It was a place only where legends dared to tread. It was a secret chamber hidden deep under Mew island. Nine spotlights exploded on and the nine legendary birds appeared. They were not in their bird form, rather they were in their poke-human forms.
The first was Abora, goddess of all that was plant. Then came Articuno, goddess of ice. Next came fissurano, god of earth. The god of the rainbow, Ho-oh, came next. The tallest of the gods came in next. Lugia stepped forward followed by the god of fire Moltrace. Silveranos, the steel god was next to join the circle. The next was Vartimus Wing, and the last to join was Zapdos.
A tenth light shined in the center of the circle, and the most powerful of all creatures appeared, mew. This was not the ordinary Mew, it was the first Mew. It was the guardian of all Pokemon. It looked around to make sure that all were present.
"Why have you summoned us?" Lugia asked.
"As i predicted, the chosen one to stand against the darkness has been born." the mew says in a quiet, but commanding voice.
"He was born of the darkness. His father runs Team Rocket." Vartimus Wing says.
"How can we trust a human conceived by the blood of Giovanni?" Moltrace asked.
"If you ask me, we should take him out now and be done with it." Fissurano says.
"Better yet, why should we get involved. The humans will just destroy themselves." Zapdos says.
"The humans keep the Pokemon in balance. Pokemon may not like battling by nature, but they are made stronger by it. If the humans die, the Pokemon will become weak and the planet would surely die." Mew says sternly to the hot headed birds.
"If this human is so great, why would he need our help?" Ho-oh asked.
"He may have the ability to take down Giovanni, but his Pokemon will not be able to completely help the chosen one take him down." Mew says.
"So, what you're saying is that he can't do it on his own and we will have to help him." Zapdos says staring down mew.
"Yes, he can't play by Giovanni's rules because there are none. Mews says looking into the thunder god's eyes.
"We shall observe him. We will see how he reacts towards his pokemon, then we will decide whether or not to help him." Lugia, the wisest of the gods, says not wanting a war to happen between his fellow gods and goddesses.
"There will be influences that will guarantee is purity of heart." Mew says.
"We shall see Mew," Vartimus Wing, the dark god, says transforming into his bird form and taking off. The others follow suit and Mew is left on its own.
"So damned stubborn. They will see...they will see..." the Mew says getting a little amusement from the 9 birds that have skulls harder than steelix's whole body.

fourteen years later, in a valley nestled somewhere in the Johto area, a six foot seven inch cat like pokemon was observing his friends. The genetic wonder known as Mewtwo had been keeping this valley a secret from all humans. However, he was still found out by Domino, one of the high ranking members of team rocket. Fortunately, Ash had somehow stumbled 'on to the scene and helped drive off the rockets. For some reason, he and this boy were crossing paths too many times for his comfort. Even though he had found peace, he still had a desire to crush Giovanni like a ripened orange.He then saw something teleporting right in front of him. He saw that it was the first Mew, not the female Mew that for some reason took affection towards him even after what he wanted to do to the Earth.
"What are you doing hear?" Mewtwo asks using his psychic ability to talk. He, unlike the birds, was not bound by the rules of this Mew. He could do as he pleased.
"I'm guessing you know why the boy is called the chosen one." The mew says making it sound more like a statement instead of a question.
"Yes, he maybe the son of that mad man, but even with my distrust of humans I still can trust his soul." Mewtwo says looking the eldest Mew right in the eye.
"Soon, he will have to face the darkness. I wish you to stay out of the matter altogether. You know that you could destroy Giovanni, but its not your place to do so." the Mew says.
Mewtwo grabbed the Mew by the scruff of its neck and held it right in front of his face. Mewtwo was not one to boss around so easily. He was not afraid of anything, nor would he listen to anyone, especially a Mew. Mewtwo was a big fan of free will, after what Giovanni did to him, he swore to himself that he'd never be controlled like that again. His three fingers clutch Mew in a vice grip that most would fear to be in.
"No one tells me what to do. If the chosen one needs help inflicting pain on my former "master", I will be there." he says with his eyes glowing purple with hate.
"He will have help, but in my way." Mew says not intimidated at the least.
"Your help? A bunch of old gods who can't see beyond their own pride. I know his mind. No matter what he does, Giovanni will try to find a way to win." Mewtwo says hissing at the eldest Mew.
"Ash will win. Your interference will be counter productive." Mew says trying to reason with the cat.
"You help in your way, and I'll help in mine." he says throwing the cat towards the ground and walking away to plan.
"I apologize for his behavior, he's still hurt by what Giovanni did to him." the other mew says helping the eldest Mew up.
"I can't stop him, I can only hope that he'll do something right." the elder Mew says and teleports off.

In the Kanto Region, outside of Professor Oak's lab, two familiar trainers were having their third battle in three years. The first was before the boys went off to the Johto region, the second was at the tournament, and now it was the rubber match. Samuel Oak and Delia Ketchem were watching Ash and Gary from the protections of the lab.
"Sam, he's getting more and more like his father. Even though he didn't win the tournament, he finished in the top 8. He's getting dangerously better." Delia says.
"He has his father's gifts of seemingly predicting the next attack and coming up with a counter." Sam says.
"We'll have to tell Ash won't we?" she asks with a little fear in her voice.
"We knew we would have to tell him the truth one day. The problem is his reaction to it." he says with the same concern that Delia had.
"We told him how great his father was. If we tell Ash that his father is actually the head of team rocket, then who knows what he'll do." Delia says tears threatening to come down.
"The boy is old enough, but will he do the right thing and take his father down?" Oak asks mainly to himself.

"There's that brat who has beaten those fools so many times and us about three." Cassidy, a member of the black rocket squad says.
"I know why he beats those two dopes, but how in the hell did he defeat us?" Butch, Cassidy's partner, asked.
"How should I know? I do know that this will end it. When I tell you, throw the smoke bomb, that way we will blind side them." she says laughing evilly.

As all of this was going on, Misty was on the phone with her three older sisters. Apparently, they had left a message with Professor Oak and now she was on the phone half yelling at them.
"Just because you three are going out on a world tour does not mean that you can just recruit me to lead the gym!!" Misty yells in her normal hot headed routine through the phone.
"Yes it does. You have to come back. You don't want the family to lose the gym, do you? Do you want that on your conscious, Misty?" Violet asked. Then Misty heard an explosion from the back of the lab.
"Look, I'll talk to you three later, there's trouble here." Misty says hanging up before any of them could retort.

"Where did all this smoke come from?" Garry coughs out.
"I don't know. NOCKTOWEL, come out and blow this smoke away!" Ash says letting out the owl pokemon. He used his wings to blow all the smoke away. When Ash and Garry's vision cleared, they saw two black uniformed rocket agents with a primape and a Rapidash out ready for a fight.
"Surprise!" Butch yells and the two pokemon charged the two.
"Friends of yours Ash?" Garry asks teasing as usual.
"Far from it." Ash says.
"What shall we do?" Garry asks not too sure of what to do. He was not as experienced in fighting off Team Rocket as Ash was.
"We've worn out most of our pokemon battling each other. Umbreon and Pikachu will have to battle. You take the Rapidash, I'll get the Primape." Ash says nodding towards Pikachu.
"Maybe there is a brain in that head of yours after all. Umbreon, use mudslap on the Rapidash." Garry ordered. The black pokemon throws a good amount of mud at the horse. Rapidash tries for a flame thrower, but misses his target.
"Now, bite," Garry says and Umbreon lunges for the horse and bites into the Rapidash's skin.
"Now, finish it off with one more mudslap." he says and the Rapidash is pelted with more mud. This enraged Cassidy. She was not going to be shown up today.
Meanwhile, Primape was having a little trouble. He couldn't hit the yellow blur that was dodging every single attack.
"Come on Primape, use dynamic punch." Butch ordered. Primape tried to use the attack, but Pikachu used more of its agility to move out of the way again.
"Good job Pikachu, now finish it with a thunderbolt attack." Ash says and Pikachu gave Primape a shock to his system.
"Raticate, hyper fang those two." Cassidy barked
"Umbreon," Garry started.
"Pikachu," Ash says.
"Quick attack!!" they both ordered. The two Pokemon charged at the Raticate at blinding speed. They both hit their target sending the rat flying away. Butch and Cassidy went running after it.
"They'll be in the next area code before they can get there precious Raticate." Gary says smiling at their handiwork.
They both stood there looking at one another. They both realized what had just happened...they had worked together.
"That was scary, and I don't mean Team Rocket attacking us." Garry says recalling his pokemon.
"I know, we defeated them with little to no effort." Ash says.
"We're two different students of Pokemon. You trust your instinct, while I just go by element, type, the level match ups. You came up with the plan, and we executed it like we've done this before. I'll see you later, I've gotta go think things over." Garry says solemnly and walks off.
"Ash! Are you all right?" Misty yells.
"Yeah, me and Garry had to explain something to Butch and Cassidy." Ash says with an amused smile on his face.
"You and Garry working together, it's the end of the world." Brock says coming towards Ash.

Later on that day, Oak, Delia, and Ash were in Sam's bedroom talking. Garry was behind the door eves dropping on the conversation. Garry would never be able to prepare himself for what he was about to hear.
"What's this about, mom?" Ash asked.
"Sit down my son, we have a lot to tell you." Delia says hoping for the best. Right away, Ash realized that he was about to hear a bomb shell, and he didn't like it.
"Remember how I told you about your father, well we didn't tell you the whole truth. He was a gifted trainer, but he wanted something else. He wanted all humans and Pokemon to live in peace. He wanted a perfect society. He, along with other trainers, started what he called Team Rocket." Delia started. The color drained from Ash's skin as he heard the story.
"That makes no sense at all!" Ash started to protest."
"It does make sense since he was my brother." Oak explained. When Garry heard this revelation, he was almost put into shock. He first found out that Ash's father had started team Rocket and now he found out that he and Ash were family.
"Over the years, my brother became colder and darker. He was not handling the responsibility like he should. He had taken too much upon himself and went from becoming Joseph Oak to Giovanni Di Rocketti. When he found out that your mother was pregnant, he went into a frenzy and almost killed you, myself and your mother. There was one victim that day, your unborn twin sister was killed. The scar that he wears came from my Syther."
"You told me he was dead. Now you tell me that he is the evil force running Team Rocket!" Ash yelled getting angry.
"In a way, we told the truth. My brother died from within, and now Giovanni is in his place." Oak says trying to calm the hot headed boy down.
"What do you want me to do, go on some quest to stop the mad man? Is that what you want? Me just to go out and maybe ruin my life just because you want him stopped? Well, he's your brother, deal with it!" Ash says storming out. Garry had barely enough time to get out of the way when Ash exploded out from the door. Garry could see the look of pain and torment on his cousin's face.

"I told you...I told you that something like this would happen." Delia says crying.
"He likes to learn the hard way. He will find out that his father will find out about him, and then he will have no choice but to stop his father." Oak says putting a comforting hand on Delia's shoulder.

Brock and Misty had been waiting outside the lab for Ash. When they saw his expression, they could say nothing. All they did was follow Ash to the newly built Pallet Pokecenter. Ash went straight to one of the living quarters and slammed the door.
"I don't like this. He's never shown this much emotion before." Misty says.
"Someone better go talk to him." Brock suggested.
"They says something to him." Misty says just loud enough for Brock to hear.
"Who?" he asks as Pikachu gets in his lap.
"Professor Oak and Ash's mother. Whatever they told him has made it look like someone cut Ash's soul with a sword." Misty says.
"I better go talk to him." Brock says heading towards the door.
"No, I'll do it. You may be a guy, but your bed side manors are not the best."
"Yeah, but you and Ash fight like a couple of Houndune."
"I know, but let me try first, I don't like seeing him this way." she says and walks past Brock.

Ash had his face buried in the pillow wishing that this nightmare would end. He then heard someone come into the room and shut the door quietly. He could tell who it was by the sound of her footsteps.
"Come to yell and call me a whinny brat again." Ash says coldly.
Those words stung her a bit. "Ok, I deserve some of that, but I've never seen you this way before." Misty says coming towards him.
"Why should you worry about my problems now. You've got a gym to run. I heard the message Oak gave to you." he says trying to calm himself, but failing miserably.
Misty noted the way he says Oak. It was in spite. She Lays beside him and lifts his face to meet hers. "Tell me what they told you." She says hoping to get through to him.
Ash crumbled under her eyes. He told everything about his father. to say Misty was shocked was an understatement. All she could do was hold Ash until he fell asleep.

The gathering from 14 years ago were now back. The nine birds plus Mew and two newcomers. Celebi, the psychic-plant type, was there along with one other.
"Mew, the chosen one has found out who his father is. He may not take up the battle that he must fight." LUGIA says.
"Humans are emotionally fragile. Give him time, I know personally what this boy is capable of." Mewtwo says.
"You and Mew's faith in the boy will bring us down." Vartimus Wing says looking at the clone directly.
Mewtwo stared right into the birds face. He may not have the element type on his side, but he had a few tricks that no one knew about yet.
"Unlike what mew told you, I will at any time assist the chosen one as I see fit." Mewtwo says to all in the room.
"You shouldn't get directly involved. He'll be able to do it on his own." Mew says to Mewtwo.
"I've time traveled throughout this situation, there are a number of ways that this could go. Nothing is written in stone when it comes to this situation." Celebi says.
"I will not allow him to fight Giovanni on his own. He may have the ability, but Giovanni possesses more pokemon than all the league trainers combined. The chosen one's resources are powerful, but yet limited. This is one reason I will directly interfere. One other is that I still have a small score to settle with the human." Mewtwo says.
"And how can we trust you to do something of this importance?" Vartimus Wing asks getting into the psychic cat's face.
"I may not be a so-called "god" like you 9 are, but I do have the power. I know him better than anyone else on the planet." Mewtwo says looking around at all of the birds.
"I can't change your mind, so I'll say, good luck." Mew says looking into the determined clone's face.
"I will do this alone, I will not get my clones involved in this. I will be acting alone. This is the only thing I will promise." Mewtwo says and disappears.
"He's too much of a wild card mew." Vartimus Wing says looking at Mew.
"All we can do is wait until the final battle." Mew says.
Lugia and Ho-oh looked at one another.
"These times they seem to try man's and Pokemon's souls." Lugia says.
"I like Mewtwo's style. It reminds me of those three cats I've revived." Ho-oh says.
"We've tested him, now let's see what he can accomplish." Lugia says.

Intimidation, that is what Giovanni liked. He could feel Butch and Cassidy shaking.
"Don't get bent out of shape yet, you fools. I expected failure. This Ash is getting to be an annoyance instead of a speck of dirt. We'll need resources to make damned sure we beat this kid. I want you two to take a large squad of dannin troops and take out this." Giovanni says pointing to a spot on the map near VeridianCity.
"If I'm correct, that's James's parents' estate." Cassidy says. Giovanni smiled knowing where this was heading. He new that the two that stood in front of him hated Jessie and James.
"It will be a pleasure raping that place." Butch says smiling with a wide grin on his face.
"Consider this a punishment for those idiots failing over and over again." Giovanni says laughing. Butch and Cassidy started to laugh as well.

Mewtwo appeared back in his valley. His Mew was there to greet him.
"Why must you take it upon yourself to help the chosen one?" Mewtwo's mate asked. The mighty clone lifted the Mew off her feet gently with his three fingered hand and began to scratch her belly.
"He assisted in my escape from Team Rocket when they invaded this place. He showed me that it isn't how you were born, but it's what you do with the life you've been given. I will not let Giovanni destroy one with such a heart." Mewtwo says.
"I know, but I still think your crazy." Mew says purring from his treatment.
"Don't worry about me, I will not take too great of a risk." he says and begins to lick the Mew's face.

She was the first to awake that morning. She saw the black haired boy still asleep. Now she had an even worse decision to make. Misty knew that Ash would have to confront his father, but at the same time she had a responsibility to the Cerulean Gym. She knew that it was love that she felt for him, but she didn't know how he felt either. She couldn't let Ash face his father alone. If he were to get killed and her not know about his feelings for her, that would be worse than getting rejected. To her, the closeness felt right to her. With all this thinking though, she fell right back asleep.

'I'm supposed to be the better trainer. He was nothing compared to me, and yet he beats me. Then I find out that Ash is the son of Giovanni, or my uncle Joe. Apparently a certain genetic trait allows both father and son to predict attacks and come up with strategy to beat their opponents into submission. If he does decide to take up arms against Giovanni, I will be there. I'm not going to let Ash take care of family business.' Garry thought as he was petting his Umbreon. 'He'll get my help whether he likes it or not. This will be a big risk, but risk is what us trainers face everyday.'

He awoke to see her. He gazed upon her red hair, her white skin, and her curving body. She may be a pain in the ass to be around sometimes, but Misty was someone that he loved.
'Why doesn't she go home? She doesn't need to get involved with me and my father. My father...' Ash thought snorting the words out in his head like a Charizard. '...I don't wanna believe that my father is Giovanni, But professor Oak and my mother wouldn't lie. I just don't wanna ruin my life for a crusade that Oak should have taken care of a long time ago.' Ash thought to himself. Then he heard Misty stirring beside him.
"Mornin', Mist," Ash says.
She blushed at that. She always liked when he called her Mist. "Mornin', Ash." she says.
"Look," Ash began.
"Before you get started, listen, if you have to take your father apart, I'm going to be there. I don't care if those three bitches for sisters leave the gym or not. I'm not going to let you tread into danger by yourself." she says interrupting whatever Ash was about to say. All of Ash's defenses were blown out of the water. He couldn't fight back at her argument.
"If I choose to go down this path, it will not be a walk in the park. We are talking about going up against an organization that is world wide." Ash says.
"After being almost killed by three legendary birds, almost killed by Team Rocket trying to save Mewtwo, and almost being obliterated by a bunch of unknown, you would think that this particular danger would be nothing to us." Misty says.
"You've been here from the beginning, so why should I stop you now?" Ash asked. The two just stared at each other for a moment and then it happened. They both leaned forward and their lips met. They were both surprised, but glad that they both knew that one had strong feelings for the other. They didn't stay long because Brock would come looking for them soon.

A few nights later, the three failures of Team Rocket were camped out in the woods trying to catch up with the "twirp."
"How'd da twirp get all da way back ta Pallet so fast?" Meowth asked in his Brooklyn accent.
"Who knew that he'd get back his damned Charizard and fly back to his little hole in the wall." Jessie asked pissed off that they had lost their quarry yet again. James perked up when he heard the sound of a Growlith.
"Say, did you two hear that?" James asked.
"Oh no, don't tell me dhat dais forest is home ta a bunch of Growlith!!" Meowth shrieked shaking at what could happen to him. Then they saw the pup run out of the bushes and tackle James. The blue haired member of the trio knew this Growlith well.
"Growlie, why in the hell are you hear?" James asked.
"Hey, dhere's a note attached to his collar." Meowth says taking it and handing it to James. When he read it, he got this mad man's expression on his face.
"Noooooooo!!!!!!!" James screamed into the night. He fell to his knees crying. Jessie picked up the note and read it. Apparently, James's family was killed in an attack on the estate. She knew right away who did it.
"Our own people did this. Those bastards, those god damned bastards." Jessie says coming over to comfort James.
"Da boss ordered dais. Dhere's something going on around here." Meowth says to himself.

The three cats, Entei, Raikou, and Suicune, were waiting on their reviver's return. What they got at first was another cat. This one stood on its hind legs. He had purple fur and what appeared to be another blood vessel that ran from the back of his head to the top of his spine. Then the reviver, Ho-oh appeared and transformed into his other form.
"Your here as well." Ho-oh stated looking at the psychic cat.
"Their skill would be useful in the upcoming battle." Mewtwo says looking at the three cats.
"I must listen and obey to the protector of all. You, however are not bound by any force. These three will assist you. Myself and Lugia know of your torment. You have a responsibility to the chosen one as we all do. You feel the most because of what you have witnessed. You feel as if you owe him." Ho-oh says knowing that he is right.
"If it were any other human I would not do this, but Ash is not like the others. There maybe humans that would never hurt a pokemon, but Ash would sacrifice himself to protect any pokemon. That is a trait that I respect in him."
"Then the four of you go, and help the chosen one." Ho-oh says. As he says this 26 letters started to circle them.
Mewtwo became annoyed at this. If anything annoyed him more than Mew being silly it was the Unknown. Those letters could cause more havoc than any pokemon on the earth.
"Don't you start. I felt what you did with that girl. You 26 letters are the most annoying thing on this planet." Mewtwo says scowling at the Unknown.
"Unknown, you are not to interfere, Mew commands it. Mewtwo is the only one who does not have to listen." Ho-oh says. Mewtwo and the other cats launched off at ground speeds that a Rapidash couldn't reach.
"How do you run like us?" Raikou asked.
"I use my psychic abilities to run like you three. Now follow me." Mewtwo says and the three comply as they head for the Valley of the clones.

"There he is, and he's with his three friends." Butch says looking through his binoculars.
"We'll just have to kill the lot of them." Cassidy says getting annoyed at her partner's concern.
"I don't see what the trouble is, I mean come on, he's a kid, a stupid kid who just lucked up and beat us three times!" Butch says getting angry that they were not doing something a little less dirty.
"Calm yourself. If the boss wants us to kill someone, we will have to do it. All right, you dan'in fighters, surround those trainers and don't let them escape." Cassidy says pulling out her gun.

The four unexpected trainers, Ash, Misty, Brock, and Tracie; were having a picnic out beside a lake. Ash had needed sometime to think about what he knew he had to do and it was a good distraction. Then they heard someone yell attack and a fight broke out. ALL four of them knew who this was. Team Rocket had decided to make the first move against Ash.
'Well father, looks like you made the decision for me.' Ash thought. "Pikachu start taking down their pokemon." Ash says aloud to his yellow friend.
"pi Pikachu," "I'm on it." Pikachu says and started a barrage of thunder shocks towards the first wave of pokemon.
"Rapidash, stop that Pikachu." Cassidy barked.
"Graveler, stop that Rapidash." Brock says releasing his Graveler and the rock type used rock throw stopping the fire horse in its tracks. As the battle waged on, Cassidy had gotten close enough to fire her gun, but Tracie seeing the situation knocked Ash down and took the bullet. He was killed instantly. This put a fire into Ash's eyes. He threw the rest of his pokemon out and the battle degenerated into a brawl. when Charizard felt his trainer's anger, he began to fire blast anything in his path.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Cassidy had gotten behind and pressed the gun to his back. This would have been the end except for the fact that Pikachu had used zap canon on her knocking her down to the ground. The member of team Rocket was smoldering on the ground paralyzed.
"Retreat!" Butch yelled as he picked up Cassidy and got the hell out of harms way.
Before they could escape though, a thick cloud of smoke came up. Butch recognized the smell as a Weezing. Then he felt a razor leaf cut some of his hair off. Butch realized who was attacking. It was Jessie and James. If they were attacking, then that meant that they knew and had both gone maverick. Once the smoke cleared, the dan'in fighters were on the ground taken out by the Growlith at James's feet.
"Care to be slaughtered like my family, Botch?" James asked with a maniacal look on his face. The green haired man was very afraid now. Ash and the rest of his friends were on one side of him and his rival rockets were on the other side. He did the only thing possible in this sort of situation.
"Drowzy, teleport all of us back to base!" Butch yelled and all of the Team Rocket members were teleported away.

It had been a week since Tracie had died. Ash was still feeling the effects from that, but now he knew what he had to do. That's why he and a few others were sitting around at a table in a small diner between Pallet and Viridian. The circle consisted of Ash, misty, Brock, Garry, James, Jessie, and Meowth. Ash had just explained everything to them.
"That's why they destroyed your family. He's trying to get enough resources to eliminate me." Ash says.
"He just wanted to integrate those ass holes with the dan'in fighters. I don't wanna really work with you, but it would also be stupid to go and do this on my own." James says with a cold, menacing chill to his voice.
"Who else is in? Ash asks looking around the table.
"I'm not missing this for anything in the world." Brock says.
"I already told you my decision." Misty says smiling at him. Ash returns the smile and looks at Garry to see what the other boy would say.
"Your not getting all the glory for destroying Team Rocket, Ash. besides, this is my uncle we're talking about. It's your family as much as its mine." Garry says with an egotistical smile on his face.
"All right, from this moment until Team Rocket is destroyed, we are no longer League Trainers or members of says organization." Apparently, the Avengers struck again and the main headquarters of Team Rocket was destroyed. The leader's dead body was found. It appears that Kanto, and the rest of the world is now free from Team Rocket's rein.
