Battles
6 –Battles
I loved Episode Four, if only because we get to see Hibiki in a skirt that was cut high on his legs. This chapter falls around the events of that episode. Oh, and I admit to Vandread Meia being my personal favorite.
Duero smiled and kept his chuckles at bay as he saw the boy in his Register uniform.
He had come to see if the younger man was going to be okay with the new assignment but finding him dressed in a shirt with wide blousy sleeves and the red vest and skirt, that was cut high on his hips and dropped only past the lowest edge of his Fundoshi, the older man was doing well to keep his humor in check and move away unnoticed.
He would wait and find out how the day had gone later.
Hibiki finished out his first day as a register employee and slunk back to his cell.
The little red slippers hurt his feet and he only wanted to strip out of this getup and change back to his own clothes.
He plopped down on his pallet and crossed his leg, pulling off the shoe and the black and white short sock, too.
Duero arrived as he was tossing the slipper onto his bed next to him and the doctor stood in the open area between the crates and watched the boy.
Hibiki looked up and the doctor smiled down at him.
“What?” Hibiki said as he traded his legs and pulled off the other shoe.
“That is a very short piece of clothing.” Duero said teasing the boy who blushed darkly and quickly shifted the skirt over his exposed crotch.
“I am not wearing it again. That big woman says my own clothes are fine for tomorrow since I am not working with the other girls.” Hibiki complained as he shifted on the pallet.
“Hibiki?” Duero said as he watched the pilot fidget.
Hibiki looked up at the doctor’s face. “Nani?” he said.
“Can I kiss you?” Duero asked, his expression yearning. “Just a kiss, nothing more.” he added.
Hibiki looked around and without returning to the face of his fellow male, he nodded slowly.
Duero dropped onto his knees and moved closer. He kept his hands up and reached for the smaller man’s face.
Hibiki shifted his seating and soon found the other had moved between his raised knees.
Duero pulled the frilly headband from Hibiki’s hair and lifted Hibiki’s chin till his lips found the soft flesh of the pilot.
Hibiki felt Duero’s mouth touch his and he froze feeling the smooth skin brush together, and when Duero opened his lips to gently brush across the pilot’s lips, Hibiki gasped, opening his mouth to the doctor’s exploring muscle.
Duero only let his tongue moved in enough to brush across the tip of the other and run across the straight edges of the pilot’s teeth and then retreated to his lips once more.
At the touch of the doctor’s tongue to his, Hibiki felt a warm churning in his body and he squirmed as he willed it to stop. Finally, he pulled back and looked up at the curious look on the other’s face.
“That was . . . .” Hibiki began.
“Thank you, Tokai-kun.” Duero said as he pulled away and dropped his hands to his sides. “Do you need help taking this off? This piece of female clothing intrigues me,” he added tugging at the front flap of the skirt.
“I can do it myself.” Hibiki said slapping his hand away and shifting the skirt back again.
“Okay, then. I am going to bed, I will be waiting.” Duero said rising and moving to the other pallet.
As trust grew between the groups, the women released the prisoners to separate quarters on the far side of the ship, away from them and allowing for privacy to all parties.
Hibiki took the smaller room as befit his third-class ranking and since he had no personal possessions, he arranged crates around his area to give the illusion of property.
As he climbed onto the wall mounted bed rack at night he realized how alone he was. Around the time silence reigned over the area, he would slip out of bed and make his way to the largest of the three rooms and into the welcome warmth of Duero’s arms.
The doctor was a patient man and he greeted the boy without words, only strong sure arms and a ready smile.
Hibiki could now sleep. Secure and held in the steady feeling of companionship.
Battles continued by day and the ship was in constant danger, but at least in the night Hibiki felt safe.
He had yet to find another opportunity to share a kiss with the doctor, it was a broody problem for the volatile little pilot and other than when in bed, he was never alone with the doctor for long and he was not ready to add that to the time in the man’s arms.
It would surely affect the ease he felt and to Hibiki that was the most important part of his time in Duero’s bed.

The rush he felt from the formation of the Vandread Meia buoyed the pilot down the halls and into his part of the ship.
He could feel the power of the created transformation and though he would never admit it to any of the women, he would always love the merging with Meia’s Dread over all of the others.
Now, as he reclined on his bunk, his mind wandered back over the events of the battle.
His life being in danger was a rush in and of itself but most importantly the fact that the lives of others depended on him, made him feel important and just a little bit larger.
Duero arrived in the room a little while after him and stood back watching the confidence that was radiating off of the smaller man.
“I was great, wasn’t I?” Hibiki said without looking up.
“You were great. That new machine is very effective, also.” Duero admitted.
“Then, I deserve a congratulatory kiss!” Hibiki announced, cracking an eye open.
The doctor moved forward, slowly, as he spoke. “If you needed a kiss, I’m sure Dita would be more than willing to congratulate you.” And he stopped before he reached the bunk.
“And if that wasn’t what I needed? Would you deny me the kiss that would make me feel truly appreciated?” Hibiki said, frowning.
Duero chuckled as he stepped forward and leaned over the prone young man. “I would never deny you a kiss, even had you failed in battle.”
Hibiki smiled as the doctor leaned closer and allowed his lips to graze those of the pilot.
This kiss was chaste and Hibiki was about to complain, but as the doctor didn’t pull away, he reached around Duero’s neck and pulled him closer.
Hibiki felt the doctor’s lips part and he sent his tongue in search finding the other’s and caressing it lovingly.
Duero allowed Hibiki the control of the kiss, giving in to the pilot’s feeling of confidence after a successful battle.
When the doctor finally pulled free, Hibiki watched him intently. “Do you feel congratulated now, Tokai-kun?” Duero asked as the cocoa brown eyes of the pilot regarded him.
Hibiki nodded, his eyes glued to those of the doctor. His breathing was shallow and his body felt warm all over.
The doctor’s face was still close, and yet he couldn’t focus on it.
He could feel the heat of the shared space on his cheeks and the movement of the air between their mouths as they shared a breath.
Duero quickly kissed the pilot again and pulled away.
The suddenness of his movement shocked Hibiki and he let go, watching the taller man back away and turn toward the stack of boxes that Hibiki used for a table in the small quarters.
“Meia must be feeling fairly proud, also.” Duero said, “Perhaps, I should go and congratulate her, also.”
“Do you want to . . . congratulate, Meia?” Hibiki asked sitting up.
Duero turned his head and stared at the pilot.
Hibiki pulled his eyes away from the doctor.
“I want to congratulate you. Only you. But, I will tell Meia that she has done well.” Duero said. “Later.” And he returned to sit next to the pilot and pulled him close.
