A Prankful Meeting And Mamoru's Revenge

Disclaimer: I do not own Sailor Moon.

A/N: Nope, I’m not done with this story yet. I’ve got quite a ways to go before I’m done torturing Usagi and Mamoru. Anyway, thanks for all the reviews, and here’s thet cht chapter. Hope you like it, and, as always, please review.

Chapter 8:

Queen Selenity eyed the two across from her curiously. The events earlier had been, well…interesting. Given the fact that Setsuna had forewarned her of the visit, she hadn’t been that surprised when her from the future had shown up. But she had been surprised when she’d seen what her supposedly innocent daughter had done to her future husband.

Tying him up and gagging him, indeed. And, on top of that, she’d wanted to get married!

Selenity mentally shook her head. Her daughter had definitely played a cruel trick on her husband. She had been somewhat shocked by the trickery, but then she’d realized that even though her daughter had never actively shown those traits; she had probably inherited them from all the “training” those fun-loving friends of hers had put her through when she was little. Training. Yeah, right. Training in trickery, not the basic martial arts skills training she had approved. She loved the scouts, but they could be quite an unusual influence. Maybe she should separate her present daughter from them for a while…

Nah…Besides, she could use the amusement. Laughter was definitely a nice change to the stiff formality she had to put up with since she was queen and all. Not that she would tell anybody.

And speaking of amusement…

These two in front of her were cackling together over pictures that she couldn’t quite see, and frankly, she didn’t know if she wanted to. Yet.

She coughed. “Excuse me, you two. Could we get back to the matter at hand?” she asked, taking a small sip of tea.

“Of course, your Majesty,” said Setsuna, setting the pictures on a side table and reaching for a cup of tea.

“Now,” said Selenity, narrowing her gaze upon the other woman, “is it true that you came back here to get a vacation, and ended up helping Usagi get even with her fiancé?”

The woman nodded, snickering a bit as she smoothed out the skirts of her traditional white gown.

Selenity sighed. “Why on earth would you do that? Having a prankster for a daughter is bad enough, but having her future self help her is even worse. Don’t you realize that you’re supposed to be setting an example? A queen is supposed to be dignified, not a trickster that goes around pulling pranks on everyone she meets.”

Neo-Queen Serenity sighed, eyes glazing over as she listened to the lecture. Honestly, no matter how old she was her mother could still lecture her into a coma. She didn’t see what was so wrong with helping her past self.

Getting even with Mamoru wasn’t wrong. In fact, in Crystal Tokyo, it was considered a sport. She shouldn’t be chastised for helping someone with something she excelled in, should she? Well…apparently she should, according to her mother, anyway.

Serenity offered a slight smile, trying to calm her mother down. Even though her mother never raised her voice, she could still be scary when she was lecturing somebody. Namely, her.

“Sorry, Mother, but I can’t help it. Getting even with Mamoru is something I’ve always really enjoyed. Plus, I don’t need to set an example. I did the exact same things my past self did, and I turned out fine. I am dignified when I am supposed to be, and I pull pranks on my own time. I mean, come on, without a little fun you can seriously get sucked into the formality of being queen.”

Selenity glared. ‘That’s no excuse, young lady. Being a queen means acting like a queen ALL time.ime.”

Serenity rolled her eyes. “Not necessarily, Mother,” she said, smiling as she did so. “I know that you’ve pulled a few pranks in your day, and you turned out to be a great queen.”

Selenity blushed slightly. Well, it was trued that sad pad pulled a few when she was younger, but she had stopped after her husband left.

“Yes, but I stopped a long time ago. I learned how to behave, as well as what it took to run a kingdom. There’s no time for fun when you have to worry about the people, the economy, and intergalactic politics,” she said, keeping her gaze on her daughter from the future as she did so.

“I know it’s hard to run a kingdom, Mother, because I’ve been doing it. I also know that there’s always time for fun, you just have to grab the opportunity when it comes. Plus, you have to relax sometime,” said Serenity, taking a sip of tea.

“She speaks the truth, your Majesty. You need to have a little fun once in a while. For example, didn’t you play a small trick the other day?” asked Setsuna.

Selenity’s eyes widened. “ I did no such th-” she started to say, but trailed off when she saw Setsuna’s knowing gaze. “Well, alright, I did, but it was only a small one! And small ones aren’t considered to be pranks,” she declared, trying to hide the blush that had blossomed with the knowledge that she had been caught.

“I’m talking about larger pranks, like tying up your fiancé and going back in time to pull a prank AND get married to him! Those are the ones you shouldn’t be doing!”

Serenity smiled. “Big or small, pranks are pranks. I had thought that you weren’t having any fun, but it seems that you are. Hmm…Instead of teaching you how to have fun again, it looks like I’ll have to teach you how to pull big pranks. The bigger the better. What do you think, Setsuna?”

Setsuna smiled wickedly, looking at her temporary counterpart. Serenity may have come back to the past to get away from Mamoru and her other prank-worthy targets, but it seemed she could only quell her urge to prank for a short time. She would definitely feel sorry for whoever was in the path he mhe mother-daughter prank team. With Serenity as the teacher, the pranks would be vicious.

Shaking herself out of her thoughts, Setsuna decided to answer, since after all, both women were waiting. “Yes, I think so. And for her first lesson we should show her the results of a great prank,” she said, nodding toward the nearby pictures.

Serenity smirked. “Yes, I think that will work. I think you’ll really enjoy this, Mother,” she said, picking the photos up and laying tout, out, despite her mother’s protests.

“Trust me, Mother. You don’t want to miss this,” she said, and with that she began showing Selenity the photos, starting her down the path of pranking. Again.

Meanwhile…

Usagi smiled at her husband as they walked slowly down the street. It had been a few hours since the marriage, and it had taken her that long to get him to calm down. She’d pleaded, she’d cried, and, finally, after promising to stop possessing him, he had forgiven her.

“I can’t believe you went to all that trouble just to get even AND set a date,” Mamoru said, glancing at his wife who was now dressed in jeans and a t-shirt.

Usagi shrugged. “Well, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do.”

He rolled his eyes. “That’s a huge cliché. You know that right?”

Usagi smilweetweetly. “Of course I do, but it fits doesn’t it?”

“Yeah, it does. By the way, are you sure that you’re not going to possess me again?” he asked suspiciously, gazing into the crystal blue eyes that currently looked innocent. He mentally snorted. He wondered how long that’d last.

“Yeah. I only did it to have some fun. I promise I won’t do it again. But, are you sure you’re going to stop being a model?”

Mamoru pondered that for a second. “I don’t know. I was pretty good at it, but I think that I should be a teacher instead.”

Usagi blinked, surprised at that. “I thought you were going to be a doctor.”

“I was, but I think that it would be better to teach kids to be better in math than you are.”

“Hey!” exclaimed Usagi. “I’m not that bad.”

“So says the person who once got a thirty on a test,” he intoned, smirking at her in a way that made her want to smack him.

“I was fourteen! Besides, I’ve changed,” she said, ignoring the disbelieving snort that came from her husband. “I have! And if you’re going to teach them that, you might as well teach them to be less arrogant than you are!” she snapped, turning her head away from him in anger.

“I’m not that arrogant!” he said, glaring at her.

“Yes, you are, Mr. I’m-the-prince-of-earth!”

He thought that over. “Well, maybe I am,” he said, ignoring Usagi’s shout of ‘Thank you!’ “But I’m entitled to it.”UsagUsagi rolled her eyes, and turned back towards him. “Yeah, whatever.”

They continued to walk, each satisfied that they had made their point. As to where they were walking to, well…They had decided to tell the other scouts about the wedding, but knowing how angry the others would be, they had decided to take their time about it. So, with knowledge of what would happen once they reached the temple, they ambled slowly down the street.

Well, they did until Usagi stopped, sniffing the air as if she were a hound.

Mamoru raised an eyebrow. “What are you doing?” he asked, curious despite himself.

“I smell something really good,” Usagi said, beginning to head in the direction of the smell. “Can we go get something to eat?”

Mamoru rolled his eyes. “You just ate.”

“I know, but I’m hungry again. Can we go eat, please?” she asked, in a whiny sort of voice.

“No,” he said, his voice stern.

“Please,” she begged.

“No.”

“Please?”

“No.”

“Please?”

“Alright,” he said, and then blinked. Wait a minute, why had he said yes? Was she…

“Usagi! Stop that!” he yelled.

“Stop what?” she asked, in that innocent sort of voice that was definitely NOT going to fool him.

“Stop possessing me!”

Usagi sighed. “Alright.” There was a few seconds of silence as they resumed walking down the street, but it was broken when…

“Can we go?”

“No!”

She sighed, yet again, and wondered if anyone would care that she was goto sto starve to death.

Probably not.

Forty-five Minutes Later…

“Well,” Mamoru sighed. “We’re here.”

“Can’t we just turn around and come back tomorrow?” Usagi whined, really wanting to avoid this moment.

“No,” said Mamoru. “Besides, I have to get my revenge don’t I?” he asked, yawning with feigned boredom.

Usagi looked at him in horror. “You wouldn’t!?”

Mamoru smiled wickedly. “Yes, I would,” and then rang the doorbell, which, thankfully, masked Usagi’s groan of despair.

Hey, he had to get even sometime, and this seemed like the perfect moment.

Exactly One Minute Later…

Rei opened the door, swathed in yards of white fabric. The plans had moved on from simple designs and lists to actually making the wedding dress. She could proudly say that they were almost done. They just had to finish attaching the underskirts and the sleeves. Shows what a bunch of wedding-happy scouts could do when they all get together to plan their friend’s wedding.

She blinked, wedding thoughts still running through her mind, as she tried to focus on exactly who was standing in front of her. Finally, it registered.

Rei beamed in pleasure, actually causing both Mamoru and Usagi to take a step back. “Hi, glad you guys came! I really need your measurements,” she said to Usagi as she grabbed her arm. “We have tons to do, and we can’t really finish until we get you measured.”

Usagi silently pleaded with Mamoru as she was dragged inside and promptly crushed by the other girls as they chattered about the designs and the food. But, unluckily, he only smirked and waited for them to calm down.

Which took quite a while.

For the next two hours Usagi was forced to suffer the wedding chatter of the girls, while Mamoru stood by and smirked. Just smirked. And she really wanted to smack him for that.

Finally, everyone settled down, and amidst the occasional comment about her finished wedding dress, Mamoru cleared his throat. “Hey, everyone? Can we put a lid on the chatter please? Usagi has an ancemecement she wishes me to make.”

All the scouts glared, including Usagi, but settled down anyway, muttering profane comments under their breath as they did so.

“Now, before I tell you anything I want you to know that it was all Usagi’s idea,” he said, ignoring Usagi’s glare. He took a deep breath. “Usagi and I got married a few hours ago.”

Usagi winced at the silence coming from the scouts. Not good. You could probably hear a pin drop, the room was so quiet. Which meant only one thing; she was about to be slaughtered.

“WHAT!!?” chorused all of the scouts.

Usagi gulped. Not good. She tried to edge towards the exit, but was stopped when every girl in the room turned towards her, glaring so hard they looked possessed.

Not good.

She looked at every face slowly, and then, making a quick decision, she picked up her skirts and raced for the door. Of course, she was caught before she got anywhere near the door, and was dragged into a group of very angry senshi. She tried to wriggle out of their grasp, but they held on firmly, and, ignoring her fearful shriek, they began to tear into her with a vengeance.

And Mamoru just stood there; smirking.

Several Hours Later…

Ushicchiccuped slightly, still upset from how much yelling the others had done. Currently, they were all sitting on the opposite couch listening to Rei finish up the lecturing session.

“So, you agree that it was wrong for you to go off and get married without telling us?” Rei asked, hands on her hips.

“Yes,” Usagi said, sniffling.

“And you agree that you will have another wedding and let us plan everything?” she asked, her eyes narrowed.

“Yes,” said Usagi, thinking of how badly Mamoru was going to suffer when she got even with him for this. It wasn’t fair. He had blamed everything on her! Even though it was her fault, but still…She was going to get him for this. He was going to wish he’d never been born.

Rei smiled, bringing Usagi out of her vengeful thoughts and making her nearly pass out with relief. “Good! Since you agree, let’s finish what we were doing earlier! I need to go over the food lists with you, as well as the bridesmaid dresses! As for the rest of you, get back to work!” she snapped, making everyone hurry back to whatever tasks they had been doing before Usagi and Mamoru arrived.

And without letting another second pass, she dragged Usagi by the arm and led her toward the kitchen.

Rei grinned, ignoring Usagi’s attempts to get awas sas she thought about how beautiful everything was going to be. This wedding was going to be perfect.

And if Usagi messed it up it was her funeral.

Literally.
