Chapter Eight:


Alexia had found her box of clothing and pulled out some clothes. \"Shinji... where is the bathroom so I can change?\"

Touji was rubbing his arms. \"I still don\'t see why I had to give him my jacket..\" he griped, looking over at Jack, who was still shirtless, but with his black jacket on. Shinji pointed down the hall, leaning out of the living room.

\"Just down that hall, past the bedrooms.\"

She nodded thanking him and going to the room.

Kensuke grinned. \"Because Rei still has mine.\"

Jack began to pose, like a model. \"Come on, you know you like.\"

Touji made a face, and threw a cushion at him, nailing the American dead center in the face.

Rei was sitting with her book in her hands, reading. She spared them a glance, then returned to the pages in front of her.

Jack rubbed his nose. \"Ouch...dat hurb...\"

Alexia returned tossing the shirt that Jack had let her borrow to him. \"Thanks.\" She smiled blushing slightly. She was now dressed in skin tight jeans and a cropped top that just barely covered her small breasts.

\"So...what happened to little miss nag?\" Touji commented, before sg Alg Alexia and starting to drool, which earned him a pillow to the face from Jack. \"Owchies...oteh, I deserbed dat.\"

\"I think that Miss Ayanami upset her and she stormed off... She will be back though.\" Alexia said, her tone soft.

Jack removed the jacket, and tossed it back to Touji. He hooked his thumbs in the waistband, making them go down a little. The American looked around, then blinked.

\"You still look tired.\" Kensuke said, finding his voice. /She\'s prettier than Misato.../

Shinji sat back down, and looked through a textbook. \"Okay...now...this, and this makes...what...\" he said softly, chewing on his tongue before Jack bapped him.

\"I will be fine.\" Alexia responded sitting on the couch. \"I\'m sorry... Does my clothing make you uncomfortable?\"

\"You\'ll bite through it that way...trust me.\" Jack pulled his emitters out, and looked at them, a light platinum color. He slipped them back in his hair, making it go down again. He made another pose, and made Shinji go red.

\"Not as much as the Yaoi Wonder there...\" Touji commented, before Jack threw a second cushion at his face. \"Ack!\"

\"Yaoi? I am sorry, My Japanese isn\'t that good.\"

\"I\'ma get a shirt...\" Jack said, heading for Shinji\'s room, where the sounds of things getting tossed around could be heard.

Shinji was torn be explaining, and chasing Jack with a stick.

Kensuke grinned. \"It\'s men with men adult stuff.\"

\"Oh.\"

Jack came back out with one of Shinji\'s button-up shirts, then removed the emitters, and flicked them at Touji, who got smacked in the forehead with them. \"Ahh! Okay, okay! I apologize...\"

Rei looked at her watch. \"it is getting late..\"

Misato walked in with two bags of groceries. Asuka was behind her. \"Ick, the nerd squad\'s all here..\"

Jack made a kissy face. \"I love you too, dear,\" he said sweetly. Then came the sound of a car pulling up outside. Rei looked out the window, then resumed reading just as there was a knock at the door.

Kensuke got the door while Alexia went to get a bag from Misato.

Asuka scowled at the other girl.

Kaji stood there, holding a bottle of champagne. \"Hello again, Kensuke...mind if I come in?\" he asked politely.

\"Kaji! Finally a real person.\" Asuka shoved Ken out of the way. \"Come in.\"

Jack then did the stealth creep, and picked Asuka up, his arms around her waist. \"A-ha! I\'ve got you now, you...German, you.\"

Asuka screamed, elbowing Jack. \"Let go of me, you filthy American!\"

Kensuke rolled his eyes. \"How are you Kaji-kun?\"

Alexia peeked her head into the main room. \"Kaji, Nice to see you again.\" She said politely.

Kaji nodded. \"I\'m fine, thanks. I see they\'re getting along better..\" He indicated Jack and Asuka.

Asuka struggled against him. \"Kaji! Help!\"

Misato groaned, coming in from her shower. \"Who invited him?\"

Kaji smiled at them. \"Ah...youth.\" He handed the bottle to Kensuke. \"I was in the neighborhood...with some of Jack\'s things..\"

Jack finally set Asuka down at the mention of his stuff.

\"I think he\'s hyper...\" Touji mock-whispered to Rei.

\"Then I take it Jack and I will be roommates?\" Alexia asked. \"Shinji? Are you sure that it needs more lettuce?\"

Kaji handed Jack a small box, and the American took it possessively. \"Mine! Not yours! Mine!\"

Shinji rolled his eyes. \"Yes, I am...at least I think so...stop confusing me..\"

Rei looked over at Jack and blinked. They were definatly mirror opposites.

\"I am sorry.\" She said taking the salad to finish making it at the table.

Kaji found a seat, and slouched into it. \"So, having fun?\" he asked no one in particular.

Kensuke looked at Jack. \"What is it?\"

Shinji sighed, rubbing his eyes. \"That\'s okay...it\'s the coffee and lack of sleep talking.\"

Asuka settled beside him. \"Now that you\'re here.\'

\"You\'ve delivered it. Go.\" Misato said, her voice barely a whisper, anger on her face.

Jack grinned evilly, and opened the box. \"Ah yes...my precious DVD...eh heh heh heh...\" He brought out a black DVD case, and let the others see the front graphic. \"All hail my Freddy vs Jason...HAIL IT!\"

Kaji looked up at her, smiling. \"Why the rush to get rid of me? Wait...don\'t tell me...Commander Ikari\'s stopping by for scones?\"

Kensuke oohed. \"DVDs are hard to come by now... And that one\'s pre-Second Impact.....\"

Alexia finished the salad. \"Need me to help with anything else, Shinji?\"

\"She\'s just PMsing. Please stay for dinner, Kaji..\"

\"Yes...I know. Thank God I\'m American...They\'re slightly easier to find there...especially Friday the 13th part VIII, also termed \'Dear God..The Horror of Bad Writing.\' \" Jack had a wry grin on his face. \"I am master of finding things.\"

Shinji thought. \"Uh....how\'re those noodle..things..going? You know, the ones Jack wanted?\"

\"You\'re my hero..\" Kensuke asked, asking him about everything technological.

Kaji nodded knowingly. \"Well, I\'ll try...I don\'t think they\'ll need me around tonight, after all.\"

\"The Ravioli?\" She went to check on it. \"Still a little hard. I\'ll watch them, though.\"

Misato scowled and stomped into the kitchen for a beer.

\"Well, the availability of what we deem \'stuff\' is classified under many things....there are \'stuff\' such as military hardware...which we never seem to lack. Then there are \'stuff\' like this DVD, which is harder to find, because...well, you know how it is...people seem more concerned with building war machines...*cough*EVA*cough*\"

Asuka glared at Jack.

Shinji nodded, and opened the fridge. \"Well...there\'s leftover curry....bleah...and beer...lots of beer...\"

Jack returned the glare. \"Don\'t make me put this on...you\'ll probably wet the bed.\" He said loudly, whiffing his hand.

\"Misato? Is something wrong? You seem tense.\" Alexia asked, stirring the pasta and sauce.

Touji was just poking at Rei lightly, until the First Child closed her book. Then he backed away. \"what is it?\"

\"Everyone knows Germans aren\'t afraid of cheap American slasher flicks.\"

Shinji sighed, and got out a beer for her. \"Here...\" he held it out with one hand, still looking inside.

Misato took it. \"Thank you Shinji.\"

Jack snorted. \"Sure...okay then, let\'s see....I bet, in front of everyone here...that you\'ll be scared out of your pants before the movie is over...oh wait...you don\'t wear pants..\"

\"You\'re welcome,\" came from the fridge, before something fell on his head. \"Ah! Damnit! Ow!\"

Alexia froze for a moment. She dropped her spoon clutching her arm.

\"Nothing...just bored.\" Touji replied.

\"oh.\"

\"Alexia?\"

\"I\'m okay, it\'s nothing. I think I need to go rest a while.\"

Shinji emerged, rubbing his head. \"Ow...one of the shelves came loose and smacked me in the head..\"

Misato nodded tossing the girl the key to her apartment. \"I\'ll send someone to get you when dinner\'s ready.\"

Kaji sighed. \"Children....behave...\"

Misato turned to check on Shinji.

\"Ow...stupid....curry...\" He fixed the tray, and started putting the stuff back in place.

\"I\'m still tougher than you are, Jack.\" She added something in German under her breath.

Jack snorted. \"Oh yeah?\" Then he started speaking in French again, adding some very fluent Austrian insults.

She flushed, getting up in his face.

Jack continued, getting right into the same German dialect as Asuka, detailing what he thought of her and Kaji, and what he thought of her rude behavior. Also adding in that he knew what color panties she wore.

Alexia left the apartment quietly slipping into the one she was going to share wih Jack. Kensuke and Touji had helped her move her things and now she sifted through them with her garm arm looking for something specific.

Asuka growled, decking him in the jaw.

Jack stumbled back, slamming into the wall behind him. He spat out some blood, then made another few remarks about what random things, before suddenly slapping his hand over his mouth.

Asuka stormed to her room.

Jack hurried to the bathroom, and started vomiting again. \"Huuuuurghhhh!\" and then, \"FUCK!\"

\"Woah....\" Kensuke said watching the others a moment.

\"HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURGGGGHHHHH!!!\"

Shinji got out some ice, and put it on his head.

Misato went to see what happened.
zeromutoh: Jack had his head over the toilet, and blood was staining it. The water was a light red color. \"Damnit..\" he muttered, looking down at the red mess.

Shinji finished preparing the dinner, and shut off the stove. Kaji got up, and knocked on Asuka\'s door.

Alexia found her teddy bear and walked to her room sitting in the corner with it. /I\'m away from you mother... but I still feel the pain... why.. Mother what are they doing to you.../

Asuka was sobbing into her pillow

\"HUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!\" There was a splat, and more blood stained the white porcelain.

Misato checked on Jack after sending Rei to get Alexia.

\"Jack... Jack, are you okay?\" She tried to open the door. /Ikari\'s going to kill me.../

Rei slowly walked to the apartment, and rapped on the door. \"hello?\" she called out softly.

The door was unlocked.

\"No...I\'m not okay....I\'m bleeding out again...\" he managed to reply, sitting back against the wall.

\"Want me to get the doctor?\"
zeromutoh: Jack shook his head. \"No....I\'ll be fine...I think it was the excitement...some water\'d be good though...\"

She nodded. \"I\'ll be back with it.\"

Rei made her way inside. \"are you in here?\"

Alexia heard Rei and stood, leaving the room. \"Yes. I\'m sorry, did something happen? Or is dinner done?\"

\"dinner is ready....and there was a fight..\"

Jack coughed some more, and looked at the bloody mess. He placed a hand over his stomach, and thought.

\"Asuka and Jack?\" She asked, still holding the teddy bear close to her.

\"hai.\"

Kaji slid the door open, framed by the lig \"S \"Something wrong?\" he asked her, concerned.

\"Both will be troublesome...\" She said nodding. \"Rei... I noticed this place is three bedrooms... Do you think Commander Ikari would mind if you moved in too. I could use someone to help me with my Japanese, and stay sane. Jack is free-willed... but loud..\"

Asuka shook her head. \"I\'m sorry, Kaji... It\'s just....\"

Rei blinked. \"i don\'t know..i would have to ask him..and hai...he is.\"

Kaji leaned against the wall. \"It\'s just what?\"

\"He got me off guard..\"

Misato knocked lightly on the door again. \"Jack?\"

Kensuke entered the kitchen. \"Thought Alexia was helping..\"

\"How? Was it the German that caught you off-balance?\" Kaji smiled wryly. \"No one thought he knew German...it\'s not even in the Report.\"

Shinji sighed. \"She was...but then she felt sick..\"

\"Yea...\" came his voice, still weak, but steady. \"Please state the order into the microphone in a clear voice, and we\'ll get right to it.\"

Kensuke nodded, getting glasses for everyone. \"I see.\"

\"Can I come in?\" she asked.

Asuka nodded.

Jack smiled a bit. \"Only if you don\'t mind the mess of blood...\" He took a nearby plunger, and smacked the lock with it. \"It\'s open.\"

\"The others won\'t make fun of me if I bring Teddy, would they?\"

\"i do not think so.\"

Alexia nodded. \"We better go before they send a search party... though with the two red heads... I bet no one noticed I was gone..\"

Rei nodded, and waited. \"hai.\"

Alexia fell in step beside Rei, going quiet now.

Misato entered the room. \"Oh God... You sure you don\'t need the doctor?\"

Jack shook his head. \"No...I\'m like this whenever I take too much of any medication...\" He coughed again.

Kaji moved closer to her. \"It\'s only human for us to get stunned like that sometimes..\"

Asuka clung to him, crying a few moments.

She nodded, kneeling next to him.

He ran a hand through her hair. \"It\'s not that big a deal....besidenowinowing you, he\'ll be the one running to his room next time..\" Kaji semi-grinned.

Alexia carefully locked the door and put the keys on the bow around her bear\'s neck before following Rei into the other apartment.

Jack coughed a few more times. \"I was told it was a medical condition...but I\'ve been like this since I can remember...\"

Misatoded.ded. She patted his back, hoping to calm him.

Jack wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. \"It\'s a real mess in here....what\'s weird is that other than water, I don\'t need anything else to help me..\" He grinned slightly.

She handed him the glass of water. \"Here... I\'ll help you clean up. Shinji can wait for dinner. I think Kaji went to go calm down Asuka. You two should really try to get along.\"

Jack snorted, and nearly gagged. \"Maybe..\" He started drinking, and sighed. \"Maybe I should\'ve stayed in the apartment...just barricaded myself in there...\"

\"No, she needed someone to knock her off her high horse.\" Misato grinned.

Jack sighed, closing his eyes. \"Yea, maybe...but I don\'t think we needed me vomiting up more blood all over the place afterwards...\"
