Miserable
You know the basic story, Digidestand beat MeloMyotismon, saved the world blah blah blah
Here’s the history, Matt and Sora are now dating so are TK and Kari, Yolie is dating Ken, and Davis, he’s got no one
The school bell rang and everyone started to go in, when Kari and TK got in to the class room and they saw Davis
“Good morning Davis” Kari said cheerfully sitting next to TK
“Is it?” Davis mumbled not even looking at Kari
“What’s wrong with Davis?” Kari asked TK
“I don’t know, but he’s being like that for the last couple of days” TK said, just then the teacher came in and started class
Kari kept on trying talk to Davis during the class and one time the teacher caught her
“Miss Kamiya, can you tell me why you were talking to Mr Motamiya” the teacher asked waiting an answer, then Davis stood up and said
“Sir, it is my fault, I talked to Kari first”
“Well in that case Mr Motamiya you’ve just got your self a detention, Miss Kamiya, I apologise now sit down both of you so I can continue with the lesson”
Both Kari and Davis sat down and got on with their work, at break Kari talked to Davis
“Thanks for taking the dive for me Davis, sorry you’ve got a detention” Kari said smiling slightly
“Don’t mention it” Davis sighed looking at the floor, Kari suddenly stopped Davis and asked
“Davis why aren’t you looking at me? And why are you so miserable?” Kari asked but Davis said nothing and just continued walking
Half way down the hall Davis bumped in to Yolie
“Sorry” Davis muted and walked around Yolie before she could ask any questions
“What’s wrong with him?” Yolie asked her self while cleaning her glasses with her top
Davis climbed the stairs to the roof and opened the door, he put his bag down to keep the door open so it wouldn’t lock him on the roof, Davis heaved a big sigh and walked over to the side of he roof and looked down at the school field. He saw people holding hands, kissing, laughing and all together having a good time with the one they love. Who has Davis got? No one, apart from his digimon partner and his family, and some times that wasn’t enough. Davis heaved another sigh as the bell rang for the next lesson, Davis walked over to door grabbed his bag and headed for his classroom.
On the other side of town Matt was watching Sora play a game of tennis with one of her friends
“That was a good game” Matt said handing Sora a water bottle
“Thanks” Sora pants as she takes a drink of water
“You look like you need a shower” Matt says picking up Sora’s bag
“I don’t like shower’s, I can never fully wash my back unless some on helps me” Sora said smiling walking towards the showers, wiggling her ass at Matt who smile’s and runs to catch up with Sora and pinch’s her ass making her giggle
Yolie was in the science lab when she suddenly smelt gas but none of the gas taps were on, Yolie suddenly realised it was a gas leak and shouted
“No body light anything, there’s a gas leak”
But it was already to late as the teacher lit a match; Yolie dived to the floor, as there was an explosion. Yolie stood up coughing and looking around; no one was hurt except for the teacher who looked crispier than some KFC chicken. Fire was spreading fast and Yolie ran out in to the hallway and she hit the fire alarm, the fire alarm bell rang through out the inter school. The boys and girls that were in Yolie class came stumbling out and headed for the exit and so did Yolie, next thing she knew black smoke was coming out of the science lab and people came running out of their classrooms
Davis, TK and Kari heard the fire bell and they got up to leave with the rest of the class, then people started to push and shove
“Stay behind me Kari” TK shouted as he got pushed out into the hallway, Kari fell to the ground as people shoved her. Davis saw this happen. He could feel the heat of the flames as they could be seen out in the hallway; Davis fought against the crowd to get to Kari who was being stepped on. When Davis got to Kari and picked her up the flames were just entering the room
“What are we going to do?” Kari coughed
“I know where to go” Davis said as he pulled Kari in to the hallway, as he thought, the hallway was blocked by fire. Davis pulled Kari up some stairs towards the roof, Davis kicked the door open, he ran through it then he slammed it shut
“What are we going to do now?” Kari asks and starts to cry
Davis grabs Kari by the shoulders and looks at her straight in the eyes
“Kari listen to me, you need to be strong and I know a way down” Davis says sternly and Kari stopped crying and looked Davis in the eye and she saw a kind of fire there
“Ok” Kari whispers not able to stop looking at those determined eye’s
“Follow me” Davis says grabbing one of Kari’s hands and running over to the edge and showing Kari a ladder that led to the ground “Go down this ladder, it’s the only way down”
“But what if I fall, I’ll die” Kari says backing away from the edge
“I’ll go first, if you fall I’ll catch you now lets go” Davis shouted as he climbed down the ladder, Kari started to climb down the ladder just as the door blew open and fire shot out of it
Davis and Kari quickly climbed down the ladder and as Kari was next to a window it exploded sending glass shard’s into Kari’s face, Kari covered her face with her arms and she began to fall
“Kari” Davis shouted and he grabbed Kari’s ankle
“Thanks” Kari gasped as she grabbed the ladder and Davis let go of her ankle and they start to climb down again
“Kari, Kari where are you” TK shouted looking through the crowd
“TK, TK over here” Kari shouted as she and Davis run around the corner,
“Thank god your ok Kari” TK said as he hugged Kari and kissed her
Davis started to walk away when he felt a hand on his shoulder, Davis turned around as saw Kari smiling
“I just want to say thanks, for saving my life” Kari said and she kissed Davis on the cheek
“You don’t need to thank me Kari, your my friend” Davis said and he started to walk off again “On the bright side, I wont have to do that detention now” Davis shouted back smiling a little.
On the other side of town Matt and Sora were in the showers
“Come on big boy” Sora said kissing Matt and rapping her legs around Matt’s waist and sat on his dick, it penetrated her deeply making her moan. “I’ve saved the life of millions when I helped beat MeloMyotismon, do you see people crowding around me to say thanks?” Davis said raising his voice a little, he then took a deep breath and calmed down
“I think you should leave Tai” Davis said getting up and heading for his room
“Don’t mind him,” Jun said from the kitchen “He’s been like that for a few days now”
“Yeah, that’s what worry’s me” Tai sighed getting up and putting his shoe’s on and left
Yolie was a bit shaken up from what had happened
“Here Yolie drink this” Ken said giving Yolie a glass of water and she drank some of it
“Are you sure your ok Yolie” Hawkmon asks, worried for his partner
“Yes I’m fine, the worst thing I got was a few singed hair’s” Yolie joked “But have you heard what Davis and Kari did?”
“No, I have not” Hawkmon said
“Me neither” Ken said, Yolie tells them what Davis and Kari did and Ken and Hawkmon sat there in shock
“Good thing Davis can keep a cool head in bad situations” Ken said when Yolie had finished telling them what had happened
“I hope every one else is all right” Hawkmon said
“A few people got burned but other than that, every one was all right” Yolie said
“Any idea when the school will be reopened?” Ken asked
“Not a clue” Yolie sighed leaning back and closing her eyes
Davis was leaning against the balcony sipping on a grape fruit drink when he heard a knock the door, he looked over his shoulder to see Gatomon standing there
“Can I help you with something Gatomon?” Davis asked as he took a swig from his bottle
“I think you know what I’m wanting to say” Gatomon sighed looking at the floor “And I know I don’t have to thank you but you know how means Kari to me” Gatomon said
“She means a lot to me too” Davis sighed before taking another swig of his drink
“Davis what’s the matter, you’ve been miserable for days now” Gatomon asked a she walked up to him and jumped on to the edge of the balcony “I won’t tell any one, I promise”
“It’s Kari” Davis sighed “I feel like she’s drifting away from me”
“What do you mean?” Gatomon asked
“When I touch her I feel like she’s just out of my reach, I feel like I’m loosing her” Davis said
“She was my first friend when I came to this school and I’ve always felt that we were close friends, but now I feel like she’s drifting away from me” Davis said looking more miserable than ever
“And I’m starting to feel lonely” Davis sighed finishing his drink and slumping against the wall of the balcony
“But you’ve got other friends” Gatomon said
“Sorry Gatomon, but I don’t get the same feeling of friendship from them as I do from Kari” Davis sighed and closed his eyes and rested his head against the wall
“I need some time alone” Davis said and Gatomon got the hint
“Guess I’ll see you later then” Gatomon sighed and walked over to the door and left
Later on Kari was at TK’s and they were lying on the couch kissing
“You know what” Kari said breaking the kiss “Now we don’t have to go to school we’ve all got a lot of time on our hands”
“What are you suggesting Kari?” TK asked, one thought came to mind and with out knowing it he began to smile a bit
“Not what your thinking TK, I’m thinking we should all go on a camping trip” Kari said getting of the top of TK
“Well I think it’s a good idea, but which grown up will take us and who can come?” TK asked
“Why don’t we see who can come first, that way we’ll know how many people are coming, then we’ll ask a grown up” Kari said “I’ll call Yolie, Davis, Cody, Sora and Matt. You call every one else”
“Ok” TK said getting up of the couch and bring the phone over, Kari grabbed it and started to dial Yolie’s number
“Hello” some one said on the end
“Hi is Yolie there?” Kari asked
“Hang on” the person said, a couple of minutes later Kari heard Yolie’s voice
“Hi Kari” she said
“Hi Yolie, me and TK are planning a camping trip and we wanted to ask if you could come” Kari said
“When is it?” Yolie asked
“About a weeks time” Kari said
“Hang on, I’ll ask my mom and dad” Yolie said, a couple of minutes later Yolie came back to the phone “I can go, what sort of things do I need to bring?” Yolie asked
“The usual, tents, snacks, things to keep you entertained, stuff like that” Kari said
“OK, catch you later” Yolie said putting the phone down
“Well that’s one for the list, lets see what’s Davis number?” Kari said trying to remember it and she started to dial Davis number
“Hello” Jun’s voice said through the phone after a couple of rings
“Hi Jun is Davis there?” Kari asked
“Yeah hold on” Jun said
“Hello” Davis said in to the phone a couple of seconds later
“Hi Davis, me and TK are planning a camping trip and wondered if you could come” Kari said
“When is it?” Davis asked
“In a weeks time” Kari told him
“Hang on” Davis said, a couple of minutes later he returned “I can go, I’ll talk to you later” Davis said and hung up
“That’s another for our list, lets try Cody” Kari says
Later on Kari and TK had a good list of people
“Let see we’ve got Ken and Yolie, Davis, Matt and Sora and Tai. Including you and me we’ve got eight people” TK said checking the list
“Which grown up is going to take us?” Kari asks
“I’ll ask my mom” TK says getting up and he went to the kitchen, when he returned he had a smile on his face “Mom says she’ll take some time off to take us”
“That’s great, now all we need to do is get everything need” Kari said
A week later and everybody that was going were out side the building where TK and Yolie live; TK’s mum had hired a large mini-van for the next few weeks.
“Every one ready to go?” TK’s mum asked
“Yep” every one replied
“Then put your luggage in the back then climb in” she said, everyone put their stuff in the back then climbed in, Tai sat up front with TK’s mom, Davis got a window seat and TK and Kari sat next to him, much to his annoyance
Ken and Yolie sat behind them and Matt and Sora sat next to them, as they were driving down the highway TK and Kari started to kiss, Davis felt his and Kari’s friendship slip even more and he just looked out the window. When they got to the campsite the man behind the desk told them where to pitch their tents; they grabbed their stuff from the van and headed to where they were supposed to go. The first thing they did was set up their tents, Davis did his easily enough, the others how ever, and they needed help. Davis helped them out and when everyone had their tent up Davis retreated into his
“I wonder what’s bugging Davis” Kari thought as she unpacked her sleeping bag in her tent, later on when every one had unpacked TK’s mom called everyone out of their tents
“We need some water and some other stuff so I need you to help me bring some back from town, three of you can stay here but the others will have to come” she said
“I’ll come” Davis volunteered
“Same here” Tai said
“We’ll go” Matt and Sora said
“I’ll come with” Kari said
“That means you three stay here,” his mom said and they set off. When they got in to town and bout all the stuff they need for the trip it was starting to get dark.
Matt and Tai were carrying a box of water each, Sora and Kari were carrying a box of food each and Davis and TK’s mom were carrying a box of food, water and bug relent
“This box is really heavy” Kari said to Sora when they were half way back
“Ill swap you, this box is lighter” Davis said hearing Kari
“Oh err alright” Kari said swapping boxes with Davis, and he was right, it was lighter
“I see what you mean Kari, this box is heavy” Davis said weighing the box with his hands, he then lifted it up and rested it on his shoulder and walked faster. By time they got back TK had lit a fire
“Hi” he said
“Hey TK” Kari said putting her box down and kissing him, Davis put his box down and headed for his tent when Sora stopped him
“Why don’t you have something too” she suggested
“Later” he said miserably, not looking her in the eyes and he walked past her and got in to his tent and he zipped up the entrance
Inside his tent Davis pulled out a bottle of grapefruit and opened it, he drank a quarter of it in one go then he pulled out a picture and looked at it. The picture was of the digidestand, new and old, every one was their even Mimi. In the picture Davis had put his arm around Kari’s shoulder and he had leaned in to kiss Kari on the cheek, Kari, took no notice and kissed TK on the lips making Davis look like a fool, from that day, Davis felt his and Kari friendship slipping away. Davis threw the picture to one side and he drank some more of his drink, when Davis came out of his tent everyone was roasting marshmallows
“Hi Davis, one want to roast some marshmallows?” Kari asked
“Yeah, alright” Davis said and sat next to Kari, she passed a large twig and some marshmallows and Davis shoved one on the end and held it just above the fire. Davis looked around the campfire and he saw TK’s mom eating a roasted marshmallow and Tai laughing at something that Matt said while Matt shared his marshmallow with Sora.
He saw Yolie resting her head on Ken shoulder while he roasted both their marshmallows and right next to him TK was kissing Kari deeply. Davis sighed and got up and walked away from camp
“Davis, where are you going?”” TK’s mom asked
“I’m going for a walk, I need to be with my thoughts right now” Davis sighed
“If he’s gets any” Yolie whispered
“Now is not the time Yolie” Davis shot at her making her jump and he walked off
As Davis walked by himself he thought about Kari’s last birthday, he had got a silver locket with the crest of light carved on the inside and ‘To Kari, Love from Davis’ carved on the back. He had planned to give his present to Kari first but TK got there first, he gave Kari a small brown envelope and she opened it. Kari pulled out two tickets and a card with an address on it, Kari looked at the tickets and her eyes started to sparkle
“TK, are these tickets-“ Kari began
“Tickets to your favourite band, plus a limousine to get you there and the address on the card is to direct you to a five star hotel where I’ve booked you a penthouse sweet with all expenses paid” he finished smiling
Kari grabbed him and pulled him in to a deep kiss
“You think you’ll be able to come with me?” Kari asked breaking the kiss
Davis was shocked, he had been saving up for months for the locket and he wanted to give his present to Kari first so she would appreciate it at least for a couple of minutes. But if Davis gave it to her now, it wouldn’t mean the same. Davis quietly and quickly left the party, and nobody seemed to notice.
Davis pulled the locket out from under his shirt and he looked at it, he didn’t know what to do, every special occasion where there was a chance to give Kari a present TK always got Kari a better present than Davis. Davis felt the engraved words on the back with his thumb and burst in to tears
Back at camp nearly every one was a sleep, Kari was still up and she was waiting for Davis to return, she lay on the ground looking at the stars, listening for some footsteps, but heard none. Kari shivered and put another piece of wood on the fire, she sighed and looked at the stars again, she started to count how many stars she could see but soon fell a sleep. Not long after that Davis came back to camp and found Kari sleeping and she was shivering slightly from the cold, he went to his tent and pulled out a large coat and put it on top of Kari to keep her warm. He headed for his tent and before he went in he looked Kari again, she looked peaceful when she slept, as if nothing could go wrong
“If only my life was like that” Davis thought as he zipped up his tent
When Kari woke up she could feel something on top of her, when she opened her eyes she saw the coat on top of her and she checked the name on the inside
“So he did return last night,” Kari thought as she got up and unzipped Davis tent, she placed the coat beside his sleeping bag and looked at Davis face, he looked worried even in his sleep. Kari then saw something shine from the light that was coming in through the gap in Davis hand; Kari crept in, careful not to wake Davis and gently pulled it out of his hand. Kari had to cover her mouth with her hand to stop her self from gasping.
It was a beautiful silver locket, Kari opened it and saw a picture of her and the crest of light engraved on the inside, Kari turned it over and saw the words ‘To Kari, love from Davis’. Kari was shocked, this was meant for her
“It was for your last birthday” Kari heard a raspy voice say, Kari looked at Davis and saw he was awake and he looked sadder than ever, he pulled open his sleeping bag and Kari saw he was wearing the same jeans he was yesterday
Davis grabbed a T-shirt and headed for the opening and Kari closely followed,
“Davis…” Kari whispered and Davis stopped “Is this the reason your sad all the time?”
Davis pulled a picture out of his back pocket and gave it to Kari
“Remember that time, it was after we beat MeloMyotismon” Davis asked
“Of course I remember it” Kari said, her voice returning to normal slightly
“Look at me in the picture” he said, Kari looked at him in the picture and he looked like a fool
“Why’d you take that position, you look like a fool” Kari said, careful with her words
“The reason I look like a fool Hikari, is because I tried to kiss you that day, on the cheek” Davis said snatching the picture out of her hand
“But just before I did you turned around and kissed TK, Making me look like a fool and breaking my heart” Davis said raising his voice with anger
Davis grabbed the locket and put it on around his neck
“And that is why, Miss Hikari Kamiya, I’m all ways miserable” Davis shouted from anger, he then put his T-shirt on and stormed off
“Kari” someone said behind Kari “What was that all about?”
Kari turned around and saw Tai
“I’m the reason Davis is miserable” Kari said tears in her eyes.

She shook a little as it rippled through her body and Sora took a quick deep breath as she slumped on to Matt’s dick, gasping for air
“That was amazing” Matt said breathing deeply
“Yeah” was the only thing Sora could say before she fall a sleep
Later on that evening Tai came round to Davis place
“I just want to say thanks for saving my little sister from the fire, and the detention” Tai said sitting down
“Tai, I’ll tell you what I told Kari, you don’t need to thank me, I’m a friend” Davis said sitting opposite Tai
“Yeah but you saved her life” Tai said
“I’ve saved the life of millions when I helped beat MeloMyotismon, do you see people crowding around me to say thanks?” Davis said raising his voice a little, he then took a deep breath and calmed down
“I think you should leave Tai” Davis said getting up and heading for his room
“Don’t mind him,” Jun said from the kitchen “He’s been like that for a few days now”
“Yeah, that’s what worry’s me” Tai sighed getting up and putting his shoe’s on and left
Yolie was a bit shaken up from what had happened
“Here Yolie drink this” Ken said giving Yolie a glass of water and she drank some of it
“Are you sure your ok Yolie” Hawkmon asks, worried for his partner
“Yes I’m fine, the worst thing I got was a few singed hair’s” Yolie joked “But have you heard what Davis and Kari did?”
“No, I have not” Hawkmon said
“Me neither” Ken said, Yolie tells them what Davis and Kari did and Ken and Hawkmon sat there in shock
“Good thing Davis can keep a cool head in bad situations” Ken said when Yolie had finished telling them what had happened
“I hope every one else is all right” Hawkmon said
“A few people got burned but other than that, every one was all right” Yolie said
“Any idea when the school will be reopened?” Ken asked
“Not a clue” Yolie sighed leaning back and closing her eyes
Davis was leaning against the balcony sipping on a grape fruit drink when he heard a knock the door, he looked over his shoulder to see Gatomon standing there
“Can I help you with something Gatomon?” Davis asked as he took a swig from his bottle
“I think you know what I’m wanting to say” Gatomon sighed looking at the floor “And I know I don’t have to thank you but you know how means Kari to me” Gatomon said
“She means a lot to me too” Davis sighed before taking another swig of his drink
“Davis what’s the matter, you’ve been miserable for days now” Gatomon asked a she walked up to him and jumped on to the edge of the balcony “I won’t tell any one, I promise”
“It’s Kari” Davis sighed “I feel like she’s drifting away from me”
“What do you mean?” Gatomon asked
“When I touch her I feel like she’s just out of my reach, I feel like I’m loosing her” Davis said
“She was my first friend when I came to this school and I’ve always felt that we were close friends, but now I feel like she’s drifting away from me” Davis said looking more miserable than ever
“And I’m starting to feel lonely” Davis sighed finishing his drink and slumping against the wall of the balcony
“But you’ve got other friends” Gatomon said
“Sorry Gatomon, but I don’t get the same feeling of friendship from them as I do from Kari” Davis sighed and closed his eyes and rested his head against the wall
“I need some time alone” Davis said and Gatomon got the hint
“Guess I’ll see you later then” Gatomon sighed and walked over to the door and left
Later on Kari was at TK’s and they were lying on the couch kissing
“You know what” Kari said breaking the kiss “Now we don’t have to go to school we’ve all got a lot of time on our hands”
“What are you suggesting Kari?” TK asked, one thought came to mind and with out knowing it he began to smile a bit
“Not what your thinking TK, I’m thinking we should all go on a camping trip” Kari said getting of the top of TK
“Well I think it’s a good idea, but which grown up will take us and who can come?” TK asked
“Why don’t we see who can come first, that way we’ll know how many people are coming, then we’ll ask a grown up” Kari said “I’ll call Yolie, Davis, Cody, Sora and Matt. You call every one else”
“Ok” TK said getting up of the couch and bring the phone over, Kari grabbed it and started to dial Yolie’s number
“Hello” some one said on the end
“Hi is Yolie there?” Kari asked
“Hang on” the person said, a couple of minutes later Kari heard Yolie’s voice
“Hi Kari” she said
“Hi Yolie, me and TK are planning a camping trip and we wanted to ask if you could come” Kari said
“When is it?” Yolie asked
“About a weeks time” Kari said
“Hang on, I’ll ask my mom and dad” Yolie said, a couple of minutes later Yolie came back to the phone “I can go, what sort of things do I need to bring?” Yolie asked
“The usual, tents, snacks, things to keep you entertained, stuff like that” Kari said
“OK, catch you later” Yolie said putting the phone down
“Well that’s one for the list, lets see what’s Davis number?” Kari said trying to remember it and she started to dial Davis number
“Hello” Jun’s voice said through the phone after a couple of rings
“Hi Jun is Davis there?” Kari asked
“Yeah hold on” Jun said
“Hello” Davis said in to the phone a couple of seconds later
“Hi Davis, me and TK are planning a camping trip and wondered if you could come” Kari said
“When is it?” Davis asked
“In a weeks time” Kari told him
“Hang on” Davis said, a couple of minutes later he returned “I can go, I’ll talk to you later” Davis said and hung up
“That’s another for our list, lets try Cody” Kari says
Later on Kari and TK had a good list of people
“Let see we’ve got Ken and Yolie, Davis, Matt and Sora and Tai. Including you and me we’ve got eight people” TK said checking the list
“Which grown up is going to take us?” Kari asks
“I’ll ask my mom” TK says getting up and he went to the kitchen, when he returned he had a smile on his face “Mom says she’ll take some time off to take us”
“That’s great, now all we need to do is get everything need” Kari said
A week later and everybody that was going were out side the building where TK and Yolie live; TK’s mum had hired a large mini-van for the next few weeks.
“Every one ready to go?” TK’s mum asked
“Yep” every one replied
“Then put your luggage in the back then climb in” she said, everyone put their stuff in the back then climbed in, Tai sat up front with TK’s mom, Davis got a window seat and TK and Kari sat next to him, much to his annoyance
Ken and Yolie sat behind them and Matt and Sora sat next to them, as they were driving down the highway TK and Kari started to kiss, Davis felt his and Kari’s friendship slip even more and he just looked out the window. When they got to the campsite the man behind the desk told them where to pitch their tents; they grabbed their stuff from the van and headed to where they were supposed to go. The first thing they did was set up their tents, Davis did his easily enough, the others how ever, and they needed help. Davis helped them out and when everyone had their tent up Davis retreated into his
“I wonder what’s bugging Davis” Kari thought as she unpacked her sleeping bag in her tent, later on when every one had unpacked TK’s mom called everyone out of their tents
“We need some water and some other stuff so I need you to help me bring some back from town, three of you can stay here but the others will have to come” she said
“I’ll come” Davis volunteered
“Same here” Tai said
“We’ll go” Matt and Sora said
“I’ll come with” Kari said
“That means you three stay here,” his mom said and they set off. When they got in to town and bout all the stuff they need for the trip it was starting to get dark.
Matt and Tai were carrying a box of water each, Sora and Kari were carrying a box of food each and Davis and TK’s mom were carrying a box of food, water and bug relent
“This box is really heavy” Kari said to Sora when they were half way back
“Ill swap you, this box is lighter” Davis said hearing Kari
“Oh err alright” Kari said swapping boxes with Davis, and he was right, it was lighter
“I see what you mean Kari, this box is heavy” Davis said weighing the box with his hands, he then lifted it up and rested it on his shoulder and walked faster. By time they got back TK had lit a fire
“Hi” he said
“Hey TK” Kari said putting her box down and kissing him, Davis put his box down and headed for his tent when Sora stopped him
“Why don’t you have something too” she suggested
“Later” he said miserably, not looking her in the eyes and he walked past her and got in to his tent and he zipped up the entrance
Inside his tent Davis pulled out a bottle of grapefruit and opened it, he drank a quarter of it in one go then he pulled out a picture and looked at it. The picture was of the digidestand, new and old, every one was their even Mimi. In the picture Davis had put his arm around Kari’s shoulder and he had leaned in to kiss Kari on the cheek, Kari, took no notice and kissed TK on the lips making Davis look like a fool, from that day, Davis felt his and Kari friendship slipping away. Davis threw the picture to one side and he drank some more of his drink, when Davis came out of his tent everyone was roasting marshmallows
“Hi Davis, one want to roast some marshmallows?” Kari asked
“Yeah, alright” Davis said and sat next to Kari, she passed a large twig and some marshmallows and Davis shoved one on the end and held it just above the fire. Davis looked around the campfire and he saw TK’s mom eating a roasted marshmallow and Tai laughing at something that Matt said while Matt shared his marshmallow with Sora.
He saw Yolie resting her head on Ken shoulder while he roasted both their marshmallows and right next to him TK was kissing Kari deeply. Davis sighed and got up and walked away from camp
“Davis, where are you going?”” TK’s mom asked
“I’m going for a walk, I need to be with my thoughts right now” Davis sighed
“If he’s gets any” Yolie whispered
“Now is not the time Yolie” Davis shot at her making her jump and he walked off
As Davis walked by himself he thought about Kari’s last birthday, he had got a silver locket with the crest of light carved on the inside and ‘To Kari, Love from Davis’ carved on the back. He had planned to give his present to Kari first but TK got there first, he gave Kari a small brown envelope and she opened it. Kari pulled out two tickets and a card with an address on it, Kari looked at the tickets and her eyes started to sparkle
“TK, are these tickets-“ Kari began
“Tickets to your favourite band, plus a limousine to get you there and the address on the card is to direct you to a five star hotel where I’ve booked you a penthouse sweet with all expenses paid” he finished smiling
Kari grabbed him and pulled him in to a deep kiss
“You think you’ll be able to come with me?” Kari asked breaking the kiss
Davis was shocked, he had been saving up for months for the locket and he wanted to give his present to Kari first so she would appreciate it at least for a couple of minutes. But if Davis gave it to her now, it wouldn’t mean the same. Davis quietly and quickly left the party, and nobody seemed to notice.
Davis pulled the locket out from under his shirt and he looked at it, he didn’t know what to do, every special occasion where there was a chance to give Kari a present TK always got Kari a better present than Davis. Davis felt the engraved words on the back with his thumb and burst in to tears
Back at camp nearly every one was a sleep, Kari was still up and she was waiting for Davis to return, she lay on the ground looking at the stars, listening for some footsteps, but heard none. Kari shivered and put another piece of wood on the fire, she sighed and looked at the stars again, she started to count how many stars she could see but soon fell a sleep. Not long after that Davis came back to camp and found Kari sleeping and she was shivering slightly from the cold, he went to his tent and pulled out a large coat and put it on top of Kari to keep her warm. He headed for his tent and before he went in he looked Kari again, she looked peaceful when she slept, as if nothing could go wrong
“If only my life was like that” Davis thought as he zipped up his tent
When Kari woke up she could feel something on top of her, when she opened her eyes she saw the coat on top of her and she checked the name on the inside
“So he did return last night,” Kari thought as she got up and unzipped Davis tent, she placed the coat beside his sleeping bag and looked at Davis face, he looked worried even in his sleep. Kari then saw something shine from the light that was coming in through the gap in Davis hand; Kari crept in, careful not to wake Davis and gently pulled it out of his hand. Kari had to cover her mouth with her hand to stop her self from gasping.
It was a beautiful silver locket, Kari opened it and saw a picture of her and the crest of light engraved on the inside, Kari turned it over and saw the words ‘To Kari, love from Davis’. Kari was shocked, this was meant for her
“It was for your last birthday” Kari heard a raspy voice say, Kari looked at Davis and saw he was awake and he looked sadder than ever, he pulled open his sleeping bag and Kari saw he was wearing the same jeans he was yesterday
Davis grabbed a T-shirt and headed for the opening and Kari closely followed,
“Davis…” Kari whispered and Davis stopped “Is this the reason your sad all the time?”
Davis pulled a picture out of his back pocket and gave it to Kari
“Remember that time, it was after we beat MeloMyotismon” Davis asked
“Of course I remember it” Kari said, her voice returning to normal slightly
“Look at me in the picture” he said, Kari looked at him in the picture and he looked like a fool
“Why’d you take that position, you look like a fool” Kari said, careful with her words
“The reason I look like a fool Hikari, is because I tried to kiss you that day, on the cheek” Davis said snatching the picture out of her hand
“But just before I did you turned around and kissed TK, Making me look like a fool and breaking my heart” Davis said raising his voice with anger
Davis grabbed the locket and put it on around his neck
“And that is why, Miss Hikari Kamiya, I’m all ways miserable” Davis shouted from anger, he then put his T-shirt on and stormed off
“Kari” someone said behind Kari “What was that all about?”
Kari turned around and saw Tai
“I’m the reason Davis is miserable” Kari said tears in her eyes.
