8: Heroics

Chapter 8
8: Heroics

I’m sorry it took me so long to update!

New disclaimers: I own Ryuma, Ramsey, Kazuhou, and Ms. Kujou! The other characters…nope! XD

-3-3-3-3-

Kazuma yelped loudly as Ryuhou sat on the young man’s back and bent his leg over his shoulder, acting as if it was an everyday thing. “Are you going to listen to me and stop trying to seduce me?” Ryuhou asked evenly.

The red haired alter whimpered pathetically and mumbled into the carpet. “Yesh…I’ll behafe.”

“What was that?” Ryuhou grinned as he twisted Kazuma’s leg slightly.

Kazuma lifted his head and cried out. “I’ll behave!”

“Good boy.” Ryuhou stood up from the native alter’s back and sat down on the sofa farthest from Kazuma.

“Damn!” Kazuma groaned as he sat back up and rubbed his abused leg. “You’re mean, you know that?” He crawled over to the other couch and sat down in front of it, spreading his legs out underneath the coffee table. “What’s more important than us having sex?”

Ryuhou’s left eyebrow twitched irritably as he explained why. “There’s more to a relationship than sex, you idiot!” He cleared his throat before relaxing and beginning their conversation about other matters. He peered over his shoulder at the kitchen and frowned. “Kanami, would you come in here please?”

Kanami peeked out from around the corner with a smile. “Okay. Just give me a minute. I have to put up this plate.” She quickly finished and ambled into the main room, sitting beside Kazuma with her hands folded in her lap. “What is it, Ryuhou?”

“I need to speak to you both about Ryuma.” Ryuhou took a deep breath and leaned forward, crossing his arms over his knees. “I believe that Ryuma is Kazuma’s and my son.” He waited a moment to hear any arguments, which, surprisingly, there was none. He looked up hesitantly, only to get an eyeful of a gawking native alter and a girl who was smiling as if she knew about the whole world. “I’d hate to ask, Kanami, but why are you smiling. I’d expect your expression to be like Kazuma’s.” He took a quick glance at his lover and then back to the young woman.

Kanami giggled. “You’re talking to a physic here, Ryuhou. I knew that way before you or Kazu-kun.”

“So why didn’t you say anything?!” Kazuma exclaimed with aggravation. “I would have at least liked to have known he was my son…a little sooner!” He could have sworn, if Kanami wasn’t a girl, he would have whapped her upside the head. “Has Kimishima taken over that pretty brain of yours or something?”

Kanami scolded the red haired alter. “No, Kazu-kun! I just wanted to see if you or Ryuhou could figure it out by yourselves. Apparently, Ryuhou was faster to admit it. However, you noticed it before him, Kazu-kun. You just didn’t want to say anything before Ryuhou did.”

Kazuma flushed with frustration. “Oh bite me!” He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned forward in a sulk. “So what if I noticed it first and thought the same thing as Ryuhou? It’s kind of strange, don’t you think?”

Kanami shook her head. “Not really. Don’t you remember Elian? He was cloned from Martin Zigmar’s cells.”

“That’s right.” Ryuhou recollected. “HOLY DID have something to do with this then. Damn them! Kanami, tell me if I’m wrong. HOLY created Ryuma because they wanted someone stronger to destroy us and that incident back at the wall was just a show.”

Kanami nodded. “Part of that is right. I don’t know much more about the rest, or how it’ll turn out in the end. However, the attack from HOLY wasn’t on purpose. Ryuma actually wanted to escape from there. He was in so much pain before you found him.”

Kazuma and Ryuhou exchanged glances. They smiled sheepishly and broke their eye contact to stare at something inanimate in the room. “We’re parents?” Kazuma asked, his tone sounding as if he or Ryuhou were the ones that had given birth to the teen. A warm grip wrapped itself around within him, tightening and slightly choking him up with emotion. Kazuma never thought of becoming a father. He was more of a brotherly figure if anything. “I…can’t believe it.”

The room fell into an uncomfortable silence as the occupants contemplated how to tell Ryuma that Ryuhou and Kazuma were his fathers. The eldest alter opened his mouth to explain the situation when the ground quaked violently with a loud explosion following it from a distance.

“What the hell was that?” Kazuma asked frantically as he stood and fell back onto the floor again. Kanami grabbed his shoulders to keep him steady as another tremor shook the earth, but it wasn’t as fierce as the first. They waited a moment before finally being able to stand up and started toward the front door.

She landed on the marble floor face first, her disheveled hair gracefully enveloping her stunned expression. “What the…” She got to her hands and knees before one of her flunkies came busting in, looking equally stunned. “Ms. Kujou! Are you alright?” He quickly ran to her side and lifted her up back into her chair.

“Yes,” she stated flatly and stared expectantly as the teen. “Well? Did you know what that was?”

The teen shook his head. “No, not as of yet, ma’am. The others are working on it right now. It felt like an earthquake though.”

She frowned deeply. “That was no earthquake.” She rested her chin on the bridge between her index finger and thumb in contemplation. She blinked when something white faded in and out outside her window. “Whatever happened, it was on the other side of the wall.” A loud ring caught her attention immediately. It was the phone on the desk. She grabbed the receiver and spoke. “What is it?”

“Ms. Kujou! The tremor was caused by two alters. One of them is Ryuma.” A man spoke swiftly, being sure not to stall because of the woman’s patience and the fact that she could kill over a phone line with her alter when aggravated. He pulled the earpiece away from his ear in paranoia.

“Good work.” The woman smiled as she hung the phone up without another word. “Interesting twists have taken place.” She looked at the boy standing beside her. “Do you think father would be happy with this?”

He flinched; lifting his arm over his chest in defense as he nervously grinned. Sweat visibly poured down his face. The female alter normally didn’t sound so serene unless she was about to kill someone. “Yes…ma’am. I’m sure he would be very proud.” He reluctantly bowed, ready to feel the ache that she was about to inflict upon his body.

The woman sneered and crossed her leg over her knee. “Yes, he would be.” She reached out toward the teen and ran her fingers gently through his thick, brown hair, feeling the tension heighten his nerves through his scalp. The boy was quite handsome with his bright green eyes. Only she knew the reason why she couldn’t kill the teen. He was a powerful weapon that shouldn’t be tampered with.

The air became thick with tension. He winced when there was shudder on the second floor below him. What had just happened? The smell of death instantly reached his nostrils. ‘My colleagues!’ Kujou unmercifully slaughtered them right under his feet. He trembled fearfully as he held back his tears. Most of those people had been his friends. “Why?” He whispered, his left hand lifting to his chest to tighten around the shirt near his heart. “They…”

“What?” She asked with amusement etching into her tone. “They were your friends? You don’t need any friends, Kazuhou. Like your brother, you’re just a clone built for battle. Nothing more.”

He abruptly straightened himself to stare at the woman horrified. “My…brother?” He asked startled and backed away from the older alter until he was against the wall. “This whole time you raised me to believe I was deserted by my mother. Why?”

“Well, actually you were deserted, Kazuhou. Your mother left you on the streets right after she beard you. She couldn’t stand the thought of rearing an alter child. And I killed her for her insolence.” She started laughing. “I also told Ryuma that he was the only clone that survived any of the experiments. You were just born a month after him, but much stronger. Maybe it’s a good thing he didn’t know about you.”

The teen ground his teeth together with annoyance. “Why? It’s not like he could have done anything.”

“Oh, on the contrary my young alter. If he knew of you, you both would have opened a mind link to each other. I can’t have that happen,” she explained with a smile. “That was one of the defaults of having you two. If one were to be rebellious, he would have certainly tried to persuade the other to take his side.” She noted the young alter’s aura outlining his body and quirked her lips up in hilarity. “Don’t even think about using Dangan on me, Kazuhou. You know very well that I’ll finish you off before that thing even moves a muscle.”

Kazuhou forced himself to relax. He fell to his knees in defeat and murmured, “I hate you.”

“All is fair in love and war my dear alter.” She covered her mouth with the back of her hand as she laughed menacingly.

A/N: Dangan means bullet in Japanese. XD I could have resisted, but I didn’t! Well, isn’t this just great? Another character has worked his way into the fiction. *sighs* The plot keeps getting bigger...so does this headache I’m getting. ;_;

Nanaka: Eep! *hands you a bunch of soda* I don’t want you to hate my fic. XD! I really enjoy having you as a beta reader! You’re just too fun to have around!

Yasei Raiden: Yay! You’re back! *glomps* I thought you left me for good. However, here you are! 8D I have two of the greatest reviewers.

I like sex scenes, but not when I’m writing them. ^^; I’m more into writing action and Shounan ai fluff. Ramsey/Ryuma is a good example. Hee hee!

I agree with you about Nanaka! I was about to ask her for a plot, but somehow it turned out different than I thought it would. Therefore, now, I’m on with the flow again. *faints* x_x;

I had a great deal of trouble with the name for Ramsey’s alter. It started out as White Absorbent, but I thought that really sucked! >.< Then I decided to use a word closely related to White. That’s where Pallid came in. Lol! I’m also glad that you liked the cuddle scene. I enjoyed writing it…for some reason. XD
