Chapter 7

It's been a looong time, once again. I'm sooo sorry!!! Though, my beta reader has been really, really, really sick and has not been able to do anything with the chapter until recently. And it really needed to be fixed. Quite badly. I don't really like this chapter..but oh well. -shrugs- I just have to type the next chapter up from my journal and get my beta reader to look over it and it should be up. It's quite long...

Review Responses:

Onceuponadream:Yay!I'm glad that you liked my story. I didn't think that I did that good of a job with the character developments....but thanks for your review! It boosted my ego a lot. -ego boost!-I looked at your profile to find your email but I couldn't find it...

Russia:-glomps- I'm quite delighted that you liked the chapter! Though you might not like this one, cuzz it's more of a filler chapter than anything else...But please review again. I’m sorry for the lateness….

Demonladysesshomaru: Well, it’s because it’s a surprise! Dun dun duuun! The drama! Suffer! I think that I answered that question somewhere in this chapter or the next one…or something. Spoiler below! Read story first then read this!
But he didn’t follow him home because he wanted Hisoka to get close to him, try to break down his defenses so that he could control Tsuzuki better in later chapters.

Isilya:Never! I would never stop writing! I love writing! And torturing poor, defenseless bishonens such as Hisoka! Nope, go ahead and ask more questions. I don’t mind. Yeah, I can handle both. Barely though. Lol. Oh yeah, they know of everything. It’s hilarious trying to sleep together in one bed because my g/f is a lesbian and hates the male body parts and refuses to touch him at all…it’s impossible not to though. Chris (b/f) is toooo sexy for his own good. I’m trying to turn him bi so that I could watch two guys make out in my living room. Lol. Review again! (ask more questions if you think of more! I don’t mind!!)

Tieo: Woot! Thanks for the review! Nooo! Don’t have a disastrous break! -glomps- Glad that I’m not the only writer that hasn’t updated in a long while…Yeah, it could have been a tad longer…though this one isn’t better…but at least it’s an update!!

Robin: Thanks for the review! Here’s the next update! Please review again!!

Goldphish: Yay! Glad that you liked my story! -blushes- Aww, thanks for saying that I’m a good author! That’s an extremely large ego boost to my already over-egoed head…^_^. Here’s the next chapter! Please review again! It would be great to hear from you again!

I am soo sorry once again for making everybody wait on this story once again! I’ve had problems with the ex-girlfriend and now that I’ve found a new one I should be alright. ^_^. And my beta reader has been sick soooo that’s why it’s this late! Blame her! -throws her to the mob of angry readers- Lol. -watches but saves-

Also, I got DMC 4 for my b-day and I’ve been playing it every single day so that’s taken most of my time away also..but it’s freakin’ awesome. I love it. I’m sorry if this chapter is confusing. I tried not to make it confusing. And my beta reader did an extremely lovely job in editing it. Thanks! -Glomps and nuzzles- ^^.

Beta reader: Dying-Inside

She is awesome. I love her to death! I’m going to kidnap her and turn her into my own little sex toy! ^_^.

Chapter 7

It had been a week since Tsuzuki took in Hisoka. The blond still had not told him anything about Muraki, but that was fine with Tsuzuki.

Chief Konoe, on the other hand was pissed off beyond belief. After Hisoka had fallen asleep in his bed on the night that Muraki had introduced himself to Tsuzuki, the detective had called his boss. Of course, at the time the brunette didn’t take into account the hour of day, and when Chief Konoe had answered, he was already crabby.

“What?” Chief Konoe barked into the phone, sitting up in bed angrily. He glanced at the caller id, eyes narrowing as he saw that it was Asato Tsuzuki calling him.

“This better be good, Tsuzuki. I was in the middle of sleeping…”

Silence. Chief Konoe growled, his anger awakening him up further. “Damn it, Tsuzuki. You’re lucky that I don’t take this out of your paycheck.”

“But Chief, I’m actually reporting some good information this time!” the brunette whined through the receiver. Konoe rolled his eyes, sighing.

“What do you want?” he asked again, eyes closing, wanting nothing more than to go back to sleep.

“Well, I took ‘Soka out to dinner tonight, and we never even got to eat, and I really wanted to eat there! Oh, but, Hisoka can cook. He made us dinner!” Tsuzuki said happily, a smile dancing across his features.

“…I’ll talk to you later,” Chief Konoe ground out, fingers moving to the off button on the phone.

“No, wait! I actually have something to report in. Listen! Please, chief!”

Chief Konoe sighed once again, leaning against the headboard. “Alright. You get five minutes. Just stop whining Tsuzuki. It’s after midnight.”

“Yay! Thank you, Chief!” The brunette chirped happily. “Alright, well, as we were sitting down for diner, Kazutaka Muraki came into the restaurant and--”

“MURAKI? Tsuzuki, you should have grabbed him!” Konoe bellowed into the phone. “Did you get him?”

Tsuzuki went quiet, letting out a small whimper. “Not exactly. But, I found out that he does know Hisoka.”

“I knew it! Question him. Try to find out as much as you can.”

“I’ll try. But--”

“No buts, Tsuzuki. We need to find out as much as we can. Do you understand?”

The amethyst eyed man went quiet as he opened the door to Hisoka’s room. The blond was fast asleep, his chest moving gently up and down.

Gentle, silver moonlight feel over his small body, caressing his face.

“Tsuzuki?”

The said brunette closed the door, patting down the hallway. “I understand, Chief. I’ll do my best.”

Then the brunette hung up, ending the conversation.

Seven days later and he still had no new information. Of course he had filled his boss in on the rest of what had happened that night, Konoe continuing to demand he find out anything else that he could.

But the brunette found out that he could care less about the blond’s past. Sure, it was part of Tsuzuki’s job, but the past was the past. He knew that he shouldn’t have those types of feelings, but he couldn’t stop himself for some reason. He knew that he had to catch Muraki and the only key he had to him was Hisoka. But the blond haired teenager had not said anything about that night at the restaurant nor about the yakuza leader.

Tsuzuki sighed, rolling over onto his side, pulling the pillow into his chest and wrapping his arms around it. It was about six o’clock on a Wednesday morning. It was still dark outside of the window, the darkness creeping into the detective’s room. Above the horizon there was a light bluish color as the sun as was beginning to come up.

As Tsuzuki lay there, birds chirped outside of his window, the culprits to waking him up. As the brunette was lying there, trying to wake himself up, Hisoka was wide awake down the hallway.

The blond teenager was sitting against his headboard, eyes locked on the window blankly. His knees were pulled to his chest, the blanket wrapped snuggly around them. Hisoka had been forcibly woken by a nightmare that he had had.

It was about Muraki, of course, though it happened a few years ago, it still scared Hisoka. Emerald eyes closed, those violent images of Muraki burning behind his eyelids. Those frightful, ghost-like caresses on his skin made him want to puke every time the other man had touched him. But having him in his dreams was even worse.

Hisoka didn’t understand the feelings that he had towards Tsuzuki. He COULDN’T understand them. He had never felt loved, not even with his parents. But with Tsuzuki, he felt something different. A sense of belonging. A sense of love.

Hisoka snorted to himself, pulling the blankets, off, and got out of bed. Since he was awake he might as well go and find something to eat.

The day after the incident involving Muraki, Tsuzuki had warmly invited Hisoka into his apartment.

Hisoka was staring at the wall, his fingers wrapped around a small mug of hot chocolate, steam gently rising from the liquid. Tsuzuki came into the room, dressed in a long, white t-shirt and black exercising pants.

“Ah, ‘Soka! Do you like my hot chocolate?” The brunette asked earnestly, eyes lighting up as he noticed that the blond was drinking something that he had made.

“It’s actually too hot. And it tastes weird,” Hisoka murmured, dropping his eyes to the floor, his bangs hiding them.

Tsuzuki whined, collapsing next to the teenager. “That’s not nice, ‘Soka! It was to be good. Let me taste it.” Hisoka obeyed his command, watching out of the corner of his eyes as Tsuzuki took a sip of the liquid.

“Tastes fine to me,” the brunette murmured, taking another sip. “Anyway, ‘Soka, you are welcome to stay here if you want….”

Hisoka twitched, looking up at the detective slowly studying him. Tsuzuki seemed to be sincere in saying that. But Hisoka was not too sure about it. He had been tricked too many times by Muraki and other men.

“I’m sure you don’t want to go back to Muraki, right, Hisoka?” The blond tensed at that, fists clenching against his thighs.

“Then stay here! Tatsumi won’t care and I’m sure that the Chief won’t either!” He exclaimed, placing the mug down and throwing his arms around the smaller figure.

Hisoka tensed immediately, his guard up. His eyes narrowed slightly as his shields kicked in quickly to stop the excited man’s emotions from entering his mind. ‘Chief?’ he thought to himself, pushing against Tsuzuki’s chest.

“Ah, I’m sorry, ‘Soka!” Tsuzuki apologized, a sheepish look crossing his face. “So do you want to stay here? I’ll have to go shopping for more food, but you’re welcome to stay here.”

Stay here? The blond blinked, forgetting to struggle, letting the brunette continue to hug him. Why would he want to? Deep down in his chest, a lonely ache started to stir at the thought of leaving this warm place. This place full of love and welcome-nests.

“I-I don’t know,” he whispered, bringing his gaze to the dark carpet, pretending to be studying it.

“Well, for now you are!” Tsuzuki chirped out, cuddling into Hisoka, wrapping his arms around his lithe body. A tremor shot through the small body but Hisoka quickly hid it.

“I’ll stay here… for a few days,” Hisoka replied, finally moving away from the brunette’s hold.

Tsuzuki smiled, letting go of the teenager. He agreed to it happily, wanting and needing to see the younger male for longer.

“Alright, ‘Soka! Now, what do you want from the store?”

Hisoka had decided to stay with the brunette for more than a few days. He didn’t mind the noisy man, but despised his so called ‘cooking with a passion’. So, the blond had decided that in return for letting him stay, he would teach Tsuzuki how to cook. But the said man was clearly doomed to forever screw up his cooking.

The blond sighed, sinking into the couch, staring at the blank television. He bit into the toast that he had made, nibbling away at it.

Everyday Tsuzuki went to work early in the morning, and then came back sometime in the late afternoon. Hisoka didn’t mind being alone in Tsuzuki’s apartment; after all, he had grown up being all alone. But the older man still refused to tell him what his job was.

The blond had guessed that he was a police man or a firefighter or something along those lines. He knew that he shouldn’t trust Tsuzuki….but he couldn’t help but do so. It was the first time that he had felt like he was wanted, and it felt good. That was also the reason that he didn’t want to pry into the other man’s mind and read his thoughts.

Biting into the toast again, Hisoka could hear an alarm go off down the hallway and a loud grown of protest, as the brunette had fallen back to sleep only five minutes before his alarm clock had gone off. He snorted, watching from the corner of his eyes as the door opened, revealing Tsuzuki. The brunette’s hair was violently sticking up in different directions and the amethyst eyes held a hazy look.

“Hiiisooka?” the blond looked over to the direction of the sleepy murmur. “Why’se you awake?” Hisoka bit his lip, trying not to laugh at the brunette who was apparently still asleep.

“I woke up. Couldn’t get back to sleep,” was the reply. Tsuzuki nodded, mumbled something and walked toward the bathroom. “Mmm, I’m taking a shower.”

Hisoka nodded, finishing his toast. He reached for the remote, turning on the TV. Might as well watch something as Tsuzuki is taking his shower…

As the sun became more apparent, with yet more birds waking up, two eyes shone brightly in the darkness. Muraki smiled to himself, picking up a cigarette and lighting it.

He took a drag from it, eyes searching the paper in front of him, memorizing the information. He had been lonely ever since that man, Asato Tsuzuki, had taken his toy.

His fingers twitched as he looked up, the smile on his face widening, as light shone upon him lighting up the darkness.

“Muraki, we made a deal,” came the growl from the wide door, Sagadalius’ form filling up most of its frame. “Where is the boy? I need a fuck quite badly.”

“I know, I know, Sagadalius. Don’t worry.”

“It’s been a WEEK! You never said it would take a damn week for me to just fuck the boy.”

Muraki’s silver eye glinted dangerously, warning the other man that he had better be quiet and quit trying to get on his nerves.

“You will get Hisoka in time. He is currently with my next…project, I guess is what you would say.” Muraki sat back in the chair, smoke curling above him.

“As I have said, you will have Hisoka and can have him as long as you want.”

Sagadalius’ dark eyes narrowed in suspicion. “Why? Doesn’t the brat help you with bargains? And if you know where the kid is, even where this Tsuzuki lives, why don’t you just go to the house and attack them?” he asked, moving to a chair in front of the desk, crossing his arms.

A bark of laughter caused violent shivers to run down his spine. Muraki leaned forward, blue eye shining from underneath the long sheen of silver hair.

“I don’t need him anymore. He is merely a doll. A toy to be used when I please. I don’t need to use him for bargains. Not now, when I am the leader of all of Tokyo and Kyoto’s leading yakuza,” he hissed out, voice low and aggressive, demanding submission from the other man. “As for why I don’t just storm into the apartment and take the boy, that is quite simple. I need him to get close to Tsuzuki. Then when they get closer, I will violently rip them apart and have them betray each other.”

Laughter escaped the pale-skinned man again as he sat back in his seat. Sagadalius swallowed, leaning back slightly to get away from the deranged man.

Kazutaka Muraki was truly a man to be feared.

Blah. Not that good of a chapter...but oh well. I'm working on the next one right now! Please read and review everyone! ^_^
