Total Eclipse of the Moon

Author’s note: Flamingolo this is for you. This is very abstract and most people may not like it. This was cut from a fic because it was too abstract. It’s a Hakkai and Gojyo lemon -- their first time together.

Inspired by Enigma’s “Total Eclipse of the Moon”

Total Eclipse of the Moon.

A crimson sun. An emerald moon. A woeful Earth.

Hakkai melted and relaxed into Gojyo’s embrace.

And thus, began a total eclipse of the moon.

He pulled Gojyo into his chest and arched his back trying to get closer and envelope himself in this tryst.

The shadow of the earth slipped silently onto the moon.

The rays of the crimson sun worked their way around the third rock -- this third rock had a satellite. This satellite had been condemned to a morbid orbit. This orbit was about to be ever so slightly altered -- a result of the sheer power of awesome gravity. An ellipse of the orbit -- a brief waylay that would forever change the trajectory.

The gravity of the crimson sun.

Shadow and light danced a duel across the face of the moon. Wheeling…tagging…and turning. …

It was a vain game…for the crimson rays were too powerful. The crimson rays conquered and emerged as the victor in this battle on the face of the moon.

Yin and Yang… light and shadow …one needs the other -- locked in a perpetual war since the dawn of time. This war … this zeitgeist of necessity would not end; however, for this skirmish, there was a clear victor -- the rays -- the crimson rays.

Soft hues of yellow, crimson, orange and whispers of emerald intermingled on the pitted face. Lines were defined, peaks accented, indentation brought out.

Emerald eyes went wide as Hakkai cried out…

…and the whole of the full moon lit up the sky.

Crimson rays radiated from the moon -- encasing it…enclosing it…enveloping it … expanding the boundaries ..the self imposed boundaries.

The moon had insoulled the Sun.

---UMBER---

Gojyo crashed forward and panted as sweat glistened on his back.

As was the bitter necessity, the umber and crimson rays finished their journey across the face of the moon.

An emerald moon remained in a blanket of black velvet surrounded by twinkling rhinestones.

It did not despair.

For that orbit around the woeful earth had indeed been forever warped. Changed by the awesome gravity of the crimson sun. The face of the moon smiled through its longing for the return of the warm rays.

It did not despair.

It knew these events were cyclic. It knew those rays would eventually return.

It waited and it did not despair.

Hakkai laid in silence mindlessly trailing his fingers on his sweat slicked stomach. He blinked at the ceiling as his left ring-finger brushed the edge of his scar.

Elsewhere … smothering storm clouds over a withering garden vouchsafed a glimpse of sunlight. The air offered the briefest waft of pending sweet rain. Sunlight and rain were both needed for this garden. Crimson eyes slid shut and a half-breed slept --- for once no rain of tears haunted.

Hakkai eventually began to drift into sleep. He engaged twilight sleep. That delicate fission between wakefulness and rest. That moment when the body tingles and the soul begins to listen. That moment where the body is frozen in rest and the mind is alert.

Hakkai felt ghostly fingers brush across his cheek. He felt a surreal ephemeral kiss upon his lips. A sweet soft feminine kiss.

Other worldly words drifted into his mind.

“Oh, Gonou…thank you. Thank you for finally living for yourself. I’ll always love you. Thank you.”

Kanan lifted from her brother and lover and turned her head.

She smiled as the merest, briefest, glimmer of light twinkled at the end of her dark tunnel.

She began to slowly walk toward resting in peace. She knew it would be a slow and arduous journey. She knew some passages would go quickly and some would nearly grind to a halt. She did not despair. She knew. She believed. She held high faith that her beloved Gonou would save her from this dark tunnel. She knew her lover would eventually let go and allow her to rest in peace.

It was just a matter of time.
