Midnight
Summary: Business or pleasure? It's the age-old question.
Disclaimer: I don't own Yami no Matsuei. Nope. Which will probably explain why I'm still short on cash. Y_Y
A note: Nope! Still no idea where I'm going! =D
He looks too angelic when he's sleeping, Muraki mused. Indeed. Too fair. And I'm the selfish one to have taken this beauty twice. A lock of chocolate was combed from concealed amethyst eyes.
If anything, Muraki was acting like a curious schoolgirl; half-dressed, laying out on the floor to admire his beloved in his slumber. He had a half-grin, and a glimmer in his eye.
There's nothing stopping me, my love. But there is something stopping you...
A sudden deterioration in his confident smile.
Hisoka.
Tsuzuki stirred, though only just. His arm draped loosely over his chest and he took in a heavy breath. The doctor could only watch in silence and content as his beautiful purple eyes were once again revealed to him and he could savor in the aftermath of their actions. It had only been an hour since then; Tsuzuki was far more worn out than himself. Muraki had taken it upon himself to lull him into a soft sleep, and there he had stayed for an hour. Shirtless, sprawled out... on the floor. How uncharacteristic.
"Welcome back to the world, my prince."
The shinigami looked over and gave a tired, sheepish smile. With a yawn and a stretch, he managed to sit up. "How long was I out?"
"Not long," Muraki commented, remaining where he was to watch him from the floor. "It's just past midnight."
Tsuzuki nodded, though as it snuck up on him, he nearly yelped. "Midnight?! Damn..."
The doctor's pallid lips offered the faintest of smiles. Tragedy lingered behind it. "He'll be looking for you, won't he?"
"Maybe..." Tsuzuki sighed.
Sitting up slowly, Muraki reached over to cradle a proud jaw with his pale fingers. "I won't keep you longer than need be. Go if you need to."
Another sigh from the shinigami. He didn't want to go, but the truth of it was that Hisoka would be looking for him around now, if not sooner.
You realize that if you're gone more than two hours, I'll head out to back you up.
That's really not necessary, Hisoka...
It's no trouble. It's what partners do. And let's face it, give it one hour and you'll be in over your head.
Tsuzuki almost scoffed. You have no idea...
"I... I know I should," he started while he started searching around, patting the ground in the process.
Muraki held out his arm, a pair of black slacks slung over his wrist. "Here."
"Thanks." Tsuzuki felt a light blush spreading over his features while he took his clothing and began to dress. "But..." He shook his head. "I don't know, I just have this feeling."
"A feeling?" Muraki sounded as if he had no clue what the latter meant.
"Yeah. It's weird, but sometimes I just.." Tsuzuki paused, searching for the right words. He came up empty. "I don't know. I just feel like it's a bad idea to."
Muraki sighed. I wish I could tell you my plans for this evening... Leaning over, he feathered a tender kiss to Tsuzuki's cheek. "Listen to me. It's better that you keep the boy sated in the knowledge that you haven't seen me since the other night. It's too risky for us if he knows you've even laid eyes on me."
"Well, I've done a little more than that," Tsuzuki murmured playfully, earning a hearty chuckle from the doctor.
"Mm. Indeed."
"Will I see you again?" The question had jumped out of Tsuzuki's mouth before he could catch it.
The doctor held his breath for a moment or two. The boat was planning on docking in a few days, but he had other intentions. He cracked his trademark grin while his arm slithered 'round the shinigami's slender sides. "I should certainly hope so. I'd die to have your company again."
The brunette pulled on his shirt. He couldn't help but smirk. Company, indeed... "Then meet me later on."
"Where?"
"Anywhere." He tugged on his jacket.
"You know my room number. Call me once the coast is clear."
"Alright-"
Another second and Muraki had pulled Tsuzuki into his embrace, their lips softly meshed for the better part of a few moments. Bright, platinum eyes clashed beautifully with purple ones as they pulled away and a tenderness came over Muraki's icy tone, "I love you."
Before the shinigami had a chance to comprehend, much less respond, Muraki pulled him to his feet. "Until we meet again, Tsuzuki."
The least Tsuzuki could do was nod, before he leaned over, stealing another peck of the mad doctor's lips. After that, he was out the door and back into the lion's den they called a casino.
Muraki watched him go through a crack in the curtains with a heavy heart. The past two days had been nothing but bliss; nothing but him and Tsuzuki. But now, he was back to his old tricks.
"My dear... dear Tsuzuki..." he breathed his name in a hollow whisper while he shut the drapes once more. "I can only hope you can forgive me..."
