I Won't Let You

Disclaimer: Do not and never will own WHR.

This is the second version of chapter eight. This is the version I will be working with for the rest of the fanfict. I like the way this version turned out much better than the first, as the first time I tried chapter eight it was like writing with nails on a chalkboard. Yeah, fun. Like passing a kidney stone (though I wouldn\'t know thank Merlin).

So, anywho, ON WITH THE STORY!

Oh, by the way, the rest of the story is not intended for the younger readers. Meaning, things get a little steamy. Literally. Not all at once, so don\'t even bother skipping ahead, or you\'ll lose out on a HUGE part of the story. Not everything revolves around Amon and Robin, you know. ^_^

Chapter Eight: I Won\'t Let You

Amon saw the surge of water and stopped, dead center in the middle of the room. He swung Robin’s feet to the floor, and before he could think his split second plan through, cupped her head with his hands, dug his fingers into her hair, and kissed her.

“Burn,” he whispered against her mouth, sliding one hand down to wrap his arm firmly around her back. His tight grip on his powers loosened and fell away.

He felt Robin’s back arch as her hands threaded their way into his own hair, kissing him back just as hard. Flames erupted in the air around them. Only this time, as he released his own power, the flames turned blue. Burning without burning. They tickled this skin of his forearms where his sleeves had been pushed up. His hair wafted gently about his face as if stirred by an invisible wind.

Robin’s hair tickled his neck as her hair, too, lifted from her shoulders. Bare shoulders. He bent slightly, ducking his head and dropping a kiss on her neck. Her body jerked to his as she gasped. Her knee brushed his as her leg bent. He barely noticed that neither of his feet were touching the ground, instead he stood on a solid wisp of blue. Smaller flames curled up his calves.

A sphere of flame was created around them, the outer edge gaining a thin solid crust. Water flowed along the crust, trying to break through and smother the flames and kill him and Robin, but the shield held.

Avaia stared at the fiery sphere in shock, before realizing the outside of the sphere was covered in water.

“Sakaki, check out the street. Do you see anyone?”

Skirting the sphere, Sakaki crossed to the window, peering outside. “Yeah! There’s some guy out there staring up at us—wait a minute. There’s two—THAT’S MICHAEL!”

Violet eyes flashed as Avaia strode to the window. A tear slid down her cheek, burning with violet flames. Sakaki and the others gasped as she opened the window, aimed, and threw the tear out onto the street. “USE IT MICHAEL!”

Michael heard her bellow, caught the fireball with the black pearl core, and looked at the man who was suddenly spouting gets of water at him. Stunned, the water hit an invisible barrier, parting around him. He stared at the tear.

“YOU LEAVE THEM ALONE!” Michael yelled, throwing the tear at the man, who blinked in surprise.

“What do you think a mere fireball—“ He blinked again, as the water suddenly stopped responding to his commands. “You—you took my power!”

Avaia leaned out the window. “You abuse it, you lose it, bub! Now get lost!”

The man took one look at the red haired demon hanging out the window and ran for it. Michael watched him go, then looked up at the window. Avaia was still hanging out the window, watching the man run and shaking her fist at him when he paused at the corner down the street.

“KEEP GOING I CAN STILL SEE YOU!”

Laughing, Michael made his way into Robin’s apartment, where Karasuma and Doujima were staring at the sphere.

“Whoa. What is—“ He looked at the water on the floor. “Shield?”

“Apparently,” Sakaki muttered, checking his gun. “What’re you doing out of your cage, anyway?”

Michael hadn’t even started to defend himself when Avaia ducked back into the room, slamming the window. Sakaki jumped and turned to face her, bowing his head in guilt.

“Sakaki, have you not even wondered what your powers might be?” She asked sharply, and his head shot up. PowePowers? Me?”

“You were thrown against the wall like all of us, were you not?”

“Uh yeah, but I thought…”

“I’m the only one who wasn’t affected, Sakaki. I’m not a witch or a Seed. I don’t have any powers, dormant or not, to be affected.” Muttered Doujima.

“But I’m not—“

Avaia picked up a book from Robin’s shelf and chucked it at him. He saw it coming, ducked, and blinked as the book froze in midair, slowly rotating in place.

“As I thought. You’re a kinetic. Try pushing it back to me.”

Sakaki tried to push the book back to her, but it dropped to the floor. He went to pick it up, but it shot into his palm before he could bend his knees.

“One way kinetic, it seems. You can summon and impede stuff coming at you, but you can’t move it away. Defensive power.” Avaia eyed him thoughtfully, then turned her gaze on Michael. “And what would your power be, Michael?”

Michael blinked in surprise. “I—I have no idea.”

“Can this wait?” Karasuma gestured to the sphere.

“Sakaki? Could you?” Avaia retrieved a large pot from the kitchen and handed it to him. “If you hold it with two hands, you should be able to summon the last of the water and contain it in the pot.”

“I can try.” He tried, and succeeded very well, only losing a bit of water when he ended the summons and water spilled from the pot.

“What now?”

“Now we go into the living room and wait. It’s up to Amon to break the shield.”

They trooped out into the livingroom and made themselves comfortable.

Amon and Robins’ powers flowed together, flame merging with ice until red became blue, and neither flame nor ice burned the flesh. The blue was a solid wall of flames, and you could neither see in, nor could you see out. The glow illuminated their pale skin.

“Robin…”

The small girl, no, woman, in his arms shifted, resting her head on his shoulder. “I love you Amon. I’ve loved you for three years.”

“Gods woman, what are you doing to me?”

“Nothing yet.”

He lifted his head and stared down at her in shock. He had never, not once, heard that sort of talk come from her lips.

Lips which were currently smirking up at him.

“Who are you, and what have you done with my Little Bird?”

“Your little Bird is right here, Amon. Only she’s not so little anymore, and she’s waiting to fly.”

Amon tightened his arms around her, pulling her close and burying his face in the curve of her neck. “You don’t know what you ask of me, Robin.”

“Oh, I think I do. I’m not quite so naive as I used to be. And in case you haven’t noticed, our powers are already joined, why not our hearts? Our souls? Our—“

“—bodies.” He slid his knee between hers, pressing up against the juncture of her thighs with his own. She would be able to feel just how badly he wanted her.

~*~

Robin gasped, clutching his arms as she felt his thigh between her legs, rubbing against her and sending waves of heat through her body. She felt herself grow damp, and she mewled softly, her fingers tightening.

“Amon—“ God forgive her, she wanted this man. She wanted to know what it was to love, and be loved. She wanted to know what it was to make love. But not with anyone. Only Amon. Only her dark angel, the man who had protected her and risked everything for her for the last three years. Her dark angel, who even now protected her from harm, bho cho could never protect her from herself.

She slid her hands up his shoulders and dug her fingers into his hair, turning her head and claiming his mouth with her own. She didn’t let up pressure until she felt him respond, and then she followed his lead, learning by his example.

“Robin—“

“You can’t protect me from you, Amon. I won’t let you.”

End Chapter Eight

Well, let me know what you think. I personally think this version flows much better than the first, even if I did take out the kitty. Poor kitty. >^.^<
