Did You Love Us?

Here's chapter nine. Go back and read chapter eight, I accidentally uploaded without the previous chapter. I hope I didn't ruin anything for anybody!!! I want to get number ten up tomorrow, but no promises because I also have to pack (hooray for gay pride festivals!)

Guy finally stood and moved to the bathroom door. "Rion?" He said softly, his voice trembling slightly. He could hear his twin sobbing and tried the doorknob. Of course it was locked. "Rion, please? I'm… I'm sorry. I don't have the right to be sorry, but I really am. I was just so mad… please understand!" He pressed his ear to the door, and only heard the Blondie's sobbing stop.

"Go away." Came a weak voice from the other side of the door. "You've… helped me enough."

Guy sighed and sat down in front of the door, leaning back against it. His twin was in the same position on the other side. "I just don't like the idea of you being with other men. I always thought… well, I thought you were mine. Like, I would have been happy keeping you as my exclusive partner."

"Then why were you such a dick the past couple weeks?"

He knew he didn't have an answer to that. "I was being selfish. I thought that you would love me no matter what. And I just wanted to do some thinking. I didn't realize that brooding all the time and being afraid of being touched would have hurt you so much."

Rion thought about that for a moment. And when he spoke next, his voice was near a whisper. "But that doesn't excuse what you did to me."

"I know it doesn't. Shit, I don't know what I was thinking. I was jealous, and the idea of you falling for some other guy just made me… crazy." There was no reply to that, just silence and the sound of Rion shifting.

Finally, after a long silence, the blonde twin asked, "Will you tell me you love me? Please? You can even lie; I think I just need it right now."

Guy turned his head to look at the door. "It wouldn't be a lie! I do love you, Rion, and I'm a horrible person for making you ever doubt that." And then he heard the lock to the bathroom door click.

Right away he jumped up and opened the now unlocked door, rushing in to gather Rion into his arms. His twin let him hold him for a minute before pushing him away altogether and wiping at his eyes. 'I… I don't think I can touch you right now. But when I calm down, there are some things we'll need to talk about." Guy agreed and took a step back, hoping that he could somehow atone for his sin.

It was a couple days until Rion spoke to him again. And it was nearly a month until he would touch him. Their relationship was strained, and Rion was growing emotionally cold. He dove into his work, shunning time with Guy so that he could get things done. And it really seemed to pay off, as the young Blondie ended up being the youngest to be accepted to the higher council. He represented Tanagura and the elites that he'd been raised with. What was now the middle class.

Guy thought that he was going to start going crazy. He had nothing to do all day except walk around town, and that got boring. He didn't want a job, he hated to be on a specific schedule and anyways they didn't need the money. Whenever Rion was home, he tried to spend time with his twin. And the other let him kiss him or touch him softly, but Guy knew that the other just wasn't into it as much as before. So he'd grown cold as well. In fact, it was now a month and a half since the incident, and he'd completely given up on wooing him.

But at least there was something to do. That night there was a party for the political members of the community. It celebrated the day that Iason and Riki destroyed Jupiter. Rion and Guy were both requested to show up as guests of honor. There was now way that they could refuse, they were the only legacy that the pair had left behind. Though Guy had to promise his twin that he would hide the secret hatred for his mother and father that he had harbored all his life before the other would agree to bring him.

"Can you wear the black suit? It would make you look more like our mother." Rion requested as they were getting dressed. Guy grumbled something under his breath about how much he didn't want to look like that 'mongrel scum' but Rion pretended to not hear. In fact, the Blondie was trying to pick a white and red outfit, something close to what their father wore. Changed for style, of course.

And then they were ready, looking every bit the important guests that they wore. Nobody would even guess that they were half mongrel or that they had been raised in a middle class society. Which was what the Blondie was aiming for… he knew that many people there would judge them on class. Old habits died hard.

A chauffer came to pick them up, driving them to the party. Guy suddenly got nervous as they approached the large marble building. This isn't what he was, he didn't think he would be able to survive. His hand reached out for his twin's, seeking some sort of comfort. But Rion pulled his hand away and hissed, "Not now. Don't pull any of that tonight, people will spread rumors about us that I'd rather didn't surface." Properly admonished, the dark haired man put his hand back in his lap.

Then the car door opened and they both stepped out of the car. People shouted questions at the two of them, shoved cameras in their faces and caused both of them to push the crowd away just so they could get to the building. Then inside, Rion led Guy straight to Raoul. Hands were shaken and Guy didn't miss the lecherous look that the older Blondie gave his twin. Instinctively, he moved towards Rion. He knew that Raoul was the one who violated his brother, and he knew that Rion wasn't completely keen on the idea at the time. So he felt a slight protective streak.

Suddenly it seemed like a crowd of hundreds descended upon the two. The twins shook hands, met other delegates and members of society, had many people tell them how wonderful their father was (Guy managed to keep a straight face) and told them how much they expected of the boys. And then they were ushered up to the stage to be presented to the rest of the party.

Guy looked over at his brother, meeting his eyes and giving him a small smile. And he was thrilled to get a smile back. But the speaker was gesturing towards them, so both of their heads turned back to front and they watched him. Just information about their lives and what Rion had accomplished…. They mostly didn't mention Guy.

"… I for one am proud to see the sons of the great Iason Mink filling their father's shoes. And I'm sure if he was here today, he would say the same thing. But now we're going to watch a short biography that the history and entertainment ministries have put together." There was applause, and the man went to sit in the chairs on stage, prompting the twins to do the same.

A hologram came from a projector in the floor. Everything was life sized, so everyone could see. It was a young Iason. Guy's eyes widened and his head turned to look at his twin to be sure. Rion was the spitting image of him. Except for the younger man's darker complexion, one would think that they were the same person. The voice narrating described how Iason graduated at the top of his class in the academy, and was the youngest programmer to work with Jupiter. Soon he was chosen to be the supercomputer's main contact, becoming the most important person in the world.

The twins watched as the projector showed many different pictures of Iason, all chronological. But one really stood out in Guy's mind. It was a picture of Iason with two other young men, one looked like Raoul and the other he couldn't identify. They were wearing casual clothes and posing with pool sticks as if they were brandishing swords. Raoul and the unknown boy were smiling that smug smile that Guy hated from the Blondies. But his father was grinning, truly happy about what they were doing.

But the picture left as soon as it was put up. And soon enough Iason was older, like in the crumpled, 2 dimensional photograph that the two had. The voice mentioned their mother. "Iason's pet, Riki, was the subject of much debate over many a dinner table in Eos. There were rumors that instead of being purchased from the pet academy, Riki was kidnapped from the streets. He first appeared as Iason's pet in year 192, and he made a lasting impression on all social elite." The hologram changed to show Riki in his black leather pet's outfit. Now it was Rion's turn to widen his eyes. Riki was darker, but Guy looked just like him! Then he had to hold back a laugh at imagining his twin wearing something like that.

This picture was moving, though. Riki was chained to a pole, arms above his head. An unknown voice told him to hold still, and the mongrel thrashed around, trying to fight. Iason appeared in the hologram, trying to calm the man down, but failing. Finally he just moved to remove the chains from his wrists. As soon as Riki was free, he twisted out of Iason's grip and moved to fight him. Of course he was subdued and the twins watched as their father dragged their mother off of the stage in the hologram. Then another scene came up. Riki was on a stage with other pets. This time he looked calmer, more trained. He moved forward, and another pet tripped him, causing the man to fall on his face. Laughter sounded in the unseen crowd until Riki jumped up and punched the other pet in the face. Now Guy almost felt proud as he saw his mother take on 6 or 7 men. Of course they were only pets, but it was good to see that the mongrel still fought.

Now the biography showed them together and explained how Riki wasn't taken out in public anymore. Then the mongrel disappeared altogether for about a week- there were rumors that Iason had set him free. Those rumors were quashed when the mongrel showed up in the hospital's intensive care unit. The holograph showed a scene of Iason walking out of the hospital. The camera that was recording it rushed closer to the Blondie. "Sir Mink!" The reporter who was holding the camera's voice sounded. "Can you tell us what happened to your pet? Is it true that you're purchasing a new one now that your Riki is damaged?" Iason stared at the camera for a split second before he wrenched it from the other's grip and broke it.

"Yes, from that point on, Iason was very protective of his pet. And his performance at work was slipping terribly. He even neglected to show for days on end. Riki was forbidden from leaving the house, so says the resident Furniture, Daryl. But a few months later, in the harvest season of year 198, Iason was forced by Jupiter's secret police to separate from his pet. Riki was presumed dead, and Iason was sentenced to have his mind erased. This confirmed the rumors throughout Eos that Iason was illegally pairing with his pet."

The twins knew what was coming next. "It was also confirmed that Riki bore two sons, Guy and Rion, the same day that he was left for dead in the slums of Ceres. But unfortunately, we know nothing of the three until five years later, just before Riki and Iason planned their attack. During this time, Iason worked diligently, turning Jupiter back into the well oiled machine that she was. The economy flourished, education was provided to all of the children, and jobs were available to every elite. Nobody had complaints at this time but for the Mongrels in Ceres. In year 203, Riki was seen going into Tanagura Tower. Rumors started anew that they had become a couple, however these rumors were hushed. Iason was well loved before his mind was erased, and afterwards he was rather ruthless. Many wanted to see him return to the caring man that he was, especially his close friends.

"However, they were not so lucky. The two tried to escape the planet with their sons and Iason's furniture, Daryl. But Jupiter's secret police suspected the plot and caught up with them in the airport." A grainy security camera's footage of the pair running from a group of men was shown. "And until the attack on Jupiter several weeks later, they remained hidden. Both Riki and Iason are immortalized as heroes for the entire planet. Because of them, we are now free to rule ourselves instead of taking orders from the supercomputer. There are no secret police, citizenship for everybody and the planet still flourishes." While the voice spoke, it showed the video feed of cameras in the building as it exploded. Rion's hand shot out and grabbed Guy's as they watched the two running around, trying to find a way out and failing. Then they watched as Iason ripped the door to a chute off and motioned for Riki to get inside. The mongrel shook his head, and it was obvious that the two were shouting at each other, even though there was no sound. Iason slapped Riki and tried to push him towards the chute. Riki refused and instead turned to kiss the Blondie. Then the camera fizzed out. After that, the hologram went back to showing a still frame of the two kissing, enlarging the two so that they were seen more clearly.

"Not only were Iason and Riki the heroes of our planet, they were inspiration for young lovers around the planet. Their story gave strength to those who paired with others while being forbidden under Jupiter's laws. Not only did they work as a team to save everybody, they now represent love in our society. Statues of them were put in every political office in the planet. However, there is also a likeness of them in the Moonlight Garden in Tanagura. Lovers from all over make a pilgrimage to this statue to kiss, believing it will give them luck. Yes, the two had left behind a legacy that could be enjoyed by everybody." The documentary ended, and there was applause. Guy and Rion were holding hands, but they let go to give the video a standing ovation.

The rest of the night seemed to pass in a blur. The two had never heard the full story of their parents, so this was quite the night for them. The director of the film came up to the stage before they left and presented each with a copy, shaking hands and posing for the cameras. And both twins knew that they would end up watching it again sometime soon.

At the end of the night, Rion and Guy left the building. The steps and street were empty now, save for the car. They were planning on going home and just being together for the first real time in months. But Raoul came rushing after the two.

"Rion!" He shouted, getting the young man's attention and making him turn around. "I'm glad I caught you. I wanted to invite you back to my home." His voice was slightly husky with desire, and he reached out to touch Rion's cheek. Guy seethed with anger. "Please, my sweet? Just for a glass of wine… perhaps a little more?"

Rion took a step back, bowing slightly and shaking his head. "Forgive me, Sir Am, but I must refuse your offer. At this point, I simply wish to return home and relax." Guy rolled his eyes. He hated when two Blondies got together, they couldn't talk normal.

But Raoul wasn't having any refusal. "Come now. I can't extend this invitation very often." He looked over at Guy, then realized he didn't care if he said anything in front of him. "Besides, I've been missing you terribly. Since that night, I've ached to have you in my bed again."

And the man was going to say something else, but it was lost as Guy punched him in the side of the head. Raoul was taken unawares, so he fell over, surprised. "You asshole! He can't go home with you, and he wouldn't want anything to do with your little prick anyways!"

Rion turned and clapped a hand over Guy's mouth. "We're leaving." He said, turning the twin and pushing him towards the car.

Raoul stood straight and glared at the dark haired boy. "Don't tell me that you're jealous. Jealous that I got to your brother before you could?" Rion squeaked and blushed a dark red. Guy took the opportunity to wrench himself away from his brother and lunge at the other man. Unfortunately for him, Rion's reflexes were good and he caught the young man's arm, dragging him back towards the car. Didn't mean that his insults stopped, however.

"You Blondie bastard! If you ever go near my brother again, I'm gonna fucking cut your dick off, you got me? In fact, if I see you again, then I'm not going easy on you! I'll just break your damn jaw and we'll see if you can still have a shit eating grin!"

Rion pushed him into the car and shut the door, stopping the mongrel like behavior. Guy suddenly groaned.

"Shit… I hate that fucking guy so damn much. I swear I'm really gonna kill him if he goes near you aga-mmph!" He was cut off as the Blondie launched himself at his twin and kissed him hard. Being defended like that, especially when he was as emotionally weak as he was after seeing the documentary, reminded him why he loved his brother in the first place.

That night, they slept in the same bed. Halfway through the night, Guy started to kiss Rion's naked shoulder. It woke the Blondie up and they gave each other lazy, sleepy kisses for a long time. Then they made love, truly made love. Rion was nervous, but Guy let him be on top this time, a silent apology for what he did. It was gentle, it was slow, and they kept eye contact the entire time. When it was over, they came at the same time and clung to each other for dear life. Kisses were shared again afterwards and they drifted back into a much better sleep.

Yes, things were going to be fine between them. If only things with Raoul could be resolved as easily.
