One year later:
It was a cold winter day in England, the snow had at last begun to fall. One lone figure walked down the residential streets of the quiet city, walking toward his home he shared with the love of his life. The black clad figure slowly turned his head upwards and slowly a grin graced his face as the snowflakes fell upon his heated skin. He knew the woman waiting for him at home would be happy with this change in the weather. He could already see the large smile on her face and the twinkle in her eyes.
Now as Robin said, it was finally beginning to look like Christmas.
Amon didn’t really understand this, seeing as how he never celebrated the famous holiday, nor did he really care to even now. However it was important to the woman in his life and he was bound and determined to make her happy yet again, like he had for the other past holiday’s she felt the need to partake in. While he griped to her about the rituals she made him celebrate, she knew his complaints were half-hearted.
A smile once again came to his face as he thought more about the past year on his daily walk home. He really had changed, yet still he maintained a few of his past qualities, so said Robin anyway. Yet she merely laughed and gently nudged him when he lapsed into his sporadic bouts of grumpiness. They never lasted anymore, and sometimes he only did it to get those little laughs out of her. Sometimes that was what lit her up most, when she was able to see the changes in him. The changes her openness and love had created within his dark lost soul.
He really had softened in the past year they had been together. It was a change that pleased him to no end, and even though he complained about the holiday’s, in all actuality he had come to actually look forward to them. But that was something he kept to himself.
Who ever would’ve thought this would’ve been his life. He never knew he’d be able to live without a gun in his possession, yet he had, and in all honesty it was liberating. Life was liberating, and at long last he was enjoying it. Not only was he enjoying his new, quiet, life, but he was enjoying his new found powers.
Now that the witches of the world had been liberated from the STN and given protected rights he could live in peace without fear. True he still debated about his past and couldn’t decide if he forgave his mother or not, but he had decided to forgive himself and move on. A man such as him didn’t live in fear, and he refused to continue on the way he had been. Now he had Robin, who was more than willing to help nurture his powers.
And help him she had. His first few weeks after awakening had been hard, but she was patient with him. She saw sides of him he had never let anyone see, and it had humbled him to no end. Her love and warmth and lack of judgment opened his heart more than he though possible. She was everything to him.
His thoughts had run away with him, like they always seemed to do, and suddenly he noticed that he was home, standing at the foot of the steps that led up to his front door. With a small smile, Amon ascended the steps of his home and opened the front door.
Warmth assaulted his cold body, and immediately the smell of dinner attacked his nose. Robin was in a good mood, that much he could tell, and slowly for the millionth time that day a smile once again produced itself upon his softened face.
Quietly he walked into the house, taking his boots off and placing them upon the mat beside the door. Looking around as he took off his wet coat he noticed that no one had entered the room yet. Quietly he began to approach the kitchen, where he knew his little witch was. That was when he heard music coming from the room he was approaching and the quiet voice of his lover singing along, indicating he was indeed right.
Slowly he continued to make his way to the kitchen where the other occupant of the house was. Undetected, he came to stand in the doorway and quietly let himself lean against it as he watched the sight of his woman preparing dinner. How utterly domestic, something he never thought he’d partake in, but something he fully enjoyed. He never tired of coming home to her and their simple life, and honestly he didn’t think he ever would.

The young witch never even felt the presence of her dark lover as she stood in their kitchen, singing her heart out to her favorite song. Slowly she swayed back and forth, while she sang to her single audience. She knew Amon would be home soon, and she knew that he would complain about the upcoming holiday, but she was bound and determined to decorate their tree tonight. After all that is why she was making his favorite for dinner.
A bribe it was, and it usually worked. Tonight she knew it would, and even if it didn’t, something would persuade him. She was so elated that nothing could bring her down from the high she felt and surely Amon would realize her excitement. The anticipation of waiting for him was nearly killing her, but she knew he would be home soon.
Then she could tell him her news.
“That smells excellent.” A voice said, startling the young woman out of her seclusion and private thoughts. Her heart practically stopped in her chest as the deep voice of her lover reverberated through out her body, making the hairs on her arms stand up. A wave of pleasure washed over her, and a smile came to her face as she let the feeling of his presence engulf her fully.
Slowly she turned around, knowing fully her face was a deep shade of red as her eyes met those of her lover’s. A small smile graced his face at her reaction and slowly she let her eyes roam over his person. He was dressed in his ever familiar black, yet now it seemed warmer than it had in the past. He was leaning against the frame of the door comfortably, signifying he had been there for a good five minutes. His smile only broadened as she cleared her throat to greet him. He was no fool, he knew she wanted something of him, yet she allowed her welcome home smile to come upon her face anyway. She may not get his help, but she could at least attempt to ask him. Yet she knew he would never refuse her, but sometimes he was harder to persuade than at other times.
Slowly she walked to him, allowing her body to rest against his, reveling in the feel of his arms closing around her. His warm breath fell upon her lips as he bent down to her, slowly trailing his lips against hers. Then he closed the distance, sealing his lips to hers in a tender hello, with a hidden promise of more for later. Slowly he pulled away, laying little kisses upon her face as his smile returned once more.
“What do you want Robin?” he murmured against her skin, knowing full well she was cooking his favorite for a reason.
Without hesitation she answered him. “I want to decorate the tree tonight… together.” The response she received was exactly what she had wanted too.
“Ok.” He murmured, pressing a tender kiss to her temple as he slowly walked past her to begin setting the table for their meal.
At his response and sudden movement the quiet witch nearly fell into the door way, but caught herself at the last moment. That had almost been too easy. Relieved, yet slightly surprised, she merely gazed at her lover as he prepared the table.
Normally he put up a fight having to do with holiday’s, but tonight he put up no fight at all. Then it suddenly struck her as she straightened herself, he wanted something in return.
“Amon?” she began, walking slowly toward him. “What do You want?”
The last plate hit the table and slowly he turned his gaze up to regard her suspicious stare. Hmmm… so she had caught on, not like he put up much of a front, but in all honesty he didn’t care to anymore either.
“I know it’s important to you, perhaps the most important of the year. Consider this my gift to you.” He smoothly replied, walking toward his fire witch.
She seemed satisfied with his answer as she leaned into his tender kiss, allowing him to hold her against his warm body.
“Thank you.” She murmured, laying little kisses against his exposed throat.
The snow continued to come down steadily outside and Robin could tell that tonight was the night to tell Amon her news she received that morning…
