Unforgiving
Chapter 7: Unforgiving.
Their swords collided, men using their own sword style. In this case to protect there lives. The sound of swords clashing together could be heard all through the damp forest. People who lived near by only shut their windows and closed their stores in order to protect their families and own penniless lives.
Any animal around was smart enough to never cross the path; even the trees and the spirits that roamed in the forest heard the battle, it was a battle for love and war, to the death.
Mugen smirked in admiration as a disturbed Jin pushed his feet farther in the ground, and their swords pursing one another finding ways to unravel the cloth that clothed them. It was a devils battle, beast fighting over the love of a simple woman, a woman too young to know lover herself.
It was difficult for anyone to understand Jin’s pain. He had been alone all his life. After the death of his sensei, and the battles between his own comrades it wasn’t easy for him to even comprehend a word known as love. He thought it could never happen, until now. He was fighting for the woman he loved, the woman of his life who had given him the meaning of trust.
He watched as his thoughts put him back to reality, the battle between loyal friends, Mogen. The friend he hated but yet treasured and consumed as loyal and trustworthy.
Jin jumped back as the two swords forced both the men’s bodies to separate towards opposite directions. There they stood, eyes penetrating and full of anger. Tired hands rested on both their swords as their battle had gone on for what had seemed forever. Legs feeling weak, and hair covered in sweat. Jin’s glasses managed to slip from his face, his eyes blind, only his ears helping him fight. Mugen breathed hard as he tiredly walked forward, his voice shaky, and his body ready to collapse.
“Are you tired yet Jin? Ready to give up?” Mugen smirked.
He wiped the sweat from his upper lip and smiled at Jin with a nonferrous look.
“Don’t act surprised, we promised to kill one another anyway, sooner or later.” Jin whispered softly.
“Surprised? That’s not it at all, its just I can’t believe your actually fighting me because of that wench.” He laughed.
“Don’t call her that, Fuu is honorable. She’s a beautiful woman without compare.” Fussed Jin.
“Ha, you wish. I fucked that bitch three times already. She’s more a whore than an honorable woman.” He laughed.
“Don’t, don’t’ you ever” Jin spoke.
Jin rushed towards Mugen with blistering speed. Jin's sword was moving forward aiming straight for Mugen's chest, and upper body. In confusion Mugen tried to dodge the fierce attack, but instead fell to the ground as the inside of his left arm caught between the crossfire.
Jin smirked as Mugen fell over. His body week form the last attack. He watched as his arm, covered in blood, sent shock waves over his body. It was the first time Mugen had ever felt like giving up. Jin was too strong.
Jin watched as Mugen lifted himself up, his sword fitting into the ground holding his body towards him.
“You bastard, you think I’ll go down so easily.” Mugen laughed.
“No, I didn’t” said Jin.
“Good, cause your going to pay for that,” said Mugen.
With that Mugen strutted himself forward, catching Jin unexpectedly his sword ramming into Jin's chest, only inches away from piercing his heart.
Jin stepped back, unexpectedly gasping for air as he pulled Mugen’s sword from his chest. He laid on the ground as he coughed up traces of blood, and saliva. The pain was unforgivable, probably the worst. Jin watched as Mugen stood up, his eyes blurry, and only the shadow of Mugen was seen before he closed his eyes and collapsed.
Mugen watched as Jin lay on the forest floor, his blood staining the grass around him.
He watched as the samurai that nearly killed him withered underneath his feet. The horrid sight of Jin’s body was harsh and cruel, burning Mugeen’s eye sockets and forcing him to remove Jin form the ground below him and take him back to the hut.
Mugen removed the bits of cloth that surrounded Jin’s chest, and covered it with his own, sustaining him from loosing any more blood. As he walked quickly towards the hit, he stopped as a worried Fuu walked towards him.
“What happened to you, are you guys alright?” she said worriedly.
“Nothing,” Mugen whispered.
“What do you mean nothing? You both are covered in blood.’ She cried.
“Here, take Jin inside, he’s wounded. Cover his injuries with thick cloth and medicine, he’ll be out for a while.” Mugen whispered.
“What about you? You need help Mugen. Let me take care of your wounds.” Fuu insisted.
“Don’t you think you’ve done enough already!” Mugen screamed.
Fuu watched as Mugen walked away into the forest, tears forming on his face. Fuu quickly put Jin softly inside, listening to what Mugen said and following his instructions. She quietly left him inside, before leaving him with the old man.
“Do you think its right to leave him?” he whispered.
“I have to see Mugen,” she answered.
“But your friend here is wounded, I believe you should stay with him.” He insisted.
“You’re right, what was I thinking,” she hesitated.
Fuu watched Jin as lay on the blankets set for him, his closed, his clothes still damp. The old man walked out leaving them alone, and in private.
What have I don’t to you Jin, this is my entire fault, I’m sorry, she cried.
“No, its..its not,” Jin whispered.
“Jin, don’t speak, your going to hurt yourself,” she said shockingly.
“No, you must…you must go see Mugen,” he coughed.
“Why, I love you Jin?” she cried.
“Don’t…. don’t kid yourself. Its alright, I can see it in your eyes. You too are meant to be.” He whispered.
“Now go, go find him, he’s there, waiting.” He whispered.
Fuu nodded, then kissed Jin on the cheek before leaving her friend behind. He was right; she did love him and not Jin. She loved Mugen.
