Legalities & Warnings

The following series contains characters created by Clamp. This series also contains characters and concepts created by whiteshirt. For those who like the original version of the anime you shouldn't read this. I'm using the Nelvana continuity to frame this story. So, don't complain if you hate the dubbed version and you willingly read a story using that version of the anime. I've decided to consider the original Japanese version and the Nelvana version two different time lines. before I forget, most of the new cards seen in this story are probably not mine. The villains are mine though. This starts after Eli explains everything and Lee tells Sakura that he has to go home. I can't guarantee lemons in every chapter, but I'll try for some adult content in each part.

He was alone in the dark, cool night. He was gently swinging low on one of the swing sets in the park. Lee Shaoran was alone with his thoughts. He had been sent out by Wei, his butler, to get some fresh air. Most of their packing had been done, and he would be leaving soon. If one was in tuned with magic, one could feel that his aura was sad and depressed.
'I know what will happen the moment that I get home. The elders will have a harsh punishment for me. My mother was the only reason that I was able to stay and help Sakura get through all of Eli's tests. Now, the elders will probably put me through harsher training and try to convince Meilin and me to marry. Four years and what have I to show for it but nothing except for the fact that I'm in love with Sakura. I'm too much of a coward to tell her though.' Lee thinks to himself.
"Lee," a soft voice says breaking him out of his depressing thoughts. He turns to see the source of his thoughts.
"Sakura, what are you doing out here?" Lee asks getting off the swing. 'She's a green eyed angel.' Lee thinks and almost blushes from that thought.
"I felt your aura out here and I was wondering what you were doing at the park."
"Wei said I needed a bit of fresh air. Our packing is almost done."
"I wish you didn't have to go."
"I wish I could stay longer too." Lee says then gets a thoughtful look on his face. 'Maybe, I can tell her without telling her. She might be too dense to pick up on the hints, but for once I might just have some luck on my side.' Lee ponders planning out what he was about to tell her. There's another reason why I'd want to stay." he says allowing his blush to break through his control.
"What?" she asks not noticing his blush.
"You know in the beginning I wasn't the nicest person to be around. I was uncomfortable around others and I just wanted to compete for the cards. Eventually though, I changed because of one person. I encountered this clumsy, dense girl. I didn't care for her at first, but I saw qualities in her that I found endearing. I found myself falling for the girl, but I know that I don't have a chance. She's got an overprotective brother who'd grind my bones into dust. Not to mention the fact that she may have a crush on her brother's best friend, or she may be in a secret relationship with her own best friend. So, I've decided it would be better not to tell her and protect myself from rejection." Lee explains watching for Sakura's reaction. Sakura looks thoughtful herself as she tries to figure out who Lee was talking about. When she starts to put all the facts together her eyes widen a bit in surprise. The only girl who could fit all the facts was her.
"Me?" she asks in a small voice. To say Lee was shocked was an understatement. He didn't think that she would be able to put it together at all.
"How did you figure it out?"
"I'm the only one who has a brother that is that bad and who has had rumors about her being in a relationship with another girl."
"And Julian?"
"He only sees me as his little sister as well." Sakura says coming closer to Lee.
"I...I...do love you, Sakura Avalon." Lee stutters out while blushing. He finally admitted it, but now the ball was in Sakura's court. The next thing Lee feels is Sakura hugging him tight and her tears falling onto his shoulder.
"I love you too, Lee Shaoran." she manages to say through her tears and he puts an arm around the girl.
"I swear on my love for you that if my family's elders don't kill me that I will find a way back to you." he says passionately as he continues to hold his beloved. What the pair didn't know and couldn't feel due to the fact that it was subtle was that a magical promise of love had been made. Their auras now were bonded and the two would be far more sensitive to each other's magic. This would be the first step in the creation of the most powerful magical bond ever seen.

"I sent him out for some fresh air...ah, there he is now." Wei says to someone on the phone as Lee comes back into the apartment.
"Who's on the phone, Wei?" Lee asks coming over to him.
"It's your mother, she needs to speak with you." Wei says and hands him the phone which Lee takes.
"Hello mother, I'll be home..." Lee starts, but his mother cuts in.
"Lee, listen to me. I have been having dark visions ever since the last cards were transformed. I don't remember much about them, but I get this feeling that if you don't stay in Readington whatever this darkness is it will overwhelm the card mistress. I want you to stay there and help her my son."
"What about the elders, and we've just finished packing..."
"The elders will have to deal with me. I've also told Wei to find a bigger apartment since I'll also be sending Meilin back to Readington as well."
"Meilin? She can't,"
"She may not be magically gifted, but she's been training her body almost to the breaking point. She's become better than most of our adult fighters in the family."
"When will she be here?"
"Expect her on Monday."
"I understand mother. Is there anything else?"
"No, just take care of yourself and keep the mistress safe."
"I will." Lee says and his mother hangs up. The young mage starts to feel an invisible weight fall upon his shoulders.
"Are you all right, Lee?" Wei asks seeing his young charge become quite distraught.
"I don't know if I can handle what my mother is seeing in her dreams. I'm not as strong as..."
"Don't doubt yourself Lee. It was you who was able to help Sakura change those last cards. You just need to learn to focus your energies, strengthen the bonds with the elements that you already have a strong connection with, and learn to strengthen the connections with those elements that you have weak bonds with." Wei says slipping into teacher mode. Lee sighs and decides that he would need to get some sleep, it was going to be a long weekend.

He was the local pool shark of Readington. He always won and always beat those who thought that they were the best. The older teenager was not in a good mood though. He had decided to play against a kid who was about a few years younger than him and shouldn't be able to win. However, the skinny glasses wearing punk had beaten him eight straight times in a row! Then, to his horror, he saw the eight ball drop into the pocket signifying the guy's ninth straight loss tonight.
"I believe that you now owe me $212.25," the skinny boy says and double checks his calculations in his head to make sure he was right.
"How can a skinny fourteen year old punk be that good at this game!" the guy says ready to crack his pool cue over the younger boy's head.
"It's a game of angles and mathematical computations. I have been told that I've got a knack for those." the kid replies smiling. "Now, are you going to pay, or are we going to go for double or nothing again with a quarter per ball and a one dollar penalty for scratching?"
"I've got a better idea." the older guy says and makes a move to smack the younger boy with his stick, but a hand grabs onto him halting his attack.
"I suggest you don't do that or you won't be playing for a long time." a male with an European accent in his voice says from behind the older boy. He turns his head to see a tall, blond kid who looked like he was probably the skinny kid's muscles.
"I didn't know that he was a professional shark. I'll pay. There's no need to sick him on me." the older boy says backing down.
"Wulf(1) is just watching out for my best interests." the skinny boy says giving the blond a knowing look.
"Besides, you taking that pool stick and whacking Josh(2) over the head isn't very sporting." the blond, now known as Wulf to the older boy, says returning Josh's look.
"Ok, here's the money." the older boy says handing Josh, the skinny boy that had beaten him, the night's winnings. Josh makes a quick count to insure that all the money was there.
"Good game, maybe we can play again." Josh says and the older boy walks away grumbling to himself saying something to the effect of staying away from the pool hall for a while.

"Thanks for backing me up back there, but what are you doing in this normal town." Josh asks, putting the emphasis on the word "normal", as the two walk the streets of Readington.
"I wouldn't call this town normal if my family's seers got premonitions for me to come here." Wulf responds as they turn a corner.
"What sort of paranormal/supernatural creature is it this time?"
"Don't know, but my last visit back home was troublesome. Someone dropped off one of our family's greatest enemies, but all of her blood had been completely drained. No one should have the power to do that."
"You mean..."
"Yep, we went on ahead and took care of her corpse, but no one should have been able to do that to her. That means that there's another vampire stronger than her and now has her blood flowing through their veins." Wulf says and Josh rubs his temples.
"You know, for once we need to bump into each other without needing to save the world quietly."
"I'm beginning to believe that we are part of a nexus, but we've not found the rest of them."
"The odds are quite low on finding others with abilities beyond most normal people. I mean there's just no way that we could just bump into two mages and a female with your fighting ability."
"Hm, a warrior woman...I like the sound of that."
"Get your mind out of the gutter. So, when are you starting school?"
"Tuesday,"
"Same here, that can't be good." Josh says and Wulf smiles. It was going to be interesting here in Readington.

A man in read robes with a flaming sun being eclipsed by a blood red moon stands out in the middle of no where. He had told that underling of his to meet him here. Apparently, the fool had gotten himself killed, but then he hears a teleportation spell deactivate and a large bat now stands on the man's shoulder.
"You're late Akurax." the human says to the bat.
"My apologies lord Sian Reed. Her blood was unsettling my stomach. I had to rest for days before her powers integrated with mine. She was one of the strongest of my kind my lord." Akurax says humbling himself in front of Sian Reed. Dismissing Akurax's apology, he pulls out several cards.
"Ah, Chain(3), nightmare, healing(4), lovers(5), invisible, demon, void, and my favorite death, these cards will weaken those mages and I will eliminate them. If my dear half reincarnated brother interferes, then I will kill him as well. Now Akurax, let's go to our ally's home." Sian says and the two vanish. They reappear in a lab that looks as if it came right out of the original series of Star Trek.
"Ah, Sian Reed, welcome to Skynet, the most powerful computerized system on the planet." a voice with a Russian accent says coming towards the vampire bat and the dark mage.
"Sigma-Black, are our plans on schedule?" Sian asks.
"Yes, if that bat can turn himself into this human," Sigma-Black says holding a picture. Akurax lands on the ground and transforms into a fourteen year old boy with long, black hair with yellow eyes. He was modestly built and look like someone that one wouldn't mess with.
"How's this?" Akurax says to Sigma-Black smugly.
"Good, so who is he going to be known as?" Sian asks.
"His name is Leo(6). He's been in and out of schools because of his ability of getting himself into trouble. Also, I've found out that the Karthing boy and the Drumhilde boy are attending the same school as well. If our enemies make an alliance we could be in trouble." the Russian says as his metal right hand clenches and unclenches.
"Remember Sigma, they won't know that we are working together until it's too late. To them, we are three separate enemies." Sian says calming the Soviet down. "Plus, I've left a calling card for my brother. He won't let these heroes kill me if he can help it."
"I hope you're right." Sigma says and Sian smirks. Monday, it would begin. All of their enemies would fall at their feet, and then, no force would be able to stop them.

He was back home now. He had done his part in this time to make sure the cards would have a future. Now, he would have to just live his life and see what would come his way. Then Spinner came flying at Eli holding a small piece of paper looking worried. The guardian handed it to Eli who looks at it and gets a concerned look on his face.
"Ruby, don't unpack everything yet. There may be a problem." Eli says motioning for spinner to follow him.
"What's going on master?" Ruby asks with concern in her voice.
"I am not certain, but I think that my brother may have broken out of his prison. If that's the case then we'll have to head back to Readington. Come Spinner, we have a cave to check out." Eli says and the two vanish.

It was lunchtime on that following Monday. Sakura was surprised to see Lee sitting at his desk when she arrived at school. She was happy about this development even though Lee had just told her about his mother's visions. Of course, all this had been pushed to the side because the two were trying to figure Leo out. He gave Sakura the creeps and Lee couldn't trust him as far as he could throw him. Right now though, he was cuddled with Sakura under a tree away from most of the other students. They were on their sides withLee kissing her neck and letting his hand roam up and down her leg. Feeling someone's eyes on them, Lee stops and looks up to see Leo watching with a smirk that made Lee furious.
"By all means, do continue. Don't let me bother you." Leo says still smirking at them.
"You've been keeping an eye on us ever since you got here. What do you want?" Lee asks and stands up to face Leo.
"I know your secrets mages. I know what your true powers are and I'm not impressed. I thought you would have been smart and leave Readington, Lee, but you are like any other hero, too dumb to know when not to interfere with the powers of darkness. I warn the both of you now, you can't defeat what is to come. You will lose and you will end up dead. I'm not the only one out there you know. Until we meet in battle, take care." Leo says and leaves the pair. Lee puts his arms around Sakura and she stops shivering.
"What was that all about, guys?" Madison asks coming up to the couple.
"Looks like my mother was right. Be careful around Leo, I think that he's either a dark mage, or he's some sort of creature that has taken human form." Lee says glaring at the retreating form of Leo. Things were about to get more intense around Readington, and Leo was only the beginning.

Author's Ramblings

This is just the start of this saga. As you readers can see, there is a lot more to come. As you also can see, I've made this continuity in which it takes four years for the cards to be captured and transformed. Next up, Aftermaths Part II.

1. Wulf Drumhilde: Was introduced in "New Allies", an early part of the first arc in whiteshirt's story.

2. Josh Karthing: was introduced in "The Experiment". His introduction occurs one part earlier than Wulf in the first arc of whiteshirt's story.

3. chain card: was introduced in Chains, which takes place in the second arc of whiteshirt's story.

4. healing card: was introduced in "The Retreat", a part that takes place in the first arc of whiteshirt's story.

5. lovers card: was introduced in the very first part of the first arc entitled "The Lovers Card".

6. Leo...,if you've read my updated version of my High School Days Trilogy, this is basically the same character that led the Yellow Dragons. In this version, he's a servant of Sian Reed.
