Separation Anxiety

She lay still on the cold tile floor in a puddle of recently shed blood, as she listened to the sound of the alarms going off. Something was going horribly wrong, she could sense it. Her whole body ached, as she tried to get up off the ground. The latest round of experiments had been unusually painful and she was still a little dizzy from the pain even the sounds from outside were a little muffled and her powers of perception weren‘t up to their full potential. She tried to focus on the different voices she heard from outside her cold room, all she could hear was a lot of screaming mixed with the sounds of large amounts of blood being spilled on the floor.
She desperately wanted to know what was going on, but knew it would be sometime before anyone would enter her chamber and there was a slim chance that they would even tell her what happened. It was about an hour, until the door to her room was opened and a woman in glasses and a business suit walked in, her high heeled shoes echoing on the floor. Behind her three heavily armed men entered the room, as the door was shut behind them. She could also see people behind the glass window on the far right side of the room, looking at her and ready at the controls.
“Angel, I have been instructed by the chief to tell you, that Lucy has escaped.
“Lucy’s gone! But.. I… I need her. She can’t be gone!” The young girl screamed, as she used her extra set of arms to pick up a nearby chair and throw it at the window, shattering the glass and trying to make a break for it before getting tackled to the ground by a guard.
“No! get off me!” She shrieked, as she struggled to get free before something inside her woke up and she used her extra arms to blow the guard to pieces.
She wasted no time in making her escape, she ran through the broken widow and out the door to the bright hallway.
“Number nineteen has gotten out! I told you she wouldn’t be able to handle it!” The woman in the suit said, as she set off another alarm to get the guards to mobilize.
Angel quickened her pace, as she heard the loud noise and looked for a way to escape. It wasn’t long before she found a door open, that lead to the outside. It was dark out, and the moon shone over the ocean below.
“This must have been how Lucy got out.” She said to herself.
She ran outside, but froze when she saw how high up she was. She looked back, and could hear the guards coming her way fast. Angel took a deep breath, and dove off the clif into the water.
“She dove off sir, number nineteen is gone!” One of the guards said, over a communicator.
“Damn it! Now both of them are gone, as if getting Lucy back wasn’t going to be hard enough, but now we have to worry about getting her little toy back too.” The Chief shouted back, his deep blue eyes showing his anger behind the glass frames of his eye wear.


“We never assumed she would react like that sir, number nineteen was always extremely docile.” The Woman said, once they were back in an office.
“But don’t forget Shirikawa, that was because she knew Lucy was here. Angel feels that she can’t survive without Lucy. The girl maybe twenty years old, but when Lucy isn’t around, you’d think she was a child.” The chief replied, as he sat in his chair
“So what are we going to go chief Kurama?” She asked.
“They’ll both have to be killed, Lucy is to dangerous to recapture and Angel will become extremely violent in order to protect her from us, regardless of how capable Lucy is of fighting on her own.” Chief Kurama replied.
“Do we even know how strong Angel is? She’s never used her vectors against us before.” Shirikawa asked.
“She has a four meter lethal range, and is amazingly fast but Lucy is far stronger then her. But she is still dangerous, and not to be under estimated regardless of how tame she seems.” The chief answered.
“I understand.” Shirikawa replied.

It was daylight by the time Angel found herself washed up on a beach, the sand felt rough against her naked flesh and she felt a little embarrassed for some reason about being so exposed. She quickly searched for something to cover herself with, but all she found was a towel that someone had left on the beach. Not seeing any other options, she wrapped the thin piece of fabric around her thin body before starting to wander around. Angel wished she had something to cover up her horns with, but unfortunately there wasn’t anything she could have used. The wind blew through her long chocolate brown hair, as she continued to walk down the beach.
She tried using her senses to see if she could find Lucy, but it was no use she couldn’t feel her there. Angel noticed that she was in a small town, and decided to explore it. It had been a long time since she had been outside of the lab, and it all seemed new to her.
Restaurants and different shops could be seen everywhere along with crowds of people. As Angel walked by a few places, she suddenly could feel that Lucy was nearby. Every sense tingled and she felt herself being drawn to a large house that looked like a very traditional Japanese restaurant. It was here that her senses were the strongest, but something felt a little strange at the same time.
She knocked on the front door, and was greeted by a boy with black hair and blue eyes, he was dressed in a white shirt and blue jeans. He seemed surprised to see her standing there, but was even more surprised when he saw the horns on her head.
“Excuse me sir, but have you seen a girl that has horns like me. She has pink hair and her eyes are like a reddish color?” Angel asked, with a soft smile.
“Umm, yeah come in.” The boy replied.
Angel was led inside the huge house, and almost jumped out of her skin when she saw who she had been searching for, however it seemed that her friend had changed somehow. Instead of the very serious confident hunter she knew, a very playful girl sat at the table.
“I wonder if this is the other half she told me about before.” Angel thought to herself.

Sitting with Lucy’s other half, was another girl with short brown hair who looked just as surprised to see Angel as the young boy did.
“Why don’t you sit, and we can get to know each other.” The boy suggested.
“Okay, well my name is Angel.” She replied, as she sat at the table across from Lucy’s other half.
“I’m Kohta, and this is my cousin Yuka. Do you know this girl, we found her on the beach earlier this morning?” Yuka asked.
“All she says is Nyu, so that’s what we’ve been calling her.” Kohta said.
“Yeah, that’s what I call her too.” Angel replied.
“So what’s with the horns?” Yuka asked.
“It’s one of the things that distinguishes us from humans, we are of a different species called the Diclonius. But if you don’t mind I’d rather not say anymore.” Angel answered.
“But if you are of the same species, how come you have a different hair and eye color then she does?” Kohta asked.
“It’s a recessive trait, kind of like how blonde hair and blue eyes is a recessive trait in some humans.
“Oh, umm do you have anything else to ware accept that towel?” Yuka asked.
“Not really.” Angel answered.
“Come with me.” Yuka said.
She led Angel down the hallway, to another room that had a dresser in it and pulled out a blue tank top and a pair of white shorts. Which was very similar to what Nyu had on in the other room. Once Angel was dressed in her new clothes they all sat down to eat. Angel’s insides were pulsing as she watched Nyu, waiting for a glimpse of Lucy’s personality to show through her innocent alter ego.
After a while, Angel began to settle into her new home but stayed by Nyu’s side just incase Lucy was let out. Things were fine, until Kohta was showing Nyu a shell that his dead sister had given him and because Nyu saw that it made him sad she broke it. This made Kohta very angry, and he told Nyu to leave. Angel went with her, just to make sure nothing would happen.
When the two of them were down at the beach, Angel helped Nyu look for another shell as the two of them were soaked by the falling rain. If only she could have known about the danger that was coming, Angel would have ran away then. The chief at the lab, had sent a special team of solders to kill both her and Lucy and one of the labs toughest shoulders was with them. He was a very mean guy, with a deep gruff voice and a love for the hunt of weaker prey.
It wasn’t until he was closer to the area, that Angel sensed that something was wrong. She tried to get Nyu to come away with her, but she wouldn’t give up her search for the shell. Angel didn’t want to get caught there, and so ran to where she could still see Nyu but were she knew no one would see her.
Angel watched in horror, as Nyu was attacked by the guards and she silently followed them to make sure that nothing to bad was going to happen, and to maybe get a chance to finally see Lucy.


Finally, when it looked like Nyu was about to be killed the guard standing over her, called over to the tougher man just as he was torn to pieces. Angel’s attention immediately spiked, and her body ran hot as she saw her beloved friend standing there ready to strike.

Lucy stood with a gun in her hand, and shot the tougher solder, before turning her attention to Angel who was now standing there staring at her with tears running down her cheeks.
“Lucy, oh Lucy it’s you.” She cried as she knelt at her feet.
“I see you escaped the lab too.” Lucy replied, in her monotone of a whisper.
“Only after they told me you had left, I didn’t know what I’d do without you. I need you in order to stay tough, you know that better then anyone.” Angel said.
“I know, but I don’t have time to discuss this with you right now. Once I have finished off that guard you and I can talk.” Lucy replied, as she walked past Angel.
She watched as Lucy began to use her vectors to attack the guard, Angel smiled at the site especially once she had broken one arm, tore off the other and blinded him. Lucy began to choke him too, but as he was thrashing around he hit her closed hand. When she opened it to see what was inside, she found the shell that her other half had found for Kohta. This caused Nyu to come back out, and Angel was a little disappointed but tried to follow Nyu back to the house as she ran.
They got back to the house, but no one was there yet and they decided to wait. The rain fell from the sky even harder, and the air had turned cold when Kohta got back. He hugged Nyu when she showed him the gift, and Angel smiled to see him happy again.
Once they were back inside, the three of them went into one of the rooms. Kohta looked for new outfits for the two girls to wear.
“Umm Angel, do you think you could change Nyu’s clothes? I don’t think she can do it herself.” He asked, as he handed her a long yellow shirt. Along with an equally long green one for her to put on once she was done changing Nyu.
“Yeah, can you leave the room?” Angel replied.
Kohta nodded, before turning to leave.
Angel removed the wet undershirt first, exposing the girls firm ample breasts. She blushed at the site for a moment, as she realized that she was also feasting her eyes on Lucy’s beautiful body. It took a lot for Angel to keep from fondling Nyu’s breasts as she put the shirt over her head and pulled it down the length of her finely curved body just above the wet shorts she had on. Angel laid Nyu down, and slowly pulled the girls shorts off revealing her most private area.
“I don’t think you need any underwear, this shirt is long enough to cover you.” Angel said.
“Nyu?” Nyu replied, as she cocked her head to the side.
“Hey Angel, are you done changing her clothes?” Kohta asked.
“Yeah, do you think you could take her for a moment so I can change?” Angel asked.
“Sure, come on Nyu.” Kohta replied, as he took the girl by the hand a led her out of the room.

Angel collapsed into a heap on the floor, staring up at the ceiling. The site she had just seen had been absolutely beautiful, and she wished Lucy would come back out so she could play with her a little.
Once she was finished changing her own clothes, she went back out to a sitting room where Kohta was. He had a magazine in his lab, but looked up when she entered the room.
“Do you know what was up with those guards?” Kohta asked.
“They were probably looking for us, to try and bring us back to where we came from, but you can’t let them Kohta. You have to promise me you won’t let them take us away from here, they abuse us there!” Angel begged.
“You don’t have to worry, I’m not letting them take either one of you.” Kohta assured her.
“Thanks Kohta, I owe you one.” Angel replied.
“Well, maybe we should get to bed. I’m not exactly feeling all that great, and you could use the rest.” Kohta said.
“Yeah, I think I’m going to share a room with Nyu.” Angel replied.
“Why, we have tons of rooms?” Kohta asked.
“Because I’d rather be with her then by myself.” Angel answered, as she took Nyu by the hand and led her down the hall to one of the rooms.
She pulled beds out for them both, and had Nyu lay down with her. The innocent side of Lucy, easily complied and even settled in close to Angel as she fell asleep. Angel smiled, but deep down she wished that it was really Lucy she was sleeping with. She wondered when the next time would be that her friend would come out again.
The next morning, Angel awoke to find herself alone in the room. She started looking for her roommate, and found her with Kohta who didn’t look so good. Nyu turned to see Angel there, and her eyes begged for her to help.
“You have a really bad fever Kohta.” She said, as she pulled her hand away from his forehead.
“Do you think you could get me some water Angel?” Kohta asked.
“Sure, Nyu you keep and eye on him for me okay?” She answered, turning to her friend.
“Nyu!” The pink haired girl replied, with a confident smile.
Angel went into the kitchen, and filled a small bowl with water along with a glass of it and a small cloth. She returned and knelt down next to Kohta, she rung out the cloth that had been soaking in the bowl of water and put it on his forehead.
“Hey, you’re good at this. Have you had to do this before?” Kohta asked with a forced laugh.
“Not really, I kinda wish that cousin of yours was here though. She could probably take better care of you then I can.” Angel answered.
“Why do you say that?” Kohta asked.
“I’ve never really been good at taking care of anyone, I can barely take care of myself. It’s amazing how pathetic I have become over the years.” Angel replied, as she looked away.
“What do you mean?” Kohta asked.
“Never mind. It’s not really a story you need to hear.” Angel answered.
There was a moment of silence between them, before a voice could be heard in the hallway.
“Kohta! Are you home?” A familiar girls voice asked.
“Umm, in here Yuka!” He replied, a little shocked.
Yuka came in the room carrying a shopping bag full of clothes, but put them down rather quickly when she saw how ill Kohta was.
“You’re really sick, you should go to the hospital.” She said.
“Please, I’m not going to a hospital. But anyway, what are you doing here?” Kohta asked.

“Well I was thinking, I’m not sure if it’s a good idea for the three of you to stay here all by yourselves, so I’m moving in here too.” Yuka announced.
“Huh? But I don’t think that’s really necessary.” Kohta replied, as he sat up.
“I think it would be nice, the more people the better.” Angel said.
“Nyu!” Nyu added with a smile on her face.
After a few hours, Kohta’s fever went away and Yuka had him start doing some chores while she dressed Nyu in a new outfit along with Angel.
Nyu had on a green hat with fuzzy thing on the ends of it, a pink t-shirt with a red shirt over that. Along with that, she had on a yellowish orange skirt that had red stripes on it and purplish shoes completed the outfit.
Angel’s out fit was more simple, and was just a blue dress with thin straps and no back to it. The skirt itself went down to her knees, showing off her long slender legs. The thing that completed this outfit was the pair of black buckle shoes, which made her look like a little girl.
When they came back out, they found Kohta talking with a young girl at the door. She look as if she were maybe fourteen, with short brown hair, and wearing just a sweatshirt. She had a small dog with her on a leash, which she tied up outside.
“Yuka, this is Mayu she saw what happened the other night.” Kohta explained.
“Really, let’s talk in here.” Yuka suggested, as she lead the way to the dinning room. They left Angel and Nyu in the hallway where they were washing the floor. Nyu noticed a small box resting on a low counter and opened it, really soft music began to play out of it and Nyu began walking with it. She didn’t notice that by washing the floor, it had become slippery and she fell and hit her head hard against the floor.
Angel’s senses woke up, as Nyu got up. It was Lucy again, and by this time the others had all come out to see what had happened. Noticing Kohta there, Lucy quickly went to attack him but something in her made her stop and she turned to leave.
Angel scrambled to her feet, to follow her outside.
“Lucy, wait up please!” She called out.
Lucy turned to see the girl following her, and allowed her to catch up with her before continuing to walk down the street.
“I was wondering when you’d come out again, I‘m glad to see you” Angel said.
“I can tell.” Lucy replied.
“I was hoping you’d come through last night, so I could be with you instead of you’re other half.” Angel said.

“How can I matter to you this much? Lucy asked, sitting on a flight of stone steps.
“Ever since I first met you in the lab that day, I’ve always wanted to be by your side.” Angel replied, sitting down next to her.

::Flash Back::


The bright lights, were reflected against the shiny floor. Four guards were stationed on all sides of her, as they led her by a chain around her neck. Her arms were tied behind her back, and she had ankle cuffs on to keep her from running away. Her whole body shook with fear, as another door was opened to revealed a glass tank in the middle of the dark room.

“Come on! Get in there!” The guards ordered as they tried to shove her in.
“No! Please don’t! I don’t want to be locked away!” She screamed, and tried to pull away from her restraints.
“Don’t make us shoot you, now get in!” They ordered her again.
Before she could make another protest, all four guards seemed to explode around her. She looked over to see another girl, she had long pink hair and reddish eyes. She stood naked in front of Angel with a strong glare towards her, before using her vectors to undo Angel’s restraints. Hearing an alarm go off, Angel ran behind her unknown savior and buried her eyes in her shoulder.
“Please, help me, I’m scared!” Angel begged.
“Shh, calm down. They won’t lay a hand on you, while I’m standing near you. But why didn’t you use your own arms, you could have gotten away!” The other girl asked.
“They kept making me feel pain, I can’t use them when I’m in pain!” Angel sobbed.
“Just stay close okay?” The girl said.
“Okay, who are you anyway?” Angel asked.
“My name is Lucy.” She answered.
“I’m Angel, thanks for protecting me.” Angel replied.
::End of Flashback::
“But all I did was, stop them from shooting you when you wouldn’t get into your cage.” Lucy reminded her.
“Yeah, but you let me hide behind you too remember? I was so scared being at that lab, I didn’t even know why I had been brought there. I never used my vectors against anyone before, but because of what I am they said I needed to be locked away.” Angel said, as a tear ran down her cheek.
“Because they knew that, even if you didn’t attack them that you still could. They never take any chances with us, especially me. I was going to try and escape that day, but you seemed to pathetic to be left alone so I sacrificed that day for you.” Lucy said.
“I know, and I thank you for that. I just don’t understand why, they split us up after they had allowed us to be together for so long. Remember after that day, they would bring me to see you, and it lasted for months but then it stopped. Why?” Angel asked.

“Isn’t it obvious? They realized that if you and I ever teamed up, that it would be almost impossible to stop us. We have a six meter range between the two of us, and my strength coupled with your speed, is not something they wanted to mess with.” Lucy explained.
“They thought that letting me play with the other one would be the same thing. Humans can be so stupid sometimes, I wanted you, I love you!” Angel replied, getting a little mad.

“I know you do, and the other one is on her way here right now because of him.” Lucy said
“What? She’s going to try and take us back isn’t she?” Angel asked, getting a little panicked.
“Relax, yes she is going to try. But I won’t let her take either one of us without a fight.” Lucy reassured her, before placing her hand on the girls cheek.
“I want you to go back to Kohta’s house, and wait for me there. After I return, and it gets late I will give you what you have been yearning for all this time.” Lucy explained, before kissing Angel very softly on her mouth.
Angel’s eyes went wide with shock, and a light crimson lined her face. But she did as Lucy told her, and got up to leave.
“Can I ask you something before I go?” Angel asked.
Lucy just raised an eyebrow and nodded.
“Why did you help me that day?” Angel asked.
“I felt sorry for you, I could tell how fragile you were and thought maybe if I befriended you it would give you the strength to fight back. Don’t forget Angel, you have the power to keep any threat away from you. We weren‘t meant to live our lives being chained up and restrained, nor are we here to be used as science projects” Lucy answered.
“Thanks Lucy, I’ll see you later tonight.” Angel replied, with a smile as she left.
The sun was setting by the time Lucy returned, but as her other half. Only this time Angel could feel that Lucy would be back out, and so she wasn’t disappointed at all.
It was very late by the time Angel went to her room, and laid down next to Nyu who was already asleep. But it seemed just as she settled into the fabric of her bed, Lucy’s eyes snapped open and she turned to see her friend laying there looking at her.
“I guess you won the fight.” Angel assumed.
“Yes, it wasn’t much of a challenge though.” Lucy replied, as she sat up.
“I’m sure it wasn’t, nobody can defeat you.” Angel said, as she wrapped her arms around Lucy in a loving hug resting her head on her shoulder.
Lucy smiled, and stroked Angel’s hair before getting her to look at her. She stroked Angel’s cheek with her thumb, before pulling her close and capturing her lips in a fierce kiss and beginning to massage the wet cavern of Angel’s mouth with her tongue.
Angel returned the favor, and felt herself being lowered down to the floor and Lucy straddling her hips. She removed all her clothes along with Angel’s, so they lay naked against each other.


“Why don’t you let me pleasure you first?” Angel suggested.
“Alright.” Lucy agreed, as she allowed her lover to get on top of her and plant kisses down her snow white throat.

Angel clenched her eyes shut, as another powerful orgasm made her body shake and call out for her lover again. Her body was soaked with sweat, as was Lucy’s and both were clearly exhausted by their actions, Angel rolled onto her side as Lucy lay next to her stroking her cheek.
“I love you Lucy, I want us to always be together.” Angel said.
“We will.” Lucy replied, as she kissed her on the cheek before drifting off to sleep. Angel smiled, and pressed her forehead against Lucy’s before also failing asleep happy to have finally had the chance to be with the one she had loved for so long.
