground
My end has come
So now I come for you*
Amaya sighed as she rolled her eyes and slashed out once again, her body moving with her blade as she lopped off the other assassin’s head with one fell mover ber back turned to him as he fell in a boneless heap behind her, his crimson life spilling in a flood onto the cold concrete. She glanced over her shoulder and sighed heavily as she walked into the shadows.
“They never learn,” she muttered as she melted into the darkness, rain washing away all remnants of her and the congealing blood on the ground as she vanished. “Damn, I need a shower,” she complained as she melted into the night.
*DON’T BACK DOWN!*

Levii: I know, this was plotless, but I think it was necessary to illustrate how different Amaya is from her old personas. Plus, the last chappy was kinda fluffy, I needed a little blood to bring back the darker side. It also shows how damn good Amaya is at her job. Don\'t worry, I\'ll get back to the story soon, this was just a time away from it. Or was it? hehehe... I don\'t even know what I\'m saying anymore, I\'ll stop now. Remember to REVIEW! Ja ne!
