Summary: K finds a lost little girl
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“Daddy, Daddy! Let’s walk through the park!” Michael insisted as he grabbed and tugged on his fathers arm. K laughed at how eager his son was and allowed himself to be pulled along. It had been a long time since K last saw his son, nearly 4 months now. He was delighted when Judy called and asked if he could stay in Japan while she went away to shoot a new movie. So for the next 6 months, Michael would be living in Japan with him. It was now the younger Winchesters third day in the county and K had decided to take the day off work so they could spend some quality father/son time.
K sat down on a nearby bench while Michael ran off with some of the other kids to play hide and seek for a while. The blonde was glad for this chance to rest, they had been out since early that morning and Michael had wanted to go everywhere. They had been to the aquarium, the museum and the arcade so far. There were still plenty of places left on Michael’s list to visit. The blonde closes his eyes and leaned his head back, enjoying the warmth of the sun on his face. He could have quite easily fallen asleep had it not been for the sound of sobbing behind him. K opened his eyes and looked over the back of the bench, seeing a little girl who looked no older than Michael curled up on the ground.
“Hey there” K called out gently. The girl looked up at K with large eyes overflowing with tears. “Hey, I’m not going to hurt you. Are you okay?” He asked. The shook her head and stood up, swiping at the tears in her eyes. “I-I’m lost…” She sniffled. Ks heart melted at the sight, she was awfully cute in her little pink dress and dark hair pulled up into little pigtails.
“Don’t cry” K said, kneeling down and reaching out a hand to the girl. She looked at his cautiously before slipping her hand into his and stepping closer. “What’s your name?” The girl hiccupped and sniffled. “M-Mia”. K stood up, keeping a hold on the little girls’ hand.
“That’s a very pretty name. Now, where was the last place you saw your mommy?”
“Mommy’s in heaven” Mia replied. K looked sad for a moment, the poor girl was without a mother at such a young age. “What about your daddy?” he asked…hoping the father hadn’t suffered the same fate as the mother. “Daddy was buying ice-cream, but I saw a pretty butterfly and tried to catch it. I ran too far away from daddy and now I can’t find him” A fresh wave of tears poured down Mias cheeks. K reached out and gave the little girl a gentle hug. “Now, now. How about we go and find your daddy together?”
“Mia! MIA!”
K could hear the distressed call of who he assumed to be the father. Mias face lit up and she let go of Ks hand, dashing away from him. “Daddy!”
K turned round to watch the girl run to her father, His eyes widened in surprise.
“S-Sakano?”
Sure enough, there was Sakano, hugging Mia tight with a look of immense relief on his face. He was dressed in pale blue jeans and a bright red t-shirt, he was also wearing contact lenses.
“Oh Mia! I was so scared, I thought someone had taken you away. You never run away from me again, you understand?” Sakano scolded. Mia looked ashamed of herself and hugged her father back. “I’m sorry daddy”
The producer finally looked up and smiled “K-San! Thank you so much for finding her. I was so worried when I turned round and noticed she was gone” Sakano stood up and sat Mia on his shoulders. “Lets go home Mia, it’s time for dinner and then you have homework to do. Thanks again K-San, see you at the office”
K watched as Sakano turned around and headed towards the park exit with his daughter. “See you at the office” he murmured. K felt a sudden wave of guilt wash over his body, he had no idea that Sakano had a daughter, or that he had a wife who had died. He had simply never bothered to make the effort to get to know the man, which was terrible since he had been working with him for nearly 3 years now. Sakano looked so happy with Mia, the total opposite from the man he saw at work. His features were relaxed and he was smiling brightly. He looked extremely handsome.
“Sakano-San!” K hollered, jogging after the man. Sakano stopped and turned round to face him, K could feel a small blush rise in his cheeks. Sakano looked really cute when he smiled. “Ummm, would you like to go get some coffee? We can chat for a bit yaknow…Get some ice-cream for the kids too”
Sakanos smile brightened and K felt the blush on his cheeks deepen. “I would love to K-San. I know this great place just down the street”
