Two's Company

Sorry this chapter took so long to come up! Jeff didn't feel up to continuing for awhile. Chapters may be pretty slow in coming compared to how fast they originally got up. Well, on with the story! Jeff, as always, plays Kyo, and I played... everyone else that appeared in this chapter XD Which means Yuki, Shigure, Hatori, Tohru, and a random nurse. I got the idea for this chapter from one of the chapters in yunakitty's Harvest Moon story Brokeback Island. It's a wonderful story and I recommend it to all Harvest Moon yaoi fans ^.^ I even made a direct reference to it during Kyo's conversation with the nurse >w<

Yuki groaned as his eyes fluttered open. It was still pitch black in the room, and he wasn't feeling so well... Kyo rolled over and opened his eyes sleepily.

"What is it Yuki?"

"I don't feel so good..."the rat groaned.

"What hurts Yuki?"

"My stomach... feels like I'm going to..."the rat suddenly went wde-eyed, quickly jumping from the bed and rushing toward the bathroom, not caring that he wasn't wearing any clothes. Kyo sat up quickly, worried about his lover. Yuki ran into the bathroom, kneeling next to the toilet and emptying his stomach into it. He groaned, tears welling in his eyes. Kyo got up outta bed and walked after the boy. He entered the bathroom and sat next to his lover and rubbed his back slowly.

"What do you think caused this Yuki?"

"I don't know..."Yuki whined, clinging to the rim of the toilet.

Kyo frowned.

"I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault. C-could you ask Shigure to call Hatori...?"

"Yeah." Kyo got up and headed to shigure's room. He ripped thedoor open and yelled for shigure to get up and call Hatori. Twenty minutes later Hatori was in Yuki's room inspecting the rat. The boy was dehydrated and pale, hardly conscious. Hatori turned to Kyo.

"Has he eaten anything strange in the last 24 hours?"

"What the hell ya askin me for?! I don't watch him eat!"

Hatori paushed, trying to find a way to breach the next subject delicately.

"Shigure has informed me of your.. relationship."

Kyo glared fuirously at Hatori and then turned his sights on Shigure.

"Who else did you tell about this?!?!?!"

"Just Ha'ri, I swear!"Shigure defended.

"And why the hell did you even tell him?!?!"

"You know I tell Ha'ri everything, Kyo-kyon!"

"Kyo."Hatori interrupted. "Don't rip my head off for asking this but... does Yuki perform anilingus on you?"

"Well you!" Kyo stopped mid sentence. "Does he perform what on me?!"

Hatori sighed and repeated, "Anilingus."

"And what the hell is that?!?!"

"Oral stimulation of the anus."

"He means does Yuki-kun lick your ass, Kyo-kyon!"Shigure said cheerily.

"Well why the hell didn't he just say that?!" Kyo blushed as he thought about it. "Yeah... but what's that gotta do with him getting sick?"

"I think Yuki has a gastrointestinal illness that could be caused by E coli. It can come from poorly prepared food, from improper handwashing while caring for infants, or from anal to oral contact. I'm just trying to figure out exactly what is wrong with him, so that I can treat him."

"So are you trying to say it's my fault Yuki's sick?"

"It's possible."Hatori said with no hint of emotion.

Kyo kinda slumped. "Oh...i didn't know that this could happen just from 2 people loving each other..."

"Kyo-kyon, it's not your fault."Shigure assured him, giving Hatori a displeased look. Kyo just walked over and sat next to Yuki and stroked his face.

"I'm sorry Yuki."

Yuki groaned softly, unconsciously leaning into the touch.

Kyo sat there for a moment then looked at Hatori.

"Can you fix him?" Hatori nodded.

"But he's very dehydrated. It would be best to bring him to the hospital."

Kyo nodded and scooped the boy up into his arms.

"Lead the way."

Hatori led the way out to his car, Yuki clinging unconsciosly to the cat. Kyo waited at the rear passenger door with the rat clinging to him.

"Open the door already!"

Shigure opened the door before getting into the front passenger seat. Kyo manuvered into the car with the boy in his arms without a word to either of the other males. Yuki whimpered, his eyes fluttering open.

"Kyo...?"

Kyo looked down at the weak boy he was holding so lightly.

"Yes yuki?"

"Where're we going...?"

"To the hospital so Hatori can see what's wrpng with you and fix you."

"I hate hospitals..."the rat grumbled.

Kyo stroked the rats face. "I know, but it's the best way to get you better."

Yuki sighed. "Alright..."

Kyo smiled softly. "Thank you."

Yuki smiled weakly, reaching a hand up to play idly with the cat's hair. kyo smiled, and grabbed the rats hand and held it tight. Shigure glanced at the two of them through the rearview mirror, smiling to himself. Kyo caught the dog looking at him.

"What Shigure?!"

Shigure chuckled.

"You two are just so cute!"

Kyo glared at the dog the gave his attention back to his love.

"Here we are."Hatori announced as he pulled up to the hospital.

"Finally." kyo mumbled.

Hatori got the rat situated in a room and hooked to an IV. Kyo sat next to the rat and stroked his hand.

"I'm sorry to be so much trouble, Kyo."Yuki murmured.

Kyo chuckled lightly. "You're not any trouble. I'm just trying to keep you safe."

Yuki blushed. "Thank you..."

Kyo kissed his forehead. "You're welcome."

An elderly nurse enterred the room. "Oh, how sweet."

Kyo blushed slightly. "Thanks ma'am. Please look after him. i need to go talk to Hatori."

Yuki frowned, clinging to Kyo's hand. Kyo stroked the boys face.

"I'll be right back. I promise."

Yuki hesitantly released the redhead's hand.

"Alright..."

Kyo leaned over and kissed him gently.

"Be good."

"No promises."Yuki teased with a tiny smile.

Kyo ruffled the rats hair and walked out of the and whispered to the nurse,

"take good care of him."

"Of course."the old woman smiled kindly.

Kyo continued down the hallway, drifting off into thought.

"Kyo-kun!"Tohru, who had just arrived at the hospital moments before, rushed over to the cat. "Is Yuki-kun alright?!"

Kyo snapped out of his thoughts and looked blankly at the girl.

"What?"

"Is Yuki-kun alright?"the girl repeated worriedly.

"Oh. Yeah. How'd you find out? Did that damn dog tell you?"

She nodded. "He called me at Hana-chan's. He said Yuki-kun was sick, but he didn't say what was wrong with him..."

"That all he really said?"

"Yes. He said, 'It's not my place to tell you what happened'. What did he mean?"

Kyo sighed. "That dog... Yuki got sick...because....we've been....having sexual....relations...."

The girl's eyes widened in shock.

"You mean... you guys are... gay?"she asked in disbelief.

Kyo took a step back. "Yes..."

"I see..."she murmured with a soft smile, then giggled softly. "So Uo-chan was right!"

Kyo looked at her with wide eyes. "Huh?"

"Well, you two have been acting different than normal the past few weeks. I mentioned it to Uo-chan and Hana-chan, and Uo-chan said you two were probably... involved. I didn't believe her but, I guess she was right."

"I see." Kyo looked down. "Damn Yankee."

"But wait... how could that make Yuki-kun sick?"

Kyo blushed. "Don't worry about that part."

"Oh... okay. Were you going to see Hatori-san or something?"

"Yeah."

"Alright. I'll go look after Yuki-kun."

Kyo smiled. "Thanks Tohru."

"No problem!"the girl smiled brightly and headed off to the rat's room.

Kyo smiled and then started back on his quest. Hatori emerged from the hospital pharmacy, swiping a hand back through his hair. Kyo nearly ran into the bastard dragon.

"About time i found you."

"What is it, Kyo?"the dragon said coolly.

"Any word on what's going on with Yuki?"

The dragon frowned. "It's possible... that his appendix may have ruptured..."

"What?!" Kyo went pale at the thought. "What could've caused that? I know it wasn't E Coli!"

"Directly, no. But the resulting gastrointestinal illness may have. At this point, it's only a possibility. He shouldn't eat or drink anything, in case he needs to go into surgery."

"Then what the hell am i supposed to do?! Lie?! Say everything's gonna be ok?"

"For now it's best not to worry him until we know for sure. No need to cause additional stress."

Kyo just slouched. "I'm gonna go sit with him. When are you gonna come do you doctor thing?"

"We're finishing with the testing, Kyo."

"Ok." Kyo turned and headed back to Yuki's room.

Yuki was frowning like a child who'd just been forced to take medicine he didn't like, Tohru trying it cheer him up and the nurse assuring him that something that had occurred had been necesarry. Kyo walked in on the scene and looked from Yuki to Tohru to the nurse.

"What's wrong?"

"I had to give him a suppository."the nurse explained.

Kyo chuckled lightly.

"Don't be a whimp Yuki." He walked over and stood next to the boy with Tohru.

"I am not a wimp. You're just a meanie..."the rat said childishly.

Kyo just ruffled the rats hair and looked at the nurse. "Is that all you needed to do?"

"Well..."the nurse hesitated. "Souma-sensei has him on Demerol..."

"On what?"

"Demerol. It should help the symptoms, but some people don't react to it well."

"What do you mean?"

"Well we had one girl last week who punched her father in the stomach."

"So they turn violent?"

"Some people do. It effects everyone differently. We've also had a young man who lost any inhibition in his words. Embarassed his lover quite a bit."she chuckled.

"Lost his what?" Kyo hated it when people used big words.

"Well, he got upset when his doctor put him in a room in pediatrics and was yelling that he wasn't a child. Then he turned to his lover and yelled, 'Tell them how we have sex!' It was quite amusing."

Kyo blushed lightly. "Why does he still give it out if it has that kind of side effects?"

"Well, not everyone reacts negatively. Almost all medication has some sort of side effect, anyway."

"But those are some rather rough side effects." Kyo just shrugged and grabbed his lovers hand.

"Kyo... I wanna go home..."Yuki whined.

He looked down at the boy. "I know, but we need to stay here so Hatori can fix you."

"I don't wanna..."he pouted, tugging on the redhead's hand. Kyo leaned down and kissed him gently.

"I know, but you need to get better." He thought for a moment. "We're staying."

Yuki frowned again, tangling his free hand in the cat's hair to hold him to him as he kissed him. Kyo pulled up.

"So no more whining."

"I'll stop whining if you'll stop pulling away from me..."the rat whined, causing Tohru to giggle. Kyo looked at him with a small smile.

"I highly doubt that." Kyo leaned down and kissed him gently. Yuki wrapped his arms firmly around the cat's neck, not allowing him to get away again. Kyo smiled and kissed a little rougher. Yuki let out a little moan, eagerly returning the kiss. Kyo stopped.

"Now you need to stop getting so excited before you hurt yourself."

"I won't hurt myself."the rat protested, reaching a hand down and groping between the cat's legs. Kyo let out a small moan. He looked at Yuki hard.

"I'm serious."

"So am I."Yuki said, caressing him through his jeans, completely oblivious to Tohru and the nurse both in the room. Kyo looked at the 2 ladies in the room.

"It would seem the medicine's kicked in."

"It would seem so."the nurse chuckled before turning to Tohru. "Perhaps we should leave them alone, dear."

"O-okay."the onigiri stuttered.

Kyo kissed the rat hard after hearing the door shut. Yuki groaned, tugging impatiently at the cat's shirt. Kyo stood and removed his shirt and then kissed the boy passionately. Yuki eagerly returned the kiss, running his hands along the other's chest and nipping at the cat's lower lip. Kyo moved the covers aside and strattled the rat. Yuki groaned, instantly grinding his hips up against the cat's. Kyo kissed the rat eagerly, moving hips hips against the boys.

"Kyo..."Yuki murmured, undoing the cat's pants.

Kyo smiled. "Yes?"

"I'm here to examine Yuki."the doctor pointed out matter-of-factly. "And... some of our other patients have been complaining about noise."

Yuki's face turned bright red. Had he been that loud...?

"Then hop to it Hatori." Kyo ordered. "And the other patients can gt over it. I gave Yuki what he wanted."

Hatori rolled his eyes, examining the frail patient thoroughly.

"How's he look?"

Hatori wrote out a prescription and handed it to the rat. "Yuki, you'll need to take this medicine every eight hours, and stick to to foods that are easy on your stomach until you've fully recovered."the doctor than turned to the cat pointedly. "It's possible that he could've gotten it from something he ate, but to be safe you should refrain from... risky behavior, unless you're in the shower." With that, the doctor left. Yuki blinked.

"What did he mean by 'risky behavior'?"

Kyo glared after the doctor. "He meant no ass rimming unless we're in the shower, clean."

Yuki's eyes grew wide. "Is that why I got sick?!"

Kyo frowned. "It's possible..."

"And you knew that?!"

"I was told not to tell you..."

"That's not what I'm worried about! You knew and you still-!? What if you get sick now, too?!"the rat looked horrified at the thought. Kyo smiled softly.

"Because i wanted to give you what you wanted." He walked over and stroked the boy's face. "I'll be ok."

"B-but if you get sick because of me..."the rat looked close to tears.

Kyo kissed him softly. "I'll be fine."

Yuki nodded silently, wiping his eyes. Kyo layed next to him and cuddled up to him. Yuki smiled lightly, gently scratching the spot where the cat's ears would be if he were an actual neko. Kyo purred lightly. A light smirk appeared on Yuki's face as he wandered what other ways Kyo's body was the same as a cat's. Kyo nuzzled the rat. Yuki curled up next to the cat, already plotting things to do to him when they got home...

1. A shower scene. Because Hatori said it was okay >w<
2. Yuki gets to see if Kyo's body responds the same way as a cat's. Trust me, I know some things about cat sex most people don't, and I'm sure our genius Yuki does too
3. A hetero side chapter involving Tohru and an undecided male. Personally, I'd be content to do this whole thing straight yaoi, but I promised Jeff we'd have at least one chapter of hetero...
