Ballgowns and sneakers

Chapter Nine

The next few days seem to slog by in a muddied haze. Integra hadn't been sleeping well, her dreams escalating. She'd even woken to hear herself calling for HIM. And he of course came, her arousal in his nose, her heart pounding in his ears. He would always smile that enigmatic smile of his, as though he knew her dark secret. But then he did.

Alucard fought against his own desires. Too many times he had loomed over her sleeping form, wanting to take, to possess. It was coming, he knew. Just as one inevitably sees a train if they walk on the track. But his victory must come from her WILLING downfall. She must choose to submit to the monster rather than let him force his seduction. Yes, that was the key element.

Oh he planned to use every dirty trick he knew and they were quite alot. Subtly was his weapon, and her own passions. The ice princess was far from, and he was patiently waiting for the day when she caught ablaze with him. It promised to be heaven to him.

Currently, she sat at her desk. Either she wasn't aware of him or she was pointedly ignoring him. She was carefully reading the reports from the last few missions. Lately, she'd given Seras more mobility in missions and his fledgling was not a disappointment. While she still balked of feeding from humans, she was now able to relegate her enemies to a status lesser to that.

Walter had reminded him that in a mere two day's time, they'd be attending the London winter ball. By all that was holy HE must behave himself. He'd not shame Integra - ever.

But he wasn't there to be her lapdog either. He was entirely male, an alpha to the purest pedigree. Just what she liked, and he meant to let her see that in no uncertain terms. There was only one type of man that could ever HAVE Integra fully, and that of course was him.

He'd looked over the clothing that Walter had brought him with a critical eye. It was a formal tuxedo, though he was grateful that Walter had been sensible enough not to get a coat with tails.

It was a long coat however, much like the one he had on now. Cleaner lines, black wool, white silk shirt, white tie, blood red silk vest. Very nice. He couldn't wait to see what Integra would wear.

"Walter I cannot wear that thing!" she said sternly. The gown in question hung against the wall. Ice blue, clinging silk. No ruffles, none of that putrecence usually associated with dresses. However this was strapless and would hug her curves, flaring slightly just below her hips.

It was gathered on one side, giving it the full formal effect and was scattered with twinkling crystals. It was breathtaking. He'd chosen this one carefully. It would make her pale hair and skin shine and her eyes would be just riveting. He told her so.

"You can wear it you just don't want to." he told her matter of factly, "You aren't comfortable in dresses and such, but you can't wear your daily suits. So you WILL wear this." She stared at him a moment and then, feeling much like a chastised child she slumped in defeat.

"Oh very well."

Walter rolled his eyes at her tone.

"Oh GOODY Sir!" he said in mockingly bright tones.

Seras laughed from the door, "Oh Walter, stop being an old codger. Sir Integra is not happy about going. And she hates those little shoes." she told him as she brought a box from behind her back.

Integra nodded her agreement. Seras sat the box down before her, "I thought these might help a little." she said. Integra eyed the vampire carefully, "You didn't need to do anything Seras." she insisted. The vampire shrugged and grinned.

Integra barely managed to hold back a smile as she lifted the lid. Inside, laced with pale blue ribbons were the most wonderful things she'd seen all day.

"Sneakers."

Walter shot her a most disapproving glare. Seras rubbed lightly at the back of her head. "Well the dress in long enough to hide them and I thought that if her feet didn't hurt she might have a little better time."

Integra smiled warmly at her, "Thank you Seras."
