Peoms and Words
Rei Ayanami was sitting at her apartment one day trying desperately not to throw her pen in frustration. The Eisprinzessin was trying to write a poem, one dedicated to the love of her life Asuka. “Writing about matters of the heart is so much simpler then actually talking about them,” Rei sighed, thinking to herself, “now if only I could figure out what to say.”
Scowling slightly Rei looked out her window at the flower garden her and Asuka had planted several months before. Smiling at the flowers Rei thought for a moment, then feeling a sudden burst of inspiration she began to madly scribble down what she had created inside of her head. Several sheets of paper later Rei slowed down to admire what she had written. “I'm certain that Asuka will just love what I have written.” Rei sighed love in her voice with a triumphant grin on her face.
Asuka arrived home after several hours of forced bonding with Shinji. “I’m home Suss Eisprinzessin.” Asuka called endearing her lover.
“Finally, I have something for you to read.” Rei replied getting up and kissing her lover. Asuka prolonged the kiss for several long minutes feeling peace envelope her soul.
Asuka broke the kiss saying “What is it? A poem?”
“Yes it comes directly from my heart.” Rei replied handing her the sheets of paper.
Asuka took the stack of paper from Rei sitting down to read. Rei looked at Asuka excitedly for her comments on the poem.
“Wow!” Asuka said feeling a tear slip down her cheek “This is beautiful.”
“Then why do you weep my Tenshi?” Rei said hoping in her heart that Asuka didn’t feel grief.
“I’m crying because…I realize that you love me so much more then you ever tell me.” Asuka replied getting up and hugging Rei. Asuka then whispered still weeping, “I love you so much and if I ever have to leave you I’ll come back to you…I promise.”
“I know you will and I love you too.” Rei said holding her lover close and gently kissing away Asuka’s tears “Namida Muyo.”
Asuka pulled away from Rei after several eternities of hugging. She wiped her cheeks saying, “Rei your words here mean more to me then anything ever written down. Please only say them to me.”
Rei looked at Asuka and replied “Don’t worry only you hold my heart, words, and poems.” With that they proceeded to hug and kiss again Rei’s words still lingering in Asuka’s mind.
