"You said you came here playing hide and seek with your sister, what\'s her name?" he asked.
"Kahiri," I said.
"Here\'s your clue," he said handing me a bright blue piece of paper.
"Thanks Haru. I completely forgot about it until now," I said taking the folded paper.
"I guess it really didn\'t matter when I gave it to you. As soon as you got it you\'d leave. It\'s better I give it to you now so that I can\'t get too attached. Go ahead and leave," Haru said.
"Haru . . . I . . . I can always come back. I thought you were fine with me staying for a while," I said truly hurt.
"I was fine with it, but that was before I noticed the way Kyo & Yuki look at you. Don\'t think I haven\'t noticed that they are way more attractive than me. I think it would be better if you left," he said.
"If you wanted me gone that bad all you had to do is say something. I\'ll leave. Good-bye and good riddance," I said stalking out the front door.
"Kihara! Get back here!" Dad yelled.
"I don\'t listen to orders!" I called back making my way to the woods behind the garden behind Akito\'s room as fast as possible.
"Please wait for me," he called.
"Fine," I muttered, stopping as I jumped on top of the outer wall of the Sohma estate.
“Kihara . . . what’s wrong?” he asked.
“Nothing, I’m just done stalling around at Shigure’s,” I said.
“Where are we going then?” he asked.
“I don’t know, but I hear a violin and I think I know who’s playing it,” I said, and started following the sound.
I found myself watching Momiji play the violin in his backyard.
“Hey! Are you the one I saw walking out of here with Haru the other day?” Momiji asked as he spotted me watching.
“Yeah, I walked with him to Shigure’s,” I said not really wanting to talk about Haru anymore.
“Then you know about the curse and I can hug you!” he said and leaped at me.
I really wasn’t surprised that he didn’t change, and it took all I had not to laugh at the look on his face when he realized that he didn’t change.
“How did you do that?” he asked.
“I haven’t fully figured that one out,” I said.
“Does Akito know that we don’t transform when we hug you?” he asked.
“I don’t think so, and I don’t really want him to,” I said.
“No worries I won’t say a word. Can I try something?” he asked looking hopeful.
“Sure,” I said not letting on how hopeful I was.
“Close your eyes and stay still . . . please,” he said.
I did as he asked only after he said please. I felt his hand caress my cheek and leaned into his hand. Then I felt his lips on mine in a very passionate kiss. For as hyper and energetic he is, he’s a really good kisser. I snaked my arms around his neck as he placed his around my waist.
I was saved from rejecting his begging tongue as Dad cleared his throat, meaning that he’d seen enough.
“Sorry Dad,” I said as we parted.
“As long as you don’t go any further you’re fine,” he said.
“That’s okay we have to go anyway don’t we,” I said hinting that we should get going before Momiji tried to go any further.
“Yes, we have places to be and people to see,” he said taking me by the arm to lead me away from Momiji.
“Bye Momiji!” I called waving over my shoulder to him.
“Bye!” he called.
Dad and I wondered around and soon, found ourselves outside Kureno’s house. I walked up to the door and was just about to knock when Kureno opened the door.
“Well hello,” he said, “You two must be the two that Akito was talking about yesterday?”
“Yes, I’m Kihara and this is my dad Kiato Kyuseishu,” I said bowing.
“Well . . . you seem more polite than I was expecting,” he said surprised.
“I’m polite to those who have earned it,” I said.
“I see so you don’t think Akito has earned your politeness?” he asked.
“Nope all he did was order me around and I don’t respond to orders well. I have a question,” I said.
“What’s that?” he asked.
“You are supposed to be cursed with the spirit of the rooster right?” I asked and he nodded, “But your curse was broken long ago wasn’t it?”
“How do you know that?” he asked.
“I just do. Anyway, do you have any clue as to why it was broken?” I asked.
“The only way the curse can be broken is if the cat falls in love with someone who loves them in return,” he said, “Just don’t let Akito know I told you that.”
“Don’t tell anyone but . . . everyone will be free soon,” I whispered into his ear.
“How do you know that?” he asked.
“Just trust me,” I said and pulled away after giving him a kiss on the cheek and running off toward the woods.
I opened the clue after finding the sakura tree.
note (07)
“Great here we go back to the world of Inuyasha,” I said hoping against hope that we didn’t run into Koga.
I thought of Sesshomaru and his group and in a flash of light I found myself in the middle of a meadow.
“So . . . where are we exactly?” Dad asked looking around the meadow.
“I don’t honestly know,” I said also looking around.
Suddenly I spotted a white speck flying through the air with a brown speck following it.
“I think that’s Sesshomaru!” I yelled excitedly.
I quickly opened my wings and took to the air.
“Kihara! Get back here!” Dad yelled.
I ignored him and started flying toward Sesshomaru, when out of nowhere an old guy on a cow popped up in front of me.
