Late Night Walks & Early Morning Fights

After Takeru had confessed his love for him, Yamato didn’t know what to do. So he did the first thing that came to his mind, RUN. With as much tact as he could muster he excused himself from the table, grabbed his things and was out the door. Once the door was closed behind him, Yamato felt a strong urgency to get further away from there as quickly as possible. So instead of waiting for the elevator, Yamato took the near-by stairs. He was already a couple floors down when he heard his brother shouting and crying. Part of Yamato wanted to turn back around and stop his brother’s tears, but the part that controlled his legs wanted further distance. By the time Yamato reached the ground floor he was exhausted, but his legs demanded that they keep moving. So with a quick
glance up to his apartment, Yamato left the premises.

Yamato walked and walked some more. Every time Yamato would stop, the memories of the recent past would flood his head. So he kept walking, it seemed the only thing to block out the memories. By midnight Yamato’s legs were so cramped he could barely walk, but he kept walking. He walked around looking at all the bright lights of the city. He hadn’t seen the lights for a few months, and he forgot how beautiful they could be. Yamato eventually stopped in a park, he walked to a far corner. He sat on a small cement bench and rested his weary legs. He sat and watched some high school kids breaking their curfew, just to swing and have some drags on a cigarette. Yamato then started walking again.

An hour before dawn broke, Yamato found himself standing in front of his apartment again. He had been standing in front of the door, with his key in lock for a half hour, but still hadn’t let himself in. Once he built up enough courage he turned the key, and opened the door as quietly as he could. He walked in and closed the door. As he entered he noticed that there was a light on in the living room, as he walked there he noticed that Taichi’s chair was moved, to be facing the front door. In the chair sat Taichi, head slumped on his shoulder, a stream of drool running down his chin. Yamato knew then, that his roommate had planned on chewing his ass when he returned, but had fallen asleep during the long wait. Yamato sighed, it was going to be a rough morning. Yamato slipped down the hall and into his bedroom. He glanced at the bed and saw that it was empty, a wave a guilt sprang through Yamato. As he looked around the room he spotted his little brother asleep on the floor. In the dim light from various electronics, Yamato could tell that Takeru’s face was still wet with tears. He knew that his little brother had cried himself to sleep and continued to cry even while asleep. More guilt spread through Yamato a knot forming in his gut. He walked over to his brother, and as gently as he could, picked up him up. Yamato carried his brother over to the bed and placed him in it.

After Yamato tucked his brother into the bed he leaned over and kissed his brother’s forehead. “I’m sorry Takeru.” He then grabbed a one of his spare blankets and walked into the living room and placed it on his roommate. Yamato turned off the light and stumbled back to his bedroom. Once he was got in his bedroom he laid down where his brother had been sleeping moments before. The blanket and pillow were still warm, as Yamato got ready for sleep. Before his mind got a chance to think, Yamato closed his eyes and drifted quickly to sleep.

Yamato could now feel the warmth of the mouth that surrounded his throbbing member. The way his was sliding in and out of the warmth as the boy in front of him bobbed his head up and down. The boy popped Yamato’s dick out of his mouth, and licked his way his shaft. The boy then started to lick Yamato’s balls. Yamato gave a little jump as one of his balls were sucked into the warmth, that his cock had just occupied. The boys tongue moved the balls around in his mouth, before replacing it with the other ball. The flicks of the boys tongue on his balls were pushing Yamato closer and closer to the edge. The boy sensing this licked his way back up to the head of Yamato’s cock. The boy then shocked Yamato, as he took the whole length of Yamato’s dick. Yamato arced his back and let out a loud moan, his hands shooting to the top of the boys hair. The hair was sort of shaggy, but soft, and all too familiar. But Yamato didn’t have time to think about it, as the boy was continuing to deep throat him.
Yamato however did get distracted when he began to hear voices, not far away. One sounded angry while the other sounded on the verge of tears. After more a few more words, he recognized the angry voice, Taichi.

Yamato eyes shot open, then his eyes snapped back shut as a wave of exhaustion hit him. Yamato reached for his cell phone. He looked at the time and saw he was only asleep for a couple hours.

“Just let me in there Takeru.” Taichi growled through clenched teeth.

“No Taichi, just let him sleep.” Pleaded Takeru.

“If he wanted sleep, he wouldn’t have been out all night.” Responded Taichi. Yamato could hear him take a few steps closer.

“It wasn’t his fault.”

“Of course it was his fault.”

“But he left, because what I said.”

“But he shouldn’t have reacted like he did.”

“If I hadn’t have told him in the first place none of this would have happened.” There was a brief moment of silence. Yamato could hear his brother cry. “I knew how he would react. But I listened to you, now didn’t I. I should never have told him. He hates me.”

“What? Now this is all my fault?” Taichi said defensively. “He had the right to know. Besides what good is love if everybody keeps it bottled up. He needed to hear it, and you needed to say it. Now let me in.”

“ No Taichi. He may hate me, but I still love him. I’m not going to let you in there.” Said Takeru, backing up against the door.

“Damn it Takeru. He hurt you last night, and all that is forgiven already? Just because you love him. Besides I’m not going to hurt him.” There was a split second pause. “I just want to chew his ass out!” shouted Taichi as he lunged for the door.

“No!”

Yamato heard a loud bang against the door. Yamato could then hear a small scuffle begin over the door knob. Yamato tossed the blanket off of him as he rushed to the door. Yamato jerked the door open and was quickly knocked to the ground, his brother and Taichi landing on top of him. Yamato winced and let out a groan at the bottom of the pile.

“Damn it, Taichi!” screamed Takeru.

“It wasn’t me.” Grunted Taichi.

“Would you guys mind getting off of me.” Groaned Yamato.

The two boys gave each other a look of surprise. Neither one knew that they were laying on Yamato. They both quick jumped up.

“Way to go Taichi, you woke him up.” Said Takeru.

“Well good, he didn’t deserve to sleep.” Said Taichi.

Takeru looked like he was going to charge the brunette. Yamato saw this and quickly grabbed Takeru’s leg. “I was already up Takeru. Now can you help me up please?” Takeru reached down a hand, Yamato grabbed it and pulled himself up. There was silence as the three digidestined looked at one another. Yamato was the first to speak.
“Taichi, would you mind? I would like to talk to my brother.”

“Actually I do mind, Yamato. Takeru, would you mind? I need to have a talk to your brother.” Said Taichi.

“I’m sorry Taichi, but no. My brother needs to talk to me.” Said Takeru. Taichi gave off a huff before leaving the room. Takeru gently closed the door after him. Both brother’s walked over to the side of the bed and sat on it. An awkward silence was shared between them, as they just sat there, taking the occasional glance at each other. One of them would try to speak but the words would catch in their throat and they’d close their mouth.

Eventually Yamato broke the silence. “About last night.”

Takeru quickly said, “It was just a joke.”

Yamato let out a sigh. “I know it wasn’t Takeru.”

Takeru hung his head down, there went his shot to erase everything.

“Listen, about last night.” Yamato paused, trying to force the words out of his mouth. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have just left like that.”

“It’s ok.”

“No it’s not!” shouted Yamato as quiet as he could while standing up. He didn’t turn back to face his younger brother. “I should have stayed, and we could have talked about it. Instead I ran off.”

“But you came back. You’re here now.” Retorted Takeru

“Yeah, how many hours after it happened?” Yamato countered, his hands clenched in rage towards himself.
Takeru didn’t know how to answer. He just kept his mouth shut and looked at his brother, who still had his back turned. A response finally came Takeru, “Regardless, you’re here now, so let’s talk.”
Yamato let out a sigh, as he let his fists go. He didn’t know how to begin. He tried anyways, “So you said that you loved me, and then I ran off. And……”

“Don’t worry about it. I’m over you, you know, teenage angst and all that.” Said Takeru trying to convince his brother.

“Damn it, Takeru. Quit lying to yourself, just to make me feel better. Even if it was possible to get over somebody that quick, I know you’re lying. I heard you and Taichi arguing in the hall.” Said Yamato.

“You heard that huh?”

Yamato just responded with a nod.

The room went remained silent for a few minutes. “Let’s just forget that this ever happened.” Suggested Takeru.

“Takeru, even if we could just forget that it happened, it isn’t fair to you.”

“Life isn’t fair Yamato. Besides, I’d rather live my life as a lie, and still have you as my brother, than to live a truthful life with out you.” Takeru said, getting misty eyed.

Yamato turned around, his eyes barely holding back the water in them, “That isn’t fair, I’d get to live life like normal, and you’d be in misery all the time.”

“But that I what I want, I told you that. I’ll do it all for you Yamato.”

“I don’t deserve a brother like you.” Said Yamato, his eyes no longer able to hold the tears back.

Takeru jumped off the bed and hugged his brother, “Of course you do, You’re the best brother in the world. It’s me that doesn’t deserve you. Now forget all about what happened last night.”

A problem with Takeru’s suggestion entered Yamato’s head, “Taichi won’t. He’ll want to set things straight.” Murmed Yamato.

“I’ll talk to Taichi. Now go get ready, you have a busy day.”

Yamato grabbed his things and got ready for a shower. He quickly slipped down the hall to the bathroom. While Takeru went to the living room to talk to Taichi. Before he turned on the water, Yamato could hear shouts coming on the other side of the wall. He then heard loud footsteps walk by and Taichi’s door slam. Yamato got in the shower and started the water.

As Yamato showered he couldn’t help but think about what just happened. He thought about what had happened the night before. How part of him was happy, but the rest of him was scared. About how cruel it was to leave. He thought also about what just had just happened. About how it was Takeru who was protecting him, how it was Takeru who was comforting him. Yamato realized that they had switched roles, that Takeru was now playing the big brother, and he was the little brother. He realized just how powerless he was now to stop Takeru’s pain. The only way to get rid of it was to return the love, and he couldn’t do that, at least not the kind of love that he wanted. Could he?

Once his shower was done, Yamato dried off and changed into his clean clothes and did his hair. Yamato left the bathroom and dropped his dirty clothes off in his bed room. He walked to the kitchen where he saw his brother and Taichi were around the table eating cereal. Yamato grabbed a bowl and joined them. There was tension in the silence that surrounded them. However it didn’t stay silent for long.

Taichi looked at the two blondes, how they both looked like they both had a big secret, and it was eating them both alive. Taichi dropped his spoon into his bowl, “This is bullshit, you guys can’t……”

“TAICHI!” shouted Takeru as he slammed the table with his fist. The bowls and spoons rattle against each other.
If looks could kill, Taichi would have been six feet under.

Taichi stood up and walked out of the kitchen, “I need to go get the field ready.” Taichi mumbled Taichi as he grabbed his keys.

“Don’t forget, the concert is tonight, so be there by….” Yamato was cut off by the front door slamming.

Both brothers sat there staring at their full bowls of cereal, neither one hungry. They both went and dumped them down the sink, trying to get lost in the noise of the garbage disposal. They then tried to carry life on as normal as possible. They each knew that something felt off, they both knew what it was, but they also had both said that it was to be forgotten.
