Sickness Befalls
Disastrous Senshi
\"HARMONIC QUAKE!\"
\"JUPITER STAR FREEZING!\"
\"MAKO-CHAN!\" all said in unison.
The two attacks cancel each other as Makoto looks on at her opponent. Her attention then turns to her friends. Why was she the only one fighting?
\"Come on, guys. Transform and…\" she stopped as she heard \"HARMONIC WAVE ARROWS,\" which pierced her back and exited her chest.
Falling to the ground, the last thing she saw before dying was a smile of evil on everyone\'s lips.

Sitting up quickly, Mako started to gasp. She looked around the room, taking in all the settings. Suddenly, she felt an arm grab her and pull her back to the bed.
She sighed and lay back down as she looked up at the ceiling of the room. Slowly she slunk back to sleep, turning over and placing her hand on the chest of her husband and her head under his chin.
\"What was wrong, sweetheart?\"
\"A bad dream.\" She said, smiling to be in the arms of her one and only love. \"Nothing important, Nephrite,\" she sighed again and fell asleep.
He held her close as she fell back to sleep. The two bodies holding on to each other were relaxed and Nephrite would not let Mako sleep. He started kissing her forehead, which caused Mako to kiss him in return. His fingers slowly traced her spine and it traveled from her neck to the small of her back.
Sleepily, Mako makes a soft moan and then speaks.
\"Where are the children?\"
\"They are at my mother\'s house. Remember? We told her we were going to take a much needed honeymoon,\" Nephrite said, smiling, his finger still tracing the length of her spine.
A sudden stop of his fingers brought Mako\'s eyes open. \"What\'s wrong, sweetie,\" she asked snuggling up closer to him.
\"Oh, nothing. I hope I was right in telling her a lie.\"
\"Oh, I\'m sure she won\'t mind,\" Mako said, pulling him closer as she began to kiss him passionately. She stopped and looked in his eyes. \"Did you take all of the kids?\"
Nephrite nodded. Mako looked at him seriously.
\"Are you sure? Did you make sure you took Saffron?\"
Nephrite looked at Makoto as though he tried to remember if he had taken the baby or not. When he had looked as though he had finished processing the information, he nodded but a baby\'s cry heard from the adjoining room. The couple sighed and Mako began to sit up.
\"No, Makoto. You sleep. I\'ll take care of Saff.\"
Mako raised an eyebrow at her husband. \"Are you sure?\"
Nephrite nodded and smiled. \"I\'m positive. You rest and sleep well.\"
He kissed her forehead, got out of bed and went to calm down Saffron.
Makoto just lay back down and looked after him as he left the room, a smile on his face. Suddenly his head peeped back into the room.
\"Forget something?\"
\"Uh, yeah I did forget about the milk. Where do we keep it?\"
Mako smiled and giggled. \"Do you want me to take care of Saffron?\"
Nephrite nodded. Mako got up, walked to Nephrite, and gave him a kiss as she touched his strong stomach. He followed her as she went to pick up Saffron.
Mako played a little with the beautiful redheaded child as her giggles brought a smile to both her parent\'s faces. Mako had sat in the chair in the room that was next to the crib and placed the girl in a rocking position as she lifted up her shirt and warmed up her nipple, allowing the baby to start feeding. Mako looked at Nephrite.
\"You are a wonderful mother, you know that, Makoto?\" Nephrite told her.
\"And you are a wonderful father, Nephrite,\" she said, their lips touching.
A few moments later, the two look at their daughter and smile as Makoto gets up and places her back in her crib. Saffron just turned over a couple times and went back to sleep, her soft cooing soothing her parents\' worry.
Then Nephrite and Makoto go back to bed and snuggle up to each other, Mako\'s arms going around Neph\'s waist. As they went back to sleep, Mako sunk into yet another heartless dream.
\"USAGI-CHAN!\" Mako screamed as she saw her friend fall into a blackness that was so deep, that she could only see the outline of her body for her features had completely dissipated.
\"USAGI-CHAN! Mada nai!! USAGI-CHAN!\" Mako screamed as she sat up yet again, this time Nephrite was standing at the foot of the bed.
He walked over to her side of the bed and looked at her with concern.
\"Are you alright, Mako?\" he asked her. He felt her forehead, but did not feel any temperature because she was sweating terribly.
\"I\'m fine, Nephrite. I promise,\" she said smiling as she got out of the bed, but once her feet touched the floor, she collapsed.
Nephrite ran over to her and picked her up. She was burning hot and he could feel it through her clothes.
\"I\'m taking Saffron to my mother\'s house. You, sweetheart, are going to the hospital. You are not well,\" he said.
Mako could not respond because her temperature was so high that she had passed out and fell limp in his arms. He placed her in the bed and went to the phone. He dialed some numbers and waited a few moments until there was someone on the other side of the line. He chatted a few minutes with the person before announcing that he would be over there in a few minutes. The other person acknowledged his statement and he had hung up the phone. He walked over to the closet, picked something out for Makoto to wear, and dressed her. Thankfully, Saffron was still asleep during all this commotion, so Nephrite did not have to deal with a screaming baby.
After he got Mako dressed, he went to get Saffron dressed and placed Mako in the living room on the couch as he got Saffron from her crib. He had to put Saff in the car seat, get Mako to the car, get Saffron\'s bag ready with diapers and such, put the car seat in the car and then get in himself. After he had done all he had to do, Nephrite got in on his side of the car, started it, drove off, and dropped Saff off at his mother\'s house.
When he had honked, a woman around the age of 50 came out of the house and looked concerned. She walked quickly over to the car and stopped at the driver side of the vehicle.
\"What\'s wrong, Nephrite?\" she asked.
\"It\'s Makoto. Something is not right with her and she will not tell what is wrong with her. She needs to get to the hospital. Can you let Father know that he will have to call on Jadeite or someone else?\"
\"Sure. No problem, Nephrite. Consider it done. Just take care of my daughter-in-law.\"
\"She will get the finest care available. Oh, and Saffron\'s milk should be in there. You will not need to heat it up. It is natural milk,\" Nephrite said, a little embarrassed.
His mom smiled at him. \"Yes, I know. Makoto told me that she was breastfeeding.\"
Nephrite smiled as he took Saff out of the car seat and gave her to his mom and her bag. \"Be careful with her, please. She\'s very tender,\" he warned.
His mother giggled. \"Nephrite. I\'ve raised 4 children of my own. I think I know how to hold and take care of a baby.\"
\"Okay. I\'ll see you, Father, the kids, and the other 3 way-ward children of yours tonight at dinner?\"
\"Yes. Like always, dinner will be served at 7 p.m. sharp. Let me know how Mako fares. It\'s not good when she gets sick.\"
\"I will. See you later. Bye Saffron,\" he said as he kissed his daughter\'s forehead and got back in the car.
His mother was waving when he drove off and she walked back in the house. When she returned inside, she was greeted by two other faces.
\"What\'s wrong with mommy,\" a girl with brown hair and green eyes questioned.
\"Mommy\'s sick. Daddy\'s taking her to the hospital to get better,\" the woman explained.
The blonde boy next to the girl said, \"Maybe she went to get another kid. That\'s what happened the last time she went to the hospital.\"
This completely caught Kyoko off guard. She ended up laughing.
\"No, Will. Last time she had a fat tummy. Now, she\'s just mommy. She can\'t be getting a new baby. We have Saffy,\" she said, lovingly looking at her little sister in her grandmother\'s arms.
\"That\'s right, Raven. You\'re not getting a new baby. Mommy is just sick. She will be better soon, I promise,\" Kyoko said, smiling at the twins.

In the car, Nephrite is desperately trying to get Makoto to wake up, but no avail. The woman was out and he had to keep his eyes on the road. He decided he would talk to her.
\"You know, Mako. You are a horrible liar. You really should stop taking on so much work. It\'s going to kill you one day,\" he said, trying to keep the tears at bay.
Mako didn\'t move except to point her face towards the sunlight that was streaming in the passenger side window. She heard everything that Nephrite was saying but decided she would keep her comment to herself.
Nephrite had given up on Mako so he kept his attention on the road as he drove along silently. He had given her several glimpses, each time her face becoming more and more pale. This was quite unusual for her because she had hardly become sick. Even after Will and Raven were born, she had never been sick.
\"Woman, you are so lucky that I love you,\" he complained as he sped towards the hospital.
Once there, he parked the car, went over to Mako\'s side, pulled her gently out of the car, shut the door and carried her inside.
\"Lady Jupiter,\" a nurse had cried as she rushed over to Nephrite while an orderly retrieved a gurney.
\"I won\'t tell her that you called her that,\" he said smiling.
\"What happened to her,\" the nurse asked.
\"Well, she was having those bad nightmares again. You know that battle that she had lost. Those memories are coming back to her,\" he explained.
\"Well, that\'s probably part of the problem. Has she been feeding Saffron like instructed,\" she asked.
\"No. She won\'t bottle-feed. She insists on breast-feeding. But, what does that have to do with how she feels now? She\'s sick and I want my wife back to normal,\" he said.
\"We\'ll get Dr. Hoseki here soon. She just left for home, but hopefully we can get her before she is able to do anything else,\" the nurse said as she wheeled Mako into an empty room.

Darkness crept over Tokyo. Makoto was walking down Rainbow Street Bridge as she felt a damp hand land on her shoulder. She grabbed it, twisted it, and flipped the person it belonged to. When she got a good look at the one it belonged to, she began to blush.
\"Oh, I\'m so sorry, Nephrite. I thought you were someone else,\" she said as she helped him up from the hard ground.
The dark-haired man just smiled at the girl.
\"That\'s okay, Makoto. I should know better than to walk up behind the Senshi of Thunder,\" he smirked as he stood.
He dusted himself off and smiled at her. She returned his smile as he extended his hand to her.
\"Well, I better be off. I have much to do before morning,\" she said as she shook his hand.
\"If you would like, I could walk you home. Jupiter or not, you should not be out here by yourself. I\'m sure that Serenity would agree with me,\" he winked at her.
Feeling herself blush, she smiled at him once more. He held his arm out for her as he waited on her answer to his offer.
She took his arm as she placed her hand on the inside of his elbow. He took her bag from her and carried it in his other hand as the two began to stroll across the bridge and down various streets. Mako could hear the comments that others were making about them as they passed by.
\"Sugoi! They make such a wonderful couple. I wonder if Lady Jupiter will be accepting of this matching?\" many had commented.
\"Don\'t worry about what others say,\" Nephrite had whispered.
\"Huh,\" she asked as he had caught her off her guard.
\"I\'m sure that you\'re mother wouldn\'t mind her daughter being escorted home with one of the most respected men of King Endymion\'s son\'s army,\" he said as she looked up at him.
She nodded as her face finally returned to its normal state. He had pulled her closer to him as he hugged her.
\"Well, King Endymion has chosen well for his son\'s Guard. I cannot think of anyone more fit for the office or rank of General,\" she spoke.
\"She speaks!\"
\"What do you mean,\" she asked.
\"You have been nothing but quiet. I was wondering what was going on with you. A gentleman am I that accepts a quality compliment from such a wonderful woman,\" he spoke gently.
\"Well, if you are such this formal with compliments, how are you with dinner invitations,\" she asked cocking an eyebrow.
\"I humbly accept any invitation from those who I am sworn to protect. If you are to choose the day, please inform me when you get the details worked out,\" he joked about the last part.
\"Well, I was hoping you would come tonight. I just finished my shopping when you walked up behind me,\" she said smiling, her voice set.
\"I said I was sorry,\" he said as he sighed and kissed her hand. \"But the real question is will your parents be okay with me and you having dinner together,\" he asked.
\"I\'m sure they won\'t mind. Out of the four, they like you the best,\" she said smiling.
\"Oh, well in that case, I would be most honored to dine with the Kino family this evening,\" he smiled as he winked at her.
Suddenly, she stopped. He looked worriedly at her.
\"What\'s wrong?\"
\"We\'re here. This is my home,\" she said smiling.
\"Oh. But I thought all the Royals were to have a small flag waving in their backyard with the color of their tiara jewel,\" he responded.
\"This is my home. My parents live in another house. They are the ones with the required flag. They gave me permission to live alone until I was ready for the duties that go with being a Queen,\" she confessed.
\"Oh, a little flying from the coop,\" he asked.
\"Yeah, I guess you could say that,\" she giggled as she unlocked the door.
He held it open for her and she walked in the home first. He shut the door after he had entered the abode as she walked to the kitchen. She had placed the bag she had on the counter as she took her apron and began to cook dinner.
\"You can sit at the counter and watch, if you would like,\" she said with a small blush.
\"Wow, Mako-chan. You\'re home is incomparably clean,\" he stated as he sat at the counter.
Mako chuckled.
\"Well, if that\'s the only compliment I get from you tonight, then I\'m not sure my parents are so totally truthful to themselves,\" she joked.
Nephrite\'s face fell. He had hoped that Mako would be one of difference, but it seemed that she was like all the others.
\"Oh, what\'s wrong, Nephrite,\" she asked as he noticed the look on his face.
\"Oh, it\'s nothing really important, Makoto,\" he said.
\"Now, I know that something is wrong. You never call me Makoto. Was it something I said,\" she asked genuinely upset.
\"Well, I\'m probably not the most competent of the four Hoseki children, but I do like to take care of my friends,\" he said.
\"Oh,\" she said as her face fell. \"I\'m a friend,\" she asked, her tone remaining the same as before.
\"No, Mako, you aren\'t a friend,\" he stated.
\"Okay, now I\'m confused,\" she said as her face became screwed up.
\"You\'re not a friend, Makoto Kino. Ami, Minako, Rei, Serenity, they are friends. I don\'t think of you as a friend,\" he said.
Mako had stopped cooking as she stepped to the counter and leaned over it.
\"Oh, you don\'t consider me a friend? Then what am I?\"
\"Someone who is very special to me,\" was his only answer as he blushed.
\"What\'s this,\" Mako cried out in surprise. \"Nephrite Hoseki is blushing!\"
She smiled and laughed, her voice rang like a bell.
\"You can\'t expect me to be all normal flesh, can you,\" he asked as he smiled back at her.
\"Well, you\'ve never blushed around me,\" she replied.
\"Then that should tell you something,\" he said as he smelled the aroma that came from her kitchen. \"That smells delicious,\" he commented.
\"Well, that\'s two compliments. I take it you\'re starving,\" she asked.
\"Only a little,\" he said motioning a small portion with his index and thumb.
\"Well, give me a minute or two and I\'ll have everything fixed and we can eat,\" she said.
As she completed the preparation of the dinner, she placed everything they needed to eat at the table in the living room and sat across from each other. They smiled as she allowed him to take his first bite. He fanned his mouth and she chuckled.
\"Oh, I\'m sorry. I didn\'t realize that it was so hot. I can get you some water, if you\'d like,\" she offered.
\"Oh no, it\'s not hot at all. Just a little spicy is all,\" he finally said after taking a few moments to catch his breath.
\"It was a new recipe my mother had given me. She said it was how her and my father met,\" she replied, blushing a bit.
\"Then I take it, your mother was also such a wonderful cook?\"
\"Oh, no. Mother is a horrible cook. She was working in a restaurant under a different name until Grandfather found her and commanded her to come home. She tried her best to cook, but her first and last meal that she made almost cost my father his life. He choked on a huge piece of beef,\" she said, giggling.
Nephrite was laughing with her as she told the story. \"Well, that was funny. I never dreamt that the Queen of Jupiter could be so down-looked upon by her only child,\" he said.
\"I didn\'t say I don\'t love Mother. She just can\'t cook. I learned from Grandmother on Father\'s side. She could cook just about anything from scratch,\" Makoto had confessed.
\"Well, did she teach you everything?\"
\"Yes, she taught me everything I know,\" she said, bowing her head in small nervousness.
\"Well, I would tell Kino-sobo that she has taught you well,\" he complimented as he reached across the table and picked Mako\'s face to meet his smiling eyes.
She couldn\'t react and she ended up smiling through her tears of happiness.
\'He\'s so nice. My parents finally chose the perfect one,\' she thought as she watched him eat, barely even touching her food.
\"Mako-chan,\" he said, pulling the woman from her thoughts. \"Are you not hungry? I hate to eat alone,\" he said.
Mako smiled and began to eat once more. The two kept looking at each other as they ate. Not too long after they had finished talking, the two adults had finished eating and were sitting at the table.
\"Well, thank you, Nephrite, for being such a wonderful guest,\" she said as she stood.
Nephrite took her hand and smiled. \"Mako, I should thank you for inviting me to have dinner with you. It was wonderful and I enjoyed the company you\'ve been for me tonight. I must admit. I was on my way to a friend\'s house, but when I saw you, I thought that you needed me more than he did,\" he lied.
\"Really? I heard earlier that you were going for a bet,\" she said.
\"Well, Jadeite put money on the table, but I don\'t really care about that. I\'m just glad you invited me and I accepted. Your food is quite exceptional and Jadeite can\'t pay me all the money in the universe to go out with you,\" he said.
Mako wasn\'t paying much attention to Nephrite\'s small monologue until he mentioned dating. She snapped her attention to him quickly and opened her mouth a little.
The memory faded out of her mind as she slowly moved her body in response to the lowering temperature. Nephrite was sitting in a chair next to the bed. It had been a few days since he had brought Makoto to the hospital and he had lost quite a bit of work over it, but work was nothing compared to the life of his wife. He sat still as he opened his eyes and rubbed them when the bright light shone in through the windows. He watched her squirm a bit, but then her body went back to limp as she fell into yet another memory dream. He sighed as he watched her continue sleeping.
\"What a great time this is turning out to be,\" he complained silently.
Ami walked in the room wearing casual clothing. Nephrite stood as she entered the room and walked over to her friend\'s bed. The two hug.
\"How\'s she doing,\" Ami asked.
\"Not really my field, Ami,\" he said as she smiled.
\"Well, she\'s not supposed to be my patient.\"
\"Why is that,\" he asked.
\"Hospital policy dictates that a nurse or doctor is not allowed to take care of family. We\'re sisters, so that\'s why she\'s not supposed to be my patient. But, it took a lot of negotiating. I took a look at her x-rays before I left yesterday. Everything is doing fine and there\'s nothing blocking the veins and arteries in her brain. I\'m not sure what\'s driving her body to react in this way,\" she said as Mako began to gasp again.
Ami softly touched the woman\'s shoulder and she slowed her breathing as she raised her hand to touch Ami\'s and the woman fell back into her memories. Nephrite watched the two ladies and stared in awe as he watched his wife withdraw from her lessened air just by her sister\'s touch.
\"How did you do that?\"
\"I don\'t know. A soft touch is what everyone needs every once in a while. Don\'t worry. I have given specific instructions for someone to come in every hour and see if she needs to be calmed down.\"

Mako stared into the darkened night and felt strangely like she had been in the place before. She walked around without bumping into much. Soon, she had been able to see the bridge she was standing on and every one of her friends. Neo Queen Serenity in front of her, Eli, and Angel. She stared at the scene as she saw that Rei was holding her back and she saw a woman clad almost completely in black stand behind Angel and Eli. As soon as they lost their Star Seeds, they fell back and the woman standing behind them knelt next to their heads and began to chant. She sat and watched this continue on for quite some time until she realized who it was that was at the head of her daughter.
\"DISCORDIA!\" she called out as the Senshi stared at her.
Rei looked at Mako. \"Discordia? Who\'s she?\"
Rei\'s future self smiled at Rei and frowned at Makoto. \"Discordia is your future daughter. She fights well. You will not see her fight because the need for her is not yet come,\" Queen Mars spoke.
Mako became angered. \"She will not be the one who survives,\" Mako said as she fell to her knees.
* * *
\"Makoto!\" Everyone said together.
\"Hey guys. What\'s wrong transform and…\" she stopped when a Harmonic Wave pierced her back and went through her chest, spilling blood down her chest as it began to sputter out of her mouth.
The last thing that Minako saw happening that brought chills to her spine was the evil smiles on her friend\'s\' faces, including her own as Makoto died.
Minako stood next to the edge of the building, seeing her friend being murdered by the other Sailor Scouts. She couldn\'t believe what she was seeing.
\"What\'s going on?\" she said closing her eyes, wishing that it wasn\'t real.
She counted to ten and opened them. When she did she saw that everything was gone; the building, the scouts and Makoto\'s body; all were gone.
She only saw complete darkness closing in on her. She felt like she in a black hole. And the worst thing is that she knows that she wasn\'t alone. She felt that someone or something was watching her. This feeling suddenly caused a chill to run down her spine. She shivered and hugged herself.
She started to move forward when she thought that she heard a girl\'s laugh to her right and something moving in the corner of her eye. But when she looked there wasn\'t anything there.
\"What\'s going on? This has to be a dream! Hey is anyone there. Makoto, Rei, Ami, anyone. Is that you guys?\" she asked, looking around but there still wasn\'t anyone there.
Still she couldn\'t shake the feeling she had in her gut. She knows there was someone here and she was going to find them.
\"Who said that this is a dream? This isn\'t a dream. This is your worst nightmare and my pleasure.\" An angry voice shouted out of nowhere.
Minako jumped and turned around. But she couldn\'t see anyone. \"Who said that?\"
\"Well I believe that it was me, you baka blonde. Welcome to my home.\"
\"Hey who are you calling a stupid blonde!! What, this dreary place is your home??\"
\"Oh, you don\'t like it? My home is people\'s despair and unhappiness. So the question is what darkness is in your heart. And it looks like you are alone here. Poor Minako.\"
\"Who are you? I can\'t see you.\"
The girl chuckled lightly, \"If you saw who I was then it would defeat my purpose and ruin my plans, wouldn\'t it; Sailor Venus.\"
You know me?\" Minako said looking confused that this stranger knew her.
\"Oh yeah, I know everything about you and your precious friends,\" the girl said her voice dripping with venom.
\"How could you know us when I don\'t even know who you are? You haven\'t even shown your face.\"
A hand suddenly appeared and slapped Minako across her face.
\"You silly Sailor Scout. You know me. You know me very well. But I won\'t allow you to see my real face until I am ready for you to see it. Plus seeing isn\'t everything.\"
\"Hey,\" Minako said, touching her sore cheek. \"That wasn\'t fair slapping someone when they can\'t see you.\"
\"Okay,\" the girl said. This time a fist appeared and connected with her face, knocking her off her feet.
Minako groaned, picking herself off the floor. \"Hey I getting tired of this game. What is your beef with me?\"
\"My beef, as you say, is with all the scouts. I\'m going to make you all suffer one by one as I have suffered. I despise you and your friends. You think that you are the best and prettiest of everyone. I will not rest until everyone that knows you perish from your world.\"
\"Why?\" Minako said shocked. She didn\'t know what was going on but she was getting a bad feeling about this girl.
\"I have my reasons.\"
\"What have we done to you?\" Minako said looking around because every time this girl talked the voice kept coming from a different place.
The girl suddenly got very angry. \"You have taken everything from me. Why is it that the Sailor Scouts think that they can\'t do any wrong? It makes me very mad!!\" she screamed, making Minako wince and she covered her ears because of the sound.
\"I don\'t understand.\" Minako said uncovering her ears. \"Tell me what you are…oh…\"
Minako started said before she was realized that she was up in the air and then dropped on her shoulder.
When she looked up she had to scream because of what she saw. There in front of her was her husband and her friends thrown about, broken and bloody. Tears came to her eyes. She screams again and again covering her eyes.
\"NO!!!\"
She could hear a hearty laugh coming from behind her. \"Now, now; they aren\'t hurt, yet. I just wanted to make sure that you know that I am very serious.\"
Minako short temper reached its peak. \"Oh I got you loud and clear. You are a loony that holds grudges. I don\'t care about what we have done or not done. I won\'t let you hurt them. They are more than my friends. They are my family and that\'s some thing that you can never know or understand.\"
She wished that she could see this thing that was tormenting her because then she would show this loon what she was feeling.
The girl suddenly laughed evilly. \"I\'m not going after your friends or your family as you call them yet. Right now my main target is you. I want to see what pain and dark secrets you have in your heart. So let\'s have a look, shall we?\"
\"What!!\" Minako said.
She suddenly felt like she was being pulled apart from the inside out. When it subsided, she fell to the floor gasping for air holding her chest. She looked up and gasped at what she saw.
There was the girl without her face holding her heart with a dagger just perking the top of it. \"So let\'s have a look at your pain and deepest secrets.\" She stabbed the heart and the dagger seemed to be glowing at the contact that it got from Minako\'s heart.
Minako cried out at the pain in her chest but she was shock that she wasn\'t dead.
\"Don\'t worry I won\'t kill you yet. That would spoil my fun.\" The girl laughed. She moved her hand forward and Minako\'s heart disappeared from it.
Minako looked down and her wound was gone. She got up and said, \"What happened? What did you do to me?\"
\"It\'s just a way that I can look into your heart. Now I know what you keep in your heart, your secret pain. You feel that it\'s your fault that you haven\'t been able to give your beautiful husband a child yet. Oh, how very tragic.\" The girl said laughing happily.
\"Oh yeah, I know, now. Poor Minako; or should I say poor Kunzite. You and him have been married for four years now and no children. He\'s wasted on you. All you are good for is miscarriage after miscarriage,\" the girl teased.
Suddenly feeling dizzy again, Minako fell to her knees again, tears falling from her eyes and landing by her hands. \'She right,\' Minako thought. She remembered all the pain that she and Kunzite has had. All the times that she became pregnant and then she lost the babies were still vivid in her mind. The tears they both cried for what they have lost.
But what the girl doesn\'t know is that Kunzite stills love her and he would never turn his back on her.
\"Hey, that was good. But there one thing that you forgot and that\'s the fact Kunzite loves me for who I am.\" Minako said looking up smiling at the girl, knowingly. \"And he will never leave me no matter what happens.\"
\"Are you sure?\" Well let see if what you say is true.
Minako started to say something when she saw Kunzite walk up to her with another girl on his arm. \"Kunzite, what are you doing?\"
\"I\'m sorry Minako. But I can\'t be with you anymore. I don\'t love you anymore.\"
And with that he turned around and left with the girl.
\"No Kunzite!!\" she cried and dropped her head. She never felt so alone. She suddenly felt arms around her shoulders, but she couldn\'t see them.
\"Oh, what\'s wrong, little Minako? Did I strike a nerve? Are those tears, sweetie? Good.\" The girl said laughing manically.
The teasing only made Minako angrier, brushing her tears away. She knocked the presence away. \"Don\'t touch me, you disgusting harlot! I don\'t know who you are but you can\'t be human and do this to other people.\" She said getting up.
\"Oh such words and here I was being nice. I am very much human. But how am I disgusting? Because you can\'t handle the truth? Now you have made me angry so I\'m forced to be cross.\"
\"Now what are you talking about? I had enough. No more games!\" Minako yelled.
\"Alright, without farther ado, I\'m going to relieve Kunzite of his pain that you give him. He\'s nothing but your burden anyway. You will never have his children as far as I am concerned.\"
\"No you are wrong!\" Minako cried. \"You can never know how Kunzite and I feel about each other.\"
\"Oh no then turn around and see for yourself.\"
Minako did and gasped when she saw herself standing behind Kunzite holding a dagger to his throat. But that can\'t be. She would never hurt him, never.
She cried his name and tried to run forward but she couldn\'t. She looked down at her arms to see that they had chains on them, holding her down by the wrists.
\"Wha…how?\" Minako whispered, still looking at her wrists trying to pull the chains off of her.
The Minako holding Kunzite looked at her and said, \"Come on stupid. Did you think that I would be foolish enough to let you stop my fun? Such a blonde.\" Then she chuckled and moved the dagger close to his throat.
Minako screamed his name again but he wouldn\'t look at her. She tried calling him again, jerking more at the chains.
The girl grinned from ear to ear. \"Sorry, he won\'t answer you. He\'s under my control and I must say he\'s quite lovely.\" The imposter said, kissing his cheek tenderly.
Minako jerked her chains watching the girl kiss her husband. But she didn\'t say anything because she didn\'t want the girl to get mad and hurt Kunzite.
Minako started to cry again. She never felt so helpless. \"Please let him go and take me instead. You want me to suffer so hurt me not him.\"
The girl pretends to think. \"Hmmm. No, sorry. He\'s better than you. Your pain over losing him is finer to me than his would be. Your pain\'s will be like a rare wine.\" She said, evilly chuckling.
\"No!\" Minako yelled, pulling at the chains again. But they wouldn\'t bulge.
You should be happy. Maybe he will come back to someone that deserves him. You don\'t really deserve a good-looking man like this anyway. \"She said hugging him and rubbed his shoulders. \"Poor Kunzite. You can\'t make him happy and give him one child at the very least.\"
The wanna-be moved closer to Kunzite and placed her hand in his long silver hair. She pulled it to her face, caressing it with her cheek.
\"No, his time in this world has come to an end. It\'s sad. Too bad you can\'t have one last moment with him.\" She grinned and moved to kiss his cheek.
And with that she moved in one quick move and stabbed him in his stomach. His blood began to stain his bare muscled chest.
He suddenly gasped in pain and looked forward and saw his wife chained to the ground trying to get free. Then he looked down at his stomach and saw the blood. \"Minako…\" Kunzite said weakly, looking at Minako, falling to his knees.
Then without warning, the shape shifter cut his throat, more of his blood staining his chest. With that she pushed him forward to the ground and moved back grinning at Minako.
Kunzite, barely alive, reached out to his Minako.
Minako watched the whole thing and when she saw him stabbed she began to struggle more. As she watched him fall, she fought the chains. Then Minako saw that the girl cut his throat and saw her push him down like him was nothing. She cried and moved forward and the chains gave away. She ran to him, grabbing him and hugged him close.
\"No Kunzite my love. I\'m sorry!\" Minako said, hugging him as he was slipping away, tears falling down her cheek.
He reached up caressing her cheek taking the tears away. He smiled, looking at her for the last time. He mouthed \'I love you\' and then he was gone. His head fell back and his long hair falling around his shoulders.
\"NO!!! Kunzite!!!\" she cried, shaking him gently. \"Please baby, come back.\" She hugged him tight and kissed him.
\"I love you so much Kunzite, please don\'t leave me.\" She was still hugging him when she heard that girl\'s voice again.
\"Still holding on to him like a life line. You\'re so pathetic.\" The girl laughed wildly.
Minako looked up and said with tears, \"How could you. You are so heartless. He never did anything to you.\"
\"It\'s a talent. But I have something for you, too.\" The girl said grabbing Minako\'s elbow, trying to pull her away from Kunzite,
\"No! Let me go!\" She said, fighting the murdering she-devil.
\"Minako, baby wake up,\" the girl said using Kunzite\'s warm and gentle voice shaking her.
\"No, No NO!!!!!!!\" Minako screamed and she let her dead husband go, wrenching herself free from the girl and hit her in her face using all the pain that she was feeling.

\"MAKO-CHAN!\" everyone had said in unison.
The two attacks cancel each other as Makoto looks on at her opponent. Her attention then turned to her friends. Why was she the only one fighting?
\"Come on, guys. Transform and…\" Makoto stopped as everyone heard
\"HARMONIC WAVE ARROWS,\" which pierced her back and exited her chest.
Falling to the ground, the last thing Ami saw before Makoto\'s death was a smile of evil on everyone\'s kuchibiru, including her own.
\"Hey, why aren\'t we helping Mako-chan,\" she asked everyone as they dissipated and she was left standing alone with the empty shell that was once her best friend.

\"MAKO-CHAN,\" Ami screamed as she flew up off the pillows and crashed into Zoisite\'s head, causing him to fall over on his side as she fell back to the pillows, each nursing their foreheads.
Zoisite had taken extra initiative and crash landed on the hard wood floor and just lay there without any move of getting up from his spot. He sighed.
\"Ami, honey, you really need to do something about that dream. I can\'t keep going into work with black eyes.\"
\"It isn\'t a dream. It happened. You were there,\" she began as he helped himself off the floor, draping his tired limbs over the side of the bed.
\"I know, babe, but your dreams are becoming more and more violent. Maybe a little TLC will relax your fears,\" he asked.
\"I\'m not sure, Zoisite. Something is going on and I don\'t like the feeling that I\'ve been getting lately. I really feel bad for Mako-chan.\"
Zoisite climbed up on the bed, picked Ami up and sat behind her as he began to massage her back. All the while he was agreeing with her on everything she was saying.
\"Well,\" he began as he kissed her neck. \"Maybe you five girls should take some time away from everyone? But don\'t forget to call me. You know how I can\'t live without my water spout,\" he said smiling.
Ami smiled. \"I know. Your water spout loves you and she won\'t do anything to harm you,\" she joked.
Zoisite ran his fingers down her arms, touching lightly each and every part of her skin. Ami was very sensitive to the touch, especially his, and small goose bumps began to form on her arms. He began to kiss her from shoulder to shoulder and then down her arms. Gently pulling her face to meet his, Zoisite gives Ami a small, teasing kiss. She takes it full on and the two lay down on the bed, kissing and groping each other.
Just as Ami was going to undo his shirt, the phone rings. He continues to journey each and every pathway of her body as she answers the phone. She starts with small giggles but turns to serious doctor mode quickly.
\"Hello,\" she asked as the person on the other line
As soon as the person on the other side had finished speaking of how sorry they were to be bothering her, Ami had listened to everything else. She sat up quickly and hit Zoisite in the head again. He sat across from her with a sad look on his face.
\"Mako is sick,\" she asked.
She looked to Zoisite sadly. He gave a wave of his hand and she got up from the bed and quickly got dressed.
\"I\'ll be there as soon as I can. Don\'t let anything happen to her. You do, and you will be fired,\" she said in a harsh warning.
Zoisite looked sadly on as his wife began to prep for her time back at the hospital.
\"That was Himasi. Nephrite brought Mako in because she was ill. I have to go back to the hospital, Zoisite. It seems that it\'s not just me that this nightmare is affecting,\" she confessed as she finished dressing.
She walked over to the bed and kissed her husband. \"Don\'t worry. We can finish later,\" she promised as he got off the bed.
\"That must be why Mother called and asked me to take Neph\'s place in the meeting this morning,\" he said aloud. \"Well, neither one of us can afford to be held from our duties,\" he said as he gave his wife a longing kiss.
Ami had to pull away from him, otherwise he would have sucked her in and she would forget about going to help Makoto.
\"Okay. I\'ll be at the hospital. If you need anything, just call. I just hope that Makoto is doing fine,\" she said as she had walked out of the home. \"I love you, Zoisite,\" she said before shutting the door and leaving for the hospital.
\"I love you, too, Ami,\" Zoisite said at the shut door as he got his clothes presentable.
He quickly walked to the front door as he put on his shoes and headed out to the Hoseki building. He walked slowly from the door to his car.
As he drove on to the main building, he had turned on the radio when he saw a shadow in the rearview mirror. His heart came to a stop when he saw it, but smiled when he noticed that it was just a picture of Ami. He fixed the picture as he pulled into his parking spot. He sighed as he stepped inside the large building\'s front doors.
\"Hello, Mr. Hoseki,\" said the receptionist.
\"Ohayo,\" he responded as he headed up to his father\'s office.
\"Zoisite,\" a male voice spoke as he entered the meeting room.
\"I\'m sorry for my tardiness, Father. Makoto is sick and Nephrite is with her at the hospital.\"
\"Yes, I heard that she was being attacked in her dreams again,\" his father responded.
Zoisite just nodded as he took a seat next to his father.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Ami had parked her car and ran inside the hospital as she looked at the admitting chart and saw Mako\'s room. She picked up her chart and ran to her room, putting on her lab coat during her sprint to her friend\'s room. She opened the door quickly and looked at them as she walked quickly over to her and checked everything out on her best friend.
\"Hm, this is odd. She doesn\'t seem to be running a fever or anything. Himasi, no one is to come into this room without my authorization. You know how I am about my family. Nephrite, is she doing everything that she was instructed to do? Keep off her feet, bottle feed, and all that good stuffs?\"
\"No. She refuses to do anything but what the stubbornness of the Jupiter\'s tell her. Is she going to be okay?\"
\"Well, has she been having that dream again?\"
\"Yes, she has.\"

\"Himasi, please leave us. There are some things we need to discuss as a family. I don\'t want anything to get around the hospital about Mako,\" Ami said as the nurse complied and left the three alone.
\"What does the dream have to do with anything?\"
\"I\'ve been having that same dream. Zoisite thinks that I\'m getting more violent because of it. Something or someone is messing with her mind and I just wish she would listen to her own sister about things like this,\" Ami said, sighing.
\"Well, father\'s been worried about him. He\'s been coming in with bruises and scratches. But I know what they don\'t want to accept. Mako is the beginning of everything.\"
\"Well, I can\'t really do anything about how I am while I sleep. But, if you would like, you can stay with her until she wakes up. That\'s probably all she really needs right now is rest,\" Ami said defeated.

Sitting up quickly, Mako started to gasp. She looked around the room, taking in all the settings. Suddenly, she felt an arm grab her and pull her back to the bed.
She sighed and lay back down as she looked up at the ceiling of the room. Slowly she slunk back to sleep, turning over and placing her hand on the chest of her husband and her head under his chin.
\"What was wrong, sweetheart?\"
\"A bad dream.\" She said, smiling to be in the arms of her one and only love. \"Nothing important, Nephrite,\" she sighed again and fell asleep.
He held her close as she fell back to sleep. The two bodies holding on to each other were relaxed and Nephrite would not let Mako sleep. He started kissing her forehead, which caused Mako to kiss him in return. His fingers slowly traced her spine and it traveled from her neck to the small of her back.
Sleepily, Mako makes a soft moan and then speaks.
\"Where are the children?\"
\"They are at my mother\'s house. Remember? We told her we were going to take a much needed honeymoon,\" Nephrite said, smiling, his finger still tracing the length of her spine.
A sudden stop of his fingers brought Mako\'s eyes open. \"What\'s wrong, sweetie,\" she asked snuggling up closer to him.
\"Oh, nothing. I hope I was right in telling her a lie.\"
\"Oh, I\'m sure she won\'t mind,\" Mako said, pulling him closer as she began to kiss him passionately. She stopped and looked in his eyes. \"Did you take all of the kids?\"
Nephrite nodded. Mako looked at him seriously.
\"Are you sure? Did you make sure you took Saffron?\"
Nephrite looked at Makoto as though he tried to remember if he had taken the baby or not. When he had looked as though he had finished processing the information, he nodded but a baby\'s cry heard from the adjoining room. The couple sighed and Mako began to sit up.
\"No, Makoto. You sleep. I\'ll take care of Saff.\"
Mako raised an eyebrow at her husband. \"Are you sure?\"
Nephrite nodded and smiled. \"I\'m positive. You rest and sleep well.\"
He kissed her forehead, got out of bed and went to calm down Saffron.
Makoto just lay back down and looked after him as he left the room, a smile on his face. Suddenly his head peeped back into the room.
\"Forget something?\"
\"Uh, yeah I did forget about the milk. Where do we keep it?\"
Mako smiled and giggled. \"Do you want me to take care of Saffron?\"
Nephrite nodded. Mako got up, walked to Nephrite, and gave him a kiss as she touched his strong stomach. He followed her as she went to pick up Saffron.
Mako played a little with the beautiful redheaded child as her giggles brought a smile to both her parent\'s faces. Mako had sat in the chair in the room that was next to the crib and placed the girl in a rocking position as she lifted up her shirt and warmed up her nipple, allowing the baby to start feeding. Mako looked at Nephrite.
\"You are a wonderful mother, you know that, Makoto?\" Nephrite told her.
\"And you are a wonderful father, Nephrite,\" she said, their lips touching.
A few moments later, the two look at their daughter and smile as Makoto gets up and places her back in her crib. Saffron just turned over a couple times and went back to sleep, her soft cooing soothing her parents\' worry.
Then Nephrite and Makoto go back to bed and snuggle up to each other, Mako\'s arms going around Neph\'s waist. As they went back to sleep, Mako sunk into yet another heartless dream.
\"USAGI-CHAN!\" Mako screamed as she saw her friend fall into a blackness that was so deep, that she could only see the outline of her body for her features had completely dissipated.
\"USAGI-CHAN! Mada nai!! USAGI-CHAN!\" Mako screamed as she sat up yet again, this time Nephrite was standing at the foot of the bed.
He walked over to her side of the bed and looked at her with concern.
\"Are you alright, Mako?\" he asked her. He felt her forehead, but did not feel any temperature because she was sweating terribly.
\"I\'m fine, Nephrite. I promise,\" she said smiling as she got out of the bed, but once her feet touched the floor, she collapsed.
Nephrite ran over to her and picked her up. She was burning hot and he could feel it through her clothes.
\"I\'m taking Saffron to my mother\'s house. You, sweetheart, are going to the hospital. You are not well,\" he said.
Mako could not respond because her temperature was so high that she had passed out and fell limp in his arms. He placed her in the bed and went to the phone. He dialed some numbers and waited a few moments until there was someone on the other side of the line. He chatted a few minutes with the person before announcing that he would be over there in a few minutes. The other person acknowledged his statement and he had hung up the phone. He walked over to the closet, picked something out for Makoto to wear, and dressed her. Thankfully, Saffron was still asleep during all this commotion, so Nephrite did not have to deal with a screaming baby.
After he got Mako dressed, he went to get Saffron dressed and placed Mako in the living room on the couch as he got Saffron from her crib. He had to put Saff in the car seat, get Mako to the car, get Saffron\'s bag ready with diapers and such, put the car seat in the car and then get in himself. After he had done all he had to do, Nephrite got in on his side of the car, started it, drove off, and dropped Saff off at his mother\'s house.
When he had honked, a woman around the age of 50 came out of the house and looked concerned. She walked quickly over to the car and stopped at the driver side of the vehicle.
\"What\'s wrong, Nephrite?\" she asked.
\"It\'s Makoto. Something is not right with her and she will not tell what is wrong with her. She needs to get to the hospital. Can you let Father know that he will have to call on Jadeite or someone else?\"
\"Sure. No problem, Nephrite. Consider it done. Just take care of my daughter-in-law.\"
\"She will get the finest care available. Oh, and Saffron\'s milk should be in there. You will not need to heat it up. It is natural milk,\" Nephrite said, a little embarrassed.
His mom smiled at him. \"Yes, I know. Makoto told me that she was breastfeeding.\"
Nephrite smiled as he took Saff out of the car seat and gave her to his mom and her bag. \"Be careful with her, please. She\'s very tender,\" he warned.
His mother giggled. \"Nephrite. I\'ve raised 4 children of my own. I think I know how to hold and take care of a baby.\"
\"Okay. I\'ll see you, Father, the kids, and the other 3 way-ward children of yours tonight at dinner?\"
\"Yes. Like always, dinner will be served at 7 p.m. sharp. Let me know how Mako fares. It\'s not good when she gets sick.\"
\"I will. See you later. Bye Saffron,\" he said as he kissed his daughter\'s forehead and got back in the car.
His mother was waving when he drove off and she walked back in the house. When she returned inside, she was greeted by two other faces.
\"What\'s wrong with mommy,\" a girl with brown hair and green eyes questioned.
\"Mommy\'s sick. Daddy\'s taking her to the hospital to get better,\" the woman explained.
The blonde boy next to the girl said, \"Maybe she went to get another kid. That\'s what happened the last time she went to the hospital.\"
This completely caught Kyoko off guard. She ended up laughing.
\"No, Will. Last time she had a fat tummy. Now, she\'s just mommy. She can\'t be getting a new baby. We have Saffy,\" she said, lovingly looking at her little sister in her grandmother\'s arms.
\"That\'s right, Raven. You\'re not getting a new baby. Mommy is just sick. She will be better soon, I promise,\" Kyoko said, smiling at the twins.

In the car, Nephrite is desperately trying to get Makoto to wake up, but no avail. The woman was out and he had to keep his eyes on the road. He decided he would talk to her.
\"You know, Mako. You are a horrible liar. You really should stop taking on so much work. It\'s going to kill you one day,\" he said, trying to keep the tears at bay.
Mako didn\'t move except to point her face towards the sunlight that was streaming in the passenger side window. She heard everything that Nephrite was saying but decided she would keep her comment to herself.
Nephrite had given up on Mako so he kept his attention on the road as he drove along silently. He had given her several glimpses, each time her face becoming more and more pale. This was quite unusual for her because she had hardly become sick. Even after Will and Raven were born, she had never been sick.
\"Woman, you are so lucky that I love you,\" he complained as he sped towards the hospital.
Once there, he parked the car, went over to Mako\'s side, pulled her gently out of the car, shut the door and carried her inside.
\"Lady Jupiter,\" a nurse had cried as she rushed over to Nephrite while an orderly retrieved a gurney.
\"I won\'t tell her that you called her that,\" he said smiling.
\"What happened to her,\" the nurse asked.
\"Well, she was having those bad nightmares again. You know that battle that she had lost. Those memories are coming back to her,\" he explained.
\"Well, that\'s probably part of the problem. Has she been feeding Saffron like instructed,\" she asked.
\"No. She won\'t bottle-feed. She insists on breast-feeding. But, what does that have to do with how she feels now? She\'s sick and I want my wife back to normal,\" he said.
\"We\'ll get Dr. Hoseki here soon. She just left for home, but hopefully we can get her before she is able to do anything else,\" the nurse said as she wheeled Mako into an empty room.

Darkness crept over Tokyo. Makoto was walking down Rainbow Street Bridge as she felt a damp hand land on her shoulder. She grabbed it, twisted it, and flipped the person it belonged to. When she got a good look at the one it belonged to, she began to blush.
\"Oh, I\'m so sorry, Nephrite. I thought you were someone else,\" she said as she helped him up from the hard ground.
The dark-haired man just smiled at the girl.
\"That\'s okay, Makoto. I should know better than to walk up behind the Senshi of Thunder,\" he smirked as he stood.
He dusted himself off and smiled at her. She returned his smile as he extended his hand to her.
\"Well, I better be off. I have much to do before morning,\" she said as she shook his hand.
\"If you would like, I could walk you home. Jupiter or not, you should not be out here by yourself. I\'m sure that Serenity would agree with me,\" he winked at her.
Feeling herself blush, she smiled at him once more. He held his arm out for her as he waited on her answer to his offer.
She took his arm as she placed her hand on the inside of his elbow. He took her bag from her and carried it in his other hand as the two began to stroll across the bridge and down various streets. Mako could hear the comments that others were making about them as they passed by.
\"Sugoi! They make such a wonderful couple. I wonder if Lady Jupiter will be accepting of this matching?\" many had commented.
\"Don\'t worry about what others say,\" Nephrite had whispered.
\"Huh,\" she asked as he had caught her off her guard.
\"I\'m sure that you\'re mother wouldn\'t mind her daughter being escorted home with one of the most respected men of King Endymion\'s son\'s army,\" he said as she looked up at him.
She nodded as her face finally returned to its normal state. He had pulled her closer to him as he hugged her.
\"Well, King Endymion has chosen well for his son\'s Guard. I cannot think of anyone more fit for the office or rank of General,\" she spoke.
\"She speaks!\"
\"What do you mean,\" she asked.
\"You have been nothing but quiet. I was wondering what was going on with you. A gentleman am I that accepts a quality compliment from such a wonderful woman,\" he spoke gently.
\"Well, if you are such this formal with compliments, how are you with dinner invitations,\" she asked cocking an eyebrow.
\"I humbly accept any invitation from those who I am sworn to protect. If you are to choose the day, please inform me when you get the details worked out,\" he joked about the last part.
\"Well, I was hoping you would come tonight. I just finished my shopping when you walked up behind me,\" she said smiling, her voice set.
\"I said I was sorry,\" he said as he sighed and kissed her hand. \"But the real question is will your parents be okay with me and you having dinner together,\" he asked.
\"I\'m sure they won\'t mind. Out of the four, they like you the best,\" she said smiling.
\"Oh, well in that case, I would be most honored to dine with the Kino family this evening,\" he smiled as he winked at her.
Suddenly, she stopped. He looked worriedly at her.
\"What\'s wrong?\"
\"We\'re here. This is my home,\" she said smiling.
\"Oh. But I thought all the Royals were to have a small flag waving in their backyard with the color of their tiara jewel,\" he responded.
\"This is my home. My parents live in another house. They are the ones with the required flag. They gave me permission to live alone until I was ready for the duties that go with being a Queen,\" she confessed.
\"Oh, a little flying from the coop,\" he asked.
\"Yeah, I guess you could say that,\" she giggled as she unlocked the door.
He held it open for her and she walked in the home first. He shut the door after he had entered the abode as she walked to the kitchen. She had placed the bag she had on the counter as she took her apron and began to cook dinner.
\"You can sit at the counter and watch, if you would like,\" she said with a small blush.
\"Wow, Mako-chan. You\'re home is incomparably clean,\" he stated as he sat at the counter.
Mako chuckled.
\"Well, if that\'s the only compliment I get from you tonight, then I\'m not sure my parents are so totally truthful to themselves,\" she joked.
Nephrite\'s face fell. He had hoped that Mako would be one of difference, but it seemed that she was like all the others.
\"Oh, what\'s wrong, Nephrite,\" she asked as he noticed the look on his face.
\"Oh, it\'s nothing really important, Makoto,\" he said.
\"Now, I know that something is wrong. You never call me Makoto. Was it something I said,\" she asked genuinely upset.
\"Well, I\'m probably not the most competent of the four Hoseki children, but I do like to take care of my friends,\" he said.
\"Oh,\" she said as her face fell. \"I\'m a friend,\" she asked, her tone remaining the same as before.
\"No, Mako, you aren\'t a friend,\" he stated.
\"Okay, now I\'m confused,\" she said as her face became screwed up.
\"You\'re not a friend, Makoto Kino. Ami, Minako, Rei, Serenity, they are friends. I don\'t think of you as a friend,\" he said.
Mako had stopped cooking as she stepped to the counter and leaned over it.
\"Oh, you don\'t consider me a friend? Then what am I?\"
\"Someone who is very special to me,\" was his only answer as he blushed.
\"What\'s this,\" Mako cried out in surprise. \"Nephrite Hoseki is blushing!\"
She smiled and laughed, her voice rang like a bell.
\"You can\'t expect me to be all normal flesh, can you,\" he asked as he smiled back at her.
\"Well, you\'ve never blushed around me,\" she replied.
\"Then that should tell you something,\" he said as he smelled the aroma that came from her kitchen. \"That smells delicious,\" he commented.
\"Well, that\'s two compliments. I take it you\'re starving,\" she asked.
\"Only a little,\" he said motioning a small portion with his index and thumb.
\"Well, give me a minute or two and I\'ll have everything fixed and we can eat,\" she said.
As she completed the preparation of the dinner, she placed everything they needed to eat at the table in the living room and sat across from each other. They smiled as she allowed him to take his first bite. He fanned his mouth and she chuckled.
\"Oh, I\'m sorry. I didn\'t realize that it was so hot. I can get you some water, if you\'d like,\" she offered.
\"Oh no, it\'s not hot at all. Just a little spicy is all,\" he finally said after taking a few moments to catch his breath.
\"It was a new recipe my mother had given me. She said it was how her and my father met,\" she replied, blushing a bit.
\"Then I take it, your mother was also such a wonderful cook?\"
\"Oh, no. Mother is a horrible cook. She was working in a restaurant under a different name until Grandfather found her and commanded her to come home. She tried her best to cook, but her first and last meal that she made almost cost my father his life. He choked on a huge piece of beef,\" she said, giggling.
Nephrite was laughing with her as she told the story. \"Well, that was funny. I never dreamt that the Queen of Jupiter could be so down-looked upon by her only child,\" he said.
\"I didn\'t say I don\'t love Mother. She just can\'t cook. I learned from Grandmother on Father\'s side. She could cook just about anything from scratch,\" Makoto had confessed.
\"Well, did she teach you everything?\"
\"Yes, she taught me everything I know,\" she said, bowing her head in small nervousness.
\"Well, I would tell Kino-sobo that she has taught you well,\" he complimented as he reached across the table and picked Mako\'s face to meet his smiling eyes.
She couldn\'t react and she ended up smiling through her tears of happiness.
\'He\'s so nice. My parents finally chose the perfect one,\' she thought as she watched him eat, barely even touching her food.
\"Mako-chan,\" he said, pulling the woman from her thoughts. \"Are you not hungry? I hate to eat alone,\" he said.
Mako smiled and began to eat once more. The two kept looking at each other as they ate. Not too long after they had finished talking, the two adults had finished eating and were sitting at the table.
\"Well, thank you, Nephrite, for being such a wonderful guest,\" she said as she stood.
Nephrite took her hand and smiled. \"Mako, I should thank you for inviting me to have dinner with you. It was wonderful and I enjoyed the company you\'ve been for me tonight. I must admit. I was on my way to a friend\'s house, but when I saw you, I thought that you needed me more than he did,\" he lied.
\"Really? I heard earlier that you were going for a bet,\" she said.
\"Well, Jadeite put money on the table, but I don\'t really care about that. I\'m just glad you invited me and I accepted. Your food is quite exceptional and Jadeite can\'t pay me all the money in the universe to go out with you,\" he said.
Mako wasn\'t paying much attention to Nephrite\'s small monologue until he mentioned dating. She snapped her attention to him quickly and opened her mouth a little.
The memory faded out of her mind as she slowly moved her body in response to the lowering temperature. Nephrite was sitting in a chair next to the bed. It had been a few days since he had brought Makoto to the hospital and he had lost quite a bit of work over it, but work was nothing compared to the life of his wife. He sat still as he opened his eyes and rubbed them when the bright light shone in through the windows. He watched her squirm a bit, but then her body went back to limp as she fell into yet another memory dream. He sighed as he watched her continue sleeping.
\"What a great time this is turning out to be,\" he complained silently.
Ami walked in the room wearing casual clothing. Nephrite stood as she entered the room and walked over to her friend\'s bed. The two hug.
\"How\'s she doing,\" Ami asked.
\"Not really my field, Ami,\" he said as she smiled.
\"Well, she\'s not supposed to be my patient.\"
\"Why is that,\" he asked.
\"Hospital policy dictates that a nurse or doctor is not allowed to take care of family. We\'re sisters, so that\'s why she\'s not supposed to be my patient. But, it took a lot of negotiating. I took a look at her x-rays before I left yesterday. Everything is doing fine and there\'s nothing blocking the veins and arteries in her brain. I\'m not sure what\'s driving her body to react in this way,\" she said as Mako began to gasp again.
Ami softly touched the woman\'s shoulder and she slowed her breathing as she raised her hand to touch Ami\'s and the woman fell back into her memories. Nephrite watched the two ladies and stared in awe as he watched his wife withdraw from her lessened air just by her sister\'s touch.
\"How did you do that?\"
\"I don\'t know. A soft touch is what everyone needs every once in a while. Don\'t worry. I have given specific instructions for someone to come in every hour and see if she needs to be calmed down.\"

Mako stared into the darkened night and felt strangely like she had been in the place before. She walked around without bumping into much. Soon, she had been able to see the bridge she was standing on and every one of her friends. Neo Queen Serenity in front of her, Eli, and Angel. She stared at the scene as she saw that Rei was holding her back and she saw a woman clad almost completely in black stand behind Angel and Eli. As soon as they lost their Star Seeds, they fell back and the woman standing behind them knelt next to their heads and began to chant. She sat and watched this continue on for quite some time until she realized who it was that was at the head of her daughter.
\"DISCORDIA!\" she called out as the Senshi stared at her.
Rei looked at Mako. \"Discordia? Who\'s she?\"
Rei\'s future self smiled at Rei and frowned at Makoto. \"Discordia is your future daughter. She fights well. You will not see her fight because the need for her is not yet come,\" Queen Mars spoke.
Mako became angered. \"She will not be the one who survives,\" Mako said as she fell to her knees.

\"Makoto!\" Everyone said together.
\"Hey guys. What\'s wrong transform and…\" she stopped when a Harmonic Wave pierced her back and went through her chest, spilling blood down her chest as it began to sputter out of her mouth.
The last thing that Minako saw happening that brought chills to her spine was the evil smiles on her friend\'s\' faces, including her own as Makoto died.
Minako stood next to the edge of the building, seeing her friend being murdered by the other Sailor Scouts. She couldn\'t believe what she was seeing.
\"What\'s going on?\" she said closing her eyes, wishing that it wasn\'t real.
She counted to ten and opened them. When she did she saw that everything was gone; the building, the scouts and Makoto\'s body; all were gone.
She only saw complete darkness closing in on her. She felt like she in a black hole. And the worst thing is that she knows that she wasn\'t alone. She felt that someone or something was watching her. This feeling suddenly caused a chill to run down her spine. She shivered and hugged herself.
She started to move forward when she thought that she heard a girl\'s laugh to her right and something moving in the corner of her eye. But when she looked there wasn\'t anything there.
\"What\'s going on? This has to be a dream! Hey is anyone there. Makoto, Rei, Ami, anyone. Is that you guys?\" she asked, looking around but there still wasn\'t anyone there.
Still she couldn\'t shake the feeling she had in her gut. She knows there was someone here and she was going to find them.
\"Who said that this is a dream? This isn\'t a dream. This is your worst nightmare and my pleasure.\" An angry voice shouted out of nowhere.
Minako jumped and turned around. But she couldn\'t see anyone. \"Who said that?\"
\"Well I believe that it was me, you baka blonde. Welcome to my home.\"
\"Hey who are you calling a stupid blonde!! What, this dreary place is your home??\"
\"Oh, you don\'t like it? My home is people\'s despair and unhappiness. So the question is what darkness is in your heart. And it looks like you are alone here. Poor Minako.\"
\"Who are you? I can\'t see you.\"
The girl chuckled lightly, \"If you saw who I was then it would defeat my purpose and ruin my plans, wouldn\'t it; Sailor Venus.\"
You know me?\" Minako said looking confused that this stranger knew her.
\"Oh yeah, I know everything about you and your precious friends,\" the girl said her voice dripping with venom.
\"How could you know us when I don\'t even know who you are? You haven\'t even shown your face.\"
A hand suddenly appeared and slapped Minako across her face.
\"You silly Sailor Scout. You know me. You know me very well. But I won\'t allow you to see my real face until I am ready for you to see it. Plus seeing isn\'t everything.\"
\"Hey,\" Minako said, touching her sore cheek. \"That wasn\'t fair slapping someone when they can\'t see you.\"
\"Okay,\" the girl said. This time a fist appeared and connected with her face, knocking her off her feet.
Minako groaned, picking herself off the floor. \"Hey I getting tired of this game. What is your beef with me?\"
\"My beef, as you say, is with all the scouts. I\'m going to make you all suffer one by one as I have suffered. I despise you and your friends. You think that you are the best and prettiest of everyone. I will not rest until everyone that knows you perish from your world.\"
\"Why?\" Minako said shocked. She didn\'t know what was going on but she was getting a bad feeling about this girl.
\"I have my reasons.\"
\"What have we done to you?\" Minako said looking around because every time this girl talked the voice kept coming from a different place.
The girl suddenly got very angry. \"You have taken everything from me. Why is it that the Sailor Scouts think that they can\'t do any wrong? It makes me very mad!!\" she screamed, making Minako wince and she covered her ears because of the sound.
\"I don\'t understand.\" Minako said uncovering her ears. \"Tell me what you are…oh…\"
Minako started said before she was realized that she was up in the air and then dropped on her shoulder.
When she looked up she had to scream because of what she saw. There in front of her was her husband and her friends thrown about, broken and bloody. Tears came to her eyes. She screams again and again covering her eyes.
\"NO!!!\"
She could hear a hearty laugh coming from behind her. \"Now, now; they aren\'t hurt, yet. I just wanted to make sure that you know that I am very serious.\"
Minako short temper reached its peak. \"Oh I got you loud and clear. You are a loony that holds grudges. I don\'t care about what we have done or not done. I won\'t let you hurt them. They are more than my friends. They are my family and that\'s some thing that you can never know or understand.\"
She wished that she could see this thing that was tormenting her because then she would show this loon what she was feeling.
The girl suddenly laughed evilly. \"I\'m not going after your friends or your family as you call them yet. Right now my main target is you. I want to see what pain and dark secrets you have in your heart. So let\'s have a look, shall we?\"
\"What!!\" Minako said.
She suddenly felt like she was being pulled apart from the inside out. When it subsided, she fell to the floor gasping for air holding her chest. She looked up and gasped at what she saw.
There was the girl without her face holding her heart with a dagger just perking the top of it. \"So let\'s have a look at your pain and deepest secrets.\" She stabbed the heart and the dagger seemed to be glowing at the contact that it got from Minako\'s heart.
Minako cried out at the pain in her chest but she was shock that she wasn\'t dead.
\"Don\'t worry I won\'t kill you yet. That would spoil my fun.\" The girl laughed. She moved her hand forward and Minako\'s heart disappeared from it.
Minako looked down and her wound was gone. She got up and said, \"What happened? What did you do to me?\"
\"It\'s just a way that I can look into your heart. Now I know what you keep in your heart, your secret pain. You feel that it\'s your fault that you haven\'t been able to give your beautiful husband a child yet. Oh, how very tragic.\" The girl said laughing happily.
\"Oh yeah, I know, now. Poor Minako; or should I say poor Kunzite. You and him have been married for four years now and no children. He\'s wasted on you. All you are good for is miscarriage after miscarriage,\" the girl teased.
Suddenly feeling dizzy again, Minako fell to her knees again, tears falling from her eyes and landing by her hands. \'She right,\' Minako thought. She remembered all the pain that she and Kunzite has had. All the times that she became pregnant and then she lost the babies were still vivid in her mind. The tears they both cried for what they have lost.
But what the girl doesn\'t know is that Kunzite stills love her and he would never turn his back on her.
\"Hey, that was good. But there one thing that you forgot and that\'s the fact Kunzite loves me for who I am.\" Minako said looking up smiling at the girl, knowingly. \"And he will never leave me no matter what happens.\"
\"Are you sure?\" Well let see if what you say is true.
Minako started to say something when she saw Kunzite walk up to her with another girl on his arm. \"Kunzite, what are you doing?\"
\"I\'m sorry Minako. But I can\'t be with you anymore. I don\'t love you anymore.\"
And with that he turned around and left with the girl.
\"No Kunzite!!\" she cried and dropped her head. She never felt so alone. She suddenly felt arms around her shoulders, but she couldn\'t see them.
\"Oh, what\'s wrong, little Minako? Did I strike a nerve? Are those tears, sweetie? Good.\" The girl said laughing manically.
The teasing only made Minako angrier, brushing her tears away. She knocked the presence away. \"Don\'t touch me, you disgusting harlot! I don\'t know who you are but you can\'t be human and do this to other people.\" She said getting up.
\"Oh such words and here I was being nice. I am very much human. But how am I disgusting? Because you can\'t handle the truth? Now you have made me angry so I\'m forced to be cross.\"
\"Now what are you talking about? I had enough. No more games!\" Minako yelled.
\"Alright, without farther ado, I\'m going to relieve Kunzite of his pain that you give him. He\'s nothing but your burden anyway. You will never have his children as far as I am concerned.\"
\"No you are wrong!\" Minako cried. \"You can never know how Kunzite and I feel about each other.\"
\"Oh no then turn around and see for yourself.\"
Minako did and gasped when she saw herself standing behind Kunzite holding a dagger to his throat. But that can\'t be. She would never hurt him, never.
She cried his name and tried to run forward but she couldn\'t. She looked down at her arms to see that they had chains on them, holding her down by the wrists.
\"Wha…how?\" Minako whispered, still looking at her wrists trying to pull the chains off of her.
The Minako holding Kunzite looked at her and said, \"Come on stupid. Did you think that I would be foolish enough to let you stop my fun? Such a blonde.\" Then she chuckled and moved the dagger close to his throat.
Minako screamed his name again but he wouldn\'t look at her. She tried calling him again, jerking more at the chains.
The girl grinned from ear to ear. \"Sorry, he won\'t answer you. He\'s under my control and I must say he\'s quite lovely.\" The imposter said, kissing his cheek tenderly.
Minako jerked her chains watching the girl kiss her husband. But she didn\'t say anything because she didn\'t want the girl to get mad and hurt Kunzite.
Minako started to cry again. She never felt so helpless. \"Please let him go and take me instead. You want me to suffer so hurt me not him.\"
The girl pretends to think. \"Hmmm. No, sorry. He\'s better than you. Your pain over losing him is finer to me than his would be. Your pain\'s will be like a rare wine.\" She said, evilly chuckling.
\"No!\" Minako yelled, pulling at the chains again. But they wouldn\'t bulge.
You should be happy. Maybe he will come back to someone that deserves him. You don\'t really deserve a good-looking man like this anyway. \"She said hugging him and rubbed his shoulders. \"Poor Kunzite. You can\'t make him happy and give him one child at the very least.\"
The wanna-be moved closer to Kunzite and placed her hand in his long silver hair. She pulled it to her face, caressing it with her cheek.
\"No, his time in this world has come to an end. It\'s sad. Too bad you can\'t have one last moment with him.\" She grinned and moved to kiss his cheek.
And with that she moved in one quick move and stabbed him in his stomach. His blood began to stain his bare muscled chest.
He suddenly gasped in pain and looked forward and saw his wife chained to the ground trying to get free. Then he looked down at his stomach and saw the blood. \"Minako…\" Kunzite said weakly, looking at Minako, falling to his knees.
Then without warning, the shape shifter cut his throat, more of his blood staining his chest. With that she pushed him forward to the ground and moved back grinning at Minako.
Kunzite, barely alive, reached out to his Minako.
Minako watched the whole thing and when she saw him stabbed she began to struggle more. As she watched him fall, she fought the chains. Then Minako saw that the girl cut his throat and saw her push him down like him was nothing. She cried and moved forward and the chains gave away. She ran to him, grabbing him and hugged him close.
\"No Kunzite my love. I\'m sorry!\" Minako said, hugging him as he was slipping away, tears falling down her cheek.
He reached up caressing her cheek taking the tears away. He smiled, looking at her for the last time. He mouthed \'I love you\' and then he was gone. His head fell back and his long hair falling around his shoulders.
\"NO!!! Kunzite!!!\" she cried, shaking him gently. \"Please baby, come back.\" She hugged him tight and kissed him.
\"I love you so much Kunzite, please don\'t leave me.\" She was still hugging him when she heard that girl\'s voice again.
\"Still holding on to him like a life line. You\'re so pathetic.\" The girl laughed wildly.
Minako looked up and said with tears, \"How could you. You are so heartless. He never did anything to you.\"
\"It\'s a talent. But I have something for you, too.\" The girl said grabbing Minako\'s elbow, trying to pull her away from Kunzite,
\"No! Let me go!\" She said, fighting the murdering she-devil.
\"Minako, baby wake up,\" the girl said using Kunzite\'s warm and gentle voice shaking her.
\"No, No NO!!!!!!!\" Minako screamed and she let her dead husband go, wrenching herself free from the girl and hit her in her face using all the pain that she was feeling.

\"HARMONIC QUAKE!\"
\"JUPITER STAR FREEZING!\"
\"MAKO-CHAN!\" everyone had said in unison.
The two attacks cancel each other as Makoto looks on at her opponent. Her attention then turned to her friends. Why was she the only one fighting?
\"Come on, guys. Transform and…\" Makoto stopped as everyone heard
\"HARMONIC WAVE ARROWS,\" which pierced her back and exited her chest.
Falling to the ground, the last thing Ami saw before Makoto\'s death was a smile of evil on everyone\'s kuchibiru, including her own.
\"Hey, why aren\'t we helping Mako-chan,\" she asked everyone as they dissipated and she was left standing alone with the empty shell that was once her best friend.

\"MAKO-CHAN,\" Ami screamed as she flew up off the pillows and crashed into Zoisite\'s head, causing him to fall over on his side as she fell back to the pillows, each nursing their foreheads.
Zoisite had taken extra initiative and crash landed on the hard wood floor and just lay there without any move of getting up from his spot. He sighed.
\"Ami, honey, you really need to do something about that dream. I can\'t keep going into work with black eyes.\"
\"It isn\'t a dream. It happened. You were there,\" she began as he helped himself off the floor, draping his tired limbs over the side of the bed.
\"I know, babe, but your dreams are becoming more and more violent. Maybe a little TLC will relax your fears,\" he asked.
\"I\'m not sure, Zoisite. Something is going on and I don\'t like the feeling that I\'ve been getting lately. I really feel bad for Mako-chan.\"
Zoisite climbed up on the bed, picked Ami up and sat behind her as he began to massage her back. All the while he was agreeing with her on everything she was saying.
\"Well,\" he began as he kissed her neck. \"Maybe you five girls should take some time away from everyone? But don\'t forget to call me. You know how I can\'t live without my water spout,\" he said smiling.
Ami smiled. \"I know. Your water spout loves you and she won\'t do anything to harm you,\" she joked.
Zoisite ran his fingers down her arms, touching lightly each and every part of her skin. Ami was very sensitive to the touch, especially his, and small goose bumps began to form on her arms. He began to kiss her from shoulder to shoulder and then down her arms. Gently pulling her face to meet his, Zoisite gives Ami a small, teasing kiss. She takes it full on and the two lay down on the bed, kissing and groping each other.
Just as Ami was going to undo his shirt, the phone rings. He continues to journey each and every pathway of her body as she answers the phone. She starts with small giggles but turns to serious doctor mode quickly.
\"Hello,\" she asked as the person on the other line
As soon as the person on the other side had finished speaking of how sorry they were to be bothering her, Ami had listened to everything else. She sat up quickly and hit Zoisite in the head again. He sat across from her with a sad look on his face.
\"Mako is sick,\" she asked.
She looked to Zoisite sadly. He gave a wave of his hand and she got up from the bed and quickly got dressed.
\"I\'ll be there as soon as I can. Don\'t let anything happen to her. You do, and you will be fired,\" she said in a harsh warning.
Zoisite looked sadly on as his wife began to prep for her time back at the hospital.
\"That was Himasi. Nephrite brought Mako in because she was ill. I have to go back to the hospital, Zoisite. It seems that it\'s not just me that this nightmare is affecting,\" she confessed as she finished dressing.
She walked over to the bed and kissed her husband. \"Don\'t worry. We can finish later,\" she promised as he got off the bed.
\"That must be why Mother called and asked me to take Neph\'s place in the meeting this morning,\" he said aloud. \"Well, neither one of us can afford to be held from our duties,\" he said as he gave his wife a longing kiss.
Ami had to pull away from him, otherwise he would have sucked her in and she would forget about going to help Makoto.
\"Okay. I\'ll be at the hospital. If you need anything, just call. I just hope that Makoto is doing fine,\" she said as she had walked out of the home. \"I love you, Zoisite,\" she said before shutting the door and leaving for the hospital.
\"I love you, too, Ami,\" Zoisite said at the shut door as he got his clothes presentable.
He quickly walked to the front door as he put on his shoes and headed out to the Hoseki building. He walked slowly from the door to his car.
As he drove on to the main building, he had turned on the radio when he saw a shadow in the rearview mirror. His heart came to a stop when he saw it, but smiled when he noticed that it was just a picture of Ami. He fixed the picture as he pulled into his parking spot. He sighed as he stepped inside the large building\'s front doors.
\"Hello, Mr. Hoseki,\" said the receptionist.
\"Ohayo,\" he responded as he headed up to his father\'s office.
\"Zoisite,\" a male voice spoke as he entered the meeting room.
\"I\'m sorry for my tardiness, Father. Makoto is sick and Nephrite is with her at the hospital.\"
\"Yes, I heard that she was being attacked in her dreams again,\" his father responded.
Zoisite just nodded as he took a seat next to his father.

Ami had parked her car and ran inside the hospital as she looked at the admitting chart and saw Mako\'s room. She picked up her chart and ran to her room, putting on her lab coat during her sprint to her friend\'s room. She opened the door quickly and looked at them as she walked quickly over to her and checked everything out on her best friend.
\"Hm, this is odd. She doesn\'t seem to be running a fever or anything. Himasi, no one is to come into this room without my authorization. You know how I am about my family. Nephrite, is she doing everything that she was instructed to do? Keep off her feet, bottle feed, and all that good stuffs?\"
\"No. She refuses to do anything but what the stubbornness of the Jupiter\'s tell her. Is she going to be okay?\"
\"Well, has she been having that dream again?\"
\"Yes, she has.\"

\"Himasi, please leave us. There are some things we need to discuss as a family. I don\'t want anything to get around the hospital about Mako,\" Ami said as the nurse complied and left the three alone.
\"What does the dream have to do with anything?\"
\"I\'ve been having that same dream. Zoisite thinks that I\'m getting more violent because of it. Something or someone is messing with her mind and I just wish she would listen to her own sister about things like this,\" Ami said, sighing.
\"Well, father\'s been worried about him. He\'s been coming in with bruises and scratches. But I know what they don\'t want to accept. Mako is the beginning of everything.\"
\"Well, I can\'t really do anything about how I am while I sleep. But, if you would like, you can stay with her until she wakes up. That\'s probably all she really needs right now is rest,\" Ami said defeated.
