not trying to spoil anything, but if you have a problem with shounen-ai, then please just skip the slightly suggestive remarks, or completely ignore them. if you don’t like that kind of stuff, then maybe this fic isn’t for you. further more, if anyone flames, I shall flame back. I don’t do flames. I believe in constructive criticism, not some closed minded moron who doesn’t want to see so-and-so have a relationship. there is no graphic writing (yet XD), so sorry to disappoint those of you who happen to be into to that kind of thing.
sorry for the rant.

Chapter 6: Another Love, Lost
He was flying close to the barriers of the real and digital worlds. So close to seeing Ai and Maiko, and even Jeri. But as always it was never close enough. White noise blared all around and below was the unforgiving sands of the deserts. Mock telecommunication satellites flew by in rows, followed by rows of phony skyscrapers. He often came to areas like these to fell closer to home.
Beelzemon wasn’t sure how to get back to the real world. He couldn’t remember how he’d done it in the first place. He certainly hadn’t been strong enough then, but now he was bursting with energy and data. Literally. He could scream at his newest intrusion. Panjyamon had insisted, though.
But what did Panjyamon mean by “haven’t returned to her yet”?
It didn’t make sense, but Beelzemon knew it couldn’t be good.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~In the Real World, West Shinjuku
Henry’s father, Janyu, had been working full time with Yamaki and the team. The old D-reaper program had taken days to delete, and it was only because of Henry and his friends. Janyu had then let Henry down, once again, when it turned out the digimon couldn’t stay. It had been a tearful fate as the tamers watched the digimon return to the digital world. It was that, or suffer deletion. Henry and Takato had found the old portal in Guilmon’s hide out, but when they gathered the rest of the tamers the portal had vanished. Janyu told Henry there was no going back. He was devastated. The gap that had developed between Janyu and his son slowly widened.
Janyu worked night and day to try to figure out a way for the little digimon Terriermon to come back He looked at it like this - if Henry could be reunited with Terriermon, they could be father and son. Or at least Henry would be his former self. But until then, he was a walking ghost. A shell with nothing inside. It seemed Terriermon was a part of his soul, and without it, he was withering.
Janyu had talked to the other former tamers. They had been melancholy when he asked about the digimon, but otherwise they were leading a normal life. Janyu asked Rika and Rio about the changes in Henry. They looked down at their feet and said they didn’t know anything.
He knew they were lying.
But why?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Back In the Digital World, Campsite
Renamon was prowling around the village, making sure Beelzemon didn’t decide to pay a visit. However, he showed no signs of returning. She sat down of the cod, hard ground, staring into the fire they had made. Night had long descended, and above, data streamed with the stars. There was no sunset, and there would be no sunrise. Night always flew in as if someone flipped an on/off switch. She looked up, and saw no moon. Oh Gods, how she missed the real world, how she missed Rika. But no matter how much she missed her tamer, she knew Terriermon was suffering a hundred fold.
Everyone knew it. Even if he didn’t know that they did.
Everyone knew full and well that he and Henry were much more than tamer and digimon. Well, everyone but the other tamers.
Save Rika and Rio, of course.
Renamon had known first when Terriermon had first digivolved to Gargomon. She couldn’t understand why Henry had felt so tense at first. She thought it was because he was so protective of the little bunny. But later, when Rika, Takato, and Guilmon had left, she saw Henry and Gargomon.
They were.......embracing, as she would later put it.
The rest of the digimon found out from Terriermon himself. When they had returned to their world, they all talked about the fight with the D-reaper. Terriermon had described the Bio-evolution between Henry and himself. He said it was perfect, the way they combined. That it was the single most amazing thing in the world, the feeling of being so close to him, of being one with him.
Any outsider would have simply see this as Terriermon being awed by the joining of human and digimon. But no, they saw it.
Terriermon and Henry loved each other. It was unconventional, as it most certainly couldn’t be normal.
She looked at him. His eyes were closed, long ears dragging on the ground. Lopmon sat next to him, munching on some meat-on-a-stick. Terriermon wasn’t eating, but rather thinking, his dinner lying untouched while being eyed by both the de-digivolved Monodramon and Guilmon. She then realized his chest was heaving, his eyes tightly shut.
“Terriermon, what’s wrong?” Renamon became worried. If this had anything to do with Beelzemon, she’d personally hunt him down, rip his balls off, and serve him them on a plate.
Renamon watched as he put his hands over his eyes. She stood up and leaped over the fire to him. By now everyone was aware, watching. She knew she’d never get anything out of him the rest of those morons sitting there, so she scooped him up. Before anyone could say any protest, she teleported away from their camp. They were instantly gone from the warm glow of the fire and bathed in the eerie light of the data streams. It wasn’t until they were alone that he let out the most anguished cry she had ever heard. Immediately goose bumps crept underneath her pelt, as she feared for the poor digimon.
“Terriermon, I know this has to do with Henry. Please, stop hiding your tears. We all are your friends, so your affliction need not to be alone. We’re all in this together, and one day we’ll return. One day you’ll get to see Henry and”-
“Bunny Blast!” She felt a sharp stinging sensation in her chest where she had held him. Her fur was only a little singed, but he had only intended to get out of her arms. He was running away from her, but she was quicker.
One quick leap and she landed in front of him. She opened her mouth to admonish him, but stopped when she saw his tears.
“Terriemon,” she said gently, “please tell me what’s wrong.”
He hiccuped. He swallowed. Balled his little fists, then unballed them. More tears, a lot of sniffles. Finally he spoke.
“There isn’t any reason to go back for me, Renamon.”
“Terriermon, don’t say that”-
“There isn’t, because.......
Because Henry is dead.”
