Chapter 6 -- Waking Up
Zoicite’s POV
Pain. Darkness. Tears. My heart is dying, but is kept alive by two strong energies. One is close to me, the other is somewhat far away. I’m starting to come around to consciousness, and even the dim light is too bright for my eyes. I’m in someone’s arms, I realize just before I opened my eyes. Of course, my beloved wouldn’t leave me alone in the state that I’m in. He’s playing with my hair as he realizes that I’m waking up.
“Kunzite?” I said tentatively. When I opened my eyes, I couldn’t focus them for a few seconds, or else I would’ve seen someone else’s equally strong hands holding me and rubbing my shoulder.
“No, My King, it’s Endymion,” I heard him whisper in my ear. It sounded distant to me, but I knew exactly who it was as soon as he said the first word.
“Hi…” I said with a smile as I adjusted my position to look up at his face. Then, as suddenly as I looked up at him and saw the sad smile on his face, the memories came flooding back to me. My father and brother were dead, and I was now the king of Yrucrem, or I soon would be when I was officially crowned. “How long have I been out?”
“All night,” he said. “It’s just before dawn now. Kunzite-sama went to help Her Majesty, your mother, and told me to stay here with you, even going so far as to suggest that I hold you while you sleep.” Had it been anyone else, I wouldn’t have believed them, but I trust Endymion implicitly, and it sounded like something Kunzite would do. “Are you feeling any better, Majesty?”
“Yes, a bit, but please stop calling me that while we’re in private?” I said. He chuckled, hugging me tightly again.
“You must be feeling better to be as feisty as you are,” he said, and I smiled back at him. When I turned back around, he surprised me by nipping my ear with his teeth, causing me to first snap my eyes open, then to let them drift shut as I moaned at the sensation. “That was for scaring us… Well, me at least. I can’t say what Kunzite-sama is going to do in ‘punishment’ of you.”
“That’s a bit bold of you,” I said, rolling over in his arms to lay on top of his chest. “If anything, perhaps I should punish you for trying to deceive me.”
“You mean that letter?”
“You said that it was from someone else, but both Kunzite and I could read your thoughts,” I said. His eyes widened, and he swallowed nervously. “Perhaps I should punish you by driving you mad…” I trailed off, moving my hips in a way that our pelvises met in a wonderful fiction, and he moaned. “I can drive you to the edge, then deny you released for as long as I want.”
“If I may say so, Zoi, that sounds divine,” he said. “I never would’ve expected such wonderful punishment.”
“So, the prince is into dominance and submission, is he?” I said, and he grinned back at me. “Then I will take that challenge.” I moved my arms, ripping out of his embrace and grabbing his wrists. Before he knew what I was doing, I had bound his hands to the headboard with bonds that I had cloaked so that it looked like he was just holding his arms against the wood of the headboard, but he couldn’t move.
“You were prepared for this, weren’t you?” he laughed when he realized what I had done. I kissed him roughly in response, and by the time I let up, he was gasping for breath, and his cheeks were hot and flushed. “Zoi-kun…” What I didn’t realize was that he could see behind me, and that someone had entered the room and was now watching us.
“Zoicite, my love, what are you doing?” My head shot up, and I gasped as I realized that Kunzite was there, and he didn’t look pleased.
“Majesty, it wasn’t his doing,” Endymion said before I could speak, and I saw Kunzite’s gaze shift to the man below me. “I was... He woke up, and I may have done a few things I shouldn’t have, and he was punishing me.” He walked over to us, sitting on the bed and putting his hand on Endymion’s throat. I was afraid that he would try to choke him, but Endymion submitted to Kunzite’s touch like putty, looking at him with half-lidded eyes. “My Lord…”
“What exactly did you do to him, Endymion?” he asked.
“I was biting his ear, like…” He didn’t get a chance to finish his sentence because Kunzite’s grip tightened just a bit so that he couldn’t speak.
“Not another word,” he warned. I frowned, realizing that the young prince had been about to say something that it was obvious that Kunzite didn’t want me to hear.
“Are you hiding something from me, Kunzite?” I said, becoming somewhat angry when he remained silent. “Did the two of you once have a relationship or something?”
“Not like you and I,” Kunzite said, letting go of Endymion’s throat and turning toward me. “Endymion was my student at one point, yes, but it never evolved into anything like what you and I have, my love.”
“Did you want it to?” I snapped.
“Yes,” Endymion breathed.
“No,” Kunzite said at almost exactly the same moment.
“What were you going to say before Kunzite interrupted you, Endymion?” I asked, giving Kunzite a warning glance that told him not to try to stop him.
“Sometimes Kunzite would bite my ear lightly like that in punishment when I would do something wrong,” he said. “May I demonstrate what I mean?” I nodded, releasing his hands from the bonds, and we both stood up. “I would miss-step in an attack, giving him the opportunity to get behind me.” Using his hand as his weapon, he held the edge of his fingers along my neck, and used his other hand to hold my upper arm. “As he would bite my ear, he would say something like ‘This pain is nothing compared to the pain that your enemy will give you if you make that kind of mistake in battle.’ He would bite the top of my ear, sucking on it gently, before releasing me and acting as though it had meant nothing to him.” Turning my head, I made eye contact with him, shuddering at the embrace he currently had me in. “Just give me the word, Zoi-kun, and I’ll demonstrate what I felt.”
“Please,” I said, and his hand wrapped around my neck as he nipped at my ear again. The feeling of his teeth grazing my ear, and his fingertips flitting across the skin of my neck, was intoxicating, and I moaned lightly.
“Zoicite, I must advise against this,” Kunzite said, trying not to sound jealous. “I told your mother that I would have you come see her as soon as you woke up.” I groaned, rolling my eyes at him, but I knew that he was right. Mother needed my support right now, much more than I needed sexual gratification. “I’m sorry, Darling, but you know that this is important, and Her Majesty needs you.”
“Yes, I know,” I sighed. “Thank you for giving me your magic to calm me down, as well as a big reality check to get me back on my feet, Kun-kun.” I turned around in Endymion’s embrace and kissed his nose. “Thank you for being honest with me, both of you. I need that if I am to trust you with my safety.” I saw Kunzite smile at this, and I knew he understood what I meant, and that he wasn’t angry at me for the bit of flirting I had done with Endymion. “The three of us have a bit of talking to do together, but it will have to wait for now. Do you think this evening would be a possibility?”
“I look forward to it,” Endymion said. I kissed his lips once more before pulling out of his embrace.
“Come, now. We must go and find out what mother needs, and give her our support.”
