Desperation

"Lost everything...havn't you, Gojun? Your precious army...and your precious Tenpou. Fufufu."

"I don't know what you're talking about, Li Touten-sama."

"He belongs to your general, you know. If you had made a move sooner...maybe you could have saved your army and your love."

"Another sake on the rocks."

I had half of it gone in an instant. I've lost track now of just how many of these I've had, but...the numbers can't be good. Normally, I wouldn't let myself do this.

Of course, today was a special case.

"Gojun? Ahh, sir?"

I glanced over, knowing exactly who it was. Only one person would call my name so carelessly, quickly covering his mistake with a "sir". Heh, they thought I'd never teach him any respect...this is more than he ever did in the eastern division.

"What is it, General Kenren?" I'm sure he must have heard the slight slur...even I could hear it clearly, making my speech a little harder to interpret.

He smiled nervously at me, shifting slightly. I frowned, nodding for him to go on. "Was just wondering why you're drinking so much..." He raised an eyebrow disrespectfully at me.

"Hn...I think I can handle myself, General."

He nodded, with his lips thinned slightly, as if I was making a bad choice of some sort.

"What?" I was getting pretty testy at this point. "Don't worry, General, I was going home soon, anyways."

"Maybe I could walk you home?" He cocked his head...it looked rather mocking to me. I glared and refused, but that man wouldn't let me alone, so I finally accepted walking at least part of the way with him.

"Okay, you can leave me be now."

I frowned at him slightly. No way could he possibly make it home in a state like that. He couldn't even walk straight, he'd wake up in the bushes or something. "Nah, it's fine, I may as well take you the rest of the way."

A glare, as if I had suggested that he rip off all his scales. "This is your home, you just go on. I'm sure I can handle myself."

Now, I've never been one to go against the will of someone who looked ready to kill. So I left. Why'd I even bother to try and help him, anyway? He reminds me of a certain blonde I know sometimes...You try to help someone and you only get in trouble, geez...

What was that?

I stood shock still, barely daring to breathe...I knew I heard something...

Nothing.

I continued walking again, my musings on the dragon king continuing.

But there it was again. Again, I dared not move.

This time I heard it. Clear as day. Several voices, though I couldn't make out what they were saying. There were three that sounded mocking...and...one...

Gojun!

"Well, well, what have we here?"

"Looks like a widdle dwunken dwagon out for a stroll."

"Didn't your mother ever tell you that drinking is dangerous?"

What now?! I turned around, to face three men that had been dismissed from the army on my orders years ago. No...one of them I didn't know. "What is it?" I was not in the mood to argue with those men again.

"What are you doing all alone so late at night, hm?" He snickered. "Sir?"

"I doubt that's any of your--!" I gasped as I felt a strong grip on my shoulders. Turning my head, I realized that this was the man I was unable to identify, and I tried to pull away from his grip.

But the second I fell forward, one of the others caught me again.

A bitter, cruel laugh issued from the one holding me now. "Not quite so strong now, eh?"

As much as I would have liked to retort...I feared he was right. In my state, I could barely walk, let alone ward off three different men at the same time. But I still tried. I aimed a kick straight for where I knew it would hurt.

Alas, the third man caught my leg. The one holding me let go, and I over-balanced and fell on my back, my ankle still grasped in someone's hand. I kicked desperately to try and reclaim my foot, but before I knew it, one of them was sitting on mps. ps. I knew they were talking, but I could no longer make out any words. The unidentified one caught my arms in his grip and held them above my head as the one on top of me leaned close enough so I could've stuck out my tongue and licked him.

And then I realized what was happening.

But before I could formulate a proper defense, or even completely understand my situation, all three men were running away, one limping, all looking hurt.

What had happened?

But as a hand reached down to help me up, I had it figured out. I grabbed the hand, accepting his help without protest this time.

Maybe he wasn't so bad.

"Hm...I can see why you were drinking tonight." I glanced at Gojun sympathetically, with a reborn dislike for Li Touten.

He was staring forlornly into a glass of water I had poured for him. "Heh. My position means nothing anymore, thanks to that man."

Something bothered me though. Something I simply had to find out.

"Who was it that you loved, Gojun?"

The look he gave me...I couldn't figure out what he was thinking.

"Nevermind, General. He made his point quite clear. That being that I, myself, will never find happiness in anything I do again."

I was suddenly overcome with this...strong temptation. I looked at Gojun, gnawing on my lip for about a minute before finally speaking up. "Well...you could always prove him wrong."

What started out as a few light kisses had turned into a firey desperation for the other. Clothes were torn off impatiently and abandoned, lips attacked lips, hands grippped onto anything worth gripping...

Kenren had never seen someone so desperate to be touched, someone so desperate to be loved...every sound that issued from Gojun rang clearly and loudly with a need that couldn't seem to be satisfied. All of the dragon king's normal compusure disappeared among cries asking for more, and a passion that not even the general could completely satiate.

Kenren expected his superior to go through some amount of pain when he pushed himself slowly into him, but Gojun made no sign of discomfort, only seeming to want it more. After only a few moments, they were slamming against each other, and after only seconds it seemed, it was all over.

They both lay there for quite some time, Gojun still making small pleading sounds, Kenren sweaty and exhausted from his efforts. When the general finally did take himself from the other, the action was met with a weak protest, which he soothed with a deep kiss.

Shortly after, both tired from the long night, they fell asleep, Gojun cradling himself into Kenren's arms.

Li Touten-sama had said that I lost Tenpou. Lost him to the general. He wanted me to believe that I would never find happiness again, with his burning hatred for anyone high in stature. He had me convinced that Kenren had stolen something away from me.

The truth was quite the opposite.

Kenren gave me more than I could have ever wished for. He told Tenpou, of course, he had to. But it didn't turn out that bad.

I'm sure you've heard the expression "Two's company, three's a crowd"...

Turns out Tenpou and Kenren like a crowd.

And so do I.
